The Dangerous Billionaire
Tate Brothers #1
Jackie Ashenden
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“You need me as badly I as I need you.”

Sullivan "Van" Tate is a Navy Seal that has been called home when his adoptive father passed away and left him his oil company. He also left him a letter that said he was left in charge to protect his adopted sister that is in danger from his enemy.
Chloe, the adopted sister, has been brought from her farm to NYC to see Van about the fact that she was left out of the will and he inherited everything.
His fathers enemy has made threats toward Chloe and it's Van's job to keep her safe. But he hadn't seen her in 8 years and wasn't expecting the chemistry that is between them.
They weren't raised together so there isn't a real sibling relationship between them.
Van has a lot of issues from his past after a mission went awry. And Chloe has daddy issues after basically being abandoned by her entire family and grew up all by herself.
This was a great romance with a bit of action too. I always enjoy my sexy military romances. I can't wait for the next book in this series to read about the next Tate brother.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

First book by this author and it was ok. Love navy seals love romance and intrigue just not a fan of step brother romances even foster brothers. But that's my hang up. All in all decent book with good characters.

What's better than a billionaire? A billionaire Navy SEAL! And what's hotter and naughtier than a billionaire Navy SEAL? A billionaire Navy SEAL that has the hots for his foster sister. Does that make you nervous? Fear not, dear reader, there's nothing creepy about this romance. To say this family was not close is putting it mildly. Chloe and Van hadn't seen each other in nearly a decade. Honestly, that little bit of almost-taboo just adds a dab of spice to this already hot novel.

Jackie Ashenden has been on my to-read list for far too long, and I finally got to dip my toe in her back-list waters with the Motor City Rebels series. And as much as I enjoy those, Dangerous Billionaire beats them, by far. If the rest of the Tate Brothers series is like this one? This will beat my previous reads hands down. This author is great at writing gritty stories, and hot heroes. The Dangerous Billionaire is not exception. Make sure to add this book to your wish-list - you won't be disappointed!

Cover Lovin': Goodness me, look at that lovely chest.

Recommendation: Book one, no prior knowledge necessary. But be warned, the hero and heroine are foster siblings (though they haven't seen each other in years), so if that's not your thing...

Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5)! This hot, hard Navy SEAL has been added to my harem of book boyfriends. And I can't wait for the next Tate brother to get his story!

The synopsis of this book reads like something I special ordered for myself. A NAVY SEAL who prefers combat to the treacherous terrain of a boardroom, the country girl determined to fight for what she wants in enemy territory and all that blistering passion between them? Heck, yes! Wealth, danger and passion? Just what the doctor ordered.

With their foster father's death, the Tate brothers have to step up and take on the empire he left behind, much to their chagrin. All military men, they prefer to be in the thick of battle than to cool their heels in an office, but their responsibilities to the Tate empire are ironclad.

First up is Van. He always knew he was being groomed to be the heir to everything but his father's will revealed one more task: to keep his foster sister Chloe safe. The best way to do so is to keep her with him and he's not willing to entertain her reservations. But Chloe is all grown up and very gorgeous, knocking him off his game in a big way.

Chloe has worked all her life to earn the right to her father's ranch but to her surprise, he left everything to her foster brother in his will. Chloe is determined to brave the city to get what she worked for. But the Van she meets is a different man from the one she grew up crushing on. Van has become even more attractive and hardened by his experiences, but the chemistry between them is still there and growing by the minute.

Their father's death has opened up a can of secrets, danger and betrayals and could destroy them if not handed carefully but Van and Chloe can't seem to get on the same page. Chloe discounts the threat to her, to her detriment and Van is consumed by his guilt over not being the perfect son his father wanted, putting both of them at risk.

One thing Ms. Ashenden knows how do in spades is write sizzling hot chemistry between her characters, with enough heat to melt your e-reader and Van and Chloe had it! In my opinion, Chloe could have made better choices if Van hadn't treated her like a child who didn't know what was good for her and Van needed to loosen up a little bit. But the heat between them? Totally made up for the stupid decisions they made:)

I had a few reservations about some reservations about the characters and some bits of the story, but for the most part I enjoyed it. I would have loved more interaction between the brothers, but I have that to look forward to in the next book. THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE is an exciting start to the series and I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

Iam a huge fan of Jackie Ashenden books so when I heard she had a new series coming out I was so excited ! and I dived into this story as soon as I possibly could and I loved it .The Dangerous Billionaire is and excellent start to the Tate Brother series

