Wake up and feel the wood! In the first of a series of irresistible standalone romances from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett, a city girl rediscovers love and lust in the Alaskan wilderness.

Valentine French may be the sassiest dating columnist in New York City, but the abundance of metrosexuals in her adopted metropolis is seriously cramping her style. Where are the beefy all-American boys? Hoping to find some inspiration, Val heads to Alaska, where the men outnumber the women fifteen to one and wrestle grizzly bears for sport. Or so she can only imagine. Suddenly the most eligible bachelorette in a town full of horny lumberjacks, Val is writing her best columns ever. But if she doesn’t get her nose out of her laptop, she just might miss out on Mr. Right.

Logan Burke is the sheriff of the little podunk town that Val finds so charmingly backward. He’s not that different from the guys she’s using for her little experiment; it’s just that one date would never be enough for Logan. As he listens to Val complain about love over beers in the local tavern, he realizes that she can’t see the forest for the trees. Because if she would ever give up her Prada bags and fourteen-dollar martinis, Logan would give her the only luxury that matters: his heart.

I love all of Sawyer Bennett's books, so when I saw that she had a new book out - I jumped at requesting it. I didn't think that I would get it and when I did, I got right to reading. It's unlike all her other books. It's not about hockey; it's standalone, it's not a suspense. It's just a heartwarming book about a guy and girl who meet and fall in love. You might be thinking that that's boring, but it's anything but boring!

It's about Logan, who's a Sheriff of this podunk town in Alaska. He's what you would describe as an all-around hot guy. He's six foot six of hotness and Valentine is interested in getting to know him on a deeper level. She's used to dating "metrosexuals" who are more interested in dating their phone than dating her, so for her to give up New York and move to Alaska, it's a huge step. It's a step that she's more than enjoying because of all things that are different there - the men being the main thing. She wants to date around and compare New York men to Alaska men, but she didn't count on Logan blowing all of her ideas out of the water. She also didn't want to share their relationship with the world on her blog. She wants to keep that to herself, so she takes her blog on hiatus. All good things must come to an end, especially when the good sheriff finds out about Valentine's blog. What happens when a couple of misunderstandings come between two people that are surely meant to be together? Check out Sawyer Bennett's new release and 5 star read!!

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on NetGalley for an honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

Well Sawyer Bennett has another great series on her hand!!

Sex In the Sticks is the first book in her newest standalone novel series. This was a great start. I loved the storyline and the characters. This book was fairly predictable but still amazingly enjoyable. It made me laugh, swoon, yell and fall in love.

This isn’t filled with a lot of drama, just enough to keep you interest piqued and the reader turning the pages. This is a fairly quick read, but I thought it was the perfect length and that the pace and flow were spot on. Everything you come to expect from a Sawyer Bennett story.

I have to be honest and say that this is one of my favorite books by Sawyer Bennett. I don’t really know why, there was just something about this book that I really loved. Maybe it was the characters, maybe it was the storyline, or maybe it was the setting in which this story takes place, but put all together it was a really fantastic read.

To be honest I was a little nervous about how much I was going to like Valentine (h) because I was afraid she was going to come off as snobby and rich and entitled, but I am happy to say she was none of those things. Once she left her native city of New York City and was placed in a small quaint town of East Merritt Alaska, she was a fun, sassy, and down to earth girl. I thought that her and Logan fit well together. Logan was the towns Chief of Police and your rustic man, who you just swoon over. He also had quite the dirty mouth ;) Melt your panties dirty!!!

I loved that Sawyer took these two slowly, but the attraction was instant. I was fun and entertaining to watch their friendship blossom. I also enjoyed watching Valentine’s eye open up too new things and to the possibility of love just by hanging out with Logan. Now not everyone was so welcoming to Valentine and her loud personality. This is where some of the drama was added to spice up the story, but everything was short lived and I loved how Valentine handled things (Darla). There was also a small secret that Valentine was keeping to herself about what she did for a job. What will happen when Logan finds out?? Can he look past her initial intentions of why she came to Alaska?? Can these two completely different people make it work and get the HEA they both deserve?? Read this fun and entertaining book to find out.

