Seraphina, an undercover cop, is searching for the man who killed her brother and nothing is going to stop her. Bowen has inherited his position as crime boss since his father is in jail but he hates it. Tasked with secretly protecting her or going to jail, Bowen is mesmerized by Seraphina's mix of toughness, innocence, and natural sexiness. I loved the plot and the combustible chemistry. A red hot romance with heart.

“That’s the last time you make me watch you walk away. Never again. I’m keeping you, dammit.”

Look, I understand that this growly, possessive, caveman vibe that alphas like Bowen Driscol give off shouldn't get to me but… it does.

Oh Lord, it so does.

Especially when you combine that alphaness with a vulnerability, a melancholy that just makes you want to hug the shit out of the guy. It's like I never stood a chance.

Not that I particularly wanted to. This is the latest read for me in my catch-up-on-anything-and-everything Tessa Bailey binge, and what a read it was. Sexy. Suspenseful. A little dark. Bowen was like Ms. Bailey’s other heroes in all the best ways—passionate, aware and demanding—but unlike them in others, and that made him a standout.

Risking It All was a solidly enjoyable, fun book, even though it wasn't always sunshine and rainbows. It may have taken me a little time to get truly into it, and to really appreciate Sera, but it wasn't too long before I found myself in a desperate race for answers; a desperate race to the end. And Bowen and his demanding, protective self had a lot to do with that.

As the first in a new series—one that has awesome cameos from other Bailey characters—Risking It All was excellent. It opened my mind and my heart to a host of new sassy women and alpha men that I just know are going to get to me. And I cannot wait.

I don't even know where to start...From the very start I was intrigued by the blurb, I raised an eyebrow with Sera's sassiness and bravery and I fell in hard fast love with Bowen's heart. There is a kaleidoscope of images flickering through my mind and Ms. Bailey you, YOU, put them there. My word woman, I was at work trying to finish this fabulously, awesome soaked, fantasy filled book. Shame on you Ms. Bailey that I loved every FREAKING MOMENT! I can't even see right now. Bowen was the epitome of the right kind of mixture of an alpha loving, protecting his woman, without being an alpha-hole in the process. Damn I FLoved this story! So well written and the feels, oh the feels. I will be re-reading this story very often. Ms. Bailey is now a MUST-READ author on my list. I have to play catch up and devour all of the books in this series. Oh and the stairwell, the picture booth, the shower, and the alley? Really?
