Lanie lives to work and works to live. This has caused many of the relationships and friendships in her life to crumble. While in Kansas City for a store opening, she is in place to be a member of her cousin, Britt's wedding party.
Also a member to the wedding party is Tyler, the groom's friend and co-worker. Tyler is successful and handsome, so Britt is determined to set him one with one of the wedding party. A run in with Lanie in the garage at a pre-wedding party leaves Tyler wondering who she is. Clearly they are both attracted to one another, but that is a temptation they don't want to give in to.
Both Lanie and Tyler struggle with their attraction and fear of commitment, while developing feelings for one another. This was a cute story!
4 out of 5 stars.
I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
Until You is the second book in the Bachelor Brotherhood series. This is Lanie and Tyler's book and I don't believe I have ever wanted to see two characters get together more then these two.
Tyler has sworn off women and Lanie is always working a job that she can't even talk about to anyone. The two are thrown together for wedding activities that so many of our favorites from the Wedding Pact series are a part of. Love is in the air and the two of them must do some growing up and finding what they really want in life....to be alone forever or fight for the one you love. A funny romance that will remind you that love is worth fighting for.
This book is so cute, and Tyler and Lanie have such an interesting, dramatic story. I definitely enjoyed this book.
The second book in the series, has Lanie Rodgers in town for her cousins wedding plans and the opening of a new store for a company she works for. She is not looking forward to all of the festivities that go on with a wedding and though she wants to be with her cousin her cousin is always trying to fix her up with someone. Because of her always moving she does not feel like she has time for a relationship or a life other than her current job that she is trying to save. Now meeting the wedding party of course there has to be one gorgeous guy, and that is Tyler Norris who is also not with his own problems. One his younger brother who is in high school has gone from straight A’S to doing nothing and the principle calls him because their father has basically checked out. Second his last women he was with six months ago he has a restraining order against and he has not gone out with anyone for 6 months, and for him that is the longest time. When he sees Lanie he is attracted to her even after she takes him out with her shoe, and then hits him with her head. Even when she agrees to go out with him they are interrupted by his younger brother who proceeds to ruin his pair of shoes. The good part is that he opens up to Lanie and they actually start hanging out together more and he realizes that he needs to spend more time with his brother. He is also becoming more attracted to Lanie who is scared of the feelings that she is having, and now her job is also looking at being over altogether so she must start looking for another one. The same time Tyler tries to come up with a plan to show her that he is all in with her. The end of this book is good as is the entire story. This is a very good book. I liked the characters very much.
A little sweet and a little sassy. This story has a really fun and sexy story-line. Tyler and Laney have a unique chemistry and there are lots of interesting friends around to keep things going. I dropped a star because I was a little disappointed with the ending, but overall it was a good read.
Lanie and Tyler were a great match. Both went into the relationship thinking they knew what they wanted, but both had to rethink life and what they wanted from each other. Watching them figure it out was a pleasure, and they had enough chemistry to sink a ship. Fun book!
Overall I liked this, but who takes all these pictures before a wedding? I would have had to say "no thanks" to a bride who has a TON of pictures BEFORE an actual wedding!! Holy Moly!
A quick and sweet addition to the Bachelor Brotherhood series, Until You fits right into the cute rom-com genre. After a crazy ex-girlfriend puts playboy Tyler off from the dating scene he meets workaholic Lanie who just wants a no-strings fling while she's in town. The perfect scenario for the both of them until love decides to complicate things! (/read in a movie announcer voice).
This was a classic cute comfort read, nothing too utterly surprising or out there, just easy, fluffy, fun. I enjoyed the chemistry between Lanie and Tyler. It was a bit insta-lust at first (all about scratching the itch) but when they finally were more open in their attraction to each other, it was extra sweet. There's of course a few shenanigan-y moments (it's what happens when you try to keep flings/relationships a secret from your best friends/cousin), some drama (that could have been resolved by communication), and maybe a bit surprising, an actual obstacle to their happily ever after that was legit (aka. not just people idiots!),and to top it off a grand gesture, woo!
