I really enjoyed this book. I love Emerson's spunky and how she didn't fawn all over the big ball player, although she tends to blame everyone around her for the problems on her first day of work rather admitting she herself has a role in her late start. Hunter brings humor into the scene as he requests her help in finding him a home, the reasons behind the need are heavy and Emerson lessens in her rigidity towards Hunter to make this a very enjoyable read.
3.5 "You make it easy for me to breathe" Stars
If insta is your thing, then this is possibly is for you—it's quite a speedy one.
"As the best—and best-looking—quarterback in the NFL, his prowess with the ladies is pretty much legendary."
Down and Dirty was a story with huge potential and, with a real emotional aspect and plenty of sexy time—both elements I pretty much expect from Tracy Wolff—it was by no means a difficult read. However, at the same time it felt underdeveloped and needed tightening up: aspects, and characters, were included that you thought were adding to the story but in actual fact led nowhere and were redundant.
"How do I woo a woman who doesn’t take any of my sh!t?"
That said, I did like Emerson and Hunter and their personalities worked well for me—together they created some serious heat and equally lovely moments that brought feeling—but overall I can't help but feel that Tracy Wolff missed the mark on giving them and their story the justice they deserved with certain aspects playing out too quickly and others simply being forgotten along the way. And that was a real shame because this had all the components to be a great story.
Great storyline and characters that kept me engaged through the whole book! This is the first book that I have read from Tracy Wolff and it definitely will not be the last!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I LOVE both Tracy Wolff, and sports romances, so what could be better? Honestly, not a lot. This book is so very good. Hunter is swoony, and Emerson is a near perfect heroine. I loved these two, and their story SO much, even when my heart was breaking (and then being put back together).
: 3.75 stars--DOWN AND DIRTY by Tracy Wolff is a stand alone, contemporary adult, erotic romance story line focusing on star quarterback Hunter Browning and realtor Emerson Day.
Told from dual first person points of view (Emerson and Hunter) DOWN AND DIRTY follows the building relationship between Lightning quarterback Hunter Browning and realtor Emerson Day. Hunter needs a house and finds himself oddly attracted to new agent Emerson Day-a woman with attitude to spare since her run in with our story line hero only minutes before. When Hunter chooses Emerson as his real estate agent, our heroine is determined to find the man exactly what he needs. What ensues are the quick building romance between Hunter and Emerson, and the fall out when Hunter’s life implodes behind the scenes.
The relationship between Hunter and Emerson is quick to develop-from enemies to friends to lovers within a matter of hours, Hunter’s attraction to Emerson finds our story line hero considering the future with a woman he has known for a couple of days. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The sexual attraction is palpable; the chemistry is energetic and hot.
We are introduced to Hunter’s teammates: Tanner Green, Shawn Wilson, and Cameron Smith, as well as Hunter’s sister Heather, niece Lucy and nephew Brent; Emerson’s boss Kerry, and fellow agent Alice. I am hoping for more story lines focusing on the San Diego Lightning.
The world building looks at family and friendships, love and loss, grief and acceptance. The character development is limited, as the story line remains focused on the present without revealing any history or background for our leading couple.
DOWN AND DIRTY is a quick read; a fast paced, spirited story line of romance, loss and a happily ever after. The premise is realistic and tangible; the characters are passionate and colorful; the romance is spicy and provocative. DOWN AND DIRTY is a playful, energetic and emotional story line.

