There is so much more going on in this book then you think. Read it, give it a chance before you say it's not for me. I found this book (and the last) to be so good! As soon as the word cheater comes in play everyone bows out and says no. If you read it you'll enjoy it!!

Austin is so driven and spunky. She may seem to have it all together, but you never see the other side to people's life. I loved everything about her. Thatch has it all going for him until he meets Austin, then his world changed. Then their paths get cross again. It's so entertaining to watch these two together. I loved it to the very end. I'll admit I wanted to cry once or twice but not why you would think.

I really loved this series. I flew through both books in a weekend and then went and downloaded a ton of her other books!

Rachel Van Dyken never disappoints me. I love all of her books I read so far. I love these characters Thatch and Austin. This really isn't book about cheating. I don't like to read books about cheating but this is so different. It is book two in this series but you don't need to read the first one to understand this one. This book had me laughing and glued to the pages. Give it a chance you will be surprised.

4.5 Stars

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first:
Cheater (Curious Liaisons, #1)

This is Austin and Thatch’s story. Austin is in love and ready to settle down but she catches her boyfriend kissing another woman. Now she is out for revenge. She wants to take him down. Thatch knows he did wrong but he also knows he would do it again if it meant that he was protecting Austin. He loves her and will do anything to protect her. Even if it looks bad for him he is determined to get her to understand and take him back. They are not over no matter what she thinks. He has to get her to understand and not leave him. Austin is confused with Thatch’s behavior as he runs hot and then cold. How can she get over him without the closure that she needs? Will these two make it or will secrets end everything they thought they had?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed the book but it wasn't one of my favorites by the author.... The back and froth between the characters I found to be a tad annoying. I guess I had my own vision of what I wanted, rather than what I received.

Holy freaking hotness!!  This book had so much sexual tension - that I'm still breathing heavy!!  But not only did this book push all of my lady buttons but it also hit my funny bone.  I don't think I've ever laughed so hard while reading a romance book.  I cannot recommend Cheater's Regret enough.

Basically, it's a second chance romance.  Thatch has got some messed up ideas floating around in his head and because of them, he destroyed his relationship with Austin.  The resulting breakup and aftermath - while at times amusing, wasn't pretty.

So what does any scorned woman decide to do??  Why get revenge of course!!  Except NOTHING goes according to Austin's plans and soon their love/hate relationship has both characters struggling with their feelings.

It was all consuming and fun.  Once I got started reading - I was all in. I couldn't put the book down and I loved getting more time with Austin and Thatch after the first book.  Their romance was entertaining and hella engaging - it's a must read. This series is fabulous and I cannot wait to see what comes next!!

Definitely do not miss out on Cheater's Regret!

Revenge is a dish that is best served cold. At least that is what I hear.

For Austin, Thatch’s betrayal hit her harder than she would like to admit. Catching Thatch is the throws of a kiss with Avery’s sister Brooke was more than Austin could have imagined. The pain cut deep. Something that pushed Austin into a pity party of epic proportions. Was there anything that could take the pain away?

Then an idea was planted. In her desire to help her friend overcome the grief of betrayal, Avery helped Austin come up with an epic plan to ‘get even’. That revenge that you heard so many others talk about….well, it was the focus Austin needed to get through the pain. With Lucas and Avery on board as accomplices, nothing was off limits. This is the focus that Austin needed to make lemonade out of lemons. The only question that remained is if Thatch was ready for the firestorm that came in the form of a woman scorned.

Cheater’s Regret is a hilarious novel about unleashing the inner thoughts one has when suffering through a break up. There are ups and downs between Austin and Thatch. Both find themselves longing for the time that they once shared. Now the revenge factor…..dear lord I have laughed and laughed!! Rachel really hit it out of the park on the humor. You will be rooting for Austin….and maybe Thatch before it’s all over with. Check it out!!

