Another pleasant and funny take in this cozy mystery series, where some ends of the ropes will finally be untagled (including the winner of Serena's heart, yo-ho-ho!).
I like this series. While I would never recommend it a to a "serious" mystery aficionado (the real sleuthing/crime uncovering is not the strongest part of this works), I muchly like the coziness factor here. Serena might be a perpetual damsel in distress and in a need of her sidekicks to save the day, but she is neither silly nor clueless, more like appreciating the hunky male help (and finally realizing the guys are not here for the goodness of their hearts, wink-wink). And as the final choice of a man is according to my taste, I am satisfied:)
The series is also truly funny! And Serena's family is both real and grounded and messy and human, as the true families are. Good work on the warmheartedness here, Ms Orchard!

This third book fit in perfectly with the first two, offering the trademark sleuthing and love triangle romance that I enjoyed so much. I've been on pins and needles waiting to see who Serena would end up with, since both love interests are equally fun and desirable, but in different ways. I appreciate how the author keeps me guessing as the mystery unfolds with several twists, turns, and surprises. The suspense and action is well balanced with Serena's working the clues and inner musings about life and love. I especially liked the parts that revealed secrets of the characters who have been in all three books, and the ways some little things and mannerisms began to make sense. Highly entertaining and a wonderful conclusion to the series! I'd love it if the author wrote more Serena Jones mysteries!

A very good ending to the Serena Jones Mystery trilogy. I'm not ready for it to be over; I wish there was a whole other trilogy of Serena novels! (At least three more, maybe more) The light-hearted humor in these books, contrasted with the solemnity of some of the crimes, with a really confident lead, sparkles with life and draws in the reader.

In this one, we finally have the end of the famous love triangle, where the author actually let her readers have some input on who Serena ends up falling for. I dislike love triangles in particular, but since both guys are worthy suitors and the outcome isn't a known thing from page one, it didn't bother me too much, though it was my least favorite part of the books. I actually like Nate better in this book, but she always should have ended up with Tanner from the very beginning, you know? Or a dark-horse candidate that was better than both would have been a fun twist...

The mystery strikes close to home (an honorary relative and a vacation to Martha's Vineyard) in this one, and I loved how it was all-hands-on-deck in trying to solve this mystery. Aunt Martha is a huge favorite of mine, and she was her normal bigger-than-life self here, including a big surprise from her near the end that had me grinning and chuckling.

Awesome story. Can’t wait to read more from this author!!!

This is the first book I've read in this series and it would have been better if I had read the first two books as they were referenced on several occasions and I think I would have been more able to relate to the characters. Reading only this book, I didn't get enough of a description of Nate and Tanner for my liking. For example, it never mentioned their ages or gave much of a description for what they looked like. Despite there being two murders in the book, I didn't find the suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat, but that could also be because I wasn't as invested in the characters.

Maya is off to an engagement party at Martha's Vineyard with her parents and aunt, only when they get there the groom to be is dead. While local police have ruled Uncle Jack's death an accident, Maya smells something fishy, especially when an acquaintance tells her Uncle Jack contacted the FBI about a possible antiquities ring in Martha's Vineyard and then someone tries to hit her and her father after they look in Uncle Jack's house. Their brush with danger brings both Maya's building super Nate and her FBI partner Tanner out to the island. More questions than answers abound as Maya tries to juggle two men vying for her attention and a case with a horrible lack of solid clues.

Another fun mystery with Serena, though this one is different since the art crime takes a back seat to the murder mystery and the interpersonal stuff going on. Not that that's bad. I'm glad the books aren't formulaic. This one definitely kept me guessing for quite a while as to who the bad guy was. I've thoroughly enjoyed these Serena Jones mysteries. This one does seem to be wrapping up the series which is bittersweet. It provides a satisfying conclusion and Serena does finally figure out which guy is the man for her (not telling), but I'll miss the art info, Serena's own ineffable approach to her adventures, and of course her Aunt Martha's crazy antics. (Dear Ms. Orchard, please write a spin-off series for Aunt Martha!) A good, clean fun mystery.

