Another great chapter in Susan May Warren's series. I love how minor characters are brought in to give a tease of what is to come, as well as catch up with former main characters! I highly recommend this book.

This was the first of the Montana Rescue Series by Susan May Warren that I've read, and I simply adored it. I tend to like more of a cozy romance, but I should have known better! I didn't think I'd enjoy reading about snowboarding, but again, I should have known better! Susan May Warren had me hooked from the first page, though I must admit up front that I adore her writing. I can always count on her words to engage me, and she did it again. Gage and Ella were practically four-dimensional they were so complex, their wounds so painful I felt for them each time their past was torn open a little. The subploy of Ty and Brett was expertly woven in, can't wait to read a bit more about them in a later novel.

The premise of this book doesn't disappoint, Suzie writes such BIG books with BIG characters, and she somehow does it over and over again in fresh backdrops with unique characters. She is a master storyteller.

Can someone fall in love in just three days? Pick up A Matter of Trust and find out!

This book is set in my local area, so of course that made it a bit more fascinating. Of course, she changed names, added places that do not exist, but the main part was fun to find the real places.

I am not a skier or snowboarder, unlike many people in this area, but as a mother of a son that is a bit of a daredevil, I could relate to many of the parts of this tale. It was a fun, quick, summer read, dreaming of the snow coming back!

I enjoyed it, much like many of her other books, light, but with little moments of depth that can speak to you throughout.

This is a good Christian Fiction book with a strong mixture of romance about past mistakes, missed opportunties, betrayal, secrets and rescue, forgiveness, truth, love, redemption and second chances. Gage Watson former superstar snowboarder now part of PEAK Rescue team and Senator Ella Blair the one who ruoned his career must face each other on a rescue mission. Can Gage forgive Ella when her secret is revealed? Will Ella's brother be found alive? And what is going on with Pete & Jessica, Ty & Brette and Ian & Sierra? My grade for this book is an A plus.

As usual when picking up a book by Susan May Warren, I was unable to put this book down. Believe me when I say my daughters tried to distract me, but it only worked for a minute here and there. A Matter of Trust is the third book in the Montana Rescue Series. I was blessed to read the other two in this series, but don't feel it's necessary to enjoy this book. That being said, Warren is my favorite author, so I totally suggest you read the other two. We meet Gage in the first book, as well as the other members of the PEAK Rescue team. They are an amazing and interesting group of people who save lives. This story follows Gage as he tries to figure out what he's meant to do with his life.

Gage was meant to be on a snowboard. His numerous awards and medals prove it. But one little mistake can change your life in a heartbeat. He was on top of the world one minute, and the next everything he loved was taken from him. Trying to figure out what his purpose is now, Gage joins the PEAK Rescue Team. Time has passed, but he still holds on to the anger and blame for of the death of another snowboarder. Gage has a chance to help rescue a kid who wants nothing more than to be just like him. Following Gage's world famous trail down a dangerous mountain, everyone worries the kid will get hurt and stuck up there. Only Gage has ridden this mountain, and knows just how dangerous it is. But what will he do about it?

Being a hero is no easy thing. Ella knows that Gage can do anything he sets his mind to, and she intends to set it on saving her brother. Asking such a favor from the man whose world she helped tear apart seems crazy. You can call her crazy, but she knows that Gage is a good man. Forcing her way in the rescue mission seemed like a good idea at the time, but Ella quickly learns she is in over her head. Danger is around every corner, and her being so close to Gage is bringing up all kinds of feeling on both sides. Can they find common ground and get the job done? Or will their lack of trust cause them both to fall?

It was so much fun reading his book. Warren transported me to the cold Montana mountains and I was shivering while waiting to see what would happen next. I loved getting to know more about Gage, who can resist a hunky snowboarder? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing. I was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I absolutely love this series by Susan May Warren. Well, this and the Montana Fire series. They are both so good. They have cross over characters that really give you a sense of community and family. Each book feels like coming home.

Just like previous books in this series, this book is full of danger and adventure set in the great outdoors. I loved the forward momentum in this story and how I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and white knuckled gripping my kindle for half the book.