Tyler definitely won me over. He showed that he was more than a playboy lawyer who wanted a fling. I loved his growth with his family (especially with his teenage brother) and his willingness to work for the relationship. I enjoyed Lanie's sassiness and her ability to keep Tyler on his toes. But she also frustrated me with her lack of faith in Tyler and their relationship at times (thankfully she does set up eventually). The secondary characters were a collection of friends/family from book one (Only You) and new characters, most of which I quite enjoyed. I'm definitely looking forward to Kevin and Tyler's friend Matt's HEA in the next book!
While Until You was fairly predictable, overall it was still fun and flirty, perfect for when you're in the mood for a summery rom-com kinda read.
I really enjoyed UNTIL YOU.
I thought the characters were great and I loved the story. Tyler and Lanie are hilarious together. Their animosity toward each other hid a fiery passion that neither one could deny for long. They had great chemistry and even greater camaraderie.
UNTIL YOU is a fast read full of laughs and love and I'd recommend it to any reader.

Until You is the second book in the Bachelor Brotherhood series by Denise Grover Swank as well as the second book I have read by her. I have continued on with her Bachelor Brotherhood series and she has not disappointed. I found myself thoroughly absorbed throughout! The characters were engaging, entertaining, sexy, funny, serious…all around a good read.
The story begins with a wedding shower (Brittany and Randy’s to be exact). Tyler is getting hit on by numerous women (four so far) …at a wedding shower no less…when luckily, his buddy Kevin, rescues him. Tyler quickly leaves and ducks in to the garage to get more ice. Who does Tyler run in to but Lanie, who is hiding out in the garage. He quickly thinks …. this wedding might not be so bad after all. As they continue to talk:
“Her breath fanned his face, and it took everything within him to keep his hands to himself, because, instinct told him that if he made a move, she’d give him a brush-off so epic, an 8.0 earthquake would pale in comparison. And he definitely did not want her to give him a brush-off.”
“As he took the last drag of his beer and tossed the bottle into the recycling bin, he realized that never in his thirty-three years had be been so turned on by a woman. And he didn’t even know her name.”
“Lanie Rogers left Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome in the garage and headed to the backyard in search of her cousin.”
So of course, you can see why I was totally engaged with the story and this is all within the first chapter. And from there it only gets better.
Tyler is a part of the remaining two official “bachelors” in the brotherhood (though not for long as Tyler will be the lone member) in addition to being a lawyer and groomsman for his buddy Randy. As a confirmed bachelor, when he and Lanie hit it off, they keep their relationship (such as it is) a secret from everyone. There is only one month until the wedding …. they can do this…right? Well, many humorous moments transpire while trying to keep things secret. Problem is…his professional life may definitely play havoc with his personal life. Especially since both Tyler and Lanie are unaware of the professional connection they have.
Lanie is a self assured woman whose career involves opening stores in various locations across the country. These openings must remain a secret until opening day. As luck would have it (though maybe not…as you see as the story progresses) the next grand opening is in her home town, the town where Brittany (her cousin) is getting married. Keeping this a secret is difficult and plays havoc with relationships that develop (with Tyler of course). When trouble ensues with respect to said opening …. Lanie must re-evaluate her priorities. Can this working woman have it all?
The sexy bits … sometimes naughty, but in a good way. I found that indeed the author left some things to the imagination of her readers. In one early on encounter while at Lanie’s place when she offers Tyler a glass of wine:
“She opened the refrigerator and looked inside, then quickly closed the door. ‘I’m out of wine. I have some vodka, but nothing to mix with it.’
He took several slow steps toward her. ‘I’m not feeling very thirsty.’
‘Oh?’ she asked with a grin. ‘Are you hungry?’
‘Very.’
‘I don’t have any food.’
‘It’s not food I’m hungry for.’
.
.
.
“Is your plan to drive me crazy before you even get my clothes off? She asked breathlessly. Because it is working.
