Thank you for providing a copy of Royal Disaster by Parker Swift. I initially took a break from it, intending to return later, as I couldn't get into it at the time. Unfortunately, I’ve since lost interest in revisiting it. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to exploring future titles that align more with my current reading preferences.
I didn't take the greatest notes when I originally read this book but the notes that I did take were letting me know that some of the story lines were bit far fetched and honestly unnecessary. The story would have been even better without the farfetched story line.
As the series progresses we get to see more of Lydia and Dylan where their sex only agreement starts to turn into so much more.
I was so excited to get a copy of this book for review. I absolutely love the story Parker Swift put down in this one. These characters are so fun to read about. And the story itself is fast paced and will keep you drawn into the story from the very beginning. It's such a sexy read. Total swoon territory y'all.
I honestly couldn't wait to get more Dylan and Lydia, and once I started back into their world I couldn't put the book down. There's so much going on in this one. A little bit of mystery, a whole lot of romance. And even more drama haha.
I can't wait to see what what's going to happen in the next book
I loved these books. It was a really fun and gripping read filled with angst. I wasn't expecting it to capture my attention the way it did, but I became so entrenched in the lives of the characters that I immediately devoured the first two books in under 24 hours.
I always enjoy females who are able to make a male character who believes he is untouchable or so rigid in his thoughts reconsider all of his life choices. There is a perfect level of drama, angst, growth, lust, and love. And in this series, Dylan Hale gets knocked on his butt Lydia. As much as he tried to control her via rules, she broke the mold and his fabricated world.
Now that all three books in the series have been published, you won't have to face a cliffhanger. Enjoy this tale of New Adult/Contemporary Romance.
Royal Disaster is the second book in the Royal Scandal series. It picks up a few weeks after Royal Affair ends with Dylan and Lydia's relationship being exposed to the public. Lydia must learn to deal with the media and what being in a relationship with Dylan truly means. That also means she has to deal with his family and the ones that think a Duke being with a commoner is not right.
Again, this trope is very played out and it was predictable. Lydia really grew throughout this book and that was interesting to see. Unfortunately, I really don't like when authors can't remember their own story and contradict themselves between books. That happens when in Royal Affair Lydia's high school boyfriend is talked about yet in Royal Disaster it is said that she has never had a boyfriend. Things like this bother me to no end. If I as a reader can remember this, then as an author or editor, it should have been caught.
Overall, I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it either.
I have said and will say it again: If there is one type of novel that I have been obsessed with lately, it is the ROYALTY novels. I absolutely cannot get enough of the HOT and Alpha heroes and the down to earth women who bring them to their knees. I loved Parker Swift's Royal Affair and Royal Disaster and have absolutely loved Royal Treatment. It was such an outstanding novel that was full of heat, heart and had such an addicting story. And BOY WAS IT HOTT!! I could not put it down!
Dylan Hale was absolutely amazing. Throughout the series he has evolved from a Prince Playboy to a devoted man in love. He was so sexy and will blow you mind! This novel was seriously so fantastic. I can't stop thinking about it and I finished it days ago! Lydia was such a great match to Dylan. She was a great combination of sweet and sassy and strength. Her character has gone through a lot from book one and I was so excited to see how she evolved. All in all this was a fantastic series and I could not get enough. I can't wait for the next one from Ms. Swift. 4.5 Stars! ~Ratula
Royal Disaster is a romantic comedy, billionaire romance, and mystery all in one. It's a continuation of the first book, Royal Affair. I loved the element of mystery!
I really liked Lydia. Her insecurities made her very relatable. I found myself getting frustrated and impatient with Dylan in this second book. The plot was interesting and a bit suspenseful. I was a little disappointed that the relationship between Dylan and Lydia didn't feel as intimate and steamy as it did in book one.
This was my second book by Parker Swift, and it's also the second book in the Royal Scandal series. If you haven't read book one, Royal Affair, you will definitely need to read it first before reading Royal Disaster. I immediately jumped into book three because I just had to know how the series would end.
Book two in the Royal Scandal series returns to Lydia and Dylan. The previous books ends with Lydia being emailed pictures taken of her and Dylan engaging in intimate acts and hints that there is more to Dylan than she knows. This blackmail and the pressure put on Dylan by his family is the running conflict throughout book two. We also see Lydia slowly introduced into royal life, including meeting the Queen. Dylan’s younger sister is on hand to aid Lydia and proves to be an interesting side character who has secrets of her own.
Throughout the trials of this book, what I enjoyed the most was how Lydia and Dylan supported each other. While they did have ups and downs, especially with Dylan’s secrecy and determination to handle the blackmailer on his own, they eventually came together as a couple. However, there was times when their arguments seemed a little too over-exaggerated. Despite this, I did like seeing them work through their problems and support each other. Dylan learned to lean on Lydia and let her help him carry some of the burden forced upon him later in the book. It was also great to watch Lydia come into her own as a professional and see her career develop. Like the previous book, Royal Disaster was extremely hot and steamy. Even when Dylan and Lydia had a hard time communicating, they were always on the same page between the sheets!
This story follows Dylan Hale and Lydia Bell’s relationship and the shifting in their lives after the events of the first book.
Without giving anything out, things will get complicated for the lovebirds, there will be fights and make ups, people will come out of the woodwork trying to make things difficult for them and they will have to deal with a lot of pressure coming from all sides. There will be new developments and unsavory characters that will affect their relationship and, of course, the sexy scenes.
Though this one was toned down on the sex, I was still disappointed by the turn of events and felt the story was getting too much of everything and it was leaning more towards the realm of a James Bond movie than that of romantic fiction.
Further to that, the characters were lost to me and I felt Dylan was acting like a bipolar brat most of the time.

