This was an ok read.
I was a little put off by Kennedy’s wishy washy attitude. It’s understandable that she would be upset because of the reason she came to Lyra Valley but she’s not stupid and couldn’t possibly be so naive to think that real feelings are something to be ashamed of.
Aaron’s constant guilt gets a little tiresome, as well. It’s actually a miracle that these two even come together at all.
I liked the premise but didn’t feel a connection between Kennedy and Aaron.
The epilogue didn’t really bring anything to the story and could have been left out entirely. I’m a big fan of “where are they now” but the epilogue barely provided that.

Probably 3.5 stars overall. A cute story about getting over a love and making space in your heart. It brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face watching Aaron and Kennedy find each other. I loved the healing that they helped each other find and the way they were in general. Also, the dog Charlie was a hit.

I loved absolutely everything about Pillowtalk! I couldn't put this book down and I read it all in one sitting!

What a beautiful story! It was sad but also heartwarming. Story of love and friendship. My heart was pulled deeply into this book!

This was such a sweet and romantic story. I fell in love with Cassie Mae's writing. Aaron and Kennedy are the cutest couple I have read in a long time. Sometimes I wanted to punch each one of them separately, but then BOOM! I fell in love with them once again through the power of Mae's writing. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a romance story that will sweep your feet away with sweetness. This is not a book that will make you want to weep or have you in an emotional dramatic wreck. Instead, it leads you through the path of Aaron and Kennedy through the wonderful aspects of what it is to have a relationship from total strangers, to friends, to finally lovers.

Pillowtalk is my first book by Cassie Mae, but it won’t be my last. There was a lot I enjoyed about this book, but in other areas I felt it could have been improved. Death is never an easy topic to write especially in a romance author and when the character was in the prime of his life, and given that the heroine is on a journey to scatter the ashes of her beloved and meets a man who at one time was her late lover’s best friend prior to a falling out only creates a more difficult situation. At times I felt this book was a bit repetitive and filled with too much angst, but at other times I could appreciate the sweet, but intense feelings they had for one another from the moment they met.

Heading to her lost love’s hometown, Kennedy knows it is time for her to fulfill Jared’s wishes and spread his ashes in the lake he loved so much, but she underestimated how hard it would be to be surrounded by the people who knew Jared even better than she did including his sister, and his best friend Aaron whom he never talked about as well as Aaron’s brother, Austin. Feeling intense chemistry with Aaron startles her and she believes that Aaron wants nothing to do with her when the truth is Aaron is dealing with his grief of losing Jared way before his death from cancer.

While I enjoyed watching Aaron and Kennedy fell for one another the guilt they both felt on numerous occasions got a bit tedious. They both claimed to know Jared so well, so did they really think that given that Jared at one time loved them both that he would be surprised by their attraction and feelings for one another? While I understand Kennedy was trying to move on with her life, the way she carried his urn around and even slept with it just seemed a bit morbid and strange to me. I appreciated that Aaron came clean fairly quickly about the bad blood between him and Jared giving Kennedy the choice to accept him knowing their past or reject him because of it.

Pillowtalk was a sweet and emotional story, but it just had a bit too much internal turmoil and angst for my taste.

Cassie Mae never fails to deliver the sweet stuff and the hot and sexy stuff. Pillowtalk is a fun and sweet and sexy, delicious read that takes pillow talk that we're used to/think of and kicks it up a notch both inside and outside of the bedroom. And I just adored these characters especially when they're together.

This is, by far, my least favorite Cassie Mae book. I picked up an ARC copy hoping that I would like it. *news flash* I didn't, like it that is. Three quarters in and I'm just not feeling anything so I decided to put it down. Months later, I picked it up again, for the sole purpose of finishing it, but oh boy, was I surprised for the last quarter of the book. That's where I found something that i like, something that made this a 3 star instead of 1 1/2, something that really made up with the lack of depth in some parts.

One of my favorite things about reading is when it can make me laugh out loud or cry, and the biggy get all the FEELS. Mae defiantly made me feel all the emotions with this one. The character are very relatable. This charming small town romance will very much steal your heart, and you won't have any choice but to let it. Mae has a new reader in me.

I wish Pillowtalk by Cassie Mae would have been more to my liking because the summary sounded interesting. The characters had great potential yet I felt like it didn’t flow well. Like there was missing information to tie each chapter. I also felt confused by the twin’s names and it was distracting in the dialogue. It was difficult for me to get through it, but some scene made me keep on reading.

