This book was pretty good! This series does blend the narrative of the past few books into this one and it does show how the girls and guys interacted a lot more with each other especially with giving advice to Riley and Summer in how they can be with each other. It was even funny how both sides could see right through them that they cared about each other. what confused me is that I didn't see how both Riley and Summer didn't like each other throughout the first three books which that tends to lead into this one in how both characters interacted in the last one. Also, I didn't expect Riley being the control freak and Summer being flighty since I saw Riley being the wingman with Josh and egging the guys who were falling for women and Summer as flighty since she was the fashion forward gal. I guess this book had surprises that I wasn't expecting. Can't wait for the next one with Josh!

Trying It All is the second book I've read in the Naked Men series. It's fun, sexy and sweet. This time it's Riley's turn to fall in love. And he picks someone completely opposite of him, on the surface. Summer is an easy going woman who takes life one day at a time. She owns a successful clothing boutique and she's Chloe's best friend (Risking It All). Riley is a buttoned up, khakis and navy blazer wearing, play by the rules kind of guy. He works for the NTSB and assesses safety for a living. So, Summer, in all her breeziness, drives him absolutely mad. He can't stand her, and the feeling is mutual. Until one day, he takes a chance and kisses the hell out of her.

That kiss sets off a chain reaction until soon they're steaming up the sheets together. But, can two such opposite people ever make a relationship work? With a man like Riley, who plans out everything, who wants to be in control of all variables, and a woman like Summer who never plans anything beyond what to wear that day? Both of these damaged people are suffering from fear. Riley was in the accident with Griffin, Knox and Josh that no one ever thought they'd walk away from. April was technically killed in the same shooting that Chloe was hurt in. They just dealt with their trauma in different ways. Riley dealt by trying to control everything, every outcome, every variable. Summer dealt by not taking a future for granted, not planning anything beyond the day she's living in.

But, as they say, opposites attract. Riley's attracted to Summer for the very thing that drives him nuts. She shakes him up and takes his control away. "I don't have a choice, Summer. Not when I'm with you. You suck the air from my lungs. The blood from my heart. All the common sense from my brains." And the very things that Summer used to hate about Riley, she's suddenly seeing them in a whole new light. "Riley noticed . . . well, he noticed everything. Then he took whatever steps were necessary to improve or fix each and every situation. His competence was quiet, but astonishingly thorough. All that attention to detail impressed Summer. But now she saw it, and him, in a different light. The way he always got things done, the way he made her feel so taken care of and utterly safe . . . safe . . ."

So the safety guy and the fashionista sound like a bad idea on paper. But, can they make it work? Of course they can! As long as they're both willing to do it together.

I like Trying It All and I adore Riley, he's so sweet and protective. How could I resist such a combination? I would have given it a five star review except that the first half was kind of boring and Summer drove me absolutely nuts. She was a little too insensitive and came across as pretty shallow until almost the end. Other than those two things, though, Trying It All was well written, and has a cast of great characters. I think Josh's book is next, can't wait!

I honestly fall in love with each of the Naked Men books as they come, but this one ind of caught me off guard because well, I never paid any attention to Riley. For real. And I didn't really expect Summer to be paired with anyone.
I was expecting more of the banter and not as much heavy stuff. That said, it really made me take a good look at these characters, even love them in a way. To sum, yes, I connected with both Riley and Summer - her especially on some level.
It's not my favorite Naked Men story by any means.

I'm holding out for whatever Christi has planned for Josh.

This was my first Christi Barth book. I enjoyed it. I love a book with a HEA and I got it in this book.

Riley and Summer in "Trying it All" was such fun read! Riley was so regimented in his day to day living that he had issues with living a full day to day life. The ACSs were there for him as always, as was Summer who was falling for Riley, one of the Naked Men guys. Both Summer and Riley had traumatic instances in their past. Both had a bit of anxiety and panic attacks that cause issues in their day to day living as well as the difficulty of moving their romance to another level. The emotion, angst, and overcoming their pasts was a catalyst for them both to finding their HEA with each other. The story gives us more of the camaraderie of the ACSs as well as the closeness of Summer and her friends. Riley, the next ACS to fall in love, will give you that aha moment. Each book is a standalone, and you can start anywhere with the Naked Men stories, but all are recommended by this reader. I would like to thank NetGalley and Loveswept for gifting me "Trying it All". My opinion is my own. This is mine 4.5 Stars!

Genre: Romance - comedy
Stand-alone: yes but even better if you've read the rest of the series
Part of a series: yes Book 4 of the Naked Men Series
POV: Summer and Riley
Steam-level: rather toasty at times
5/5

I love this series! The only book of this series that I haven't read is the first one (with Chloe and Griffin) so I didn't really know Summer or her backstory (since Chloe and Summer are best friends I figure that some of it may have been covered in Chloe's book but I may wrong). As with the rest of this series I absolutely love the guys and their closeness, their different personalities and how they all have coped differently from their tragedy but all making a difference in their own way. This book takes it a step further and looks at survivor's guilt, anxiety, and the other emotions and coping mechanisms without being too over the top with it or even mentioning survivor's guilt outright. This story was fast-paced and emotional. It sucked me in and kept me in the story The characters grew together and clashed with their exact opposite personalities and life-views.
I love how things progressed in this story that we've been waiting for and I really hope we get Josh's story soon to see what happens with some of the set up with of something in this book. I look forward to an HEA for all the characters in this series with, hopefully, a big gushy epilogue for everyone.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free the author/publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest voluntarily review.

