Three books in and the format of the story is always the same. The MC's hook-up and that's it. No building up for the story, any form of character development and a very unsatisfying ending. I don't know why I bothered picking it up and wasting my time on it. Shame on me for not realizing sooner that the series was not for me.
This is the second Hotel Hookup: Chicago is the 3rd in this series & its another quick & fun read. A great read to relax with after a long week. The story is entertaining & the characters are interesting.
I look forward to the last book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Every year Hannah plans a relaxing weekend in Chicago with her sisters. When she gets there, she meets a mysterious stranger.
I get that these books are supposed be quick and fun romps, but I really couldn’t get into this book. The writing didn’t work for me.
Unable to finish the book. Found the character of Hannah to be annoying, and a tad superficial. This book was just not my enough to hold my attention.
The next place Annabelle Snow takes us is the Windy City in Hotel Hookup: Chicago. This is the third in the Hotel Hookup series and so far my favorite.
I loved that I immediately had a feel of being in Chicago. I was right there with Hannah as she gets a little purchase made before her sisters hit the city for the girls weekend. And again when she's feeling the chill of walking on the street or entering The Drake Hotel. When Hannah encounters Clark, I was captivated and couldn't wait to see how things would play out. Wow! Steamy reading that kept me reading until the very end.
I was left wanting more of Hannah and Clark. Maybe we can see a future story that takes them beyond the one night.
First I’ve read of this series that obviously takes place in different cities, apparently featuring a one night stand that despite all efforts might turn into something more.
It doesn’t take long to realize I’m not the target demographic here, as Hannah goes bra shopping, which takes FOREVER. So bored I almost gave up on it. There’s so much build-up that this feels like a short story that later got expanded.
Wasn’t sold on the character either. Hannah pretends to be a deep thinker, but she’s quite superficial, especially around men. She’s only interested in looks, but that’s fair, since she certainly doesn’t mind being called a beautiful girl. . . or she might mind if she wasn’t so hot for the guy saying it.
At least the hookup scene was excellent, which only reiterates my belief that so much of this was unnecessary. Less is more here.
2.5 pushed up to 3/5
Hotel Hookup: Chicago is long on unnecessary details, short on steam, and not very well developed, as it is too short to give the story or the characters any depth. I was expecting, since the title is Hotel Hookup, for it to be super steamy, but what I got instead was one long, rather clinical scene, and an unsatisfying ending. I do like Clark, he is sweet, rather gentlemanly, and sexy. Hannah too is likable, and it's her thoughts we're privy to, not Clark's. I found this one person POV unsatisfying because Clark is just as interesting as Hannah, if not more so, and his thoughts would have helped to flesh out this story.
I think, had there been fewer extraneous details about Hannah's day, and more steam (and no use of the words 'penis' and 'vagina' in the sex scene), I would have been much more satisfied with their rather short story. Left as it is, though, I can't possibly give a higher rating, unfortunately.
This was a super quick read that I had finished in one sitting. There is not much of a plot with Hannah hooking up with Clark but they had some chemistry together. I wish there was more resolution for the characters in the end of the book as well has having some of the story told from Clark's POV but overall, it was a good read.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy via NetGalley.
Sometimes a break-up, a really bad romantic break-up will destroy a woman’s confidence in herself. It’s sad, but true that we so often take all the blame and reap the self-doubt, self-analysis and total belief that we are far from sexy or want-able all because of the wrong man. That’s Hannah’s mindset as she heads into Chicago one night early for the annual sisters getaway weekend.
One man, one name – Clark. One night is going to change Hanna’s perception of herself for evermore. A stranger’s touch, a special man’s ability to let her release everything that she was and embrace who she can be with the right man.
Exploding stars above, this series just keeps getting better and hotter. I adored Hannah, I think most women have felt as she did at one time or another in their lives – oh how I wish I would have had a man like Clark to help me over those moments in my life.
