Comparisons to Rebecca will be unavoidable. The main character (who remains unnamed) even references the book herself several times. The unnamed woman, married to a man who has divorced his first wife, draws comparisons to herself and the other woman throughout this very short story, always finding herself wanting, but unable to accept it. In the end there is no dramatic reveal, only a sad reminder that men will often act like boys
