I have read a few books by Tracy Wolff and am usually excited when I see that a new one out. It was no different with this quick read about an NFL player and a new to the business real estate agent.
Hunter and Emerson are great together.
I liked that there was more to Hunter than self-importance and womanizing. Emerson was tough and just trying to do her best with what life had thrown her. I liked that she wanted to do her job well. Their relationship starts on a rather unfortunate morning with a puddle and grows rather quickly from there. I wish this book were longer and that we got to see more of some of the characters but overall I liked it. I found it entertaining and worth it if you like other books by Wolff.

There are many different things that this book tries to be:

A sports romance a Super Bowl winning quarterback and Sexiest Man Alive and a poor real estate/artist.
A Cinderella story including an actual ball/charity dance
A heart-wrenching story of loss that will really bring tears to the reader’s eyes.
An erotic novel that includes the longest episode of oral sex that I’ve ever read in a regular romance novel
A story with cute kids who will win everyone’s hearts
A feisty heroine who is trying to make it on her own instead of depending on her mom, stepdad, or any rich football player who comes her way facing the unfair treatment of her boss, a stand-in for Cinderella’s evil step-mother
An insta-love romance in which the hunky hero takes one look at the heroine and is immediately captivated
A heroine with a secret phobia of water that miraculously disappears when she needs it to

If any of that appeals to you, you’ll like this book. If you’d like the book to go more in depth on any one of these plotlines or have a bit fewer of so many different aspects, then you might the book a bit frustrating, but still enjoyable.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book does not disappoints! Truly Tracy's style! I love that the story does not revolve around the female....awesome page turner.

A really good but way to short treat from Tracy Wolff. The exotic sculpture garden was hilarious! A quick but unforgettable read.

I immediately got invested in Emerson. She's a strong woman who knows when to go with the flow, and when to stand strong. It was nice to see a softer side of Hunter, as well as the strong hero he needed to be. The chemistry between them was steamy, steamy, steamy! There were nice nuances in the plot that bonded them even though Hunter was completely oblivious to it. I've already recommend this book to a few of my friends who love this genre.

Really liked this book had good plot with great characters who are funny and made for each other. Was a very easy read, got into the story from the go and liked it till the last page. Hunter is a very alpha male who loves his football and can't wait to get the girl who he got wet on the way to work. Emerson is trying to make a good impression on her first day but that goes all wrong when she gets soaking wet by a certain quarterback which makes there story fun, sexy and likeable for me. Would recommend both this book and this author to friends and family

This book is about a famous rich quarterback that has fears to face, and a poor artist and real estate lady that has issues and fears also. But when the two meet they find out that love makes you face your worst kind of fear

The book started out sweet and funny, making it easy to get into. It got really sexy, but you are already vested by that time. It had an extremely sad spot, but all the while you still have a sweet romance. It still ends in a HEA.

Touchdown! Hunter and Emerson are a perfect score. Emerson doesn't take any of his crap and gives it right back to him. She is the resilient, independent woman we want to see in our characters. Hunter is frantically looking for a house that is a home due to his circumstances beyond his control. Through a terrible time in his life Emerson brings him a safe place.
The book has some super hot scenes, emotional scenes and chuckles along the way. Pick it up and fall in love with the new series.

This book features one of the best heroines I've read in a long time. While much of the plot features the expected and slightly cheesy devices, when you are reading it you don't really care because Emerson makes even the cheesiest scene delightful. We have the Cinderella effect with Emerson being poor as a church mouse, the NFL star hero, (couldn't be just a good NFL player, had to be the Heisman winning, impossibly handsome, nice guy quarterback), the meet-cute, the hero's tragic problem she helps him overcome with her pluckish determination, and their shared love for art. And lots of lust. Nothing unusual at all to see here, except the character of Emerson is so well done I think I'd enjoy reading about her doing laundry., because I'm sure there would be something snarky, fun and honest about it.
I truly enjoyed this well written book. But I wish the author would take a character like this and put her in a fresh or unusual plot. It could go from just an enjoyable read like this book, to something truly remarkable.

I enjoyed this book overall. It was easy to read and moved along swiftly. Emerson was a strong character, which I liked. Hunter was also well developed with real life problems. However, I just didn't like the insta-love that the characters had. It just didn't make a lot of sense that they fell in love basically over the course of a week or 2. Not only that, but Hunter's niece was instantly affectionate towards Emerson. That just did not make a lot of sense to me. I would have liked a bit more time to pass for it to seem more realistic. That being said, the overall story and writing were great and it was an enjoyable read.

This story was just WOW! This is my first time reading this author and I am very impressed. This had a wonderful storyline and HOT sex scenes and they were plentiful.

This is mostly a story about Hunter, he is a star football QB in San Diego, CA. He has some big problems and one is that he needs a family house. His twin sister is dying and he will be taking care of her two kids. So thats how he meets and hires, Emerson.