Gage is a snowboarding magician- the greatest back country boarder of his time. He's known for his no fear attitude and love for the thrill of danger. Then something went wrong and that hotshot life he knew was wiped away. You can't help but feel sympathy for Gage who got the raw end of a deal. While trying to be the hero, he was made out to be a villain. Now he's rebuilding his life and finding value in helping other people. I thought Gage was savvy and an all around solid character. I really liked him.

The other thing I love about these books are the side stories going on around the main story. It sets the stage for future books by giving you a prequel of sorts. I cannot wait for the next book!

Content: mild peril, kissing, mild Christian fiction elements

Ok, first off I want to disclose that Susan May Warren is hands down my favorite author. I love the way she creates characters that feel like friends, characters with real life, tough issues. And the insights from her faith that are shared through her characters often make me stop, reread, ponder and make notes.
A Matter of Trust is the third book in the Montana Rescue series. It is a fast paced heart pounding story full of risks and daring snowboarding adventures. It was great fun to read and learn about a sport of which I had no previous knowledge. Her beautiful description of the snowy mountains of Glacier National Park paint a vivid background for Gage and Ella’s story.
Gage and Ella are flawed characters (as we all are) whose regrets, hurts and others expectations have kept them apart. Now circumstances have brought them together as they not only try to rescue Ella’s brother but their relationship.
There are probably fewer times in this book than most of her others, where the character’s faith is discussed, but it is there. And at the point where Ella tells Gage her biggest secret, I had no idea how their relationship could survive. But amazingly this is where we see a picture of what God’s grace to us looks like.
This is a wonderful, exciting, can’t read fast enough book. All of the Montana Rescue books are excellent, I highly recommend them!
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.

A Matter of Trust is a non-stop thrill ride in the wintry Montana Mountains. Susan May Warren is a master of characterization and description, and the writing style and dramatic plot will draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat.

A Matter of Trust has many characters, but following their lives becomes effortless as you navigate their personalities, back stories, and relationships. You can read the books in the series in sequence, but this one can definitely stand alone. The characters are engaging, and the drama throughout is gripping and full of revelations, tense moments, and courageous rescues. While some of these rescues take place on the snowy mountainside, a few other “rescues” involve forgiveness, honesty, and, of course, trust.

I know next to nothing about skiing or snowboarding or pretty much anything to do with snow, but the author describes the scenery and action so beautifully that you can almost feel the chill of the wind and snow as the main characters, Gage and Ella, race down Heaven’s Peak to rescue Ella’s brother and his friend. As the title implies, trust is the main theme: trust in each other, trust in oneself, and trust in God.

Hang on because A matter of Trust is a wild jaunt of daring and self discovery as many of the characters let go of their secrets and open their hearts to truth, acceptance, and trust. I am definitely adding more of Susan May Warren's books to my to-read list.

A Matter of Trust is the third book in the Montana Rescue series and it surprised me. Because of the way it started, I wasn't sure what I was going to think of the read, but I really shouldn't have doubted Warren's storytelling because as I continued reading it got SO GOOD and I didn't want to put it down.

I loved the characters and there were so many dangerous scenes in this book that I didn't know what was going to happen...so the story definitely kept me on my toes.

All in all, I loved A Matter of Trust and if you've been enjoying this series I'm sure you will like it too. The ending was a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next book, which releases January 2018.

A Matter of Trust – Susan Mae Warren

I love Susan Mae Warren. I have read all her books! I am a junkie! A Matter of Trust didn’t disappoint. This book is part of the Montana Rescue series. I love how Warren continues past stories while prepping you for future stories while telling the present story. (HOWEVER, I want to know NOW what happens with Ian!!!!!)
This is the story of Gage Watson, a former professional snow boarder, who works for PEAK Rescue. His life fell apart after someone died while snowboarding with him. He still has regrets. Ella Blair’s is a senator who believes she needs to take care of her younger brother. This brother has been studying Gage’s skills for several years and wants to follow in his footsteps. Gage and Ella have somewhat of a past. When Ella manipulates Gage into rescuing her brother things escalate.
This is a story of forgiveness. This is a story of truth. I loved it! Read this book.