If you are a fan of Sawyer Bennett’s books, you don’t want to miss this gem of a story. I think she truly has written on of her best romance stories with this one. If you have never read a book by her, then Sex in the Sticks is a great place to start. Once you start reading her books you will be come addicted to her writing just as I am!!!!

ARC received for review

3.5 stars

This was a slow start, and there was almost no angst or drama. Logan was very yummy, but I don't think he would have ever done anything if Valentine hadn't made the first move. Great town with lots and lots of buff, outdoor loving guys to find HEAs for.

I really enjoy Sawyer Bennett's writing! Although I do wonder HOW in the world she is able to write books so quickly- it seems like she always has a new book coming out... lucky for her fans!!

This book was silly, sexy, and just an enjoyable read. Although I will say (spoiler free) that I was a little disappointed with the ended and definitely wanted more!

Sex In The Sticks is a rom com that is quite humorous at times. Logan is the Police Chief and mayor of the tiny town of East Merritt Alaska. It's a wilderness community that gets mostly visitors for fishing or people who work as loggers.
It's mostly big burly men with very few women. Valentine is from New York City and is an heiress that has her own blog about dating men in the city. She's tired of the men in the city and decides to go to Alaska and try out the men there and blog about it.
What happens is laugh out loud hilarious. There is some serious sexy times with Logan. Grab this book and find out what happens with her blog experiment.
I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from Net Galley for my honest review.

It is hard to go wrong with anything written by author Sawyer Bennett and SEX IN THE STICKS is no exception. Readers will love the sassy and bold heroine, blogger Valentine French. When Valentine finds herself in a dating rut, her cousin gives her the idea of trying her luck in the man-rich wilds of Alaska. There she meets hunky sheriff, Logan Burke, and sparks fly. Readers will enjoy this hot, steamy, funny, and romantic tale. Definitely recommend!

I become more and more a fan of Sawyer Bennett and her writing with each book I read. And this book was no exception. This story had me laughing and smiling at Val's antics. There wasn't anything about this book I didn't enjoy. I even came to like Audrey even though she isn't a big character in the book.

Valentine French is a blog from New York. She doesn't have to work but she does and she does it to make her parents mad. She comes from money but she enjoys writing a sex blog. Her family however doesn't agree with it. But Valentine is getting bored with the men she has been dating. They worry way too much about their money and appearances and she wants something more. Val wants a man who enjoys being with her that he's focused on her.

When Jeremy, Valentine's cousin, suggests taking a trip to Alaska Val jumps aboard. Valentine is all about going to Alaska to date men. But Val doesn't go there expecting to find happily ever after. She's not into that kind of thing. But one thing Val doesn't plan on either is Logan Burke aka the chief of police.

I LOVED every second of this book! I was laughing and smiling the entire time! I could not get enough of it. After reading some really bad books lately, I turned to my go to girl Sawyer Bennett to bring me out of my book funk and back to reading making me happy again.

Valentine decides it is time to expand her horizons and move on from her mundane life in NYC to see what other men are out there in the world. She is sick of all the metrosexual and wants to meet a man who is a real mans man. So, she heads to Alaska (taking her cousins advice). There she is one of a few women in a town of all men. Right off the bat she meets the town police chief and mayor Logan. Their chemistry is immediate, but start off as friends.

There wasn't a thing I didn't love about this book. It made my day!

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
This slightly humorous, contemporary romantic novel was fun to read. The characters are enjoyable and whilst it is slightly predictable, it made me smile. Logan is the perfect hero - sexy, kind, good looking good, a chief of police who seems to always rescue the beautiful heroine Valentine.
Also made me want to go to see Alaska in the future.
I like Sawyer Bennett's easy style of writing and if you want to read something light and frothy with some steamy scenes this book would be a good choice.