So I hate to admit this but I did not read the first book in this series, which is so unlike me because I am HUGE RVD fan. But I saw more than enough "meh" reviews on it that I was not enticed enough to read it - the blurb didn't even really snag me either. But I wanted to read this book because the blurb did catch my eye and now even with the "meh" reviews of the first one, I am still going to go back and read that one.

Anway - Cheater's Regret is the perfect title for this book. And I will stop you right there for those who hate cheating in books. Get your knickers out of your ass and read this one. It's going to nothing like you expect and really - he cheats one time and it's a kiss. Yes, cheating is cheating but quick being judgmental and read this book - otherwise you are missing out on quick the hilarious book.

I must confess, in the beginning of the book, Austin slightly annoyed me with her antics and whininess. Her actions and the way she talked some times, seemed somewhat juvenile until I got more into the book and realized, that's only a small part of her. And really - she just had her heart crushed and never dealt with the feelings she was having - so it all started to make sense to me.

Thatch - can I have him?? LOL I am not into the man bun thing in anyway but the way Rachel wrote this character, yea - the man bun is totally hot on Thatch. No complaints here. I didn't agree with how he handled things but as I learned more about him and all the baggage that he was trying to keep locked away, it made sense. Still don't agree with it, but understood him more.

I have to say that Rachel did a nice job on the transition from a revenge story of getting even to a revenge story of I'm going to show what you lost. However, sparks fly on both ends when they are working together daily and both can't deny what drew them together in the first place and kept them together. But the one secret that Thatch is keeping from not just Austin, but everyone else is bound to come out and the repercussions are what keeps him from sharing it with anyone.

Rachel wrote a great romance story with the perfect amount of humor and drama added in to keep things lively. I loved the interactions between everyone - it was a well rounded book. And the ending was the perfect cherry on top!

I have to say the subject of cheating is not my favorite to say the least, but after giving Cheater a try I knew the author would put a spin on it that would make me fall in love with the story and the characters. And bid did she! There were some twists and turns that took me by surprise but they were some oh so mind blowing make you want cry happy tears in those plot twists! There were also some be shocking secrets that I didn't see come til they smacked me in the face!
Thatch isn't your usual cheater but definitely a playboy like his best friend Lucas Thorn. Of course Austin isn't your usual push over female,oh no she knows how to get revenge and do it the right way. Yes,there's a right way...ok more like a legal way of hurting someone without actually hurting them.It was quit comical and I loved every minute of it. What's that saying..."hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".Yeah boys watch out for any women you scorn with the last name Rogers. And her bestie, Avery had no problem being her accessor. I totally loved this story, fell in love with the characters and my heart broke when theirs did.I laughed with them, cried with them, and rooted for them. I honestly didn't know if their relationship would survive with all the chaos that surrounded it. I don't want to give the ending away but I'll say I couldn't have came up with anything better!
Rachel Van Dyken is one of my favorite authors and I'm excited to see what she comes up with next! There isn't a book by her I wouldn't read and I'm sure that won't change any time soon because her books just keep getting better and better!

Cheater’s Regret is the second standalone in the Curious Liaisons series by Rachel Van Dyken. The first book in the series, Cheater, was one of my favorite romantic comedies this year and I have to say I LOVE Cheater’s Regret even more! I loved these character, their struggle and their path to love. Rachel knows just how to take a fun simple rom com and hook m e fast and make my heart become instantly attached.

‘Even if it was a horrible idea. The last thing I needed was her tears. I’d rather have her anger. Anger you got over. Sadness? Lingered. I would know. I’d been sad a very long time.’

Thatch and Austin’s give and take in their break up gave us some amazing revenge comedy fodder. But, their attempts to find ways to be together is what really made me fall in love with them and this book. Thatch was damaged and funny and sexy to boot. And Austin, oh how I loved her. She didn’t take being dumped by a guy she really like laying down, no when she felt humiliated she retaliated. The whole book was genius and I seriously hope there is more to come in this series.