Genre: Romance - Suspense, Comedy, Royal
Stand-alone: Mostly - Picks up where Royal Affair (book 1) leaves off but offers enough back story not be lost but definitely better if you read book 1 first. Also, once again a complete story that leaves you wanting the next one.
Part of a Series: Yes Book 2 of the Royal Scandal series
POV: Mostly Lydia and some Dylan (I want more Dylan in book 3!)
Steam Level: Quite warm but not as hot as hot as book 1
5/5
Royal Disaster starts off a few weeks after Royal Affair ends. In it we see Lydia and Dylan (or DyLy as the paparazzi call them) learning become a couple in the public eye. We see them navigating work, family and social life together. I love that Royal Disaster does not depict this as easy but shows the ups and downs of a normal relationship with added stressors of Dylan's family and the press spinning stories. It was sweet and funny and emotional. At one point I felt like my heart was being ripped out and was literally crying. This book is an emotional rollercoaster that grabs hold and doesn't let go until you're thoroughly spun out. It was amazing! I also like that, although not the end of their journey, Royal Disaster is a complete story about this part of their lives. It leaves you wanting more and wondering what will happen but it finishes the storyline for this book (I'm okay with this type of cliff-hanger). I absolutely cannot wait to read book 3. Great job Parker Swift!
I received a review copy for free from the author/publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily giving an hones review.
Talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Lydia gets a crash coarse in becoming meat for the media.
I loved how Swift blends romantic comedy and erotic romance in ROYAL AFFAIR. But, now she adds romantic suspense to mix...pure enjoyment - great read!
I received this copy of Royal Disaster from Forever (Grand Central Publishing). This is my honest and voluntary review.

I have mad love for this book and for this lady, she weaves a world you can instantly get lost into and I have to say that I am so glad I read her words.
Review hidden on Goodreads due to spoilers:
This was such a disappointment. Whereas I didn't know what to make of Dylan for much of the first book, this time around Lydia was the one driving me crazy. Look, I'm all in favor of women being independent but her ways of exerting this right made no sense to me. If you have someone sending threatening emails, maybe accept the bodyguard with a smile and avoid public transportation until this is wrapped up. If you have to go to high-society functions and your boyfriend wants to buy you dresses for the events, say yes- you can draw the line at him buying your entire wardrobe. But what really sent me over the edge was the breakup scene. They had a big breakup in the first book, which is fine, but for it to happen again and the way that it did, made absolutely no sense to me, nor did their central conflict. It just doesn't bode well for their relationship, even if things did get sorted out in the end.
4.5 stars What a whirlwind! Lydia and Dylan had a few obstacles to deal with as they navigated their new and very public relationship. Lydia knew that it wasn’t going to be easy to deal with Dylan’s secretive behavior and emotional hangups. It didn’t get any prettier when you add in a stalker, an aristocratic class divide, parental pressure, and the paparazzi's speculative news stories for the world to see.
I enjoyed Royal Affair (Book #1), but royally loved the second installment, Royal Disaster (Book #2). I adored Lydia’s strength and passion, and I finally warmed up to Dylan. After he finally let Lydia into his heart, I fell for him as well. I even managed to shed a few tears in the last 20% of this book. I just wanted them to work out. I can't wait to see how it all turns out in Royal Treatment (Book #3).

I love reading about Dylan and Lydia. Their story is somehow fantasy and relatable. This book made me laugh and cry and left me wanting more.
Royal Distaster is the second book or second part to Dylan and Lydia's story. It picks up about 2 weeks after the first book ends. This is definitely not a stand alone. A reader needs to read the first book to truly appreciate the characters and their relationship as well as understand the whole story. The book as a whole was of course amazing. I hated putting it down. These two had consumed me for so long and finally I am going to understand what is going on. I was really annoyed with Lydia in this book. She has some jealousies over long ago lovers and a few other things that just irked me. But she was still a great character. Dylan is the one I really liked. He is strong and yet so fragile when it comes to relationships.
The writing is great, with some excellent visual descriptions and details to help me as a reader situate myself in the story. I liked the tension and though it wasn't a huge amount I loved the suspense. I look forward to more!
I am loving this series so far. It is sexy, emotional, and even fun in parts. This book picks up a few weeks after the first. I am not going into the plot or story, because I don't want to give anything away. I will just say that the chemistry is still there.
There is plenty of drama and you definitely get to fall even harder for Dylan, even after the frustrations he sometimes causes. There are still so many questions unanswered. I can't wait to read more and find out where this author is taking us.