A fun, good read! I enjoyed the side characters as much as the main couple, and I can't wait to read more!

Sparks fly when a sexy, silly, superficial socialite meets a studly, sweet, swoon-worthy cop in the sticks of Alaska. Ok, enough alliteration - this book was pure steamy fun. Sawyer Bennett took the fantasy Alaskan wilderness guy (uber-ranger, lumberjack, bear-wrangler, what have you) and set it on super speed.

I was in the mood for something light and not too logical - this was the perfect blend of sex and silliness for a fast, light read. Valentine and Logan shouldn't make sense together but it was fun watching them fall for each other.

Sawyer has a knack for making you feel like you're exactly in the world with her characters. When I finished reading I felt like I had just spent a few weeks in the wild of Alaska. That's always something you can expect while reading one of her books. Totally and completely brilliant writing. The connection between Logan and Val was so strong. I felt their connection right off the bat. This book was so fun!

Sex in the Sticks was such a fun read. I just knew from the moment I read the synopsis of this book that I had to read it.

Told from dual points of view, Sex in the Sticks follows the story of Valentine and Logan. Valentine is a sassy, New York dating columnist She enjoys her work and writing about the men she dates, but lately has been finding her romantic life lacking. So, when her cousin suggests going to a small town in Alaska where there is an overabundance of men, Valentine jumps at the chance. However, she quickly discovers she is way over her head in more than one way. Men are flocking to her like wildfire and providing Valentine with some great writing material. The one thing she thought would never happen....Meeting Mr. Right. Logan has his work cut out for him when it comes to the likes of Valentine. But, as the sheriff of this small Alaskan town, he won't back down from any challenge. He can't quite figure Valentine out, but knows he's got to get to know her better. And what he finds is that there is so much more to Valentine than what meets the eye....

Overall, I found this book to be a fun and enjoyable read. I found the story-line to be fun and entertaining. I loved the idea of the big city girl, meeting a small town guy. I will be the first to admit that I didn't really love Valentine in the beginning. There was just something about her that was off putting to me. I couldn't always relate to her, but I will say, by the end of the story she did grow on me. Logan, I adored from the beginning. He was funny and the perfect small town guy with exciting alpha tendencies. He gave Valentine a run for her money and showed her how to relax and just enjoy the beauty that is Alaska.

Sex in the Sticks is a cute and sweet read. I thought this story had a lot of good angst and enjoyed the sweet romance and sexy good times. I think this series is off to a promising start and look forward to seeing where this series will go next.

I both liked and disliked this book which is rare as I usually always love Sawyer Bennett's books. Let's start with the positives. I liked the character Logan, A LOT! Its nice to see a book in this genre where the guy is a good guy up front instead of that bad boy. I need to uncover your secrets (although I do like those too). Logan is a real man's man. He lives in Alaska in a small town and I was amused because I know where Ketchikan, Alaska is, as my parents went on an Alaskan cruise a few years back and their boat broke down there! So needless to say most of their pictures were of this quaint little town on the water and even though I did not go with them, I saw the WHOLE town as my dad is an avid photographer so I was happy to kind of have my bearings to where this all took place. I also liked the townspeople and all the small town feel this book gave as I am living in a small town right now so it all felt very realistic. The sex scenes were fantastic and I have read a lot of SB books but this one was more erotic than other titles I have read. Reading it was like watching porn, that's how explicit the words were. I know a lot of new adult books are like that but this was different. Let's just say Valentine is really "good with her throat" and I think she even says that at some point.

What I disliked about this book was Valentine. Although by the end of the book I had sort of come around to like her more, in the beginning I really was not a fan. I really dislike the filthy rich princess type of girl in these books who has lots to offer in New York City but acts like an idiot anywhere else. I guess it makes the story though to have this hunky, smart, real man have to tend to her because she knows nothing about the wilderness and thinks she will get eaten by a bear everywhere she goes. Of course to add to the cliche, she has a little yapping dog named Sassy. It was like Paris Hilton goes to the woods only Valentine was a bit smarter and actually began to fit in after awhile. I just dislike when women are portrayed to be idiots and need men to help them out. I like the heroine to have a little bit of backbone and I didn't understand why she didn't just tell people why she was there to begin with to do research for her blog.