I did receive a copy of this book and was free to choose if I wanted to post a review or not!

A Matter of Trust is Susan May Warren’s third book in the Montana Rescue Series. While it can be read as a standalone book, this author’s books are even more fun if you have read other books in the series and can see how their lives progress over time. This rescue book tells the story of Gage, a man who used to be a professional freestyle snowboarder and now rescues skiers in the mountains as an EMT. He is reunited with Senator Ella Blair, a former love. Gage and Ella’s story is complicated but they are thrown together and have to put their differences aside as they attempt to rescue Ella’s brother. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for more books in this series. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

5 Stars!
This was such a fabulous addition to the Montana Rescue series!
I loved both Gage and Ella, they were both such fabulous characters! I especially loved that Ella was from Vermont, I always love it when I find connections to my home state in books!
I personally have zero interest in skiing, but I was surprised that the snowboarding scenes in this book completely engaged and enthralled me!
I loved everything about this book, as evidenced by the fact that I read it in a little over 24 hours!
A Matter of Trust contains all the elements that I have come to expect from one of Susan May Warren's books: clean knee weakening romance, adrenaline pumping action, characters that feel like family to me and a heart-touching, soul-stirring, life-changing faith story! This book, just like the whole series so far touched my heart in so many ways. I love the giddy feeling I always get when I crack open a new Susan May Warren book, and I cannot wait for Ian and Sierra's story (especially with that cliffhanger ending, Ms. Warren how can you leave us hanging like that! LOL!) thankfully I only have about six months and counting to wait!
I highly recommend A Matter of Trust, these books can probably be read as standalones but there is a plot thread that builds throughout so I think it would be best to read them in order! Besides this series is so awesome you won't want to miss out on a moment with the heroes of PEAK Rescue!

Ms. Warren does a wonderful job of sharing God’s love and faithfulness while writing a story that keeps readers intrigued, on the edge of their seat and cheering for the characters.

Gage joined the PEAK team after he loses his snowboarding career due to a tragic accident 3 years ago. He never expected to see the woman he once loved and who played a role in destroying his career ever again. But now she comes to him asking for his help to stop her brother from doing something dangerous and she insists she must go with him. There is a lot of hurt between the two of them because of the past, secrets kept and feelings of betrayal. Now that they are on a rescue mission together they must put their past history behind them and trust one another in order for the mission to be a success. Can they learn to trust each another and rebuild the relationship they once had? There were quite a few times I began to question if they would make it out safely.

I am not a skier/snowboarder (hate the cold) and do not know much about it, didn’t even know there was such a thing as free-riding so there were a few times I was a bit confused with some of the terms used or what exactly they were doing. However this did not take me away from the story too much, I was still able to understand the basic concepts of what was going on.

I found the side stories just as intriguing as the main story (at times maybe even more). I really liked getting to know Ty & Brette and catching up with Pete & Jess. The interactions between the various team members seemed realistic and each character felt genuine. I am sucked into this series and can’t wait for book 4 to be released. I want to know what secret Brette is keeping, what will happen with Jess & Pete and will Ian & Sierra ever get together.

Once a champion backcountry snowboarder, Gage Watson now works ski patrol chasing down people (like his former self) who sneak into off-limit areas of the mountains. When a young man goes missing on an extremely dangerous mountain as a storm is about to hit, Gage gets tasked with the rescue. It’s even more troublesome because he has to take the man’s sister who just happens to be the woman who destroyed his life several years ago. Dangerous situations call for a unique level of trust. Will Gage and Ella be able to work together to bring her brother home safely? Can they learn to trust each other even when secrets are revealed?

I am really enjoying this whole Montana Rescue series. The people who make up the PEAK Rescue Team feel like real people with real problems. They make mistakes and have to live with the consequences. They have secrets they would prefer not come to light. The characters in this particular book had to really look at how they let the mistakes of their pasts define them or affect them and their futures.

