Ok I guess you can't like them all and one was not really for me. It didn't hold my attention and while I resisted deleting it before I'd finished I would not recommend it as a good read. Ok in places - hence the two stars but didn't blow me away

Kathy Reichs has done it again! She has created another damaged but very loavable character, Sunnie Night. I wasn't sure this new character would be able to stand up to and be different enough from Kathy's famous character Temperance Brennan, but she does. Sunnie and the book itself have both a very different feel to Tempe and the books about her. I hope there will be several more Sunnie books. I highly recommend it!

I have read all of Kathy Reichs books, but they are all the same characters and just different stories, so you already know what you are going to get going in.
Two Nights is different, the story unfolds, but not in a straight line, which is very interesting. I like the characters and am really looking forward to more about them. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend to anyone who likes Mystery and Thrillers. It was an easy read not really like her "Bones" series at all. Just well written. Treat yourself

loved this because there were new characters to get to know and enjoyed the storyline totally fooled by the under lying story

Wow and OMG and Whoa. How else could I describe this book. It is engaging from the first to the last page. You seriously do not want to put it down because you are scared you will miss something. It is so well written you just want more. I know the book had to end but I did not want it too.

Reich's famous for her Temperance Brennan novels is now branching out into stand-alone novels. In style I might add. Reich introduces a character Sunday Night a former marine and cop. Yes she has issues but takes on the job because it is similar to her own story. Reich's even explains the unusual name. Sunday is a strong female character with a strong sense of humor, and her sarcasm is at a level of true dedication. It all adds to the story and who Sunday is.

Reich's develops the story at a nice steady pace and there are many twists and turns along the way, I have to admit I did not see the whole ending coming. Parts became obvious over the course of the book but I did not expect the leader to be who it turned put to be. Reich's deserves praise for that alone. I love a good mystery and she fooled me.

This book is very well written and I can see many having reservations about it because there is no Bones. My advice is read it ignoring all you know about the author and I think maybe your perception will change.

Would I recommend this book? Definitely YES.

I haven't read a Kathy Reichs book for many years but I thought I'd give a new protagonist a try. I thought this was an OK read but nothing special.

The bulk of the narrative is by Sunday Night (oh, please!), an ex-military, ex-cop who has all sorts of demons in her past and is living as a virtual recluse on a tiny island in South Carolina. She is recruited to find and either kill or bring to justice a group of four people who planted a bomb which killed members of the family of a very wealthy old lady.

The beginning is very good. Sunday's (oh, please!) narrative voice is snappy and convincing, the set-up is well done and Reichs creates some believable characters. This carried on for a good deal of the book, but the smart comebacks did get a bit much, the emergence of Sunday's (oh, please!) Traumatic Past and her bond to a victim she'd never met didn't really convince me and the plot, while no more absurd than many books in this genre, was pretty implausible. Add to this a lot of very lengthy details about geography and exactly what food was eaten by absolutely everyone at every meal and so on, plus some long and pretty vacuous psychologising (not to mention some absurdly unlikely reasons for not informing the police about an impending major atrocity) and things did begin to pall for me.

There are also some plot holes; for example, the baddie seems to know an impossibly large amount about Sunday's (oh, please!) activities, but we're never told how he does it other than "I have my sources" and that he's "good with gadgets," apparently. There are other problems, and they do get in the way a bit.

I did finish Two Nights, it's certainly no worse than a lot of thrillers and might make a diverting afternoon's beach read, but only a lukewarm recommendation from me, I'm afraid.

It doesn’t matter how experienced, famous or acclaimed an author is, it is always difficult to change genres or start a new series. Not difficult in a writing sense, but rather living up to the expectations of their readers or fans.

When you have a long running successful series, that’s without counting the legions of fans who watch the tv show based on the Temperance Brennan character, readers are eager to see or read about their favourite character on a regular basis. They are perhaps a little less eager to embrace an entirely new venture or main character.

I really enjoyed this new venture and can’t wait to read more about Sunday and Gus.

Kudos to Reichs for creating a main character with an airport carousel full of baggage. Sunday isn’t your standard candy floss and fluffy unicorn type of character. She has a past full of abuse, aggression and manipulation. On top of that she is a veteran suffering from PTSD.

Her whole life revolves around safety measures and paranoia. She is abrupt, short-tempered and doesn’t give two hoots about being politically correct or adhering to any kind of rules.

When she is hired by a grande dame of society she cares less about the money and more about the young girl in the midst of a dangerous group. This is actually where the story gets an added twist. The reader gets short glimpses of a young girl being held captive and abused. It is fair to say that everything is not exactly as it seems.