Its rare that I want to laugh, cray and love while reading a book, and this was one that hit the trifecta of emotions. This book has amazing main characters in Kennedy and Aaron that are relateable and lovable. each have their own emotional demons to work through, and this book really brings out all the feels. I found myself crying real tears as Kennedy longed for her past, while trying to figure out how to live for her future. I am not normally a crier, however the way in which this author told this story I was crying and laughing along with the characters.

With that being said, this really is a beautiful story. If anyone has loved and lost, you can relate with Kennedy. However, this story of being able to love again in a way so different from before is what makes this book stand out from the others. While Kennedy is learning to live with her loss, she and Aaron find solace and love within each other and become essential to each other's overall healing and well being.

This was the first book from this author I have read, and I so look forward to reading more.

This is my favorite Cassie Mae book to date! This sweet emotional story between Aaron and Kennedy was perfect.

Staying at a local B&B, Kennedy is shocked to find herself drawn to a sweet-talking hometown heartthrob. Kennedy isn’t sure if she’s ready to move on, but one look in Aaron Sheppard’s eyes makes her wish he'd make a move. Aaron returned to Lyra Valley because he was fed up with the big city and missing beautiful, down-to-earth girls like Kennedy. Aaron has more in common with Kennedy than he realized and wonders if he should give her a little space. A power outage strands them together and their innocent flirtation turns to intimate conversation. Over the course of a night that neither will ever forget, Aaron and Kennedy learn just how compatible they could be if only they’d let themselves fall into each other’s arms.

This has to be one of the most emotional stories I've read in a very long time. The connection between Aaron and Kennedy was priceless...and both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. How the author portrayed Aaron breaking down on the dock latterly brought tears. Then there was Kennedy lovingly not able to let Jared go...for anyone who has lost a loved on way too early in their live, speaking from experience, her holding on was truly gut wrenching.

I hope I have the opportunity to read more from this author, I was deeply touched by her writing.

Not going to lie it wasn't my fav, didn't make it past the first few chapters. Definitely not the book for me.

Great story, make me laugh and cry at the same time. Kennedy love with all her heart. Aaron have a great heart. Their story is great. Well written, with hearts warming moments.
I recommend this book, I enjoy reading it.

Pillowtalk is a sweet story about loving, losing and learning to move on in the most unexpected ways. It starts off quite heavy, with Kennedy taking Jared's (her late fiance), ashes back to his hometown as per his wishes. There she meets Aaron, who has just returned home, himself, from the big city life. Conveniently, Aaron happens to be Jared's former best friend (that he had never mentioned). A bit more coincidental than I tend to like but c'est la vie. Their story is one of a fresh relationship trying to break a cycle of guilt and forge its own way. Part of a reason I didn't absolutely love this story is because I found that Kennedy flopped back and forth too much for my liking. She's constantly going from falling into the arms of Aaron to retracting back into the shell where she still sleeps with Jared's urn. Perhaps that's the whole point of the story--the fact that she's having so much trouble moving on with her life while desperately holding onto Jared. Either way...I wasn't in love with how the story panned out, however, I did enjoy Cassie's writing style and it was still an enjoyable read!

This book took me a while to get through because I was getting frustrated with the character of Kennedy. I understand the loss that she suffered but she just kept flopping back & forth with Aaron. I want you...I don't...I want you ....I can't, also with letting Jared's ashes go as well. It took so long for her to come to the realization that what she thought her dead lover was saying to her on his death bed wasn't what he actually said. The guilt that Aaron felt about what he'd done to Jared his best friend years ago still stayed with him & he thought he was being punished for it by falling hard for his dead friends girl. I'm sure I would've liked this book better if it hadn't taken so long for the characters to realize the second chance they were getting with each other.

Pillow Talk by Cassie Mae a great four star read. This a great and tragic romance, it tells the story of Kennedy coming to terms with the tragic passing of her boyfriend Jared, she sets out to fulfil the last wish he had, he wants to be spread at the lake in the town he grew up. On the train journey there she meets someone who knew Jared growing up, they start talking about Jared and Austin tells her some great story’s. When she gets to her destination and sees him again, things happen that she couldn’t have ever imagined.
We meet Aaron and he sees this woman in front of him, he feels an instant attraction, when she rows with him he realises what is going on, and how she met his brother earlier not him. It starts to make sense to him, things start to make sense, but when he realises who she is, he feels such conflict because previously he once let a girl get between him and his best friend once, and he is no longer here. Aaron still feels the guilt, so this means no matter how attracted he is to her, there can be nothing between them. But Fate has other plans for them, and maybe something else.
This could have been a really depressing story given the context, but Cassie Mae made it a really heartfelt and kinda a little funny in places. She lightens it in ways that made it a great story.

One of my all time favorite Authors and once again another hit by her!
