FUEL FOR FIRE is action-packed! There is no other way to put it. I felt as if I were on an emotional as well as physical and psychological roller coaster ride. So many secrets that have to come out and so much emotion to get through but the happily ever after does finally get there, but whoosh -- what a ride, Z and Chelsea are really perfect for each other in that they are both loyal and supportive of those that matter.
The dialogue between all the characters is realistic and easily shows the backgrounds and personalities of the different members of BKI. I felt as if I were there in the conversations and antics of the various people, because even in dire times, laughter is good. I loved Becky, the lollipop loving mechanic, who isn't afraid of pointing out a few home truths. The woman knows her machines and her people.
If you are looking for an action packed ride that will have you running through a gambit of emotions, love, laughter, anger, hurt, sweet and steamy then FUEL FOR FIRE is what you need.

Fuel for Fire is the tenth title in the Black Knights Inc series and features Dagan Zoelner and Chelsea Duvall. Both characters have appeared in the previous titles in the series, and I was quite eager to read their story.
Fuel For Fire is a fast paced, sexy romantic suspense, full of action, intrigue and adventure and the occasional element of humor. Twists and turns abound in throughout this captivating story line told in multiple points of view.
Both Chelsea and Dagan are intriguing, complex and endearing characters. The chemistry and sexual tension between this pair is intense. I thoroughly enjoyed the fun, flirty and at times dirty banter. Their interactions were full of arguments and antagonistic remarks, that were really a form of verbal foreplay.
As with each of the titles in this series, Fuel For Fire is well written and quite heavy in intrigue and suspense. I will be eagerly anticipating the next title in the Black Knights Inc series.

Another great read by Julie Ann Walker. I have read all of her books and have loved them all. I have customers who are on a waiting list for her new releases

Everything about this series is awesome. The characters feel like friends and family. With each book brings new people to this amazing bunch of Alphas and their girls. This book was no different. Great setting as I live in the UK so it was fun to see places and know exactly where they were. Can't wait to read the next book

I've had this series on my TBR for a while now--I loved Ms. Walker's Deep Six series--and was beyond excited when I got a chance to read Fuel for Fire! I am happy to report that it definitely did not disappoint, and that even though this one's pretty far into the series (#10! Whoa :)) I had no problem jumping right into the action with this one. There is previously-known bad guy at play here, but you are given enough information to understand the seriousness of the situation without going into info dump territory.
(And can I just say--that antagonist?--gives me chills.)
Chelsea and Dagan grabbed me from the very first page--I absolutely loved their back and forth when they were at odds...and their explosive chemistry when they weren't as well. The danger they find themselves in, combined with the camaraderie they share with their fellow teammates and the others they bring in to help them get out of their current situation, make this one heck of a fun read. The story ends a bit in the air as far as Black Knights, Inc. are concerned--the president who commissioned them is leaving office, and his predecessor doesn't have any interest in keeping them around--but I sincerely that Ms. Walker has plans for them anyway, because there's at least two couples here who really, really deserve their own books ;)
Oh yeah, and a bad guy who may still be at large...
At least I've got a nine-book backlist to keep me busy while I wait!
Rating: 4 stars / A-
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Julie Ann Walker and her Black Knights, Inc. series is one of my favorites! I have every single one of these books and have read them each more than once. Julie Ann’s humor (the verbal sparring between the all the characters is priceless), the suspense she pens, the passion she makes us feel, it all adds up to another wonderful read!
Dagan (“Z”) and Chelsea finally let their chemistry build to the boiling point and what a rush! The twists, turns, ups, downs, steamy passion, suspense, and mystery - it’s all pure Black Knights and Julie Ann Walker - absolutely awesome. You’ll be turning the pages as quickly as you can to find out what happens next!
Way to go Ms. Walker, you have done it again!