The Naked Men are my favorite. They are hot, brash and macho, but also sensitive and loving. Riley and Summer were a great addition to the series. They are totally a case of opposites attract, and I loved every minute of reading it.

This book chronicles the romance of two survivors of catastrophic events, Summer Sheridan and Riley Ness, Summer, the heroine, survived a mass shooting at college. Having "died on the operating table", Summer has developed a joie de vivre based on not expecting a future for herself. She is beautiful, a successful business owner, a motivational speaker., a serial dater. She is the best friend to fellow survivor, Chloe, who is almost-engaged to Griff, the best friend of Riley. Riley is a survivor as well. While on a trip for a soccer world championship game, Riley and his best friends survived a near-death bus accident in the Alps. The five friends were considered heroes, but each dedicates his life to saving and serving others. Riley, in particular, heads the Highway division of the NTSB, and tries to plan and control for any possible negative outcome. Riley and Summer seem to be like water and oil, until he kisses her.. From there the games begin, with lots of ribbing from the mutual friends, lots of angst from the hero and heroine who don't want to become involved with someone they consider "not their type".
This book had lots of action, considerable character development, and enough background information about the supporting cast so that I didn't feel I missed anything by not reading other books in what is obviously a series.
I recommend the book and the author.

Riley always plans ahead, works out what can go wrong, then finds a way to minimize the damage. His world is shaken up when he tries to prove to Summer he can be impulsive and kisses her in public. Their hate-hate relationship becomes a learning curve for both of them as they work around their completely opposite views on how to live life. I really enjoyed Riley's willingness to step outside himself to correct his view on life. No matter how angry or hurt he was, he took that step forward. Summer's need to live in the now countered that, but she also accepted the changes he brought into her life, and this made the story a good read.

I received a copy of this through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

So I think I found my least favorite book in Barth's Naked Men novel. I don't know. It was just a really slow read for me. Don't get me wrong, I liked the main characters, Riley and Summer, but darn it, they were kind boring. They spent a lot of time in throughout the story discussing their baggage and the fact that they were wrong for each other. I also didn't have as much of a connection with Riley as I did with Logan, Griffen, and Knox. I feel like the first three books really focused on those three. Riley and Josh weren't as popular.

The storyline was alright. I'd like to point out that several times I felt like just as I would start to get into the book, the book would surge forward and I would miss something. Like something was about to happen at the end of the chapter, like an important conversation, and the next chapter would be fast forward. Then we would get a recap of that convo later in the chapter.

I hate that I don't have a glowing review of Trying It All. Since I loved the first three in the series. I kinda hope the author never see's this review, because I'm kinda sad about it. I wanted to love it. I just didn't. Blah!

Summer is a carefree spirit. She lives life as if each day were her last. She's willing to try anything once, except love. It's not that she doesn't believe in love. Summer had wonderful examples of love in her parents. Her best friend even found the love of her life--one of the "Naked Men". It took one life changing moment to make her believe that she may not have a tomorrow, so she's built a wall around her heart believing that a future isn't in the cards.

Riley is your typical nerdy, geeky, hard-working man. Although he hopes to win his parent's approval, it's not his main goal. He works hours on end to make sure nobody has to go through what he and his friends did as teens. Riley's ultimate goal is to educate people on preventable accidents, while teaching survival skills in case the worst does occur. He does not and will not place himself in situations where someone can get hurt, until Summer.

While these two have clearly experienced life altering incidents early in life, they have extremely different approaches on how to live their lives. Summer lives in the moment, doesn't plan, and has fun. But she isn't really "living" her life if she shuts out the possibility of love, a future. Riley is the extreme opposite. He follows the rules and plans ahead for every possible outcome. He is so tied to "planning" and expecting the worst, he too doesn't truly live his life. Riley doesn't realize that it is impossible to plan for EVERYTHING.

This novel was the fourth in The Naked Men series. I haven't read the other three, but definitely need to. There was enough back story so that you didn't get lost, but I wanted to know more about each of the other Naked Men! This novel was a perfect blend of sadness, happiness and witty banter. The sexual tension between Riley and Summer was also amazing. While they wanted to kill each other, they also couldn't keep their hands off each other! I highly recommend this novel! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Trying It All is book 4 in Christi Barth's Naked Men series. While the series for me has been hit or miss I definitely liked this one. I could see Riley and Summer coming from a mile away with their disdain for each other, it was a great hate to love relationship. Where they were just supposed to sleep with each other to get it out of their system but they kept on doing it and before they knew it it was love. Riley has been ever since the accident that made him and his friends famous the worst case scenario boy scout. Summer has been ever since almost dying in a campus shooting a fly by the seat of her pants why put it off tomorrow if you can do it today and live life to the fullest. They are opposites who have more in common then one may think. Their personal tragedies may have set them in opposites directions but they understand each other better than anyone else.

