***Warning: this is a New Adult book, and for the eyes of mature readers***

Summary (from Goodreads):

Kellan McVey is Burnham College’s most prolific athlete, partier, and ladies’ man—and that’s just how he likes it. Returning to reign for his third year, he wants nothing to change. Then Andrea Walsh shows up.

It wasn’t too long ago that Andi and Kellan were lifelong friends, mortal enemies, and, for one hot summer, more. Then Kellan left and Andi stayed behind.

Kellan thought he’d moved past that last summer’s heartbreak, but with Andi sitting next to him in class, befriending his friends, and battling for the same once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity, he’s starting to remember why he hated her…and why he loved her.

Kellan has a long list of reasons that falling for Andi again is a terrible idea, though every new moment together challenges that theory. But Andi’s all too familiar with Kellan’s love ’em and leave ’em approach—and she’s found someone else to get serious about.

Burnham’s campus king has never had to fight for a girl, but if he wants Andi to give him another chance, he’ll have to do the one thing he’s never had the nerve to do: admit it.

What I Liked:

Undeclared was without doubt my most anticipated New Adult publication of 2017. I loved Undecided - so much it became my new favorite NA book - and I couldn't wait to read the follow-up. While I didn't love this book like I loved Undecided (would that even be possible?), I enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.

Undeclared is Kellan's story, and it starts at the end of summer, leading into the beginning of hir junior year. Before heading back to Burnham for the new academic year, Kellan seeks out his childhood and former hook-up, Andi. He and Andi did not part on good terms two summer ago, before Kellan left for Burnham and Andi stayed in Avilla. Years later, she is still angry with him. And as it would turn out, she is starting her first year at Burnham, with a volleyball scholarship. Kellan is notorious for his promiscuous behavior, but what everyone doesn't know is that he left Avilla two years ago with a broken heart, and wanted a fresh start from Andi. But now that they're back to being in the same space - and having the same friends too - Kellan and Andi can't ignore their brokenhearted past, or their unknown future.

Clearly this is a second-chance romance story, and I will be very upfront by saying that I do not usually like second-chance romances. It's because someone got burned a long time ago, and now here is the story of two hurt people (at least one, anyway) falling in love again... it's not always pretty, it's never fun, and I'm not here for that kind of story. However, I've read several of Keyes' adult novels, and one was a second-chance romance. I loved that book (Time Served). And I loved Undecided (which was not a second-chance romance, by the way), so there was no way I wasn't going to give this book a chance.

Both Kellan and Andi are hurt about what happened two summers ago (when the "broke up", Kellan went to Burnham, Andi stayed in Avilla). Andi has always openly loved Kellan, but Kellan could never force the words into his brain, let alone out of his mouth. Fast-forward to now - there is even more angst and heartbreak between the two of them. With Kellan's literal list of women he's hooked up with between him and Andi, and Andi being tired of waiting for Kellan, you know this story isn't going to be easy. And it wasn't. But... that's one of the things I liked about it.

This book is written in Kellan's point-of-view, which was awesome! Exclusively his first-person POV. I loved getting in his head, when it came to track, Andi, his promiscuous past, his friends. It broke my heart, experiencing his feelings whenever his sexcapades were brought into conversation by one idiot or anything, because you can tell how Kellan isn't proud of himself anymore. Kellan has matured so much, between Undecided and Undeclared, but also in Undeclared. He has so much more depth than what everyone expects (the jock playboy who will sleep with anyone). This book is about Kellan, and not just his romance with Andi. He matures and becomes a better guy, a better student, a better athlete, and a better person in general. I like Kellan 2.0.

I was surprised when I actually liked Andi, from the start. I thought I'd dislike her initially because she was the one that put the brakes on their "relationship" those summers ago, and honestly she was a little mean to him, when they first start interacting at Burnham. But then I put myself in her shoes... honestly, she was much nicer than I would have been. My petty butt would have been vicious.

Anyway, Andi was fine in the beginning and she grew on me even more. I didn't really like that she was interested in another guy at first (I like the romance linear), but I didn't mind because that ended up trickling out less than halfway, and she wasn't interested in him like she was in Kellan. Even though Andi wasn't one to play games, she was quite good at getting Kellan to notice her and want to seek her out. Andi is smart and also protective of her heart - and with good reason.

Watching the pair stumble along and find their way was hard, heartbreaking, but also sweet and sometimes steamy. They fight constantly in the beginning, and that leads to some other passionate encounters... they are great together. The romance is different because they both already loved each other - but they grew into those feelings, and that was fun and swoony to watch. They have to hash out and work through a lot of stuff, but it was worth the angst and occasional (small) drama.

