THIS IS THE FOURTH BOOK OF THE NAKED MEN!!!
Riley Ness finds out that he has an intense dislike for Summer Sheridan.
Summer think that Riley is most irritating man she has ever met. However they are like trying to like each other because of their friends. What they didn't expect was intense chemistry for each other. Until something happens. Must Read to find out!!!!
This is part of series.I did read the first book so I did know how the series started though I have missed all the other books in the series. This story is about the heroine in the first books best friend, Summer and the hero in the first books best friend Riley.
Riley and Summer have been tossed together alot and well they appear to fight like cats and dogs. The two are two of the most opposite characters, yet they have a lot in common too, just not how they react to life. One day Summer goads Riley into taking a stand and well what a stand he takes. He lays one on Summer and well its fireworks, surprising both characters and well after that they cannot stay way from the other.
This was an enjoyable romance with a little hate/love thing going on. Riley was a great character as the rulemaker and careful character while Summer, felt rules would never keep her safe and so she just wants to live and not worry about the future.
Trying It All what can I say another great book from naked man. I so did not see this coming Riley and Summer together. The both have their own issues which in the end separate them. Riley was for me a surprise as a character because from previous books I didn’t see him as he was. I was positive surprised. And the same goes for Summer. I loved that the group of naked men is still together although they are no longer single. And the way they support each other and call on their bullsh… priceless. Another unique story in the series that I enjoyed reading.
As with all the male main characters, their adolescent experience in the Alps helped shape their character. Riley is no exception. He likes to plan and prepare down to the last detail. Not a bad quality for his profession, but not exactly appreciated all the time by others. Summer's adolescent experience also has shaped her character. She doesn't make long-term plans and likes to go with the flow. They barely tolerate each other's company when they are in the same room because their best friends are in a relationship. So how do two totally different people feel such an attraction to each other? Maybe they are more alike than they know.
I was hoping that Summer would appear in someone's story. Riley and Summer are both strong characters and yet are both vulnerable. I think they each realized that you can't judge a book by its cover. This is the fourth book in the series and it doesn't disappoint. I cannot wait for the final book!!!
As I have stated in my other posts, I really hate picking a book up and realizing it is the 2nd to the last book in a series. There is so much backstory that I feel that I am missing out of and the other characters, who usually are in the book and I am left thinking to myself “What happened to them” and “What is their story”. Drives me nuts and yes, I know that it is all on me. I could just as easily skipped over these books when I was selecting them from NetGalley. But, no, I like to drive myself nuts and continue to request them.
I thought that Trying It All was a pretty interesting book. I loved Riley and Summer’s backstory. When Riley was a teenager, he was involved in a near tragic accident in the mountains of Italy that left him and his friends stranded for 3 days. Summer was the survivor of a mass shooting at her college. What made it interesting to me is that the author explored how to similar traumatic experiences could affect people differently.
With Riley, it made him hypervigilant to scenarios where something could go wrong. He was an expert with what to do in every sort of situation. He even took a job that used his talents (for lack of a better word). He was very detail orientated and never, ever did he take a leap without seeing where the leap would take him and if it was safe. He was so uptight that it hurt reading about it in the book. Which is why Summer didn’t like him. Her nickname for him was FunSucking DeathStar. I started dying laughing when I read that because it was so true.
Summer, however, decided that she had to live life like there would be no tomorrow after she left the hospital. So she did everything to the extreme and refused to let herself have a lasting, loving relationship with anyone. She even mentioned that the word long-term gave her a twitch. All because she might die the next day. I would say that she went the extreme opposite direction that Riley did.
Now, I don’t know how they interacted in the first 3 books, which peeved me because there was a lot of dislike of each other, but I will say that their mutual dislike was very short-lived in this book. Like a couple of chapters short-lived. Then they kissed and everything got turned upside down.
I liked how Summer was able to bring Riley out of his comfort zone on certain things….like paragliding. I do have to say that the kiss they shared while doing that was very, very hot but very unsafe. Good thing that Summer was able to see that and stop it before something happened. But Riley couldn’t make Summer see that sometimes playing it safe was a good thing until a very bad thing happened to her.
The sex scenes were off the pages hot and I liked that the author had them do the dirty in unconventional areas. They had sex on a beach (of course, while I was reading it all I could think of was…ouch sand….lol), in a car parked on the street and in a store on a rug in front of a sofa after hours. Normally reading about people having sex in public places doesn’t do it for me but this time it did.