The story line with Tyler’s younger brother was very heartwarming. Absolutely showed how connected Tyler wanted to be with his family and what they meant to him.
I must say, I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading. A thoroughly enjoyable read, hitting all the right spots! I cannot wait for the third book in the series “Always You (Bachelor Brotherhood #3)”.

I requested this book after reading The Substitute by the same author and enjoying it immensely.
I found this one a very frustrating read. There were too many grammatical and contextual errors, and the plot and characters were not well developed. It felt like the author was in a rush to get this one out, and it could have benefitted from a more thorough edit. I have not posted a review online, because I prefer to promote books and reading, wherever possible.
Disappointing.
Until You by Denise Grover Swank has the sassy appeal of a screwball comedy with a dash of a Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn movie. Two intelligent, attractive people meet at a wedding shower. Tyler Norris is a confirmed commitment-phobe, although he’s very popular with the opposite sex. Lanie Rogers is a workaholic with no fixed address, way too busy to settle down or settle for a permanent relationship. Aren’t those the perfect circumstances for a no-strings-attached-fling?
Avoiding all attachments, especially the bonds of marriage, are the order of the day for Tyler Norris, a founding member of the Bachelor Brotherhood. Not that all the members are footloose and fancy-free. Like his friend Kevin.
So when Kevin had moved back home two months ago after his last tour in Afghanistan, the three friends had commiserated on their extremely unlucky love life and decided to give up on marriage, imposing a ban on women and forming the Bachelor Brotherhood.
Kevin Vandemeer had lasted one fucking day.
That’s not going to be Tyler’s fate; you can put that one in the bank.
Lanie and Tyler meet cute at a couple’s wedding shower. Tyler’s trying hard to avoid overtures and come-ons from overly friendly female guests so he welcomes an order to grab some ice from the garage, not to mention the opportunity to enjoy an imported beer from his friend Randy’s refrigerator.
Taylor opened the door and grinned. Jackpot. He grabbed a Stella and popped off the top using the opener attached to the wall, then took a long drag, letting the cold beer coat his dry mouth.
“I see you found Randy’s stash,” a woman said in the darkness.
Caught off guard, he choked, spitting beer down his shirt. He spun around and found her sitting on Randy’s workbench with her own bottle.
A woman after his own heart, drinking beer and giving him the business, not to mention, “She was gorgeous, and damned if he wasn’t intrigued.” The mysterious lady doesn’t miss much either. She tells him that Randy’s fiancée Brittany is behind him hiding in the garage.
“Brittany. She’s playing matchmaker again.” His eyes widened and she gave him a knowing smile. “It wasn’t that hard to figure out. For the last hour, she’s been sending women to you like they’re going through the turnstile at a ride in Disneyland, and you keep sending them away.” She flicked her fingers to demonstrate.
The two of them banter and flirt, sharing stories of Brittany’s determination to see everyone as happily in love as she is—Tyler being her latest project. But Tyler might be off the market, since “he realized that never in his thirty-three years had he been so turned on by a woman. And he didn’t even know her name.”
The merry dance continues for a bit, like a coffee-shop encounter that involves a pretty blouse being ripped open to prevent coffee burns (hardly likely since it’s iced coffee) but at last Tyler and Lanie are introduced to each other. At a pre-wedding photoshot, Lanie’s running-late and she’s slightly buzzed from a couple glasses of wine. She accidently slips on the grass and her stiletto heel flies free and hits Tyler in the forehead. Tyler grabs his opportunity to get to know her better. With Brittany in hot pursuit across the grass (to make sure Tyler still looks OK for the photo shoot), he makes a proposition.
“If you insist on being my partner in this groomsman/bridesmaid thing until the end of the wedding, I’ll act like it’s a scratch.” For all he knew, it was. It stung but it couldn’t be that bad.