Riley dedicated his life to make sure everyone is safe from preventable accidents as a employee of the National Transportation Safety Board he is doing what he set out to do. Riley initially thought Summer was flaky and her spontaneous ways just immature, and then he kissed her and everything changed. Riley found out that Summer is so much more than she lets on. Summer has no problems making plans for other people or for her business but never for herself personally. Summer first thought Riley's excessive planning was annoying but after getting to know him and finding the reason for it she finds it cute, but will her impetuous nature cause more problems between them than they can handle?

Overall, the story is an emotional journey for both Riley and Summer they both have to face things they thought they had figured out but falling in love with each other made them view things differently. I may not have liked Griffin in his own story but he has become the voice of reason and one of the most sensible characters in the series and OMG Chloe best part of the book. The story in general was a good read I liked both characters and the whole conflict at the end was heartbreaking it had me in tears and the sex was deliciously naughty and so hot.

Great book about not judging someone because of their outward appearance. Two outwardly different people both faced tragic pasts and found a way to look past it all and fall into love.

Yes! Summer's book! I've been waiting for this one since book one, Wanting It All , when her bestie Chloe fell for Griffin. Fortunately, it did not at all disappoint.

Summer and Riley represented everything that is awesome about enemies-to-lovers stories. Their initial antagonism, mixed in with inexplicable attraction, confused with tow-curling kisses--just fantastic. The fact that he's the (overly anal, it must be said) prepares-for-everything guy and she's the woman who thinks getting a puppy is too much of a commitment and smacks of future plans? Just adds to the deliciousness of the story. Add in the fact that the rest of the Naked Men are around, poking their noses into Ry's business from start to finish? Pretty much ensures the story's awesomeness from start to finish.

(Plus, for those who've been reading the series since the beginning, something FREAKING AWESOME happens with an earlier hero and heroine. I very nearly stood up and cheered at that point.)

The one odd aspect of this book, though, is that a lot of the scenes that get a lot of buildup in the narrative don't actually end up happening on the page (a stressful Naked Men podcast first, a meet-the-parents moment, just to name two). It's not a huge issue, but it did give the story a somewhat choppy feeling. At the same time, it kept the story moving along at a good clip, but...still felt a bit odd.

Overall, Trying it All was a fun and sexy read with two characters who both did their own share of work to get to their eventual HEA. The fact that they both realized their own issues, owned up to them, and put in equal effort going forward might make this one my favorite of the series (so far--Josh, you're on notice!). It could work as a standalone, but really, do yourself a favor and read them all. You won't be sorry!

Sadly Trying It All is the 4th & final book in the Naked Men series. All these books have been so fun & I will miss the men & their stories. Trying It All can be read as a stand alone but the whole series is seriously worth reading.

I love the characters Christi Barth creates & her writing style is just so easy & entertaining. And the sexy time is just HOT

I love their series and how their past has impacted each of their lives. I'm ready for the next book, but will be sad when the series ends! I think the butler should have his own book, too! I posted a review on Goodreads.

I really loved Riley and Summer's story. They have both been through things in their life that have stayed with them and they were really a perfect match. This is such a great series and I highly recommend it!

I loved this next installment of the Naked Men! Riley was such a hard sell in the romance department but hot as ever! I can't wait for the final book!

I have to keep repeating myself that if anyone hasn’t read “The Naked Men” series, you are missing out on a fabulous and entertaining saga of love stories written by Christi Barth…. of five friends, blood brothers since teenagers, partners in death and life, bachelors who have fallen to their knees in love…and Christi Barth totally rocks these romances…. this is one series that I strongly vouch to be read!

The fourth “Naked Man” Riley Ness, the planner, the organizer, the guy who is anal about being ready for anything every single moment of his life, finally meets his match in Summer Sheridan, the gorgeous, the flighty, the lady who takes life head on with absolutely zero planning. And there’s absolutely no way of escaping each other, as they are part of the tight circle of friendship.

Polar opposites yet the sparks of attraction bring them together, diverse views as wide as the ocean, yet lust seems to keep them together, and with their outlook on life at two ends of the spectrum, the wholesomeness of their relationship seems to bind them together. Summer and Riley keep the readers entertained,” Trying It All” with their dynamic antics and verbal spars and the credit of plotting a smashing love story goes to Christi Barth. This is one author discovered that am totally in love with and look forward to reading her books.

The entire series should be read to enjoy these Naked Men, as they open up their hearts and feelings to the outside world, baring themselves to the world of their fears and insecurities, laying the fact that successful and rich men do have their own issues and that life is just one happy place because you have the money.