Emerson Day is having a really bad day and it is only the first day of a new job. When she finally gets to work only 23 minutes late, a large truck pulls up and splashes her with the puddle of water that she avoided when she got out of the Uber. Now she is late for work and looks like a drowned rat. But the driver of the truck thinks he can flirt with her to make her forget all about it. Well, he is wrong, just because he is the Hunter Browning doesn't give him the right to be that dumb.
Hunter Browning is not having a good day, he just wants to find the right house and all the real estate agent wants to sell him is an over the top outrageous monstrosity that he doesn't want. When he pulls up to the office, he splashes the girl standing way too close to the curb. When he tries to apologize, she is pissed at him and yells at him. When he stops and really looks at her, she is beautiful and all he can think about is getting closer to her. The chemistry is there between them. He can feel it, can she?
When Hunter realizes that Emerson works at the real estate agency, he requests for her to show him the homes. While Emerson's new boss isn't happy about it, she gives in because she wants to sell Hunter a home because it will be a big commission for her company if they do. So over the next few days, Emerson will learn what Hunter is looking for and finds him the perfect home. All while Hunter is dealing with the pain of losing is sister day by day. As Hunter and Emerson get closer, he doesn't tell about Heather and her condition, which I thought he should have. But he is a male that has to be in control of every aspect of his life and if he tells Emerson about Heather, then it becomes real and he just might shatter and then he would not be able to control his life anymore.
Will Hunter tell Emerson about Heather or just push her away? Can Emerson hold on while he is hurting? Can she help him even if he thinks he doesn't need her help?
I love Tracy Wolff and her way of telling stories, this one will have you laughing and crying. So be ready, because it will happen. I can't wait to see what happens in book two.

Hunter is kind of a jerk throughout this story. I had a difficult time liking him, and even though his family situation is less than ideal, I still didn't like him that much. He has a cocky attitude and even knowing his situation, he puts on this strange persona all through the story.
Then you have Emerson. She's funny, snarky and I instantly liked her. I think she's the reason that I rated this book so high. I wish that we would have seen more about what happened at her job, as that was a hilarious situation in itself.
The relationship between Emerson and Hunter is fast. Not exactly an insta-love situation, but fast enough that you kind of have to catch up. I liked how they bantered back and forth and how they were able to find their own path, despite the pressures each was facing.
When tragedy strikes, both have to figure out whether or not they are in this for love or if they are ready to give up. It was sweet, funny, and just the right amount of romance thrown in.

4.5 stars of hot, sexy, and emotional romance!
This starts out like a cheeky, humorous romance – but there is a twist which definitely tugged at my heartstrings. I ended up needing tissues, so be warned and maybe read it where that won't matter.
Hunter is a dichotomy – a genius quarterback with tons of money and no worries when it comes to being popular with the ladies; but he is hiding a tragic secret in his very private life. An appointment with a real estate agent causes him to meet Emerson, who ticks his every box, but who he causes nothing but trouble. He quickly recognises her importance to him, as she sees through his shields. Fitting everything into his life, however, is not going to be easy.
Emerson has finally accepted that she needs to work until she makes enough money as an artist, and a receptionist's role at a real estate agents will help her meet her bills, and maybe even eat. So, when she first meets Hunter, her priority is her job – much to his surprise. It was such fun watching how things play out that first day.
A sports-based story with a couple of appealing characters and a moving plot; this is a very good read indeed. Thank you, Ms. Wolff.
I thoroughly enjoyed the newest book by Tracy Wolff. The romance between Hunter and Emerson practically began on the first page and continued throughout the book. There was a lot of laughter and cute scenes, but also tragedy that threatened to destroy Hunter. He also tried to destroy his relationship with Emerson because of it. Even though there was plenty of humor and hot steamy sex, there were poignant moments where I cried along with the characters.
5 Stars for Tracy Wolff for wrapping all of these emotions into a wonderful love story worth the time to read.
I was gifted a copy of this book by Random House Publishing through Net Galley.
4.5 - "I knew you'd come around..." Stars!
Tracy Wolff starts a new series, with a sexy-hot tale of a couple from opposite ends of the spectrum coming together under unusual circumstances.

I am going to be honest straight off and say that although I really enjoyed Down & Dirty, this book had the potential to be so much more, the author gave me a quick read with plenty of sexy times and good banter between the leads, but the back stories for both had so much potential for expansion that I felt a little bit let down for them that everything was so ‘insta’. There was enough meat on the bones of this book, for it to have had a lot more depth than it was given.
"Did you just take the money."
Hunter and Emerson worked well together, the rich, famous, sports-man and the poor, out-spoken, artist struggling to make ends meet by working in real estate. Their initial meeting had me laughing at my kindle, and the resulting adventures in house-hunting proved to be of the smut-alicious variety.
She’s got a mouth on her and fuck if I don’t like it…
Hunter’s back story proved that he wasn’t just an over-sexed, over-payed jock, while Emerson’s highlighted that she wasn’t just looking for a rich man to pay her way life.
"I don’t drink with me who get me wet."
This was an enjoyable albeit low substance read, the author set up things well enough that I can see more than a few books being added, with the rest of the San Diego Lightening players that were introduced in the telling of this story.