No love triangle, no cheating, no surprise babies - it's all Kellan and Andi (though at first, like I said, it seems like Andi might be into someone else). I don't really like the diversion bit (Andi being interested in someone else) but it served a purpose. The romance is both bittersweet and swoony, steamy and passionate.

I loved how the male relationships are so important in this book. Crosbie, Dane, Choo, and several other male characters make a lot of appearances in this book, and they are so crucial to Kellan's story. They're a hilarious and solid support system for Kellan, whether he knows it or not. She's not a dude but Nora (Crosbie's girlfriend) is also frequently in this book, and I loved all of her and Crosbie's snippets. They are the cutest!

I've probably said enough! This book was great overall. I'm not a big fan of second-chance romance novels, but this one was good. I think Keyes did Kellan's story justice.

What I Did Not Like:

The diversion aspect of the romance could have just not existed (Andi being interested in the basketball player - they didn't "do" anything, for anyone wondering). Sure, there was nothing sexual about Andi and the basketball player BUT that whole plot point was unnecessary.

I've mentioned how I struggle with second-chance romances so if you're like me, know that this book has those aspects of second-chance romances that you struggle with (the angst, the heartbreak, the anger, the hurt, and a wee bit of drama). It's not terrible, like some books?

Would I Recommend It:

I didn't love this book like I loved Undecided (again, probably because of the second-chance romance aspect), but I liked it a lot and I don't think it disappointed at all. I definitely missed the funny back-and-forth banter of Crosbie and Nora's relationship, but Kellan and Andi's relationship had its own tone and quality to it, and for that, I can't fault the book. I do recommend this book if you've read Undecided. If you haven't read Undecided and are thinking about starting with this book (Undeclared)... don't - read Undecided (first). You won't regret it!

Rating:

4 stars. A solid companion sequel and addition to the series. I liked this book and I adored Kellan even more than I already did. I think he really redeemed himself in this book, with Andi and in general. Take whatever you thought about him in Undecided and be prepared to take a closer look at this guy!

Kellan McVey is known at Burnham College for having a long list of conquests. For those who read book 1, Undecided, you will remember him going through this list and calling people on it when he was having...ahem..issues o.O

Kellan is known for being a lady's man, but he is more than that as he is athletic, is a good friend, likes to cook and beneath it all has a big heart.

I have been dying to read Undeclared as I fell in love with this character when I first met him. In this book, we meet Andrea Walsh aka Andi, a girl who was a good friend to Kellan growing up, someone who was known to have a crush on him and then one day just stopped talking to him. Andi comes to school on a scholarship unbeknown to Kellan and now it's Kellan's turn to fight for the girl - for both her friendship that he misses and her heart.

I truly enjoyed a look into Kellan 2.0's life...how he matured and grew as a character. I absolutely LOVED the bantering between Kellan and Andi, how they pick at each other to get the other riled up was cute and maddening at the same time. And for me, the author's writing is spot on.

However I felt that there was something I was missing between these characters. I never really fell in love with Andi as Kellan's love interest, maybe because of her aloofness and her being so standoffish to him though I understood where she was coming from as he has hurt her time and time again. And while I still enjoyed the book, I just wanted more...maybe more time for them to be together, more communication, more emotions...just more...I LOVE Kellan and wished I enjoyed Andi's character more. Maybe if I had gotten her POV that would have changed my feelings about her as I never really connected to her.

While Undecided is still my favorite in this series, I still enjoyed reading Kellan's journey in Undeclared. This is a must read series for me and I plan on continuing with it and with this author as she is truly gifted and I enjoy her stories.

I really liked this book even though Kellan is so frustrating. I mean he is the embodiment of "turning a blind eye". Andi, I loved. Being a tomboy and into sports myself when I was younger made me feel a kinship to her in many ways. I was the only girl in my class with 7 other boys (Yep it was a small class because we chose a different curriculum). Girls asked me to help them get the attention of my classmates and the guys treated me as one of the boys. So yeah pretty much went through what Andi did as Kell's best friend. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

But props to Andi for putting up with his crap for so long. I'd have given up way sooner than she did. So, all in all, it is a fun read because New Adult co-eds do some really dumb things and are quite clueless about their feelings.

I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from NetGalley for voluntary review consideration.