Love is all about fighting for what you want, for the one that means the world to you, to protect and to cherish. The protect part is the one that get muddled along the way, for Thatch his version of protect also included breaking the heart of the woman he loves more than anything.
The idea of protecting her from what could happen was his motivation, his delivery was flawed.
Austin, has, love , hate and revenge in her heart, the problem? That her love is out weighing the revenge.
This book is one that will take most of you day away in the blink of an eye, so get ready to be engulfed in the war that brews between the two of them. Funny and heart breaking they are a love that will melt your heart.

I enjoyed Austin and Thatch. I like books that explore things that aren't perfect, or relationships with people who are not perfect, and this one did this well.

Thatch cheated on Austin. She saw it, he admits it. And, as a reader you know really fast that it happened. The book is about dealing with it, and from both sides. From the side of the person who was wronged and the side of the person who did the cheating. It's tough to go into this without spoilers, but I feel safe saying it was a "minor" cheat (if there really is such a thing) and that Thatch has his reasons. And, they are good ones...or so he thinks. But what they also are, they are good enough reasons for the reader to be ok with Austin going back to him.

The scenes in his office, while a little predictable that it was going to go that way, were fun. And, sometimes predictable is the author taking the easy way out. But in this case, the scenes were predictable as they were set up well in the beginning of the story, so the decision to involve him in her project made sense.

I enjoyed the writing in this story and I liked the pacing. The author definitely created a challenge, as making someone who has a bit of a checkered past with the heroine into the hero of the story isn't the easiest of things to do, especially while remaining true to the idea that they are meant to be. It mostly worked.

I did feel that the resolution was a little fast and that there was a little bit of an imbalance in the time spent with Austin hating Thatch and the time spent with her forgiving him, but not enough to really ruin the story for me.

I recommend this title.

*Book Received in Exchange for Honest Opinion/Review*

Okay, this review is hard for me to write but I had to actually DNF this book at 24% because I honestly hated Austin that much. She was a horrid character, selfish, immature, and petty AF. No wonder Thatch dumped your sorry *ss, because you are literally making your life around getting revenge because you need closure from you f*ck buddy. She had me fuming, I was appalled by her immature behavior and her disregard for anyone but herself.

Don't even get me started on Lucas and Avery. Lucas turns on his best friend, what the ever loving hell happened to bro-code? Apparently, it no longer exists. And Avery has no lowered herself to the level of petty with Austin and don't these people have anything better to do then attempt to get revenge because you got dumped...rage. So much rage!

Rachel has done it again. She is one of those authors that just SLAYS at any book she writes. I have been itching for Austin and Thatch’s story and it was everything I wanted and more.

Revenge? Check

Fears? Check

Bargains? Of COURSE, this is a Van Dyken novel, after all.

Best of all there is a second chance at love. The kind of love that only comes around when your ready for it, and let’s be honest, these guys are.

Torrid affairs and secrets that could tear them apart, will Thatch and Austin push forward and come together, or is it just going to be a story of revenge in the end? I LOVED finding out page after page. We had the swooning, the HYSTERICS and of course the best friends that just add that extra perfection to each scene.

A book that is as much about being honest as it is about revenge. It was a story about facing your past so you can have the future you are meant to.

So wonderful! I think this is one of my favorite Rachel books and that is saying something because she truly is a gifted author.

Thatch stole my heart. So broken and wrong in his decisions but ultimately amazing.

Then there is Austin, and she is superb. Feisty and focused. Her addiction to sugar and her devil may care attitude will reel you in.

Revenge really is a dish best served cold, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...you know all these and more. How do you punish a cheater? Bring his greatest fears to the surface.

But Thatch isn't your ordinary slimeball cheater. He has many layers and being a dirty cheater isn't one of them.

A great read with tons of flirty laughs filtered in with some great angsty drama, a great read that will have you giggling.