This book is a great suspense, danger, man against nature survival story. I enjoyed learning more about snowboarding and the very real dangers. I could feel Ella’s terror and exhilaration as she faced some treacherous sections. I appreciated the deep level of commitment the PEAK Rescue Team has amongst its members even when it comes at a personal cost as it does with Ty and Jess. It’s a great read. I’d highly recommend this book but start with book 1 so you understand more of the backstory.

Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Montana Rescue

Book 1: Wild Montana Skies

Book 2: Rescue Me

Book 3: A Matter of Trust

Another exciting installment in the Montana Rescue series, an action-packed story of second chances, full of faith and romance! Book three focuses on Gage and Ty, two members of the PEAK rescue team, who find themselves involved in a life and death situation in snowy Glacier National Park.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Gage and Ella's story, plus getting more background on Ty, and additional clues in the ongoing investigation from book one (and the prequel). Gage and Ella dance around each other, dealing with their past, and learning that forgiveness and honesty free them up to start over. Loved how they encouraged each other to believe in God's grace, love and desire to help them. It was a good example of learning to trust Him, as well as each other, as they struggled to survive their ordeal on the mountain. This author has a talent for describing the snowy ski scenes and the peril they were facing so well, it made me shiver reading this in the summer! Love all of the discussions of faith connected to the storyline too, drawing parallels between their physical and spiritual struggles. So many uplifting quotes!
"...maybe that was the reason God sent him up there...to remind him that whatever line he cut behind him, grace always lay before him. A pristine, white, unblemished future."
"... don't base God's love or desire to help you on your opinion of yourself. Base it on who God says he is."

Recommend reading this series in order, starting with the prequel, to fully enjoy it. Looking forward to the next book, with more of Ty's story. 4.5 stars

Wow! Wow! Wow!!! I am a super fan of Susan May Warren. She write book that are clean with no graphic sex or foul language and I have yet to read a book of hers that I didn't absolutely love. This book is no exception. She has a way of creating characters that suck you into their lives. They are real and their emotions are raw, at times. They are people you would be friends with and I could see them being a part of my life.

Gage Watson is a famous champion backcountry snowboarder. Three years earlier, he was "responsible" for the death of a more inexperienced snowboarder and he lost everything; his career, his sponsors and his career. He was sued for negligence and gave the family of the dead skier everything they asked for while he lost everything. The lawyer who went for the jugular, was Ella Blair. He had begun to have feelings for Ella but when her friend, Dylan, died and she felt Gage was responsible, she felt it was her responsibility to help Dylan's family and go after Gage.

Now, it is three years later, and she has come to prevent her brother, Ollie, from making the same kind of stupid mistake that her friend Dylan had made. Unfortunately, Ollie takes off into the backcountry to ski Gage's famous run in Glacier National Park. She convinces Gage to go after her brother and his friend to save them. She is insistent that she go along for the ride and help in the rescue. Somewhere on the mountain, they realized that even though they had hurt one another, they still had feelings for each other. Ella once again saw the incredible man that Gage was. He wasn't cocky and irresponsible, as she had begun to believe after Dylan's death but could they both get over the hurt and guilt they both felt? Would they ever be able to put that behind them and learn to trust each other again? Would they be able to save Ella's brother or would the same tragic fate meet them as had met Dylan years earlier?

This book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and I am DYING to get my hands on the next book in the series. Well done, Mrs. Warren. Keep them coming!

Now we’re talking!

This novel is awesome! I read it in one day, and I loved it from beginning to end.

I was having a good time with this series so far, but “A Matter of Trust” took it all to the next level. I’m fully committed now.

Gage is amazing. Definitely, my favorite character in the book. In the entire Montana Rescue series, actually. He’s real and always ready to help others no matter what. I can’t believe how much I enjoyed reading his story, his hopes, his past, and his dreams. I felt a special connection with him. Ella was great too, but Gage will have a place in my heart forever.

Also, this book is so well-written. Susan May Warren is an artist with words. I was totally involved with everything that happened throughout the book, even the sub-plots. It’s incredible how the author is building the tension between the other characters in order to make you want more and more of them.

It’s working, Susie!

