I am a Huge fan of Alexa Riley's books and their amazing work. I love and enjoy reading their Novellas so much and I was so happy after reading Full Length novel Everything For Her. Oz and Mallory love story stole my heart and I was anxiously waiting to read His Alone.
Captain and Paige Beautiful, Passionate, Sexy Love Story melt me and I really Loved it.
I Would Highly Recommend all the Readers to read fantastic book now. It's Simply Amazing.
This was my first book from Alex Riley and I wasn't sure what to expect.
Paige seemed like she was trying too hard to keep her secrets hidden and Ryan was coming on a little too strong for me. I'm all for an alpha male and whatnot, but I felt like it was a little too much in an instalove situations for me. Overall, I think the story was fine, it just wasn't my vibe at the moment.
3.5 out of 5 stars.
I received a free ARC from the publisher and NetGalley; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
His Alone is the second book in Alexa Riley's For Her series. Oh. This story. Ryan is definitely book boyfriend material.
Not Alexa Riley's best work. I definitely like their self-pub books better. This one was alright, but their style of writing didn't translate well to a longer book in my opinion. Just an okay read.
This story was just ok. I have read Alexa riley's short stories in the past and I really enjoyed them. I found myself wishing they were longer, however with this that was not the case, I really wish it was shorter and that some of the story lines maybe weren't there. They were a lot of parts that just didn't really fit well. Plus we are just supposed to be ok with a character killing 5 people.. I mean come on.. plus the instalove killed me.. 3 star read from me.
I have to say that I was looking forward to this story after reading Everything for Her... it does not disappoint! Paige and Ryan definitely have chemistry and when they finally allow it loose it definitely does not dim.
Paige has proven herself to be a great friend (yes, that may have begun as a job but) and is trying to learn how to be a sister but she isn't quite willing to open her heart or her life up to anyone. She's attracted to Captain (Ryan) who happens to be her boss but she thinks he's too good for her. She takes on guilt for things that weren't her fault and is trying to find revenge on someone who deserves it but honestly isn't worth the damage she is doing to herself. I liked her and especially liked how she pushed Ryan's buttons while making sure that once she claimed what was hers she let everyone know it. She's not afraid to get dirty but she is terrified of the need she feels to have a true family. She wants love so badly that she hides from it until forced to admit that is what she craves. I loved how she ultimately got everything because one man decided that he would make it his mission to give the world to her.
Ryan, aka Captain, isn't the perfect guy Paige believes and we get to see there is more to him at the beginning of this book. He's so damn growly and sweet with Paige that you can't help but swoon. Everything he does is to keep her safe even if it means keeping her away from him for years. I loved how we got to see their first meeting as a bonus chapter from his point of view as this shows us how hard it was for him to be patient. I also loved how we got to see his struggle with waiting to claim her until she really was his. I felt for him as his secret was exposed but he knew it might go down the way it did and while it hurt he still did what needed to be done. I admit his ways of showing his dirty side made me swoon as much if not more than his gentle ways of showing how much she means to him.
The epilogues to this story will make you smile as they show how much these two have gained over their years together and laugh as his protective side does not diminish over time. He's definitely growly and possessive but with a heart of gold when it comes to those who mean everything to him. Paige is his world and seeing that it remains true for years in the future made me smile.
After reading first book, I had to get to this book.
Paige is Mallory (first book heroine)’s best friend/detail security, Mallory’s soon to be husband’s half sister. She only has one goal in her mind, that is to kill her father who murdered her mother right in front of her when she was only fifteen years old. Since then she wanted a revenge.
When Miles found out about Paige, he offered her a job and she took it as being Mallory’s security detail. While she was working for Miles, she is closely works with Ryan.
When Ryan saw picture of Paige for the first time, he swore he would protect her no matter what. Ever since then he has been close and watching over her. Not only Ryan working for Miles, he has secret of his own.
Now Paige only wants revenge but she is losing her ground and who will save her?
Paige is strong yet tender when she is with Ryan and she finally opens up to someone other than Mallory and finally finds someone who will love her unconditionally.
Obsession seems like the theme for both of the books and I enjoyed them both.. I can’t wait to read the next one..
Fantastic, full of passion, all that you can expect about the authors
His Alone is the second book in the For Her series by Alexa Riley. The first book was Everything for Her, which I did not read. While having read the first book will give you a better insight on the characters and their connections, I was able to fully enjoy the read.
Ryan Justice may be her boss, but nothing will stop him from making her his. Paige Turner is trying to outrun her past, but there it is, tossed back in her face anytime she manages to get two steps ahead. Her need for Ryan got in the way of revenge, took her off course. Redirected her focus. Before she knew it, he'd made his way into her life. Into her heart. True love doesn't let secrets as big as these stay buried. And when the truth about Paige's father is finally exposed, Ryan will do anything to fix everything. Paige has always been his and his alone.