There are several books in Julie Ann Walker’s series about a clandestine government agency that reports to the President of the United States. They use a motorcycle shop as a cover and go by the name Black Knights Inc. The operatives are all very different and seem to come from some rather intriguing walks of life. One of the hallmarks of these books, is that the relationships form in the middle of life-threatening situations.
This time, we find out what happens when former CIA agent Dagan Zoelner finally confesses his feelings for CIA agent Chelsea Duvall during an undercover operation in London. Dagan and Chelsea have been working together for years and have secretly been attracted to each other although neither one had a clue. They have always fought like kids on the playground so their attraction was obvious to other members of BKI. Complications surrounding this most recent op force the two of them into close quarters and the combustion intensifies to uncontrollable levels. Of course, they can’t deny their passion but Chelsea is keeping a secret that has affected Dagan’s life for years. Everything that happens to them will show that they are meant to be together no matter how much it may seem that the odds are against them.
Dagan and Chelsea have some great banter between them. It’s no wonder that everyone else knows how they feel about each other. Dagan plays the role of brooding protector very well. And Chelsea refuses to play the shrinking violet. She’s a southern gal and her mother didn’t raise a push over. Nonetheless, Chelsea is not a trained killer like Dagan so he doesn’t hesitate to take their assailants out when they threaten Chelsea’s life. As they work together and through their issues, it’s impossible not to root for their happily ever after. They are really great together when they are working as a team. However, it’s kinda fun when they are at odds too. In addition, the other members of the team are just as snarky and quick witted. They all pick on each other but have each other’s backs as well. Julie Ann Walker continues to create a fun world despite the fact that it’s full of guns, violence, and espionage. I am always looking forward to reading the next book.

In a mixed of explosive and intense action, as the protagonist try to fulfill their mission and then escape for their lives, there is a beautiful story of the all-conquering love that comes with forgiveness and loyalty.
If you are not familiar with the Black Knights Inc series and Julie Ann Walker's writing, this would be a great place to get acquainted with them, since the book is completely stand alone and the references to the past BKI books, stories, and even characters are minuscule.
Dagan Zoelner is a mighty hero, that was so easy to like and connect with. He has the past he regrets, mistakes he has made that are still hunting him. He is loyal to his family, he carries his responsibility, he has kindness, even sweetness inside of him that left me breathless, as he shares his dreams and hopes with Chelsea.
Chelsea Duvall is a sassy lady, who can hold her own. Her love for her parents, her dedication to her family, her willingness to do anything for them is obvious. She carries a secret that if exposed could end her career as well as her budding relationship with Dagan. The man she has secretly loved for years who is finally giving her a chance.
I liked Chelsea and Dagan together. The fact that they have known each other for years, and have been lusting for each other, made the eruptive, huge leaps their relationship moved forward believable and sound. The need to express their feelings to each other was palpable, the want to get to know each other in all the possible way tangible, the passion between them swoon-worthy, for sure! It was steamy, all-consuming, and oh, so hot! But it was also heartbreakingly fragile, and honesty and trust were stretched to their limits as their muddle through the deep waters of their past mistakes while working for the CIA.
The action is constant, vicious, and deadly. The suspense and fear for life ceaseless. The criminal case is left partly open, hoping to get more insight to it in the future installment of the BKI series. And I do hope the series continues, even if the hints of it winding down or changing in form were plentiful in the mixed of the tale. Emily and Christian are still bantering and fighting at every chance they got, and even Ace, another member of BKI, gets a man to flirt with.
Hazardous action and frenzied romance, the kind where there is no place to hide, and your only choice are to fight for your life and your future happiness with all you have, fill the pages of this intense, fiery and entertaining romantic suspense story.
~ Four Spoons with the teaspoon on the side

Two things stand out for me in this book. #1 Secrets ALWAYS come back to bite you. #2 If you poke the bear he will attack.
Dagan is more than confident in his abilities in the field and with women. Too bad the one woman he wants drives him mad with her constant argumentative nature. Can't she just follow directions (and fall into his bed)? Not everyone is made for undercover ops. She should not be putting herself in danger. She definitely should not be goading the crime boss!
Chelsea is more than distracted by the sexy Dagan. Too bad he is a constant reminder of the mistakes she made riding a desk for the CIA. Maybe this overseas op will help to balance the past. If they survive this mission she will come clean about her part in the disaster that ruined Dagan's career. Then the ball will be in his court.
We have been anticipating this book through the last two stories, at least. They have been bickering and nit-picking and slowly leading up to this moment. By the end of this book we are all set up for the next pairing. In a great way.

