The ten chapters of this book start from Mercury near the Sun to Pluto and beyond to the search for Exoplanets and life outside our Solar System. Along the way, there is a wealth of information about each stop with information about initial discoveries, speculations about atmosphere, and what various probes have discovered.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The author makes the subject accessible and infuses the book with infectious enthusiasm for the subject.

A thorough, fun tour of the solar system

I enjoyed this book. Through a series of person anecdotes, clear explanations of science and stunning photographs, Bonnie Buratti brings the solar system home. She gives very detailed descriptions of our local space without being tedious. Every now and then she discusses the philosophy of science without being pedantic, and I think the book would have been even better if she expanded on this. I recommend this book for anyone interested in astronomy.

Not exactly what I was expecting, but this is a nice primer into science and astronomy.