A great mystery that will keep you reading and guessing. I love seeing what Serena is up to next as she tries to take a break from the rigors of the FBI only to find herself caught up in a death tied to a smuggling ring. She finds herself more deeply involved than she plans and then to complicate things, she finds herself the romantic target of the men in her life and she has to juggle them, the case, and her initial reason for being at Martha's Vineyard the celebration of an engagement.
A real page turner.

Over Maya Dead Body is mysterious, suspenseful and so full of humor - what an incredible book that has made me so enamored with it. I cannot say abundantly clear enough how worth this book is. It is better than the other two - and no it is not a series - series - it is just the same character in the book who solves the crimes and it is wonderful . Serena, Nate and Tanner are gone from St Louis and now in another town - environment - than they are use to - yahooooo - they do a bunch of things that are amazing and yet fun/funny like Aunt Martha - lol - Ya'll you will love this book and have fun being mystified. This trio lead you around solving this mystery with so much twists and turns and bumps and bruises and fun......and so will you.

A murder hits close too Serena’s family and she finally realizes who she loves!

Serena is finally taking a vacation with her family to Martha’s Vineyard to attend her father’s friend and his daughter’s engagement party. But when they arrive, the house has a police cruiser out front and they discover that her father’s friend Jack has had an accidental fall down a set of beach stairs and is deceased. But things don’t quite seem to add up. Now his son is missing, but when Serena checked customs, she found he landed the day before and his cell signal shows he is on the island. Suddenly, Nate shows up to support Serena in the investigation, which is sort of weird. Next, Tanner shows up too, at her mom’s insistence. As the investigation continues, they discover a connection to an ancient Mayan vase. Then the fiancee’s son is killed with a connection to drug dealing and the daughter looks guilty too. Can Serena ever just have a day off?

This was the best book of the entire series. It kicked off with a bang and didn’t let up to the end. This one was probably her most emotional book as the murder was very close to home for her. The setting of Martha’s Vineyard wasn’t bad either. There were a lot of things wrapped up in this book. A little spoiler alert, but Serena finally makes a choice between Nate and Tanner. We discover Nate’s past and why he just appears to be a jack of all trades. And we finally get the real deal on crazy Aunt Martha. Maybe she’s not so crazy after all. Trust me, you will thoroughly enjoy this fun filled mystey!

Love this series!!! From the cleverly named titles to the characters, Sandra Orchard does a great job weaving the story. I highly recommend this latest from the series as well as the rest of the books in the series.

OVER MAYA DEAD BODY was just as fun and quirky as I thought it would be. Serena is an FBI agent who seems to about as clueless as they come, especially about the love stuff. I started to try to figure out who-dun-it, made my initial guesses, and then got caught up in the story and forgot to try and make my final guesses. I was admittedly more interested in who would win Serena's heart. Nate, the good ole boy who manages her apartment and has oh, so many secrets, or Tanner, her FBI co-worker who trained her for her job.

And while the romance was hot, the mystery was just as intriguing, but not terribly scary. In themes with the other books, this is an art mystery, this time with smuggled artifacts and people are turning up dead. I am pleased to say my initial guesses as to who-dun-it were spot on despite the numerous red herrings planted in the story.

The faith message is rather weak, but slightly present. There was one untied string which may or may not mean another book in the series--since it was alluded as to who the killer might be.

I enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of OVER MAYA DEAD BODY. All opinions are my own.

This is such a fun series. I love this type of mystery. I love Serena but I do hope she figures out which guy is right for her. Some people just have a hard time taking a vacation. Serena must solve a case while on vacation because it is her fathers best friend. I love all the characters in this story. I especially like Serena, Aunt Martha and Nate. I received this book from Revell and the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

FBI Special Agent Serena Jones arrives on Martha's Vineyard with her family, ready for a little bit of R&R and a whole lot of reminiscing as they celebrate the engagement of an old family friend. But crime doesn't take a vacation, and she's soon entangled in an investigation of a suspicious death tied to an antiquities smuggling ring.