Undeclared was one of my most anticipated reads for 2017. I adored the writing style, characters, and humor that made Undecided one of my favorite books of 2016, and I could not wait to delve into this one. Julianna Keyes did not disappoint. This book was everything that I was hoping it would be. It brought me back to the campus with that familiar cast of characters that I enjoyed so much. It was brimming with all the humor, tension, and chemistry that makes the New Adult genre so irresistible.

If you’ve read Undecided, you are already acquainted with Kellan McVey. This book is written entirely from his point of view. Julianna Keyes did a fantastic job of channeling a college-aged young man. I felt as though I was right there with him and his group of friends, experiencing all of the high jinks and tribulations that accompanied them.

Kellan is the campus ladies’ man, a player, an athlete. He has made quite the reputation for himself; a reputation that he had basked in during his first couple of years at Burnham College. During Kellan’s second year, his…ahem…activities caught up with him in the worst possible way and, well, it proved to him that there were consequences to his actions. Kellan was determined to become a better version of himself. He was going to be a more responsible student, a new and improved Kellan, or Kellan 2.0, as he liked to call it.

I loved witnessing Kellan’s attempts at changing himself. His good looks and charm helped him along in his quest to be Mr. Popular in college, but he wasn’t a bad guy. He was a loyal, caring, thoughtful friend. Yes, he sometimes came across as shallow and oblivious to the feelings of others. Yes, he had made some bad choices and decisions. He was a young guy away from home trying to live his college days to the fullest. But college is a learning experience in more ways than just inside the classrooms and auditoriums. Kellan was learning that he had to change his ways, reinvent himself, to be true to himself and not be the version that all of his peers expected him to be.

If anyone could handle Kellan, it was Andi. She had been his friend and neighbor since they were children. She had the advantage of knowing the person that he was before going off to college. She knew the boy that she played with, the boy that she fought with, the boy that always had a piece of her heart but who never returned her affection. She had loved him for years, but now she was ready to live her life to the fullest as a student at Burnham. Oh, the chemistry between Kellan and Andi was intense. Their relationship was nothing short of complicated, and they were both harboring hard feelings toward the other.

Julianna Keyes has created a phenomenal cast of characters that I couldn’t help but be invested in. Her clever, witty writing and storytelling ability just hit all the marks for me. The dialogue and banter was second to none. I think that I read the majority of the book with a grin on face. I was reading, laughing, and highlighting dozens of passages so that I could read them to my husband. It was a fast-paced read that kept me highly entertained and glued to the pages. Undeclared was everything that a book in this genre should be. I couldn’t have asked for a better book for Kellan. I loved every single minute that I spent reading it!

This was such a sweet and real romance! I loved every minute and just how rich everything was. It's a more realistic romance than many in the genre - in an oh-so-good way.

I really liked and enjoyed Andi's character. She was stubborn and very relatable, especially for someone like me who isn't especially "girly."

Kellan was a pleasure and I liked getting inside his head. He is a bit thick but loveable anyway. The way that this was all from his perspective worked really well with the story, and I feel like Keyes did an excellent job of capturing the tone of a male voice without being crude or juvenile.

I also liked how well-rounded this was, overall. Kellan doesn't just go to class - his class subjects blend into the story like they would in real life, inspiring new ways of looking at things going on in his life. His friends aren't just friends, supporting him - they are multi-dimensional people with their own lives going on, but not in a distracting way. For those of us who read the first book, Undecided, we get little updates on what Crosbie and Nora are up to in subtle and occasional mentions.

The "second-chance" aspect, as well as the "chilhood friends reunited" aspect, are really well done. I really liked the way Kellan and Andi's history is shared with us and the way he is trying to figure out how and why he feels the way he does, and how to talk to her. It felt very genuine and there was the perfect amount of showing without too much "telling."

Overall, I really, really liked this! I know there may not be anymore in this series, but I wouldn't mind getting a Dane or Choo story eventually!

4.5 AMAZING and Hysterical Stars!

Whenever I read a Julianna Keyes novel I know that I am going to have a smile on my face for most of the novel. I also know that there will be an amazing hero who will win me over and a heroine who will be his match in every way. This is EXACTLY what happened while reading Undeclared. I absolutely LOVED this book and did not want it to end. I could not get enough of Kellan and Andi and the whole Burnham family!

Kellan and Andi have history. After being lifelong neighbors, bestfriends and lovers (for one magical summer) it's all gone to hell. Despite being in love with him her whole life, Andi no longer speaks to him and after two years of the silent treatment, she is now a student at Burnham University. What happens when the Big Man on Campus faces a situation he's never been in before - the possibility of a life without Andi as she moves on from him and life in his big shadow. Will he realize what was in front of him all along?