I will say that I did agree with Riley when he did what he did and I agreed with Chloe when she called Summer out. Honestly, I think it should have been done earlier but hey, the rest of the book would have been boring. I also agreed with the intervention that Riley’s friends did. I think he needed it and again, something that probably should have been done earlier in the book.
The end of the book was typical with an HEA. I am waiting to see if Josh gets his own book. Not that should be interesting to read :).
How many stars will I give Trying It All: 4
Why: I thought that this was a good book with some hot sex scenes. I also liked that not so opposites attract angle of the book. It made for a very interesting read.
Will I reread: Yes
Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes

Another great book by Barth! I binge read this series after reading an anthology she was in. Never disappointed with this Author. She's now on my One Click worthy list!
An amazing story, a book that captured my attention, spoke to my heart and one I will definitely read again and again countless times.
Book 4 in the naked men series and what a series it's been. Again fell in love with this book, series and author. It's Riley's turn in this book. The one who never leaves anything to chance and like order in his life and job. He's great at his job and the only time he lets loose is with his friends and summer. Summer friends are all engaged to Riley's friends which throws these two together. They are super hot together and you can't help liking them more through the book. And can see why they are perfect for each other. You get dragged into there story and can't help rotting for them. Would recommend everything about this series, book an author. You should give her a try, you will fall in love with her books like I did.
I have to say, I love the Naked Men series. It has been great getting to know each of the men and the woman that they fall in love with. Riley's book is ,Trying It All. We get to see a few different sides of Riley. There's always the vet cautious side, but he also likes adventure. Just after preparing for it extensively. The buttoned up man, and the fun loving man. Summer seems to bring out the worst side in him, in the beginning of the book. Summer is a very spontaneous person, if it feels good then why not give it a try? It drives Riley insane.
Both Riley and Summer have had traumatic experiences that shaped them into the person they are today. To see the different spin each take is what makes this a fantastic book.
I can't wait for Josh's book now. Although I thought that it might be fun to read a novella with Jerry's story too. Since he is in every book anyways, it just makes sense to me.
This is amusing and entertaining and intense. The opposites attract storyline is immensely funny, which is good because of the characters back stories being so dramatic and heartbreaking. These characters have a special place in my heart, and seeing them overcome the trauma they each suffered and find love intensely satisfying.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my honest opinion of it.
I love Christi Barth's series Naked Men & Riley's book is a great addition to the series. This emotion packed book was wonderfully written to take us on a ride that breaks our hearts with their emotional baggage & makes us laugh as they push each other's buttons(mostly on purpose) & makes us cry when they give up on what they both want....each other. They're like night & day, oil & water they shouldn't mix but when they try they make great music together. Both characters are strong but weak & damaged in a way. Riley having survived the fatal bus crash & 3 nights in a cave in the Alps during a high school soccer trip, is always prepared for everything, even having contingency plans as well. He planned his life around the trauma of the accident, even going as far as working for the NTSB. Summer surviving 3 gun shot would & dying during surgery after being shot 3xs on her college campus during a school shooting, has also changed her outlook on life. She no longer plans ahead, she does what she wants when she want, she's not going to have regrets about not trying something. She also doesn't stick around to give anyone a chance to get close except for her BFF Chloe because she never knew when they'd be taken away from her. The fact that these 2 grated on each other's nerves in the beginning only to find out they were really both interesting & likeable people was a wonderful concept for this book. Going from snarling & sniping to laughing & making out was wonderfully done. Christi Barth leaves you with a really great feeling when reading her stories & this book was no different. Definitely recommend.
4.5 stars -This naked man series remains the best contemporary romance series I've read in years. So often, the first and maybe even the second book in a series is amazing, but once the author gets a devoted fan base she gets lazy (at least it reads and feels like laziness). Thankfully, Ms. Barth is not such an author. Trying it All is just as fresh, real and yummy as the initial installment.
We've gotten to know Riley and Summer through previous books and see this romance coming, but the reality of it is so good. These folks have honest fears, rooted in first-hand tragedies that have proven to be life altering. Their accounts of their own personal hells feels honest and without artifice.
Also, as a fellow Marylander and DMV resident, I love Barth's ease at setting the scene. I literally saw myself rounding the corner of the swanky Newseum.
I genuinely enjoyed this read and anxiously await Josh's story.
If I had one nitpick it's that their love felt a bit rushed, though a little less so if you take their interactions from the previous book into consideration.
I received an ARC of this book, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Riley is one sexy complicated level headed man. Except for the fear he has carried around most of his life. Summer is a carefree fun loving woman. Except for the fear of what the future holds or doesn't hold. They are so wrong for each other they are each other's total opposite. They make for one amazingly fun loving hard headed couple. A must read.