4 1/2 Stars! What a great 1st book in a new series! Emerson is a little down on luck ... 1st because her car breaks down and she's gonna be late for her 1st day at a new job and 2nd because while standing on the side of the road she gets splashed when a big truck races through a puddle. Then the arrogant a$$hat driving the truck happens to be the superstar quarterback for the Lightning Football Team.
Hunter feels bad about soaking the pretty redhead, but damn, she's really hot when she's mad and he would like to spend more time with her. So he tells the owner of the real estate agency that he wants Emerson to show him houses. Even though Emerson is really pissed at him ... they both can feel the electricity between them.
This book checks all the boxes for me ... it has you laughing out loud 1 minute and then crying the next, with lots of steamy scenes in between. I highly recommend it!

LOVED this one from the start right through to the end! Emerson is a feisty and outspoken and oh-so stubborn woman and she has met her match when on her first day at her new job when everything is going wrong and she is already late for work she is drenched by a driver who sprays her by a mud puddle. It turns out the driver is none other than the star quarterback who is looking to buy a home. Sparks ignite between Hunter and Emerson immediately and Hunter was hooked from the beginning and he stops at nothing to get Emerson. This story hits all the buttons that make for a great read, lots of heat, lots of snark, lots of good dialogue, and lots of feels.
I highly recommend this one!

This was my first book by this author and I am sure glad I read it. It was a very nice story that will have you laughing at Emerson when she is talking back to Hunter. But there will be times that you will have tears from the heartbreaking part of the story. Definitely written very well with likeable characters.
I will need to check out more books written by Tracy Wolff. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Net Galley
I was a little iffy about this book as I hadn't read any books by this author before. I am so glad I took the chance on it! Hunter is a hot and dirty professional football player. Emerson is a just graduated from college real estate agent (should be an artist!). After a rocky start (and quite funny by the way!), they end up dating. Little does Emerson know though, Hunter has something major going on in his family that is tearing his world apart. I loved this book! I loved the chemistry between the characters, just the way they reacted to each other. Emerson holds nothing back and it is an awesome thing! I especially love how no matter how bad it gets, or what is said, she is understanding enough to realize that he doesn't mean it. Be prepared to cry though when the horrible happens. That's the only warning I will give so I don't ruin anything for anyone. As a new to me author, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have added the other books by this author to my TBR pile!
Wow, what a great read!
Emerson and Hunter meet in a quirky, fun and in Hunter’s opinion, sexy way. Emerson isn’t very happy to find herself at his disposal due to his machinations with her boss. Now she’s stuck with him but is hoping to turn it around to benefit her bank account.
I really enjoyed this couple and watching their relationship develop. It’s pretty fast moving but they’ve spent a lot of time together so it works. Emerson is a strong heroine who is struggling down the path she has chosen. Hunter comes with a situation that isn’t going to get better and has the promise of breaking his heart. Together they are complete but life and sometimes painful decisions get in the way.
Filled with lots of humor, OMG sex that will melt your Kindle and characters that I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of this is definitely one you’ll want to check out.