I completely enjoyed this next installment of the Hotel Hookup series. It is exactly what I’m sometimes looking for – unadulterated sexy times. If you have those urges too, then this is a series you’ll want to pick up.
Looking to steam up your windows on these cold winter’s nights? Hotel Hookup: Chicago has got you covered – or uncovered – on that one *wink*
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
If you are looking for a quick, steamy read, this one is for you. If you're looking for a storyline, you may want to move elsewhere. This book is really just about the hook-up. I really would jab like a different ending.
This is a quick little number that is perfect for a late afternoon pick me up. And that exactly describes what this story is about.
Long on detail and short on timing, Hannah and Clark have a short-lived hookup that makes you want to take a trip to ecstasy. Clark is sweet, generous, and a sinful delight! Yum!
Not a lot of conversation but loads of back-fill detail. This book is told from Hannah's POV. I wanted more heat and passion and less on the details of her afternoon but a refreshing change of pace from the heavy, emotional reads! Take it as it is.
This is my first read by this author. Sign me up for more!!
This is a fun and sexy read. Hannah is having an all-girls weekend in Chicago with her sisters after a rough breakup. Where she meets the mysterious Clark, and ends up having a one night stand. This is a fun and fast paced read. I really liked it.
Another great addition to the Hotel Hookup, this story takes place in Chicago. How can you not love Chicago, the Magnificent Mile, Chicago pizza, and Wrigley Field, all of my loves!! A fun quick sexy read that will have you wanting more.
Hannah is planning on girl's weekend with her sisters and arrives the night before for some quite time until she meets, Clark. "One amazing one night stand. Clark has shown his gratitude." That line speaks it all.
I highly recommend this book along with the rest of the Hotel Hookup stories.
Sweet and hot. Hannah is in Chicago for a girl’s trip with her sister. She checks in a day earlier expecting time alone to relax before her sisters check in. Until she met Clark and her one night end up not being lonely. Hoping this story is later expanded into a novel.
4 Stars
This was a quick, fun read. Plenty of heat between Hannah and the mysterious stranger Clark. She was really down on herself after breaking up with her boyfriend and Clark brought out a side she thought was gone.
As an avid traveler, I enjoyed the author bringing Chicago to life as well. It has encouraged me to read the others in the series to see the other locales.
What appealed to me most was Hannah taking risks she wouldn't normally take at home. When you are away, you can be a different person and she embraced that fact.
I really enjoyed this one! My favorite of the Hotel Hookup series so far. What better way to mend a broken heart and confidence than a quick roadtrip and one night of passion with a mysterious stranger. These two have an immediate connection and he turns out to be just the bad boy this good girl needs!
Looking for a steamy fun read? This is for you. I definitely recommend it.
This was a fun, short read about finding oneself and releasing inhibitions in a scandalous way. Hannah was in a period of serious self-doubt, and all it took was a nice gesture from a stranger to make her start to see herself in a different light. Yes, one-night-stands aren't for everyone, but for Hannah, one night with Clark changed the way she viewed herself, her self worth, and her own sexuality.
This was the first book I've read by Ms. Snow, but I feel that if her others are like this one, I'll definitely read them, as this book was a very nice, short break from reality. Fun read, and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a short, steamy read.
This book was as sexy as it was hot! I love that it has a woman at first unsure of herself and only looking to spend a good weekend with her sisters, who changes into a very self assured woman ready to face life. I only wish the book could have been longer and that Clark and Hannah would be meeting again. I think they were beautiful together and maybe it is only the romantic in my heart, but I really wanted them to end up together lol. Really good book that I would recommend to just about anyone wanting a quick, sexy read.
What's the best cure for a broken heart? Hannah Truitt is about to find out with the help of a mysterious stranger. This good girl is about to get in touch with her naughty side. All it takes is a road trip and an intriguing attraction and her broken heart is on the mend. Like the strike of match, a spark becomes a flame and the heat is on. Fantasy and reality collide in Hotel Hookup: Chicago.