"Because I can't wait for you. I cant always be waiting."

"Waiting around like an idiot for you to see what's been in front of you your whole life. But you just keep looking for something better."

I absolutely LOVED this book. I can freely admit I outright needed this. I wanted to revisit Kellan, Crosbie, Nora and the rest of the gang! I loved their comradery and the perfect chemistry between them all. I also loved the humor. Good Lord. I was probably outright laughing my behind off for a good majority of this novel. The sarcasm and the one-line quips. I could not get enough!! I also loved that the novel was completely told from Kellan's perspective but Ms. Keyes so aptly described Andi's emotions to a T. It was perfectly done without (officially) being dual perspective but in a way it kind of was. I felt Andi's pain and frustration through Kellan's eyes and at times I wanted to beat him over the head right along with her. I felt the emotions of both protagonists even though the novel was only told through one. It was perfectly done!

While I would have loved an epilogue and maybe some resolution of Kellan's career plans, this was an amazing book and I seriously can not wait for Ms. Keyes' next book. She has been on my automatic one-click list for a very long time. Bravo ~ 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

A fantastic author. Another amazing story in this series. Excellent writing and very entertaining. So hard to put down.

“Undeclared”, the second book in the Burnham College series features Kellan the ultimate manwhore at Burnham and his childhood friend, Andi. Andi and Kellan have major history - their friendship started when they were 5 years old. There is definite chemistry between them but there is also a whole world of broken hearts and unresolved feelings that they need to weed through.

I did not get a chance to read the first book in this series but I was able to fit the pieces and backstory together rather easily and the book had great dialogue between the group of friends and they did end up in some very funny situations. I would definitely say this is a good read.

I received a copy of this book through Net Galley for my honest review.

This was my first book from Julianna Keys and I'm sure it won't be my last. The story is well written and I really liked Andi and Kellan. I specially liked the fact that we see their story from his POV. This is a standalone but it'd be better to read Undecided prior to this one.

I love Kellan!! I felt so sorry for him and I might be the only one who does but part of me just wanted to hug him!! This is a book that I had a bunch of mixed feelings about. The sex in this was OTT but in this case I thought it lent to the storyline. Some authors throw sex in just to throw it in with no purpose whatsoever but in this book, I felt that it worked to help with the story. She did something that made me read it and not put down, which I would have in anything else.

Andi is a complicated person. She grew up next door to Kellan and the summer before he left for college they had a sex-filled summer. He didn't want to go away to college a virgin and they decided to see each other that summer and Kellan fell for Andi. It takes Andi a couple of years to get a scholarship to college and when she gets one, it's to the college that Kellan's attending. Wonder of wonders, she acts like she doesn't know him and that ticks him off. Which in turn, also makes him go after her even harder.

This was an awesome, quick read and I will read the next book when it comes out. I have a new author that I've added to my list of TBR list. The only caution was that the language and sexual content was excessive at times and that may have taken away from the storyline sometimes.

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on Netgalley for a honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

ARC received from publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Kellan and Andrea's story. Kellan, in the first book in the series, faces an unfortunate predicament that forces him to rethink his life choices. In this book, Kellan 2.0 as he's taken to calling it, has a chance at reclaiming a love he thought was lost to him, only if he's brave enough to reach for it.

I like a good second chance romance and I really appreciated that Andrea did not let Kellan off the hook so easily but really made him work for it. The premise felt really fresh and real because Kellan's desire to not settle too soon but rather his wanting to "live" - well, that's a very common and human desire.

However, my favorite part of the book was not the romance but rather the bromance - Crosbie, Kellan, Dane, and Choo made for a hilarious combination (I hope Dane and Choo, er, Gary get their own books). Their friendship felt real and genuine and made for some of the funniest scenes in the book.

All in all, a really entertaining read.

Undeclared is a second chance NA romance featuring a hero of questionable moral fiber and a pragmatic heroine. It is also the follow up book to Undecided (which is a really great book in its own right). While it is not necessary to read Undecided to enjoy and understand this book, I would recommend reading it first as I think it gives a good foundation of how Kellan's character spent his first few years of college. Plus, the story of Crosby and Nora should not be missed!