Riley Ness survived the bus crash along with his friends, but has forever felt the need to make the world safer. He works for the NTSB helping to prevent traffic accidents. Summer Sheridan also survived a tragedy, but she feels the need to live in the moment and not plan since your life may be taken away at any time. Summer and Riley are attracted to each other, but they can't get past how differently they view life. The book meanders back and forth between Summer and Riley liking each other and hating each other. It got tiring after a while until Summer takes Riley hiking and they almost die again when a sudden storm causes a tree to fall on them. They both survive, but continue to fight over their views on life. By this time you are exhausted with the back and forth and just want them to make a decision.
what a totally interesting romance> good characters and plot. Enjoyed!
I enjoyed Riley and Summer's romance. The conflict was believable given both their pasts. I wish certain scenes were played out and not ended too soon. For example, they are about to do an important podcast, but then the reader does not get a scene of the podcast.
*5 Stars*
I love the Naked Men. Barth has done such a good job with this series. Even though each book we re-hash a bit of what we already know from their history, but we still always get a new perspective because its a different guy in each book.
I loved how Summer and Riley were always getting under each others skin, but it still somehow worked. I also loved how still get all the usual banter and love from the other guys and now girls in their little group.
I always really enjoy reading this series, and I have a feeling I know who will the female counterpart in Josh's book. Cannot wait.
Well done Christi Barth, as always. Love this series!
Right from the start we get a sense of Reilly's background and perhaps what makes him the careful guy that he is today. It's so cute that we don't always understand who we are attracted to but it is fun to see these MC's get together.
Trying It All ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Riley and Summer OMG opposites really do match!!!'
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic , sassy and exasperating must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
This is the fourth book in the series. I have enjoyed every single one. Each story is different with its own difficulties getting to their HEA. However oh so very worth it. While the author does an amazing job wring and the book can be a standalone I think it's so much better if you start at the beginning and fall for the ACS's and the women who they love. Oh my sweet Josh I'll be waiting patiently for your book.
Netgally gifted me this book for a honest review!'n📚💕⭐📚💕⭐📚
Order. Attention to detail. Never leaving anything to chance. These are the qualities that make Riley Ness such a terrific federal agent . . . and a pain in the ass to everyone else. The only time Riley lets loose is when he’s hanging out with his closest pals. So when he’s thrown together with gorgeous, flighty Summer Sheridan, Riley’s brain tells him she’s a ticking time bomb—but his body doesn’t want to play by the rules.
Riley has to be the most irritating man Summer has ever met. The brooding hunk thinks he needs to teach her a few lessons about real life, while she’d rather show him how to enjoy it. But her BFF’s all but engaged to Riley’s best friend, and besides, their intense physical chemistry is all too real. Summer just needs Riley to try to meet her halfway and take a chance with the one thing that matters: his heart.
I love this series. I loved the last one with Logan and this one is no exception. I felt so bad for Summer!! She just broke my heart. She was in the shooting with Griff’s girlfriend, from the first book. She was minding her own business in college, thinking what we all think in college – that we’re invincible and then she hears gunfire. She watches a classmate go down and then she feels not one, not two but 3 bullets hit her. She dies for one minute and 11 seconds on the operating table and from then on she becomes someone totally different. She becomes someone who doesn’t look toward the future but she takes one day at a time. She’s a free spirit and I would personally want to be her friend because she’s fiercely loyal. There’s just one tiny problem – she hates Riley. Riley on the other hand almost died when he was in high school from an accident with all his “blood brothers” that you meet in the other books. The Naked Men. I love them so much and I really need to read the first two. He’s always so prepared that putting him and Summer together is like mixing oil and vinegar. The sexual chemistry however is off the charts and they both start looking at each other differently. I really felt for Riley in this too because he held so much guilt over “killing” Santo – when really it was all just circumstance. It could have been anyone. His life’s mission in the world is to work for the NTSB and to make a difference and he’s not good enough for his parent’s because he’s not climbing the social ladder quick enough. I wanted to hug them both and slap them both a couple times. There was some angst but it was fitting. I really can’t wait for Josh’s book – as a matter of fact….I’m going to stalk Christi Barth so she’ll send me an ARC copy to read because I LOVE HER SOOOO MUCH!!!! Seriously, love her!! I will be so sorry to see these characters go that I might need therapy after this and I’m in mental health….so you know that’s pretty bad. I’ll have to get a colleague to assume care LOL!!!
Final thoughts….Buy it, Consume it, Savor it and if you haven’t read any of the other in the series – Just buy them ALL!!!
I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on Netgalley for a honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.