5 Moon Pie CROWNS

I absolutely adored the second standalone in the Curious Liaisons series. It is light and fun, hilarious and romantic. I devoured every minute of Thatch and Austin’s story.

Thatch and Austin both come from troubled families, which ultimately affects their opinions on themselves as well as love. Thatch, a plastic surgeon, thinks cheating is in his DNA. He is hiding secrets and hurts Austin all to protect her from the secrets that could damage her emotionally. Austin, a grad student and glorified sugar addict, has spent her life as an object to be shown off for the political aspirations of her father, ultimately affecting her self-esteem. Both of these characters long for real love and a real family, and readers get to witness the journey these two take to get there with each other.

Rachel Van Dyken begins Cheater’s Regret with a tumultuous encounter between Thatch and Austin, which makes readers sympathetic to Austin and angry with Thatch. Through the course of the story, Thatch earns his redemption with the way he loves Austin, and of course, when the big secret is revealed. Readers will love watching these two come back together, because from the beginning it is about love from them. It is about wanting more than lust and physical gratification. These two just enjoy time together, laughing, being together, and having steamy times (of course). The ending, just the like the rest of the book, will have readers laughing with warming hearts.

I adore this series. The humor. The heart. The love. All of it is entertaining and fun. The whole concept of centering it on cheaters is unique, and I love the redemptive side of the whole series. It is a definite must read.

There’s one thing I have to say about this book, and it is that it’s hilarious. RVD has a way with the words, and manages to write the most amazingly fun books. This one was no exception, and hey, it takes a lot to make some of the behaviours in this book funny.

I honestly liked the characters, but I didn’t fall in love with either of them, and I think that’s what I missed in this book, that connection. I liked Thatch and Austin, I liked their vulnerability and their various sides, but I needed a bit more from them.

I felt like the romance was way too fast, which was something I thought in the first book already. And the whole revenge plot thing was not my favorite thing, and it made me think a little less of Lucas and Avery, the main characters from book 1. It still bothers me the way they talk about Lucas “cheating ways” and that both of them were so willing to embark on Austin’s crazy plans.

But while I thought the romance happened way too fast, there’s no denying that these character are great together and have great chemistry, and they has some funny and amazing to read moments.

Overall, this was a very entertaining book, and a super fast read. But I still couldn’t totally connect with the characters and I found the plot a little bit over the top. Either way, I love RVD’s writing, so I’m eagerly awaiting for her next book.

First of all....big fan of Rachel Van Dyken. The cover on this book-- SEXY! Cheater’s Regret was a fantastic read. Sucked me in from the first page. I immediately fell in love with Thatch and Austin. Their story was funny, passionate, sexy and FULL OF ROMANCE!!

If you like friends to lovers’s book than Cheater’s Regret is for you!

So this book was definitely not what I expected-and I mean that in a good way. I went into this looking for a solid second chance romance with some fun times. I got that and a bit more with an emotional side I wasn't quite expecting.

I felt for Austin right away. She had my sympathy from the first page, and had my laughs in the next chapter. I loved how the author portrayed Austin post breakup-because let's admit it, we've all been there. Her friend snaps her out of it and they formulate a fun revenge plot-and it definitely made me chuckle.

Thatch ticked me off from the start-I'm not going to lie. But I knew there HAD to be a reason for his actions so I was determined to give him the benefit of the doubt...and boy was I glad. Thatch has issues yes, but he has reasons and you can't help but sympathize with him once you discover them.

I loved these two together. Even when Austin is plotting revenge initially you can feel the sparks between them and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The sexy times between them were hot and fun and I definitely appreciated that!

Now I will say I didn't always love some of the other character's in the book-but that's ok. I needed to not like some of them (and I won't mention who) for shaping our hero and heroine into the people that they were. I definitely cheered at the end though-and when you read it you'll know why.

This book was so much more than I expected and it's one I definitely recommend.