I love the BKI series and Chelsea and Dagen's story was wonderful. It was great to watch the Sparks fly between the two. The story kept you on the edge of your seat all the way to the end.

The Black Knight Inc series has continued with another great suspense-filled steamy romance. Fuel for Fire is ex-CIA Dagan Zoehler and Chelsea Duvall’s HEA! The road to their HEA if filled with an undercover job, escaping danger, a submarine, lots of gun fire, and a huge secret that may put the growing attraction to be severed forever. After the undercover job that Chelsea’s doing in hopes of proving to Dagan her strength goes left, they are forced to leave the country which is next to impossible. In the mist of fleeing they are compelled to act on the attraction that has never far below the surface, but not long after Chelsea realizes she must tell Dagan her secret even knowing she could lose him. To tell him or to continue hiding her secret? She was forced into a complicated situation that effects Dagan and his career in the CIA by protecting her family instead. While Dagan understand the impossible predicament she was in or is he lost to her indefinitely? I loved the novel so much I just couldn’t put it down. Another fabulous book! I can’t wait till the next one! 5 stars.

Walker’s at it again with a new installation of her Black Knights Inc. series about a US clandestine government firm that, well, is destined to save the day. Operative Dagan Zoelner is a badass field operative who does not support the Black Knights’ decision to send analyst Chelsea Duvall into the field to bring down the head of one of the “world’s most nefarious crime syndicates.” She’s smart, good at her job, and capable of anything. She also (unknowingly) holds his heart.

Less than twenty-four hours. That's all it took for me to read this. Literally, could not put it down.
In typical Julie Ann fashion, she's created a world so believable, characters that are so lovable and REAL, that once the book is over, you just want to pick it up again.
This series is by far one of the best ones I've read. I look forward to each release, and Fuel for Fire was no different.
There's a ton of action, lots of drama, and of course, the book wouldn't have been complete without the romance. What I love about this particular story, though, is angst that was added. I've always been a big fan of it, and the angst in this story keeps its grip on you until the very end.
All in all, five huge stars for Julia Ann's latest release!

Fuel For Fire had the perfect mixture of suspense and romance, creating a fiery love story in the middle of a deadly mission. Walker fabulously pulls off, yet again, writing the intricacies of a special team of mercenaries, government protocol, and the mystery behind it all with page-turning suspense and sexiness.
Chelsea and Dagan, whose relationship is anything but cordial and is riddled with unspoken, deeply rooted feelings, are finally on a mission together and Dagan is anything but happy about it. Their constant wit and banter created a great connection between them, pushing the emotions and sexual tension higher the more they ignored their attraction. But through their mission, Dagan’s backstory finally came to light, and, most surprisingly, Chelsea’s connection to it as well. It was filled with pain, suffering, and guilt, written with care and sensitivity.
I adore the BKI men and the family its grown into, and how Walker continually excites and thrills with new stories. Fuel For Fire showcased a great opponent with twists and turns, keeping me on the edge of my seat, and it complemented nicely with the love story. I’m greatly looking forward to the next one.

As with any lengthy series I worry about continuity and the originality of storylines. The author alleviated those worries by delivering a fresh adventurous tale. I very much enjoyed the 'grade school' teasing and the crazy-desperate situations these two find themselves in.
There are still so many remarkable characters that need their story told - Hot Pursuit is up next. Cannot wait to read about Ace finding love!!!

