A fun compilation of brainteasers and logic tests, some of which were too difficult for my aged mind (although maybe if I had been doing these types of puzzles my whole life, my brain would be sharp enough to solve these without any problem?) There are some basic illustrations to help set the scene, although mathematics plays a large part in these puzzles.

It would probably be a book one would dip into now and again, rather than working your way through the puzzles from front to back, but it has enough content to test the best of brains. There are 217 puzzles, with the solutions (thankfully) at the back of the book.

Why was this book merely ok? While it provided answers, it didn't offer any explanations. I think this could've benefitted with a few more details (Example: The answer is Y because the pattern is a reverse of A) to help the reader understand.

Contemporary Brainteasers by Terry Stickels presented over 200 different Brainteasers of varying difficulty levels. There were several different types of questions and I enjoyed the workout this put my brain through while trying to figure out some of these answers. The complete answer key is included in the back of the book by the way. I brought this on a long road trip and my hubby and I had fun and killed alot of time while figuring these out on our drive.

'Contemporary Brainteasers' by Terry Stickels is part of the Dover Recreational Math series, which should give you a clue about the type of brainteasers you will encounter.

There are 212 puzzles of varying degrees of difficulty. Some are word puzzles, some are visual puzzles. There are logic puzzles involving dice and paper folding. There are cube counting puzzles and plenty of math puzzles. The solutions are included in the back of the book.

I had a fun time giving my brain a workout on these. Some I could get and some I could not. I like that they were not all easy or hard but a mix. That helped keep my engaged in the puzzles presented.

My husband and I are ALWAYS trying to find good brain teasers and let me tell you some of these were insanely HARD but fun to do lol. I love having to exercise my brain and so does my husband.

Does exactly as it says on the tin!
Full of mind boggling puzzles-Lots of different types of mathematical puzzles. I was hoping for a few riddles too but they are mostly maths.
There are some you can do in a few minutes and some that will take much longer (unless you are extremely intelligent!)-Many are waaayyy to difficult for me! but it has the answers in the back if you are too stuck. Definitely helps keep the brain active.

A full modern, mathematical IQ test. Has a variety of posers, and a suitable progression in difficulty. I wish my e-arc had had working links from question to answer, but can't see any problem with the book.
