I really really liked and enjoyed this story. Great characters with great chemistry that kept me hooked. Can't wait to read more.
5 Stars!
Alexa Riley is an absolute hands down... fantastic storyteller and one of my top five favorite authors of all time. These ladies are absolutely brilliant... with their innocent heroines, over the top alpha males, and insta-everything in the most delicious ways.
Book one in this series was so good.... sexy, intense, twisted and thrilling... basically everything you expect from them but in a full length version. His Alone is the second standalone installment in this series... giving "Captain" and Paige's story.
Packed with heart, heat and passion, we finally get the down and dirty on these two. We watched this relationship brew and come to a simmering point... and now it's time for them to get real and for Captain to finally claim his girl.
Paige is strong yet vulnerable... and a mess of contradictions but even she can't deny what she feels for him. Ryan, also known as Captain, is totally alpha but has a tainted past. Watching these two come together and the fireworks that ensued each time.... crazy hot!
Undeniable chemistry. Fun and engaging banter. A few twists to keep you on your toes. Get ready for the PERFECT romance that will give you all the feels.
I highly recommend this book.
I've been meaning to finish my review but haven't gotten around to posting it yet. So, here's my opinion: I loved it. I loved how Miles was in it and although it was sorta anticlimatic, it was still a great love story!
I decide that I prefer reading the short stories from Alexander Riley. His Alone was a little bit slow for my taste.Ryan was super hot and one of the parts I like in this story.
I feel bad when this happens, but I could not finish the book. I tried 4 different times. The 1st person point of view really took away from the book. Well, 1st person point of view from different perspectives. The author really bounces around and many chapters in, I am still unsure of what the plot is supposed to be. The first chapter really needs to grab a reader and it did not happen for me with this story. I am a huge fan of contemporary romance and very rarely do I leave a book unfinished. The cover is amazing, but the book is just not very well written. Sorry :(
While I loved Everything For Her, I struggled with His Alone. This pains me to say because I am such an ENORMOUS fan of Alexa Riley. Maybe it was the length of the book, maybe it was the absolute over the top lengths that Ryan went to for Paige.. I cant really say. I found myself skipping and skimming and that is unheard of for me in the world of AR.
The back and forth "im not good enough" really got to me, especially as it got to be so repetitive. Had there been more communication between the characters I think this could have been resolved and not such an enormous issue. I did however, feel like both Ryan and Paige were fully developed MCs and that as far as the plot went, there were no holes or errors that I could see. And of course, I always enjoy the AR epilogues. :)
I think maybe I should just stay with what I love.. my obsession with Alexa Riley's novellas. Those are normally a can't miss for me.
4 stars
His Alone was a very enjoyable read.
I enjoyed the storyline, it was well written and the plot kept my interest all throughout the book.
Paige and Ryan were great characters and I loved watching them come together.
His Alone by Alexa Riley is the second book in the For Her series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them.

I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait for the next book. Alexa Riley has a way of telling a story and this was no different.
Alexa knows how to write an alpha male who is obsessed yet you still want him. It so crazy how she’s able to still make him attractive and captive to us. Ryan brought it to a whole new level.
Paige and Ryan work together at Osborne Corporation in security. She has a hard time letting people in due to her past. She thinks she doesn’t deserve someone like Ryan. Little does she know Ryan isn’t as perfect as she thinks.
Ryan will do whatever it takes to protect Paige even though she can take care of herself. He has had his sights set on her from the moment he saw her and won’t stop until he gets her.
The chemistry between these two was perfect with the right about of build up. They had a sweet romance once you looked past the obsession part.
I don't know what happened here but I was really really bored with this book and somewhat confused by it. This is part 2 in a series and it's supposed to be a standalone but maybe it's not because I just could not pick up the thread on the plot. I felt like maybe if I had read part 1 I would have been able to get into this one but after reading this there is zero chance I would go back and read part 1.
Paige is on some mission to get back at her Father for killing her Mother at some point in the past. She's been plotting this grand revenge for years only she has no actual plan. When she's confronted with her Father, the whole thing turns into a big nothing burger. Paige is upset at herself but she doesn't do anything about it but keep her "plotting." As for Ryan, he comes into Paige's life as a result of being hired to befriend her brother. It's not entirely clear, in the beginning, what Ryan is hiding but he constantly refers to some dark secret that keeps him from acting on his attraction to Paige.
Paige knows Ryan wants her and she wants him too. Paige also knows that Ryan won't act on his feelings but she thinks its because he is her boss. And I don't know blah blah blah. Honestly, the book wasn't that long and it took me forever to finish it because I just kept losing focus. The drama in this book felt completely ridiculous and manufactured. I resented being made to wait forever for my freaky fill up and then when it got there I was deflated because I just didn't care anymore. I thought Ryan's reasons for staying away from Paige were way over hyped as was Paige's "darkness." Alexa Riley is usually good for some quick fun dirty but this time around it just didn't work.