I have been waiting for this book for so long!!!!! Lol. As you all may know we knew about Dagan since book 1 and I believe we were introduced to Chelsea around book 6. If you know anything about Ms. Walker's BKI series, they are filled with emotion, fast paced action and humor so funny you can't help but to laugh out loud. The BKI crew are up to doing good and are away in Europe to catch a man that goes by the code name "Spider". In this developing story we have Chelsea Duvall and Dagan Zoelner. They have been hot for each other since their CIA days but never acted on the attraction because they both thought they were not deserving of each other. Well due to recent events that happened to Chelsea, going undercover when Dagan didn't think that she should because he loves her so much and he can't stand for her to be in danger, though she doesn't know that and thinks he is just giving her a hard time because she believes that he thinks she can't cut it. Phew! Dagan takes a chance and outright kisses her while she was still tied up. I was like WHAT??? Lol Go Dagan! So they finally decide to move on their attraction escaping the clutches of whom they know to be Spider, Chelsea and Dagan get a little hot and heavy, but Chelsea puts a stop to it because she has a big bad secret that she is keeping from Dagan and that is the reason why she has not acted on her attraction to Dagan. Fast forward a bit and they finally decide to act on this crazy hot and undeniable attraction and do the deed. Sex was HAWT!!! I loved every description of that scene, except for the part when she cuts to other characters Emily, Christian and Ace, to be exact, right before Dagan gets ready to seal the deal. Not nice...Lol. They admit their feelings for each other, FINALLY!!! HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY. I fell so much in love with Dagan. He melted every morsel of my heart one of my favorite lines. "I believe that love is the strongest force on the planet. I believe that it really can conquer all. Do you?" * heart melts*. Afterwards...Oh, Oh Chelsea decides to reveal the secret she's been hiding and it's a doozy. Needless to say Dagan was hurt, seriously hurt but so was Chelsea. In the end they are able to work it all out and have their HEA! I should also say that during the course of Chelsea and Dagan's story, we are filled with some of our past characters, we are regaled with Emily and Christian's constant bantering and Ace possibly being with Rusty. Rusty is a friend of Emily's, who helped them when they were trying to escape. Maybe we will get a story on those two? Yummy! Rusty and Ace! Lol. We also get a glimpse of the mysterious Angel, can't wait for his book, that one is going to be very interesting to say the least. Ozzie and Sam, love those two and the dum dum drop sucking Becky. I loved the fact that it did not take forever for Chelsea and Dagan to admit their feelings, the action was steady and kept me fully engaged. Great sarcastic wit thrown all around and we get a sneak peek at why Emily is avoiding getting with Christian. The only problems I had was that I found the reference to Emily's Chicago accent too frequent, the abrupt story line change when Dagan and Chelsea were going to seal the deal and the end, too abrupt. All in all a great book! 4 out of 5 stars!

The first introduction to Z and Chelsea came quite a few books ago, and I was happy to see they were finally getting their turn in the spotlight.
Z and Chelsea have a history, and Chelsea is harboring a Big Bad Secret about Z's separation from the CIA that she just can't bring herself to tell him, especially since he is an expert at being a jerk to her. Nothing she does is ever right, and now that she is the field undercover trying to secure intelligence on the bad guy Spider who has been the central villian to the most recent few books, it is worse than ever. Chelsea doesn't hesitate to give him a healthy dose of snark but a little piece of her withers every time he levels a cutting remark at her.
Z thinks he is protecting her in his own way, but teammate Emily sets him straight about his unacceptable caveman ways and tells him to pull his head out of the appropriate cavity in no uncertain terms. When Chelsea's mission goes sideways, he has no choice but to kick into his default kickass operator mode to get her out of danger but he does it with a bit more thought than usual.
Fuel for Fire had more than its fair share of frustration and UST but when it finally reached the boiling point, the chemistry was explosive and Z showed exactly how much of an alpha caveman he has inside him at times. Some of his commentary had me wondering occasionally if he had a bit of Spock or Sheldon (from Big Bang Theory) in him too which was just a weird dichotomy for me. Chelsea's inner monologue infused with the author's signature sass had me chuckling though. The revelation of The Secret loomed and the question of how Z would handle it was a source of constant stress for Chelsea until she was finally able to get it off her chest. Z's response was expected even if it was less than idyllic, but he redeemed himself in the end.
I thought these two defined the art of sniping at each other, but as the story went on I realized that award goes to Christian and Emily who just love to push each other's buttons. That is going to be one heckuva story and I am certainly looking forward to seeing that pairing work itself out! A few other lesser known members of the team played a big part in Fuel for Fire, and we were given a great mix of familiar faces along with fresh ones who piqued my interest for the future even as BKI's reason for existence is in flux after the election of a new POTUS. All in all, this was a great read!
