Essentially a picture book for adults, each two page spread covers one collective noun for a particular animal.

On one page there is a short essay. Perhaps it tells you something about the animal, perhaps it talks about the origin of the collective term.

The facing page has one of Sewell's watercolors illustrating the animal.

Charmingly illustrated but you won't find a huge number of terms here. For that buy Lipton's more comprehensive book.

Sewell has put together a charming collection of animals with their collective names, a few bits of information, a little bit of snarkiness and the most endearing, primitive portraits of each animal group. A book that will delight both children and adults