His Alone is a contemporary romance, with an over the top alpha male ready to do anything for the woman he cares about, even when she has no idea he feels that way. Yes, a little stalkerish- but somehow Riley makes that work in this series. I liked that Paige is aware that his possessiveness should bother her, but since she has the same reactions to him I would call that even. The book starts with the pair already at a low simmer, and it does not take long for the pair to catch fire. The physical obsession is similar to the paranormal romances where 'mates' find each other and then cannot keep their hands to themselves. I did like that there was some danger and reveal with Paige's history, and that love is the answer to everything. However, the stalker style is not romantic to me, although entertaining for a weekend read. My only other issue several epilogues and a bonus scene. I love getting a little extra, but every time I thought I was done and could go wash dishes or something I discovered another two pages that I could not leave unread.
His Alone is the perfect read for those looking for a hot read, and that enjoy the controlling male leads. If you liked the first book, which is described fairly well in this installment, then I expect that you will enjoy this one as well.
His alone is the second full-length book in the series by Alexa Riley and is as crazy as the first one. I thought I was used to the crazy alpha men, but I was proven wrong. Ryan or Captain as Paige calls him will stop at nothing to make Paige his and once he has her he won't let her go. Paige is almost a normal person if someone excludes her vendetta. Her circumstances are not ideal, so for me, her behavior is explained well and justified.
This time I was more prepared for the alpha maleness and craziness and while I still found it too much, I got used to it easier and faster than I has with the other book.
I loved the epilogue(s). I loved that I got to see what Paige and Ryan's future life with a lot of details. Their future looked good. I would love a bonus story (an extended epilogue of the epilogue if you would like to call it that) where Ryan is watching over his daughters at prom night. The epilogue that inspired that wish is my favorite one. I wasn't expecting anything else from captain to be honest. He wouldn't be the alpha make I knew if he just accepted the fact that his daughters are going out.
The style of the book is not for everyone. If you plan to read the book be prepared for craziness, possessiveness, an alpha make who doesn't understand the meaning of the word no (no worries the hero does not rape anyone, Ryan would never hurt Paige) and some other extreme situations that I cannot comment on because I will spoil the book.
DNF Alexa Riley is not my cup of tea.... I read their novellas and didnt really care for them. I gave a whole book try... same thing
Hot damn, I love me some Ryan and Paige!! Yes, he's over the top, but so is she and if you're looking for a substantial romance book with some super hot sex, look no further. This is the perfect breather book for me. Just something to devour and get lost in.
Oh you guys!!! Hands down, my favorite Alexa Riley book yet! Ryan is just EVERYTHING and Paige is so feisty and fun. This was such a good LOVE story - albeit with an obsessive twinge - all with the FIRE I've come to expect from the writing duo. I can not recommend it enough. If you haven't read any Alexa Riley yet, this is definitely where to start.
I adored Ryan Justice and Paige Turner together. She was a strong women who did not take crap from anyone and he was the perfect counter part to her. Her jealous freak out in the coffee shop is what all women would want to do for their man. The fact she could eat everything and not weigh 500 lbs is so unfair.
Much different the the normal Alexa Riley books. At least, I felt the characters were different. Ryan is our Alpha we all love but he is different than the others before him. I know it's a completely different book but to me it wasn't the normal AR Alpha male. (make sense?)
Anywho! Paige got playful and serious. She was fun! I always enjoy Alexa Riley books! Cant wait for more!
Where the chemistry was spot on and I did find the characters likable, I wasn't able to stay fully involved since it felt like I should have read books in the previous series to really get where their relationship was at to that point. At times I just felt a little lost.
The writing itself and story flow was greatly enjoyable and I do think I will go back and read the previous stories and maybe give this one another chance.

The ladies have done it again! I loved this story from start to finish!
If you're looking for sassy headstrong women and alpha men- you'll love this story from start to finish.
I loved so much their chemistry, sweet moments, sass, passion and everything in between!
Trust me, if you've loved their stuff in the past, you will enjoy this read and devour it from start to finish!
This minds of Alexa and Riley will never cease to amaze me. Such talented ladies and superb writing duo.
Alexa Riley has done it again. She has created another alpha male to die for! What I loved most about this story was the characters especially how the current couple featured interacted with the previous couple.
Ryan Justice (or should I say Captain America) really stood out in this one. What I loved about him was his commitment. He found something he loved and did everything to get it. Honestly, it was borderline obsessive but Alexa Riley played it all beautifully. I definitely wouldn't mind being the object of this mans attention given the chance.
I thought the pairing between Ryan and Paige was great. The only thing that I would've wanted more of was that signature element (of losing her virginity) that Alexa Riley to have been more detailed. Despite that lacking factor however, I still enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see what her next full length novel will be about.