OH MAN!! I freaking LOVED this book! Get ready for all the FEELS! It immediately sucked me in and I was lost in Emerson and Hunter's world. I liked the unique way Emerson and Hunter met. It was terrible, awkward and completely captivating. Emerson was having a bad day and Hunter seemed to make it worse. But their banter was fun. She gave as good as she got and Hunter was drawn to her. He wasn't ready for her to walk away and managed to find a way to keep her around a bit longer. But soon, he realized she got him and he didn't have to pretend with her. Their chemistry was explosive and all-consuming.
Hunter was hiding his family issues from everyone and Emerson seemed to be what he needed. He didn't have to deal with the drama for a bit. He could let his guard down a bit. They had tons of sexual chemistry and time would tell if things could last for them. Their first "date" was not typical and certainly lasted longer than most, but they had the time to get to know each other. And Hunter found himself wanting to know more about her.
Emerson knew they came from different worlds, but she also didn't want handouts. He was so sweet and caring with her and when he would explain things to her, she understood what he did wasn't inconsiderate or something he did for other women. They balanced each other out and she was there for him like no one else had been. I was cheering them on and hoped life wouldn't keep them apart. This is one of those books that stays with you, long after the pages have ended. Talk about a book hangover! Get ready for your new book boyfriend, Hunter! Do NOT miss this fantastic read!
Down & Dirty is an entertaining and sexy sports romance with a lot of heart, and it will assuredly be one of my most memorable reads of 2017. Ms. Wolff brought me to tears while also making me smile and laugh, and storytelling doesn’t get better than this. Emerson and Hunter meet under less-than-ideal circumstances when his truck hits a puddle and drenches her as she walks (late) into her new job. She might recognize the famous, handsome quarterback, but she isn’t impressed by him or hesitant to give him a piece of her mind. She’s sassy, confident and quick-witted, and Hunter is baffled and intrigued. He’s used to women throwing themselves at him and loves that Emerson will go toe-to-toe with him. Frankly, it turns him on.
Hunter gives chase, and he is charmingly arrogant and impossible to resist. The sexual chemistry between the pair is explosive, and their interludes are scorching hot. What begins as a hook-up escalates into a relationship until the brutality of life intrudes on their evolving romance, and Hunter decides he needs to step back from Emerson and put his family ahead of his feelings for her. He grapples with the idea that it’s okay to feel happy while someone he loves is struggling is heartbreakingly relatable. Both Emerson and Hunter won my heart, and I’d be lucky to call them my friends. Down & Dirty is a compelling romance with sexy and lighthearted moments and a thoughtful and emotional story; it has all the feels. - Mary Dubé, USA Today's Happy Ever After
This was definitely a winner for me. Probably a little over 4 stars really. It had a good story, great characters, and plenty of laughs and steam. This was a quick and fun read, although maybe it was only quick because I gobbled it up! Emerson was great. She was smart and sassy, and while she wouldn't put up with any crap, she was also patient and understanding. Hunter was swoon worthy. And it wasn't just with her, but seeing the relationship he had with his teammates, his sister, and her kids, really showed who he was. And that may be the reason I enjoyed this book so much. Because I wasn't told who these characters were, I was shown. This was a great book, perfect for a day by the pool.
Emerson is having the worst day. Running late for her first day at her new job, and right when she thinks she's made it there mostly unscathed, one Hunter Browning, cocky football player and total jerk soaks her with his gigantic truck.
Hunter is on a mission to find a house... fast. He may have soaked Emerson on accident, but he can't find himself really being sorry for it. In fact, seeing her drenched and angry makes him want to get to know her... sass and all.
I loved this book! I am a sucker for banter, and this book had some of the best. Emerson is strong, artistic, and guarded about men. Hunter doesn't have time for a relationship, but he can't risk letting his attraction to Emerson go.
With a fast paced storyline and well written characters, this book kept me enthralled throughout. Just when I thought I couldn't enjoy it any more, we see the deeper stuff that Hunter is going through and the book takes you into some tear jerking moments. Sexy, sweet, funny and heartfelt, this book is a must read.

Tracy Wolff has done it again. Awesome Read.
Hunter Browning is the sexy NFL quarterback who is looking for a house. What he didn't expect was to run in to the sexy smart mouthed Emerson. Hunter has always had women throwing themselves at him but for some reason Emerson is different.
Emerson a real estate agent us trying her best to help Hunter find a home. During this journey she's trying her best to keep things professional. Unfortunately it's a tough task to do when your working with with the sexy quarterback.
Hmm now how will this journey end?

I LOVE Tracy Wolff. Her writing style is seamless, her characters are well developed and her storylines are inviting. This book was no exception!