The two agree and begin an easy, relaxed, casual relationship—that is if you ignore all the sparks and sizzle. Their friendship slash something-more comes as a welcome respite for both of them since Tyler is gunning to be made partner in his law firm (not for nothing is his nickname “The Closer”) while Lanie is under similar pressure. Lanie opens fabulously successful women’s clothing stores: the trick being that the opening is always a total surprise to the community. Her latest opening, if it’s successful, will lead to bigger and greater things in her firm. But somehow they make time for each other, like when Tyler is invited up to Lanie’s apartment.
“I’m out of wine. I have some vodka, but nothing to mix it with.”
He took several slow steps toward her. “I’m not feeling very thirsty.”
“Oh?” she asked with a grin. “Are you hungry?”
“Very.”
“I don’t have any food.”
“It’s not food I’m hungry for.”
Let’s let Tyler and Lanie take it from here. They are a delightful couple and Until You is a guaranteed pleasure, frothy and sexy and funny while still tackling the serious topic of career versus romantic commitment.
I really enjoyed the previous book in this series and was looking forward to reading this one. Based on the synopsis of this book, you would expect it to be a cute, fun and flirty story and you'd be correct to an extent. Tyler, the guy determined to avoid relationships and forever; Lanie, the workaholic with a nomadic lifestyle who has no time in her life for relationships and permanence; throw in some wedding activities, some klutzy moments from both main characters and you have the perfect recipe for a very entertaining and enjoyable romance fit for summer reading.
Lanie's job for the last ten years has kept her on the road and unable to plant roots, but between her new boss whose determined to make her job even more difficult and her cousin getting married, she's rethinking her on-the-go lifestyle. For Tyler, his parents' marriage is all the example he needs to know that marriage is not for him, but with his friends getting paired off and his instant attraction to Lanie, he's got food for thought. Plus, with his younger brother following the path he did as a teen into trouble, he realizes that building a relationship with him may be a better idea than staying away.
The first half of the book lived up to my expectations and had some really great moments that left me laughing really hard, but the story slowed down by the halfway mark and it became a struggle to get through. For someone who was looking to connect with others, some of Lanie's choices did not make any sense and for the most part, her responses to conflicts and issues were odd. The half-truths, insistence on keeping her relationship with Tyler secret and the unnecessary conflict that it spawned were really not my thing.
The biggest issue for me was that the characters from the original series this one was spun off from (which I haven't read) were such an integral part of this story that it made it hard for me to enjoy this story while trying to figure out the secondary characters and keep them straight - too much brain work, if you ask me. Also, the unending wedding activities and a bride verging on bridezilla drove me to the brink, too. All of this just made it hard to connect with the characters and really enjoy the book.
On the plus side, there were some very entertaining moments which made the story okay. To be honest, I'm really not sure what to expect from the next book and if I want to read it.
I thought that once we'd moved on from Only You it wouldn't matter that I hadn't read any of the other wedding books by Swank ... and I can't figure out if I'm right or not. I can't find anything about Randy and Brittany but it plays out like these are people that should have been the couple in their own story. It's kinda strange because I feel like I should know them already but I can't find them anywhere ... unless they are maybe secondary characters? If they are, then once again the fact that I jumped into a series (kinda) did me a disservice. If they aren't, then it is a little weird. (Or maybe I need to work on my memory.)
Overall though the coupling of Tyler and Lanie is a wonderfully entertaining read. Both Tyler and Lanie have their reasons for avoiding relationships but lucky for them it looks like they've both reached a point in their lives where they are ready for a change. Their friends are pairing up and it's causing them to evaluate themselves & what they truly want out of life.