Anyway the sex scenes were hot and the ending was happy even though the epilogue was a bit much. I think the Hockey and the Last Call series are way better examples of how good Sawyer Bennett books are or my favorite book by her from the Off series, "Off Course". Who doesn't love a little Irish romance? However I will look for the next book in this series because I will always give Sawyer Bennett the chance to woo me again with her characters because 9 times out of 10, she does.

I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher however the opinions in the review are mine.

The book does include some graphic language and explicit context as the characters explore themselves and their connections. If you are easily offended or do not enjoy explicit writing, this book is not for you and you can stop reading this review.

If you aren't easily offended and love a good romance than this book is for you. The escapades of Valentine and Logan lead you through the pages without delay and leave you wanting to know what the next day brings so you aren't putting the book down. The plot is one that is unique to those more erotic novels out there with the female lead being strong, independent, and in charge of her sexuality. It was a refreshing change to read a novel in which the woman took what she wanted versus being told what she wanted.

There are a few typos throughout however nothing you can't read right through. I would defiantly read other works by this author/publisher as I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel.

This is the first non hockey related book I have read from this author. I wasn't sure what to expect however I ended up pleasantly pleased. This story reminds you that money doesn't always buy happiness. This book made me laugh and I truly loved the characters flaws and all! Great read!

Be still my heart! I didn't know I so badly craved an "Alaskan Bush People meets Blair Waldorf- esque book" but boy did I EVER! There are so many LAYERS to this book, it is not your average cliche'd romance where the snobby city girl meets remote Alaskan cop and fall in love instantly. This novel packs some serious HEAT in more ways than one!

I've been catching up on all my Sawyer TBR's (Hot hockey hunks, MC bad boys, Rockstars etc.) and this is by far my favorite! ( I know Roman, I still love you <3 ) The depth of her knowledge about various topics astounds me, and this is another book you will not want to miss!

The amount of actual romance and swoon-worthy moments is high between Valentine & Logan, but it's also very real. I appreciate the realness brought to life, and things are not always smooth sailing for our MC's. The descriptiveness of the Alaskan wilderness is on point, and had me Google earthing all these wonderful places.

Thank you for this beautiful story Sawyer, looking forward to the next up in the series Jilted~

Sawyer Bennett does it again with a 5 ***** story. We meet Valentine “Valley” who is wealthy, high maintenance and writes a dating blog. She is bored with the men in NYC and decides at the advice of her cousin to take a break and go to a small town in Alaska. Valley decides to go, date the men and see if the men are any different. I will say that at first I did not like Valentine, but as she arrives in Alaska she lets her guard down and becomes more likeable.

On the first day in Alaska she meets Logan who is the police chief and is kind and gorgeous. The story is very funny, sexy and sweet. It’s a very quick read and I did wish that the epilogue revealed more at the end. Perhaps Sawyer will continue the story or re-visit these characters, as I would love to hear more about Valentine, Logan and everyone else in the town. The supporting characters were great. Sawyers’ writing is so vivid that I always feel as if I’m right there in the book experiencing the scenes.

I was offered an advanced copy by Netgalley for an honest review.

This was a good read, and would've been 5 stars if there was more of a connection between the characters. I started out not liking Valentine because she really came off as shallow, but by the end of the book, she'd redeemed herself. Logan needed more detail about himself. I can't put my finger on it, but there just wasn't enough about him. As a couple, they did work in bed, but I just didn't buy that they belonged together for the long haul. The chemistry in the bedroom was sizzling, but out of it, not so much.

A light-hearted,fun read from Ms. Bennett. I couldn't stop reading! I needed to know what else Valentine was going to get into..I was captivated and entertained.
