Identical twin sisters stare at each other across the room of their mother's funeral. Neither believing what they see. How can this be? Can they really be sisters without knowing about each other. Why was it necessary to keep them apart?
One is good one is bad. Together they are evil. Which one of them is the good twin and which one is the bad? Which will inherit the power of their ancestors?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading f this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants a great read.

I wish the concept behind this book had been revealed a little bit earlier on because it was such a fascinating premise but I think it could have been taken further than it was.

This book could almost be considered magical realism, but it's kind of iffy as to whether it leans to the fantasy side or not. I think I would have liked it to be a little more realistic after it all.

Quinn and Piper alternate their points of views and sometimes these transitions are abrupt. Having the narrator's name in the corner of the page is a stylistic choice that helps greatly, but I still found it hard to truly distinguish between their voices, partially because Piper evolved over the book and Quinn did not. Their quick changes does make the story move quickly, but it can be challenging at points to follow.

I wish there had been more imagery of the area Quinn was from--it takes an hour's hike to get up to where she lives and the first time they make this trek, it's a huge deal, but later it becomes casual. I felt like the moors had so much potential but while some scenes with dogs were well written I didn't get a true sense of the scenery.

This does have some interesting commentary on what good and evil are but I wasn't a fan of the way that it ultimately played out and with some scenes before. I found it hard to respect certain characters for their actions. The interplay between the two sides of the spectrum was intriguing though, especially as the backstories developed.

Slated was a whole league ahead of this book, but Terry's writing style still makes for a fast-flowing fantasy novel.

Thank you Net Galley for the free ARC.

A book of twists and turns. Why did mother Isobel leave twin Quinn behind and start a new live with the other twin Piper? One twin perceives mom as horrible, the other adores her. What is really going on?
In the end, you figure out one of the twins may be the evil one that the other one needed to be protected from.

I'm sorry, but I can't read protected pdf files, only kindle files. I will read and review The Book of Lies after its release date.

It's like Parent trap mixed with spookiest Stephen King books. More horror then mystery.

It is story about twin sister that meet at mother funeral, the grew up in very different environment. The sister that didn't live with her mother, decides to stay few days, to get her sister.

Narrator switches from Piper to Quinn, not revealing everything.

It is the main charm of the book, it gets freakier chapter after chapter.

Story is also really gripping, you just have to know what happens next. The ending is a bit disturbing, though.

Highly recommend to anyone who loves spooky stories.

This book is absolutely fantastic. It was like a poison working its way into my bloodstream: addictive and disturbing in equal measures.

Teri Terry's ideas and characters have always fascinated me. Her prose is fluid and, almost, hypnotic. I can't read any of her books if I have a busy schedule because I want to devour them in a single sitting... The Book of Lies is no exception.

She has the rare knack of surprising me. Generally, especially with YA fiction, I can suss out the plot twist or climax before the end. I thought I'd done so with Piper and Quinn but I was oh-so-wrong.

It's quite oxymoronic but Terry has delivered a book that's both insidiously dark and refreshing. I wish I hadn't read it yet so I had the pleasure of reading it in the future.

Or am I lying?