When her investigation propels her into danger, Serena must stay the course and solve this case before anyone else dies. But just how is she supposed to do that when the two men in her life arrive on the scene, bringing with them plenty of romantic complications--and even a secret or two?

Another winner for Sandra Orchard. This is the continuing story of Serena Jones. Not only is she trying to solve the murder of an old family friend, but which of the two men in her life is she in love with. Can she love them both? They are both full of surprises. Not only them but her spinster aunt has some surprises in store for us.

This is the third book in the Serena Jones series. It's not exactly necessary to read the first two books but it is helpful. I really enjoyed this series and look forward to more books by Sandra Orchard.

Sandra Orchard did not disappoint with the last book.
Serena Jones will get more than she bargained for during a family vacation. When a dear family friend is found dead, she'll have to put her FBI skills in place to try to find out the truth.
Along with facing her own internal struggles, she'll find herself challenged to view life beyond her job, and possibly with one of the dashing guys who've been such faithful friends.
Get ready for suspense to keep you at the edge of your chair and surprises to knock you off your feet.

This is a good Clean/Chtistian Mystery with a mixture of romance. Serena Jones(FBI Special Agent) is on Martha's Vineyard for her Uncle's Jack engagement celebration. But Uncle Jack is found dead is it an accident or foul play? How does art smuggling play in this situation? Tanner (FBI Special Agent)comes on the scene--Jack called the FBI about info he had on an art smuggling ring. Can Serena and Tanner team up to solve these criminal mysyeries and maybe formed a romantic relationship? My grade for this book is an A plus

It’s here! The much anticipated conclusion to the Serena Jones series is fast-paced, full of twists, u-turns, and surprises, and crackling with romantic tension! I seriously thought I would be reading this one with my hands over my eyes, peeking through my fingers in some absurd attempt to thwart the nerves over how it would play out (if anyone says ‘it’s just a story’, I’ll throw the nearest object I can find at you!) but I was sucked in from the get-go, and my nerves gradually eased as the humour that has laced this whole series lightened the mood at all the right moments.

There’s quite a cast of suspects in this case, including Serena’s childhood bosom buddy Ashley, and Ashley’s brother Ben. Add in a bitter almost-step-daughter, her boyfriend, the deceased’s business partner, and a variety of law enforcement officers who may or may not be on the up-and-up, and you’ve got plenty of tails to chase. Aunt Martha, of course, throws her oar in, and when Nate and Tanner both drop everything to be by her side, Serena can no longer ignore their increasingly-less-subtle hints at their feelings for her.

For those who have been eagerly waiting to see who Serena ends up with, you will be holding your breath to the very end, but this series has still managed to avoid all the pitfalls that can so easily make stories with love triangles painful to read. There’s no angst, both Nate and Tanner are perfect gentlemen who retain their usual sense of humour throughout (with some moments of touching sincerity thrown in), and Serena is genuinely torn between two men who mean a great deal to her. Yet she never leads either one on, and really, she doesn’t get much opportunity to examine her feelings until the very end, when circumstances lead quite naturally to a moment of clarity for her.

This has become one of my favourite mystery series thanks to the intriguing plots, the gentle wit and humour, and the array of unique and down-to-earth characters. If only the series could continue!

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not influenced the content of my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.

What a great book this is! I really enjoyed this third book in the Serena Jones series. Unfortunately, I have not read the first two and plan to wait a while and go back and read them.

