I couldn’t finish this book, I like the author’s writing and have enjoyed many of their books before but this one wasn’t one I could get into. I will try again when the author’s next book is released as I am a fan of theirs.
I great read for those looking for and escape for awhile in a good book. Sophie has secretly had a crush on Wright since she was a teenager. She thought she was finally over him when one night in the kitchen things take a different turn and he kisses her. Sophie comes with baggage she is adopted. She is afraid of commitment. So the kiss throws her for a loop..... Will Sophie and Wright get their happily ever after.....

This story has some sweet moments but it felt quite formulaic. The setting is lovely but this is yet another series about a family of brothers and I’m not sure it brings anything fresh to the concept.
I usually enjoy friends-to-lovers stories, but the conflict between Sophie and Wright feels forced – we are supposed to believe that lifelong best friends fall out with each other repeatedly over the smallest misunderstandings. The drama between these two made them feel really young. The author keeps telling us that Sophie effectively runs her family resort, but readers never actually see Sophie managing much of anything. I had some empathy for Sophie’s difficult childhood but she seemed unable to let go of childhood trauma and move on. Beyond disappointing his wealthy parents, Wright felt quite blandly attractive and... nice. I didn’t love either of the leads in this story, which made it difficult for me to love the story
Characters on the periphery of the story are one dimensional. Wright’s parents are snobby. One brother is controlling, one is a reformed bad boy, one is the quiet one. The sister-in-laws are creative. Brooke was the most interesting character in this book and we need to wait for the next book for her story.
My ambivalence to this book may be because I read a lot of romance. This story has charming moments, but I kept waiting for the emotional pull I get from great romance writing.

I have to disclose that this is the first story that I've read in the series. While I never really felt that I didn't know who everyone was, I would say that it probably would have helped with the development of the story if I had read the previous books.
This story was very sweet. It really is about friends who find themselves kind of at a crossroad. Do they take their mutual attraction and develop what could be a great relationship or do they just want to remain what they've always been?
Sophie is the sister who sometimes feels like she doesn't belong. She has always been close to Dev, one of her brothers, much more so than the others. Then there is Wright - he is Dev's best friend and has been in her life since she can remember.
Somewhere along the way, Wright has developed feelings for Sophie, but he isn't sure if he should act on them. Wright comes from a wealthy family who expect more from him than what he has become. While he's an amazing chef and loves working with his friends, he too needs to know whether or not he was meant for more.
However, when Sophie and he begin their secret relationship, things just become too involved. Communication is not this family's strong suit and you learn much more about the ins and outs of how this family functions (or in some cases, doesn't function)
While this is a sweet story, there are a lot of issues that I had. The predictability that makes this story is somewhat boring. The "twist" in the story is so very unresolved that I felt almost lost.
So, despite the cuteness of the story and the happy ending, I felt that this was an incomplete story.
Another great read in the Honeywilde series! This time we get Sophie's story and it's fantastic. It's the third in the series but easily read standalone. These books are wonderfully written and the characters are all intriguing and memorable. This is a wonderful friends to lovers story. Wright and Sophie have known each other forever. He's her brothers best friend and practically part of the family. Now though he's starting to look at her differently and she's not sure what to do with that.
Don't miss this one. I highly recommend it.
Wright McAdams grew up in a wealthy family. They wanted him to do something worthwhile and brag worthy with his life. Instead, he became a chef and disappointed them. His parents are total snobs. They also disapprove of his friendships with the Bradley family. Wright works for the them at their resort. He is Devlin Bradley’s best friend. He and Sophie, the adopted Bradley, have been close friends as well. Lately, he’s realized his feelings for Sophie go beyond friendship. Yet, he can’t go there because she’s Dev’s little sister. He’s also hiding the fact that he’s being scouted/recruited by some high-end restaurants all over the country.
Sophie has had a crush on Wright since they were kids. She had thought she’d moved past it all and was dating around, and they’d become close friends. When Wright kisses her, she realizes she’s never moved on, just pushed it aside.
Once they do get together, Wright wants to tell everyone so it can all be out in the open. Sophie freaks out and wants to keep it hidden - just for a little while. Which turns into a little while longer, etc. She has so many insecurities that she uses as excuses/crutches.
Yeah, I get that he kissed her while he was dating someone else, but I think that was harped on a bit much. They stopped before it went any farther and he promptly (as in the next day) broke up with said girlfriend.
I was so looking forward to Wright and Sophie’s story! I just knew it was going to be awesome watching them come together finally. And at the end, it was ok, but everything before that? My eyes were rolling so much they hurt. Toss in the return of their mom? It just was too much whining throughout the book for me.
I loved Brooke and her sass and interference. Looks like she and Trevor are up next.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley.
Ok, so right up front you know Sophie and Wright are going to work things out and get together (because that's how these stories work) but gosh- McGovern does a good job with the journey! This is a light, well written and highly entertaining romance with good characters and a terrific setting in the Inn. I found myself totally engaged. I know this is the third in a series but I read and enjoyed it as a standalone and you will too. I'm curious to see where the next book goes (hopefully there will be a next book!) Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
A Taste of Temptation is another great book from Honeywild Inc. In this one the sister Sophie finds his love. Her love was from long time ago Wright. Her brother best friend. Everything happened with the kiss attraction that was long time surprised by both of them comes out one night. Wright and Sophie kiss for the first time but the words that change after their their friendship and all communication apart. So they suffer for a few month and thanks god after a fire in the oven they start to speak again and even agree to hang out again. But the spark that they started comes again to life and this time Wright opens all cards and admits his feelings. Sophie is happy but also scared because every time she gets happy something bad happen. So Wright agrees to hide their relationship and of course is not pleasant for both of them when they are discovered. Also in all that time Wright forget to tell everyone for new job opportunities. I really loved both of them and I loved that although they acted wrong, they wanted to make it wright after they realized what they done. Lovely romantic hot read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