And it couldn't have happened at a better time because together these two are just down-right ah-dorable! It's a hoot as they first try to ignore their attraction and then hide it from her meddling cousin. There's a few truly hilarious slapstick moments that had me smiling and their verbal sparring is all sass & fun. While things may have played out a little too conveniently (it is a romance), they have to have a HEA (because it is a romance). Plus, once you see how Tyler wins his girl, you'll be wishing you had been there to see it :)
3.75 stars--UNTIL YOU is the second installment in Denise Grover Swank’s contemporary, adult BACHELOR BROTHERHOOD erotic, romance series focusing on three friends (Kevin, Tyler and Matt) who call themselves The Bachelor Brotherhood. This is attorney Tyler Norris, and retail specialist Lanie Rogers’ story line. UNTIL YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Lanie and Tyler) UNTIL YOU follows several paths including the secret relationship between attorney Tyler Norris, and retail specialist Lanie Rogers. Tyler and Lanie have been paired together in their mutual friends’ wedding-Brittany and Randy-but Brittany has a bad habit of interfering where she doesn’t belong. Brittany is a woman determined to match-make all of her friends, and Lanie refuses to have Brittany interfere in her private life. Enter attorney Tyler Norris, who offers himself up as a ‘secret friends with benefits’ when Lanie begins to panic about Brittany meddling ways. What ensues is the building romance and love between Lanie and Tyler, and the potential fall –out when Tyler’s latest client is in direct competition with the woman with whom he is falling in love.
Lanie Rogers is determined to keep her relationship with Tyler a secret. Brittany’s continuous need to set up all of her friends pushes Lanie out of her comfort zone, and our heroine does not want Brittany to find out about her affair with Tyler Norris. Tyler is a man who is falling for our story line heroine but Lanie refuses to acknowledge the relationship in public. The ongoing lies and secrets begin to build throwing Lanie Rogers into a spiral from whence she may never recover. Lanie’s need to keep their relationship a secret makes for many uncomfortable situations. Her actions are questionable; her continuing reluctance to reveal the truth exacerbates the already slow building story line.
The relationship between Lanie and Tyler is one of immediate attraction but Lanie does not want Brittany interfering in her life, and continues to push Tyler into a temporary arrangement. The back and forth, secrets and lies continues throughout most of the story all to keep Brittany from interfering in her friend’s relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate, intense and seductive without the use of sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to the bride and groom-Brittany and Randy- as well as Tyler’s younger brother Eric, and one of Tyler’s former girlfriends –Celesta-who is determined to make Tyler her own; Lanie’s co-worker and friend Stephanie, as well as her best friend Aiden. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the return of Matt and Kevin, and Kevin’s wife Holly Vandemeer.
The world building focuses on the upcoming wedding of Brittany and Randy; Tyler and Lanie’s attempts to keep secret their relationship, as well as Lanie and Tyler’s potential fall out when Tyler’s latest client interferes in Lanie’s plans.
UNTIL YOU is a slow building story line where I struggled with the heroine’s need to keep quiet her relationship with the leading hero-sometimes too much is too much especially when the lies begin to compound adding more conflict than necessary. The premise is sexy; the romance is provocative; the characters are colorful and energetic.

This book has one of my favorite romance tropes - 2 commitment-phobes who suddenly find themselves longing for all things permanent when they meet the right person. Lanie and Tyler are definitely commitment-phobes and workaholics in the midst of the wedding madness of two of their best friends. Throw in a little secret fling and this book is serious fun!
I really believed the romance between the two. They fit together wonderfully and there connection is so present it's almost a character on its own. While I'm not a big fan of insta-love I can definitely buy insta-lust and insta-connection and it felt very natural here.
Tyler is a great male lead. He's smart and takes his job and his responsibilities seriously but still has a sense of humor. He is a bit too hard on himself and I thought he blew off a pretty creepy incident involving an ex-girlfriend but neither of those things kept me from falling for him! Lanie is a little bit more of a challenge for me. I liked her. She's smart and crazy hardworking but no ambitious that she'll throw someone under the bus to advance herself. I really enjoyed her relationship with her assistant Stephanie. She's also incredibly patient with her friend/cousin Brit who I would have told to take a long walk off a short pier on the second photo event. Because she's so focused and out of touch with most of her old friends it did take me a little longer to connect with her than I would have liked.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable contemporary romance and Denise Grover Swank has definitely earned her place on my auto-buy list. I'm glad she's got a decent sized back list that I can go binge on while I wait for her next book!