I liked Kellan. Yes, he had spent several years in a disturbing spiral down the slippery slope of dubious sexual behavior, but ultimately he did end up realizing how empty and dangerous this type of behavior can be. I also really felt that he cared deeply for Andi and had cared deeply for her for most of his life. He did treat her shabbily many times but he was still growing up basically. I think the mistakes that Kellan made were understandable as he tried to figure out life and relationships as the book progressed. Basically, his body was much more fully developed than his mind and interpersonal skills. If it walks like a man and talks like a man it might actually just be a confused boy pretending to be a man.

Andi was also well written and likable. She was true to herself and didn't try and change herself to please anyone or pretend to be someone other than who she was. She was a tough young woman who tried to stick to her principles and tried to navigate adulthood in a mature manner.

I also liked that this was not an instalove romance. I'm always a little bit skeptical of a storyline when a promiscuous man suddenly becomes a mate for life monogamist five minutes after he meets his love interest. (Honestly, if a man insists he loves you after gazing at your adoringly for a few minutes you should smile and walk backwards out the door avoiding all eye contact.)

Undeclared is a funny and well paced novel with just enough drama to keep it interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romance or NA novels.

Undecided was a complete gem, earning a spot as one of my top reads of 2016; so naturally, I was giddy at the thought of jumping back into campus life at Burnham College.

Let me just get it over with and put this out there - Kellan is no Crosbie. Not even close.

Kellan, Crosbie’s best friend and Nora’s old roommate, was the quintessential frat guy, in book one. Can you say total douchebag? He checked the requisite boxes for every cliché, so there’s no point in avoiding the obvious; he started this story off with a huge disadvantage. Nothing insurmountable by any means, but he had a lot to prove before I would ever even consider joining Team Kellan. We’ve all seen it done countless times before, a manwhore changing his spots for the right girl, and I figured if anyone could pull it off, it might be Julianna Keyes. She did deliver Crosbie after all.

It breaks my heart even having to admit this, but UNDECLARED was no where near as special to me as Crosbie and Nora’s story. I love a second chance romance, it’s probably my favorite storyline in this genre, and for one reason in particular - the history between the couple usually cements a deeper connection. A stronger bond. Something more than just lust. Not so much for Kellan and Andi.

Even though we're told little tidbits of their shared past - growing up together as best friends and worst enemies and ultimately spending a few months as “summer sex friends" - it didn't translate to the two people standing in front of me. I never felt the intensity between Kellan and Andi on a deeper level and the fact that there are zero meaningful conversations between them, only made it worse. That's my take, at least. I wanted more. More personality. More passion. More depth. More of that spark I felt in UNDECIDED.

This might not be my favorite book, but I’m almost positive it won’t be my last from this author.

I enjoyed this book and found all the characters developed. This installment of the series focuses on Kellan and his 3rd yr in College and his childhood friend Andie.
He left her back in their hometown 2yrs prior when he left for college and she was no longer speaking to him, but one quick trip home before his Jr Yr they become reaquainted before he leaves again. Now he's back at school and wants to change his reputation after an "incident" the previous year. He is also still thinking about Andie and there conversation. However, the last thing he expects is to find her at his school.......

You get to watch him grow up, man up and learn, take responsibility..... The story was easy to follow and get into. I only wish the ending was less anti-climatic. But other than that I probably look up the 1st book and read the rest of the series.

Interesting story and really likeable characters! Totally worth the read

When I first met Kellan in Undecided, I wasn't really sure if I liked him or not. IHe had good traits but there were things I didn't like about him. I'm so glad this author took a chance and gave Kellan his own story to tell because it was fantastic! There were parts that had me laughing out loud - some of the dialog between Kellan and his friends was absolutely hilarious. I really enjoyed the relationships he had with his friends and their witty banter. Kellan wasn't anything like I was expecting - he was sensitive and unsure of himself at times. I loved that this book was told entirely from Kellans POV - I think that is what made this story work so well, even though I didn't always agree with his actions, it was easy to understand why he made the decisions he did. This was a fun, mostly light, steamy and funny story and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good college romance! I really hope this author continues this series because I would love to read more about some of the side characters. I loved this book so much - it's a top pick of 2017 for me and I can't wait to re-read it.

This book was a good, but uncomfortable read. It's all Kellan's fault. The thoughts in that guy's head are enough to make most girls cringe. I got the reasoning behind his choices. They were pretty understandable -- but understanding doesn't mean liking. No girl wants to go through what Andi went through because of a guy. As a woman, I couldn't empathize with Kellan. Kellan was an idiot. I could only empathize with what I was imagining Andi was going through.