Two Nights, nice play on the names by the way, is an invigorating new series with a bolshy leading lady. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Sunday or her elusive brother. It has plenty of potential and it deals with some hard-hitting issues. I think Reichs should take a few more walks on the wild side and spread her literary tentacles into a few other ventures.

Two nights is the latest book from Kathy Reichs and hopefully the start of a new series.
Two nights introduces the brilliant character, Sunday Night a very tough cookie. Sunnie has a checked past that keeps the reader intrigued.

Two nights is a fast paced book that has many twists and turns. Keeping the reader on their toes.

A standalone story by Kathy Reichs and very different from the Temperance Brennan series. Lots of great characters and an absorbing storyline with twists and turns and fast paced but a little something missing. Absorbing read.

I recollect a phrase, "Two nations divided by a common language." This best describes the inability I had in trying to tune in to the garammar style and acronyms of Two Nights. However, I soldiered on and am so glad I did! It was dryly witty, fast paced and full of action. Not too much dubious tech either. Not too sure about the ability to water cannon an explosive filled pressure cooker but it was a fun read.

This is my first kathy Reichs novel I have read so I was looking forward to reading this. The Story is about Sunday Night, yes that's her name. Ex Military, ex cop, now living like a recluse. Comes out of retirement to find a granddaughter of a wealthy woman. Her parents were killed when her school was bombed. She seemed to have disappeared and they think that she was kidnapped by the bombers. The story also talks about the past and present of Sundays life. She is helped on the case by her twin brother Gus.
I did enjoy this and there was a lot of action in this story but I thought it was a bit confusing when they talked about her past as it wasn't really clear it was about her. But saying that it is sill worth the read.

This was a most enjoyable read. So nice to see a new main character from Kathy Reichs. The strong female lead's back story is most intriguing and the novel's plot is fact paced and a perfect platform to introduce this new series.

A wonderful new character - tough, damaged but fun to read. I hope that there will be more!

I have loved Kathy Reich's books for so long then the tv series Bones was fabulous, and now she has a new female lead Sunny Nite. I loved every minute of this book and it held so many twists and turns and surprises by end I wanted to read it again
This will appeal to many of her Bones fans but it is also a gripping psychological thriller that will teach them about how good thrillers are written.
Superb

Two Nights is a stand alone novel by Kathy Reichs, I was lucky to get an ARC copy of this book for a review. The book is realised either 29th June 2017 or 11th July 2017 depending on your country.

Two nights follows Sunday Night, she has retired the military and now she has after left the police forces due to disability, she is brought into a case to pull her out of being a recluse. 1 year ago a bomb was set of at a Jewish Girls school, killing a mother and son her daughter never found. Sunday is hired by the grandmother to find the people responsible and to find out the fate of her granddaughter. When Sunday goes to Chicago and starts digging for the truth, Sunday realise that there is more going on that just a missing Girl, and why she feels so connected to this missing girl.

I must admit that when I first started reading the book I didn't realise that Sunday was a women, as we are first information we are giving is her situation and not her appearance. The story was really interesting, the outcome of the story isn't one I would have guessed at the beginning. I also like the way in which the author gave us information about Sunday without realising it. I want to know more about Sunday and her twin brother Gus maybe a prequel as from some smell pieces of information sounded interesting.

If you like crime fiction where the character are not restricted by the rules of law enforcement than give this book a read.

4.6 out of 5

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Two Nights is about Sunday (Sunnie) Night, former cop and now being privately employed to find missing 16 year old Stella Bright.

It took me a few chapters to get into this book and getting used to Sunnie after being so used to Tempe Brennan. But I really love Kathy Reichs, her writing and all her books. If I didn't have to be an adult every now and then, I'd happily devour this book in one.

This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Kathy Reichs book.. To some extent I enjoyed it and in some parts I felt disconnected. Sunday 'Sunnie' Night, is a bit shady character. Once a respectable Charleston police cop, and now an ex-cop, just because she couldn't accept the idea of a desk job on suffering scarring both external and internal. She currently lives the life of a recluse in a secluded Island. Her foster father, Beau brings her a year old case. There she meets Opaline Drucker, a rich socialite who's looking for answers of her daughter and her grandson's death in some Jewish school bombing. And is seeking Sunnie's help in finding her lost granddaughter Stella in the same bombing. The rush of danger and unanswered questions makes Sunnie to accept the job and takes her to Chicago then Los Angeles and again back to Old South.
As the plot grows, Sunnie's past and personal scars are brought to limelight.
I honestly felt it to be a bit fast paced. This thriller novel ain't for me.

Everyone's talking about her Temperance Brennan story..thinking about reading it..
