Well written, insightful and tense. What more could you ask from a detective story. This series has legs. -I expect to see Smith writing these novels for a long time. Maxwell is a,classically flawed protagonist and his relations with his family add texture and depth to these books and set them apart from the usual detective story. Highway recommended.