Emerson, is poor artist and she is making her career real estate on her first day at her new job she is having a very bad day when she meets Hunter, who hires her to find him a home. The two meet and get to know each other in a very short time, and fall hard.

But Hunter is a mess. His twin is dying and the pain of that might be too much for Emerson. Meanwhile they have a lot of hot sexy times together. While this seemed like light reading - it wasn't. You really feel Hunter's pain and agony at losing his twin. While at the same time this story was fun and a highly enjoyable erotic story.

Tracy Wolff can write a great book, but I have to say this might be one of my favorites. For no other reason than it's not her usual fare, and it was great.
Emerson's first say on her new job goes right to hell and helping her on that path is Hunter, star quarterback for the San Diego Lightning team. Emerson is all feisty, snarky and just plain old ticked off at Hunter since he and his oversized truck side washed her while she was already soaked to the bone. First day on the job... way to start it. Turns out Hunter is there on business. He's house shopping and tells the boss lady he wants Emerson to help him find a house. Boss lady isn't happy at all and neither is Emerson. Emerson is pretty much doing this to support her art work. The banter between these two is comical, it's light fare and plenty of steamy innuendo and that first kiss. Buckle up.
Hunter has a lot on his plate, he's looking for a "home", not just a house. His twin sister is in the final stages of her life and Hunter will take over the care of her two children. The kids were great too.
Hunter has a couple of teammates that were great support also. I loved Tanner. Hope he gets the next book. It's great to watch these two grow together, it's low angst and no crazy ex's which was blissful for a change. Hunter was pretty creative when it came to places to do the deed. Had to hand it to him for that.
The last few chapters were highly emotional and made my chest ache, for more than one reason.
Absolutely great book Tracy!!

This was such an emotional book. We have a quarterback who is known as the golden boy, but nobody really knows him and what he is going thru. Then we meet Emerson, a sassy artist who is just trying to pay the bills as a new realtor. The way they meet in funny, and they have an instant attraction to each other, but she tries to fight it, because she does not want to lose her new job, which he steam rolled in having her in to show him houses. As they start to spend time together, she sees they is more to him, and that he is fighting some sort of battle. Then the real tragedy hits, and it breaks your heart, but even as he pushes her away, she fights, and they end up having there HEA. worth reading..

I love sports romances, so I was excited to read DOWN AND DIRTY. Tracy Wolff made this story believable and the characters realistic and it made me feel like I was right there with them and I never wanted to leave.

Hunter is the quarterback for the San Diego Lightening and has been playing professional football for nine years. Right now, he is going through a tough, emotional time and needs to buy a house.

Emerson has just graduated from college and on her first day as a real estate agent, she meets Hunter. Emerson can barely pay her bills and she needs the this job badly. But, of course, life doesn't get any easier for Emerson when her boss takes an instant dislike to her when Hunter requests Emerson to show him some houses. As Emerson and Hunter spend time together looking for houses, they fall for each other.

Hunter finds Emerson at the perfect time in his life. She brings stability and strength when he needs it the most. She cares about Hunter, the man and not what he can give her because he is a professional football player. On the outside Hunter seems like a cocky, arrogant athlete but once you get to know him and his situation, you realize he is a thoughtful sensitive guy going through a lot of bad stuff, that is not his fault. Hunter is dealing with a lot of things right now in his life and there is something about Emerson that calls to him. He is an emotional mess and Emerson settles him.

I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Hunter is a big, macho football player but he is also sweet, charming and vulnerable. He is attracted to Emerson's smart mouth. She doesn't let him get away with anything and she loves to give him a hard time. Yes, their relationship did move fast, but I didn't mind. It still worked for me. I loved everything about these two and their chemistry is off the charts. The are both smart and self assured but also have their insecurities, too. They had an intense connection and there are some very hot sex scenes. This is a beautiful story about love, loss and dealing with the curveballs life sends you and how having someone beside you, can help you deal with anything. This story is magical.

I enjoyed this book immensely! It's about time we saw a really genuine professional athlete that wasn't some sort of egomaniacal jerk with commitment issues. I loved Emerson too, she had just enough of a history to make her skittish. This book was well done, great flow and interesting from start to finish! I was sad, happy, giggling and hopeful many times throughout. I love the feels!

One thing that you don't get in the description, this is a very heartbreaking book at points. The whole book seems to center around the fact that Hunter is losing his sister to cancer. It's the reason he's even looking for a new home when he first runs into Emerson. Don't get me wrong, it's not all sad, I just wasn't expecting it or how sensitive Hunter is. He really cares about Emerson. At first he's drawn to her sassy side, but then he gets to know her and sees her "fake it until you make it", is a way to keep people out.
I will definitely be rereading this book again and can't wait to see what comes next from Ms. Wolff.

One of my favorite genres is sports romance- and Down & Dirty by Tracy Wolff fits perfectly into this category! Not to mention Tracy writes such a sexy, fast paced book that you don't really want to put it down!

This book tells a story of two people who meet and quickly become enamored with one another. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and it's a quick enjoyable read!