Prior to Everything for Her (For Her #1), I had not read a thing by Alexa Riley. After reading Everything for Her, I felt like I couldn't get enough of their work! I was so excited for His Alone (For Her #2) that when it hit my kindle, I stopped reading everything that I was reading and dove right in! Again Alexa Riley blew me away!!!
In Everything for Her we meet Paige Turner (Mallory Sullivan's best friend). We clearly know that there is a history between Paige & Ryan Justice. We just don't truly know the extent of their background until we get their story in His Alone. And WoW!!! Is it a story!!!
"She thinks Miles was obsessed. She has no idea what obsession is. What a man like me will do to get what he wants. I'm dirtier than she knows. She thinks I'm good to the core, but she doesn't know the things I've done. The things I would do for her. Only her."
~ Alexa Riley, His Alone (For Her #2)
There were moments throughout this book that I wanted to shake both Justice & Paige and tell them to pull it together!!! They play this love/ hate dance throughout the book. But His Alone goes on, you realize the why there is this delicate dance.
"I settle into him and wonder if he can keep the nightmares at bay. When I'm with him he keeps the memories from coming, and tonight, that's all I want. Peace, sleep and comfort."
~ Alexa Riley, His Alone (For Her #2)
I so wish there was a way for this series to continue. Please ladies!!! Please come up with a novella! I am excited to know that there will be an upcoming spin off series that will feature the kids of Miles & Mallory as well as Justice & Paige. That spin off series cannot come soon enough!
Thank you ladies for creating this amazing world of hot, possessive men and the women that make them complete.

I was anxious to read His Alone as their chemistry from Everything for Her leapt off the page. Ryan and Paige Turner (love her name) danced around each other while protecting Mallory and Miles.
Once Ryan meet Paige there was no turning back. He watched her from afar. He knew Easton that she was the one and wasn't going to let anyone stand in his way.
While the pair had a connection and chemistry their wasn't much of a storyline. As we learned from the first book she and Miles are related and the pair were looking to take down their father . Miles got the closure he wanted but Paige was still after revenge on her father.
I was hoping for something more from this book. It had all the elements that I love in a romance novel but it didn't click.
I fell in love with this story!! Ryan and Paige finally got their HEA!!! Don't get me wrong, it was struggle for these two to get there and the ride was bumpy, but oh my stars...it's a heated ride too and this book had everything I was looking for in this couple's story.
Ryan has wanted Paige for what seems like forever and he's finally going to make it happen no matter if she wants to deny the chemistry that simmers just under the surface for them...until it combusts!!! Ryan is all alpha hot and sexy and I just wanted to bring him home with me!!! Paige on the other hand puts up a valiant effort to avoid getting involved with Ryan, but when she gives in, Ryan pounces and makes it clear they will be together!!
This book moved at exactly the right pace for our H/h and we see some familiar faces in this story too. But never fear this can be read as a standalone. I became fully invested in Ryan and Paige and the author's bringing them together. There's no lack of sizzle and some angst involved too. I gobbled this one up.
3.5 stars - So the hero of the story, Ryan, "Captain" is a stalker. I mean, he's an undercover CIA agent who fell in love with a woman at the first sight of her picture. He's trying to take her father down, but really he just ends up stalking Paige while orchestrating things in her life in an attempt to keep her out of harms way. For what it's worth, he doesn't intend Paige any harm and she doesn't seem to mind that he's obsessive and a bit creepy, so I guess it works.
The story has a solid plot and nice character depth, and the writing is relatable. So all that really works for it. It also had 4 epilogues (spanning about 28 years total) really allowing you to see the couple as their life grows and changes. Multiple epilogues isn't something I've seen before. I really appreciated them. They definitely make the story an anti-cliffhanger.
All in all, if you don’t mind an alpha male who is firmly in the stalker category, I think you'll enjoy this book a lot.
Wow... just like the first book in this series. This book was a slow burn! I think even slower than the first book! That was super hard for me to get past. And another thing about this book. It's straight up a suspense romance book.
Oh man... I was just not feeling it!
It also took awhile for the main characters to get together. I kept reading and reading. But the built up just seemed way too long. I needed something to happen way sooner than when it did.
The teasing and waiting was certainly new for me in an Alexa Riley book! All the just kissing and rubbing I felt went on a little too long. The foreplay just seemed to keep going and going.
I loved Captain aka Ryan. Paige not so much. I know she wanted revenge. But the way she went about things was over the top.
The sex was good. Nice and dirty. But... the story took away from it at times.
Overall... this wasn't my favorite Alexa Riley book. But I still love them and will continue to read their short novellas!!!