Until You is a lovely story about finding true love at the most unexpected time and place. The pre-wedding setting was charming, and I loved the characters, even if I just wanted to knock some sense into them at times! The heroes, Tyler Norris and Lanie Rogers, are perfect strangers and temporary partners: Tyler is a groomsman and Lanie is a bridesmaid in the same wedding.
Tyler is a self-proclaimed life-long bachelor and hates weddings. And yet he couldn’t refuse to attend the multiple rehearsals and photo shoots in preparation for his friend Randy’s marriage with Lanie’s cousin Britt. Despite his professional success and his image as a tenacious attorney, Tyler is insecure and vulnerable. He feels incapable of loving, but has decided to take a break from his womanizing ways.
Lanie is conflicted, confused and finds herself standing at a major crossroad in her life. She has lived a nomadic life, because of her job, and was too busy to get involved with someone. She is a workaholic, but feels stuck in a job with no progression or fullfilment. She wants to reconsider her priorities and is ready for a change in her career and her way of life.
Tyler and Lanie’s attraction is instant, their relationship is a whirlwind. They are both non-committal and neither one of them has any expectations in what should be a short-term arrangement, a fling that they want to keep secret. But their life is turned upside-down, they can’t stay away from each other. Their intense chemistry was palpable.
The characters were well-portrayed and relatable, but I would have enjoyed more plot development. The pre-wedding setting was nice, and yet a bit too repetitive in my opinion. I felt that Lanie and Tyler’s romantic relationship could be more developed, it seemed that Lanie’s career problems took center stage at times. Tyler definitely grew on me, I loved the way he was able to rekindle his relationship with his younger brothers and mend broken family ties. Not to mention that his final grand romantic gesture definitely won me over! I enjoyed the author’s strong and fluid writing style, it was my first read by her. I’ll definitely check out her previous books. Overall, Until You is a light, sweet and sexy contemporary romance and a great summer read. 3.5 stars
This book is hilarious, sweet and steamy sexy hot all rolled into one. I loved everything about it. The chemistry between Tyler and Lanie is off the charts. Even though it's a romantic comedy I was immediately pulled into the story and didn't want to put it down, (as happens with every Denise Grover Swank book I read). I went through all the emotions with them as they figured out their relationship and fought the inevitable. My heart was shattering along with theirs when things looked hopeless for them. And I absolutely adored the ending. I liked it even better than Only You, the 1st book of the Bachelor Brotherhood series, which is saying something. So start reading today!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
I am completely enjoying Denise Grover Swank’s BACHELOR BROTHERHOOD series. UNTIL YOU is book number two, and it can be read as a standalone. I liked how some of the characters from the first book showed up in this story. This is the second novel that I have read by Ms. Swank, and I can’t wait to read more of her work.
Lanie Rogers is an extremely interesting character. She has worked for the same retail company for the past ten years, and as a result, has become very successful on a professional level. Due to her intense travel schedule, she doesn’t own or rent a home, have a serious boyfriend, or own a car. She and her assistant travel around the country opening women’s boutiques, while enjoying the cities they temporarily call home. Women flock to this unique boutique chain, and the secrecy and frenzy surrounding each opening is quite remarkable.
Lanie is in Kansas City to open a new store and be a part of her cousin’s wedding. As a bridesmaid, she is required to attend almost all of the pre-wedding festivities and photo sessions. Being paired with groomsman and attorney Tyler Norris is not a hardship, as they both find each other attractive and smart. Tyler is a known womanizer and he has no desire to settle down, that is until Lanie pops into his life. They are both into a short-term fling, which after a only a few weeks evolves into true love.
This is an engaging and nicely written novel. Lanie and Tyler have an amazing connection and Ms. Swank does an excellent job of creating sexual tension, longing, and desire. I liked how Ms. Swank developed Tyler’s relationship with his youngest brother, which contributed to Tyler’s newly discovered need to have serious and supportive relationships. Overall, this is an entertaining read that will keep you engaged from start to finish.
