Book received from NetGalley.
The main reason this book got 3 stars is:
1. It's very short, I would consider it a novella, and it's a bit pricey to me for being novella length.
2. How the main female character reacted to the main male character falling off the wagon, but I'll get to that.
This is a sweet, clean, Christian romance. If you enjoy Christian romances but like the ones where it's just there and a part of their lives, and it doesn't get "preachy" this is not that book. There is a lot of he was a horrible person when he was younger, but he's now a Christian and goes to church so I know he's changed. I liked the backstory for the couple this focuses on, the author really came up with something unique for the female lead. The male not so much but it worked well with the issued in the female's life.
Mini Rant:
I almost gave this story a much lower rating, and I would have if one of the side characters hadn't called Grace on being a reactionary nitwit. Kyle is an alcoholic and fell off the wagon due to a stressful incident. He realized he screwed up, but couldn't think of another way to cope and he felt bad after. Grace overreacted and instead of showing support, calling his sponsor, then deciding if she could deal with the possibility of this happening again she refused to talk to him. I understand not wanting to deal with someone else's addiction especially if they don't want to get better, but I felt she was just compounding the issue.
End Rant:
It was a good story, but it did have some major flaws, at least for me. Thank goodness for the level-headed older female mentor in the story, she's the one who made a big twist in the story much better for me.
Hard to put this one down. An ex-alcoholic rancher, and a singer who was widowed and her vocal chords damaged, find each other and help each other to heal and grow stronger. The writing is full of action and fast paced, and I didn't feel overwhelmed with descriptive explanations. Sometimes it is best to show instead of telling the reader overly detailed accounts. I liked the romance, and the storyline, and the author. Great romantic read and one I highly recommend.
This is a book of anguish, courage, and daring. This is descriptive and yet darling, the characters are damaged and yet with CHRIST they are restored. They are dependent and yet with CHRIST on HIM they depend on. They both have a kaleidoscope past with CHRIST it is white as snow. They are damaged with CHRIST they are healed. These two have gone through so much and yet they found each other - will they be able to get over their own pasts to see each other and trust that? This book is amazing and you really need to see how this book turns out. It touches you in places you didn't know a book could touch.
A lovely Christian romance about God's loving grace and the forgiveness of one's self. The story is heartbreaking while at the same time uplifting. The author has created believable characters, who it's easy enough to very possibly see something of ourselves in. I enjoyed the premise of the story, it flowed nicely from beginning to end and was emotionally engaging.

Grace and the Rancher is a sweet romance about love, forgiveness and trust. I like the storyline, Grace and Kyle both have pasts that have led them to this point but it is how they choose to move forward that will determine if they have a chance at happiness together.
This is a redemptive story filled with God’s grace and love. Both Grace and Kyle have baggage from their past filled with regret and pain. Kyle is determined to keep his promise to his dad and prove he has changed. Grace is trying to heal from her painful past and begin a new life. Can they help each other and find love at the same time? I was surprised with this book as it was novella length but it didn’t feel like one to me. Both characters were well developed; I felt like I really got to know them and could feel their pain. I had to know that things would improve for them and that they found peace. The only downfall for me was that there were times I was confused on what day it was and how long of a period had passed since the previous event. One quote I will take with me is: “Pray about it. God’s never shy about giving His help.” This is a great reminder for us, never hesitate about turning to God for help, He wants to help us. I enjoyed this read.