“I promise to love you without hesitation, without exceptions and without a single doubt. You are mine until the earth stands still and there’s not a breath left in me.”
5 Stars
I was pulled right into this story. They have laughs, lust, love, secrets, and forever.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first:
Everything for Her (For Her #1)
This is Paige and Ryan's story. Paige is trying to out run her past but it keeps coming back for her. She was out for revenge but Ryan changed her course. He dug himself into her heart. Ryan knows he is not a good man but he is trying to be good to get what he wants which is Paige. But they both have secrets. Not little secrets big ones that once they come out could ruin everything. When the secrets come out and her father is exposed Ryan will need to pick up the pieces. Can Ryan prove he can fix everything for her and love her forever?
I recommend this book and anything by this author.
I know I’m in the minority here, but His Alone just didn’t work for me. It wasn’t the characters themselves, in fact I found Captain to be a fascinatingly strange mix of uber obsessive alpha male with the extremely patience of a saint and sweet on top of it all. Paige was alright, my heart hurt for her and what she went through as a child and understood her need for vengeance, but her ‘poor me’ tendencies got old fast. What killed this book for me was the slow as molasses pacing that had me putting this book aside more than any other I’ve read recently. Much of it had to do with all the inner monologuing going on, I honestly could have done without half of it, and even when things appeared to start picking up, it would be short lived. The smexy was SMEXY, but it wasn’t enough to hold my interest for all that long after. With so many bookworms out there who absolutely adore Alexa Riley I was really looking forward to diving into this book, but it just didn’t live up to the hype for me, so I’m chalking it up to being an “It’s not you, it’s me” situation and calling it a day.
QuickShot Review
Now this is the Alexa Riley full length novel I was hoping for. I was not a fan of the first book, Everything for Her, but I had high hopes for this book because of the teaser for Paige and Captain. It is not perfect, but its main selling point is the hero and heroine are well matched and dysfunctional together. They’re both stalkery, jealous obsessive and they can go toe to toe with each other and give as good as they get. I had issues with the action being told to the reader instead of shown and it starts a little slow and the plot itself isn’t exactly detailed. That’s ok because what I was looking for was good chemistry, slightly ridiculous situations and some fun banter and I got plenty of all of that. If you didn’t love the first book like I did, I’d say give this one a shot, you may enjoy it like I did.
This one was so much better than the first one in the series.
We still get the alpha male but was not an ass. We also have a strong female who is not as innocent as the females that we have seen before.
Paige has always wanted revenge and does not feel as if she will be loved or even deserves it. She truly could not be more wrong, It takes her time to realise this and to get a life she has always dreamed of.
"This isn’t supposed to be happening. I’m not supposed to be falling for him like this. None of this is part of the plan.
I wish someone would tell that to my heart."
When Captain saw her and got to know her, he wanted to help her in anyway possible. She drives him absolutely insane! Was fun to read his frustration!
"She thinks I’m perfect. She thinks I look like Captain America. That I play by the rules. But she has no idea who I truly am. Or why I’m really here."
Ryan gave Paige the validation and love she has always craved. And this leads to sex. Steamy, hot, pulsating sex! Meow!
"Don't ever deny me when I want your mouth."
The played off each other so well. The push and pull was well balanced.
There are secrets and twist and turns but these two head them on together, creating a stronger bond.
4 1/2 stars!
Alexa Riley has done it again with “His Alone” because it was a fantastic read. This story focuses on Ryan Justice, Paige Turner, her stepbrother Miles Osborne and his girlfriend Mallory. Miles and Paige both have one common goal they share and that is to destroy their father Alexander Owens. In order to move on with their future they have to let go of the past, but Paige is having a harder time doing it. Ryan is on both sides; revenge and protector but when it comes to Paige, what side will he choose? There was definitely chemistry and love between the main characters and I’m glad this wasn’t an instant love read because I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. However, I thought there would be more of Alexander throughout the read inside of him making small appearances in the beginning, middle and end but overall, I enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to my next read from this author. The ending had quite a few epilogues and I enjoyed every one of them. I would definitely recommend this book for romance readers looking for a light read with a little bit of suspense.
Alexa Riley has been one the author I read when I want a short quick read. This one is a length novel but it hooked me so I didn't really realize how long it was. We get a little of Ryan and Paige in Everything for Her and this one is Ryan (Captain) and Paige's story.
Ryan is a super sexy guy. He's all alpha. Ryan is obsessed with Paige. He's not creepy obsessed though. He's protective of Paige. Paige is a cool down to earth girl. She has a past and secrets. She's drawn to Ryan but thinks he's to prefect for her. She tries to not want him but that's impossible. If your looking for a story with that hot a super hot obsessed alpha than this one is for you.