The PEAK Rescue team is far from over! I know that this series will keep getting better and better, and I can’t wait to see how all the details in the stories finally connect.

I am reviewing a copy of A Matter Of Trust through Revell and Netgalley:

Gage Watson is a champion backcountry snowboarder. Gage now finds himself saving those danger seekers from themselves. He soon finds himself having to save a downed Snowboarder, whose hanging barely hanging on to a branch, the only thing stopping him from falling.

Ella was once a huge fan of Gage Watson, now she wants to find him before her friend Dylan McMahon ends up killing himself skiing over the terminator wall.

Can Ella convince Gage to change Dylan's mind, despite their past?

When Dylan does not listen and goes over the wall, the family wants to blame it on Gage, but Dylan had Marijuana in his system. Her brother Brett also tries to help Dylan.

Will Ella loose her brother as well as her friend? Or will Ella herself become a casualty? Or will they make it off the mountain?

Storyline - 5 stars
There is hardly an author who is so masterful as Susan May Warren, at weaving complex characters and intricate plots together through a six book series. She did it before with the Christiansen Family Series (on our Golden List) and is doing it again with this Peak Rescue Series. Book 3, A Matter of Trust, continues the stories of the Peak Rescue Team members and spotlights a few new people we haven't known well up until now. As per her usual style, Susan swept us away into the story almost from the first page!
We finally get to know Gage Watson, former snowboard freeriding Champion, whose fame and success were stripped away three years ago when one of his fans died. Now he serves as an EMT on the Peak Rescue Team. But suddenly Ella Blair - his former love and the girl who betrayed him - shows up in his life again, begging him to rescue her brother off a dangerous mountain expedition. He reluctantly agrees but must wrestle through who he is without all the fame - and see if he can untangle matters of the heart with Ella.
Also in this story, we finally learn a little more about the mysterious accident in Ty Remington's past and the secrets surrounding Jess Tagg. We don't get the full stories, so we look forward to the rest of the series when (hopefully) these will be fully explored!

Depth - 4 stars
Most of the depth in this book comes from the failures, betrayals, and terrible choices in the past. One thing we appreciate about author Susan May Warren is her ability to write realistic characters - and this book is no exception. There is drama and tension, but grace and forgiveness, messy situations and even some miracles.

Faith - 3 stars
Surprisingly, there wasn't a lot of redemptions or "come to Jesus moments" for any of the characters, but faith still played a big role in Gage and Ella's journey. As they make their way down the mountain, they are confronted with the fact that God will never leave them and is on their side. Both are slightly hesitant to pray or reach out to God in any way due to the shame from their pasts.

Love Story - 4 stars
Gage and Ella had chemistry right from the moment they met three years ago, and despite all the time that has passed, nothing has changed there. Their journey of rediscovering love and forgiving each other is real, vulnerable, and heart achingly touching at times!

Overall - 4.5 stars
Susan May Warren is fast becoming one of our favorite authors, for the simple fact that we are so swept away in each series she writes. We love the characters and the storylines that weave in and around each book. A Matter of Trust is a solid, entertaining read that flows into the middle of this series. It continues the stories of Ty, Pete, Jess and Gage and introduces us to new characters who are sure to play a part in the coming books. Our biggest disappointment is that we have to wait another six months for the next book!

Romance, contemporary, clean, Christian Faith Elements
This was a beautifully complex read, with such intense elements. A great blend of the past, the present, and with a mix of complex and well written characters. So intense! The rescue, the past history, the past romance, and the still present feelings between Gage and Ella, along with the other characters in this novel (and of course the ones from other novels that were so well-fleshed out) made for an incredible read for me. I am not a skier, but loved this novel! Happy to get my thrills from reading about this rescue and all of the challenges both physically, and emotionally for Gage and Ella.
The side characters and plots are always a plus too. While I know in reality they are a 'hook' to get you to want to buy the next book in a series, or read a past novel, SMW writes so you want to know the people in her stories. Hurting, honest, human people with flaws, but with heart, and wanting to be better for the ones they love and care about.
Can't wait to read and review more of the books in this series! SMW creates family and friends in my book world that are heartfelt, honest and real!