Serena, an agent with the FBI art crimes division in St. Louis, her parents and her aunt Martha are on the way to Martha's Vineyard for an engagement party for an "uncle" and dad's best friend, Jack Hill. Sadly upon arrival to the island, they found out Jack has taken a fatal fall down stairs going down to the beach. His death may not be an accident. So a fun vacation turns into an investigation. Serena's emotions are in a tailspin with the death of Jack and it does not help matters when her friend Nate and her co-worker Tanner both show up on the island to be there for her and help her with the investigation into Jack's death. What a dilemma to have two handsome men concerned for her!

This is so fast paced that I had to reread sections to keep the actions straight in my mind. One clue after another takes them around the island following up to see who could be responsible for Jack's death and why. In addition to Serena, Nate and Tanner, Aunt Martha, who loves sleuthing, is right there in the midst of the investigation along with the state and local police. When another body shows up and the nephew does not show up when he was supposed to, the action bounces around as so many questions need to be answered. Antiquities and drug smuggling are two options looked at as a motive.

I enjoyed trying to figure out what was going on and have to say that I really did not guess the complete truth until the end. This is a serious novel but with some light humor, faith and romance that keeps it a well balanced suspense. The characters are all very likable and I liked both of the beaus. This is such a fun read that I had trouble putting down and recommend it for anyone loving a good mystery.

Thanks to NetGalley and Revell for this copy to read and give an honest review.

Serena and her family are on vacation on Martha's Vineyard to celebrate the engagement of a family friend. When there's a suspicious death and then rumblings of an antiquities smuggling ring, Serena can't help but get involved. With the help of her two potential love interests, Nate and Tanner, and even Aunt Martha, they set out to solve this puzzling mystery.

There were quite a few unexpected twist, turns, and reveals. It had a great mystery that left me guessing until the end. The author did a fantastic job at pointing just enough plausible suspicion on characters that it left me wondering who the guilty party really was.

Over Maya Dead Body had a slightly different feel to it than the first two books in the series, probably because of the change in location, but that didn't hinder my enjoyment one bit. I loved every second of it and think it was the best one of the series. The fun family dynamics were still there and Aunt Martha was still being her lively and 'helpful' self. Many loose ends were tied up and, as promised, the love triangle was resolved. That's all I'll say about that because I don't want to spoil it.

The Serena Jones Mysteries have been such fun books and I'm sad to see it end. I'm certainly gonna miss all these fantastic characters, especially Aunt Martha. Over Maya Dead Body was a wonderful conclusion to a marvelous series. I'm looking forward to reading whatever Ms. Orchard comes up with next. I highly recommend this series!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my own honest opinion.

Ever looking for a book that will keep you guessing, and do so with a bit of humor? Over Maya Dead Body is just that kind of book...and I love that it wraps up the question of which romance Serena will choose. Serena's latest mystery is told in the perfect first person voice. There's humor, emotion, and just enough lack of self-awareness to keep her truly lovable as a heroine. She's overwhelmed trying to solve a murder that is personal and the hits keep coming. Add in two hunky friends who both want to more and a gal who's not sure she trusts herself to read either guy right, and it's a sweet romance. This book has it all. A great twisting mystery, building promise of romance, and sweet time with characters I've come to love in the series.

This mystery features FBI agent Serena and is the third in a series. It reads well on its own and has a little more emphasis on romance than the previous novels.

Serena is supposed to be vacationing on Martha's Vineyard but gets caught up in the investigation following the suspicious death of her dad's good friend, “Uncle” Jack. There is a good deal in the plot about antiquities and smuggling as Serena works in the art crime division of the FBI.

This third, and I suspect the last, book in the series has more romance than the earlier books. Nate, the super in her building, and Tanner, her FBI partner, both show up. They both work at romancing Serena. I felt there was a bit too much thinking on Serena's part, wondering about the men.

The plot of this mystery is quite complex. At one point Serena thinks, “Okay, maybe this was more convoluted than it seemed.” (Loc 3583/4352) I felt that way too. It took so much energy trying to keep the plot aspects straight as they were revealed that I did not enjoy the book as much as I might have with a more simple plot.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