Which brings me to my next thought about Undeclared. Being in Kellan's brain was insightful, but I would have really liked to know what was going on in Andi's mind. I liked her character and how Kellan described her. I felt like she would have been more of an inspiring character to hear their love story through. I wanted to know what she thought about Kellan's past couple of years at college. I wanted to know what continued to draw her to him besides his obvious good looks.

My favorite part of Undeclared had to be when Kellan is knocked off his throne. I loved seeing him finally discovering what was most important in life. His friends and family were so pivotal in that, and that was very cool. I liked their support of him, no matter how stupid he acted. I absolutely love the friendships in this series.

Despite my frustrations with Kellan, I still liked reading Undeclared. I'm a fan of Julianna Keyes' writing and her Burnham College series. I'm happy I got to get to know Kellan better after meeting him in Undecided. I'm hoping this series will have many more books to come featuring Choo, Dane, and Marcela.

So… you might remember that awhile back I read and reviewed Undecided, which I loved, and that is book one of this series. Contrary to what the cover made you think, the book didn’t have a love triangle at all, but Kellan – the MC for THIS book – was kind of in the way of Nora and Crosbie. I really liked Kellan and was super curious about him, which is the reasons for me requesting this book as soon as it became available on netgalley, and reading it as soon as I was approved.

I’m sadden to say that this book didn’t quite work for me.

The book is told through Kellan’s POV and only his POV, and while I usually love books only told through the guy’s POV, I felt like I really needed Andi’s view of things on this one. This comes from the fact that while Kellan was a pretty entertaining guy, he is not the best narrator. I couldn’t connect to him at all.

To put things into context, Kellan and Andi have known each other since they were 5, they were always close, until the summer where they were more than friends, and after that Kellan left for college and Andi never spoke to him again. Until Andi starts college, at Burnham, and Kellan can’t stay away from her.

I came to this book already being fond of Kellan, because even though he made some pretty big mistakes in Undecided and was an asshole sometimes, I kind of thought that there was more to him than that. After all, he was a great friend to Nora and Crosbie, and he was super funny. So, there is more to him than that, but it didn’t quite make up for all the assholiness…

I understood his fears, but like Nora, Kellan lived for what other people thought of him, but while Nora managed to rise above it in a way, Kellan wanted to but never truly did. I liked his mostly happy attitude, but I hated how he was painted as dumb – and this happened multiple times. I hated that he knew what he did wrong towards Andi, but never truly tried to do anything about it. And to be honest, I didn’t quite get how and why everything was handed to him…

Now, you might think “well… she must have at least liked Andi, right?“… yeah, NO. Again, I understood her, she had been in love with a guy she thought she didn’t stood a chance with for her whole live. She wanted to be free of that, she wanted to be herself, so she goes after another guy… and then she makes some stupid decisions. Here I think her POV would have solved a lot, because she was such an interesting character, but I felt like I never really truly “heard” her, you know?

I really really liked the core of the story, and that’s what kept me engaged. There is a lot of character growth, and facing your fears is a tough thing to do. I’m sorry that I didn’t exactly feel much chemistry between the main characters though…

However, there was some things in the plot that I could have done without, mainly the television contest. Ultimatly, it is not important at all and it contributed nothing to the story. Also, I felt like it was highly unbelievable. Why would a TV presenter contact Kellan directly to ask him to audition? I know Kell is a big shot, but he runs track, and I didn’t get it. o_O Also, unfortunately I found the pacing slightly off, and the book felt really slow to me.

Another positive thing about this book though was the friendships. I loved the love and support that Kellan’s friends showed him. Those were some awesome bonds, and I loved when they all got together.

So, to sum it up, I really liked the story, but couldn’t quite connect with the characters and the pacing felt off. But still, read it! But read book 1 first, otherwise you will be highly spoiled.

If there was ever a New Adult College Sports Guys Romance Writers Hall of Fame, Julianna Keyes should be a member along with Elle Kennedy, Jen Frederick, and Kristen Callihan. I have to admit that I had some doubts she could follow her amazing first NA, Undecided with anything as fun and fresh but rest assured, Kellan and Andi's story was a very worthy follow-up.

Although Kellan's realization about his feelings for Andi was a lot like Crosbie and Nora's awakening, there is nothing formulaic about this refreshingly realistic and relatable romance. I love a good chase, and Kellan's bumbling pursuit of Andi with assists by his guy crew was so much fun. The side characters - Crosbie, Nora, Marcela, Nate, Dane, and (my favorite) Choo - were so hilarious and sweet that I was seriously disappointed by the lack of an epilogue wrapping up their lives. I really hope that the author is not done with her Burnham College series.
