A very interesting set of volumes! This omnibus collects the first 3 volumes of Cadicle by Amy DuBoff. I am a huge fan of sci-fi so it's no surprise that i loved this series! I can't wait for more, although the other volumes aren't available on NetGalley! Thank you for a an eARC for review!

Highly recommend this series, especially as the writing had me hooked!

Cadicle omnibus by Amy Duboff.
The lost colony of Earth has no idea that the galaxy-spanning Taran empire is on the brink of an interdimensional war...
When Cris leaves Tararia to pursue his telekinetic abilities, he thinks he's started a new life. Years later, he learns that freedom was always an illusion—he and his family are at the center of an elaborate galactic conspiracy. Written in the style of classic sci-fi from the Golden Age, the Cadicle series follows three generations of the Sietinen Dynasty as they discover their roles in a secret war. Torn by duty and morality, their decisions will change the course of the Taran civilization.
This omnibus is a collection of the first three volumes in the Cadicle space opera series: Volume 1 - Architects of Destiny, Volume 2 - Veil of Reality, and Volume 3 - Bonds of Resolve
Thiscis 3 books in one so a very long read. Took me a while.
This was a very enjoyable read with likeable characters.  I loved Chris and Scott. I loved the part where Chris met Kate. 4*.

As I reader I don't read much sci-fi but this omnibus really intrigued me so I picked it up. The first book introduces us to the world and our first main characters - Chris, the son and heir apparent for one of the oligarchies (corporations), the priesthood, the bureau that trains those who want to explore their extra sensory talents. The second book Chris and Kate's son, Wil, is a young teen with the right genetic makeup to be great and everyone wants him. He is kidnapped and meets the "aliens", learning his life is predestined. The third book, Wil goes through his teen years into young adulthood coming to turns with the burden placed on him as the person to save the known worlds. Our main characters, Chris and Wil, each meet a woman of equal character. While there is some romance/love story involved, they are integral to the plot and not simply an add on.

So the story and the characters seem very juvenile at the beginning but both grow and mature as the series progresses. The pace also changes as the story progresses it starts off slow and a little clunky but as you move into the 2nd and 3rd books the pace is ramped up along with the actions. These stories are good and it is a series and author that I will definitely be keeping my eye on.

I'm really into the sci-fi/space YA books and this one fell right into that category. I like how the first novel was based around Cris and the following books were based around Wil, Cris' son. It gave a fresh perspective and better insight.

While I liked the series so far, it's not really that different from any other sci-fi/space YA series (It certainly doesn't compare to my all-time favorite, Red Rising). I liked them, but not enough to purchase the remaining books. Best of luck to Wil and the TSS.
