Not my usual fare, but thanks to Netgalley, I was able to take a chance on this title and go with it.
My first impressions: Oliver is a fantastic writer and drew me into her story. The thing about "Smoke Drink F*#K" is that Oliver never really had these huge, orchestrated epiphanies (like the ones we read about in other memoirs) that change a person's life on the spot and grant them wisdom, courage, and open doors to make a new life right then and there. No, Oliver's lessons came slower and through a few hard knocks, a couple great conversations with her cast of characters, and a little time with herself.
The story (memoir) is a collection of small, slow encounters that change the course of her life and how she views her relationships with others and with herself. A beautiful read with plenty of snarky humor to help you along the way
