I enjoy this series by Sara Rosett.
Ellie is a fun character and her organizational tips are always fun to read.
When a member of the school community is found dead, Ellie can't help but get involved.

Who knew teachers had so many secrets?

I was kept guessing until the very end.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

I love this series and this new one did not disappoint. In this one Ellie is helping with end of the year activities at the school. While she does not stumble across the body she does find herself involved in another murder. The mystery was very good and there were a lot of suspects to keep it interesting. Ellie does work more with the police. I also liked the school background. Ellie and the children are front and center in the book but I did miss Mitch. This series does not have to read in order. Enjoy this fun cozy mystery

This is the 10th book starring Ellie Avery and the kids are growing and time is passing. Ellie is now the basic pta member and homeroom mom while she runs her home organization business. As the school honors the mother's they find a dead body and Ellie and her business rival Gabrielle must work together to find the murderer. Ellie is a fun person and offers some great organizing tips throughout the book. I've read several of the books in this series and you do fine if you miss one or two.

This was my first Ellie Avery mystery, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. All of the richly drawn characters in 'Mother's Day, Muffins, and Murder', from children to adults, were believable. Ellie's involvement in the mystery had exactly the right touch. I was led in many directions with multiple suspects up until the surprising ending. This certainly won't be my last Ellie Avery.

Mother's Day, Muffins, and Murder is the tenth book in Sara Rosett’s An Ellie Avery Mystery series. This is the first book I’ve read in this series; however, the author provided sufficient character information that I easily understood their backgrounds and relationships and didn’t feel lost jumping in this far into the series. The storyline is well plotted, the characters relatable, and there are lots of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. The book flowed at a steady pace and the mystery was interesting and kept me guessing until the reveal.

Ellie Avery is a military wife, mother of two, a personal organizer, and volunteers at her children’s school. While attending Muffins with Mom, a pre-Mother’s day celebration at her children’s school, her competitor and fellow organizer, Gabrielle Matheson exits a storage closet, visibly shaken, and tells Ellie she saw a dead woman’s body inside a trashcan. While on their way to the office to report it, the fire alarm goes off and they must wait until the all clear is given and everyone has returned to their classrooms before speaking with office staff. When the closet is checked, the trashcan and body are missing everyone doubts what Gabrielle claims to have seen. Sadly, the trashcan and body reappeared in the woods near the school the next day as the first of two Field Days was ending. Klea Burris, one of the school janitors, has been strangled and the biggest fear is that a killer is someone connected to the school. Ellie doesn't want to get involved in another investigation, but she knows almost everyone at the school and has a knack for getting people to talk.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Sara Rosett has added another wonderful installment to her Ellie Avery series. This time she nailed the ins and outs of a PTA mom juggling kids, a career, and a military husband on TDY. Readers will will relate to her curious nature and sense of judgement. A wonderful cozy mystery full of secrets and red herrings that will have you guessing until the last page.

Mother's Day, Muffins, and Murder was a fun cozy mystery read. Ellie Avery is a military wife and mom and a part-time personal organizer. She volunteers at her kids' school, and is shocked when her fellow organizer and competitor Gabrielle says she saw a body in a closet during a fire drill. When Ellie checks the closet, the body is gone, only to be found at another school event. Ellie doesn't really want to get involved, but she knows everyone at the school and gets drawn in by Gabrielle and the police.

I enjoyed the book, and Sara Rosett had tips for moms volunteering at schools at the end of each chapter. It was interesting reading about the challenges of life in a military family.

Mother's Day, Muffins, and Murder by Sara Rosett is an interesting read. The book instantly takes readers into a world with two rivals. Little do they know, that they will soon work together to solve a murder mystery inside their school. A dead body is seen only to have disappeared....making the witness sound crazy. Until, it was found later on school campus. A dead janitor. Spooky read. I was intrigued as to how and why...a mother on the case helping a detective solve it was fun. Ellie is a character that re I do me of my favorite women sleuths. Determined, intrigued, and clever...I loved this cozy mystery. The title perfectly suited this novel. It definitely captured the story. Overall, I recommend Mother's Day, Muffins, and Murder to all.

Another delightful addition to the Ellie Avery cozy mystery series. Ellie is the type of best friend we would all like to have - a busy mother of two, active PTA volunteer and owner of her own part time organizing business. She is also the wife of an Air Force pilot, making this series an appreciation of military families. In this book Ellie is attending a Muffins with Moms event at her childrens school when her sometimes friend and business rival Gabrielle tells her that she has found a body in the closet. After a fire drill takes place Ellie, Gabrielle and the principal of the school go to check for the body, but it has disappeared, The body is found in the woods near the school during the field day on the next day, and it turns out to be one of the school janitors. Gabrielle gets Ellie to help her investigate and Ellie learns some secrets from the school staff but she is threatened several times. Once again Ellie proves to be an intrepid investigator and helps Detective Waraday to solve the murder. I love this series and highly recommend it.