In this book we follow Chloe and Van . These two are foster siblings and when there father passes away , he leaves it in his will that Van is too protect Chloe because now that he is dead Chloe is no longer safe on the ranch where she grew up on, when they meet again Chloe cannot deny her feelings for Van when she sees him again and this is really where the story picks up . I love the romance it was sexy and thrilling and these are the usually words that come to mind every time I think of a romance written by Jackie Ashenden she always finds a away to crack up the heat and at the same time make you swoon . I felt she wrote the perfect story for Chloe and Van , however the romance wasn't the only thing I loved about this story. We go on a cat and mouse type of adventure in this book and let me tell you I could not sit down reading this book it constantly kept me on my toes .The minute I thought I knew who to trust things turned and I just love when a story has me guessing up to the very last minute.

The Dangerous Billionaire was a sexy , addicting , thrilling contemporary romance .I cannot wait to see what Jackie Ashenden has in store for the next book in this series. If you love all these things in your books you should definitely get a copy.

I'm not sure I fully understand what the far-reaching impact on a military career are of being seen kissing someone you are not related to would be, but setting that strange plot "fact" aside, this was a quick and steamy read, with plenty of drama and suspense thrown in.

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I couldn't get into it.

This entertaining read is filled with tension and intrigue as well as many secrets. The men are military and very tough cored.... an interesting combination for the woman who love their alpha's as such!

Three Tate brothers are Van the oldest and heir, Lucas who has my complete attention and Wolf the youngest brother. In this book, we get Van's story and a secret letter is given to him on the event of their foster dad, Noah's death. Also in this story is a younger sister, Chloe, Noah's daughter.

Secrets are so bad, they destroy people and break apart families. Further in this book the reader will see how all the lies and falsehoods can become very complicated.

The author does an interesting job of building the story and leaving room for the next books of this series. She introduces some back history of this family and events in Van's past that make him the hardened man he is today. Also, she leaves little nibbles of what is going on in Lucas and Wolf's current life. Of course, these little nibbles only make me crazy with wonder on what the heck Lucas was up to.

I admired Chloe and how she taught herself to be a survivor. Living without love and the touch of others is a horrible existence. Her character is heart breaking and rewarding to read and I felt the author presented her in a believable manner combining her roughness and softness.

I give this 3.5 STARS because I felt I need a little for umph to the storyline though I was thoroughly entertained and will read the next book to this series.

3.5 stars--THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE is the first installment in Jackie Ashenden’s contemporary, adult TATE BROTHERS erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on three foster brothers-Sullivan (Van), Wolf and Lucas Tate-as well as their foster sister Chloe Tate. This is Navy SEAL Sullivan (Van) Tate, and Chloe Tate’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Chloe and Van) THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE follows the Tate siblings in the aftermath of their father Noah Tate’s death. Called home from active duty, all three brothers find themselves the recipients of a letter outlining what the future has in store. Enter Chloe Tate, Van ‘s foster sister, and the woman that calls to his heart. What ensues is the protection and lock down of Chloe Tate in the face of a series of threats against our story line heroine. Van Tate is tasked with protecting his younger ‘sister’, a woman he hasn’t seen in close to eight years but a woman that means more to him than he had ever anticipated.

Chloe Tate has been in love with her ‘foster brother’ most of her life. Dejected and alone, our heroine spent most of her life on her father’s ranch, and with his death Chloe has hoped to take over the business she had come to love. But things don’t go according to plans when threats against her life come from an unlikely source-a source that is all to familiar to our story line heroine.

Sullivan (Van) Tate is a Navy SEAL; a career military man who spends his life in service to atone for sins of the past. Unable to move beyond what was and what should have been, Van struggles with his latest assignment ‘from the grave’-to protect the woman he sees as his little sister, and prevent the take over of his father’s company.

The relationship between Van and Chloe is one of mutual attraction but eight years have passed since they were last together. Van has always had a protective nature as it pertained to Chloe Tate, and with the latest threats against her life, Van goes alpha bear to protect the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, intense and seductive.

We are introduced to Van’s brothers, and Navy SEALS-Wolf and Lucas Tate. Wolf and Lucas also received a letter with orders from beyond the grave-orders that send each man in a different direction. Lucas’s story line is next in THE WICKED BILLIONAIRE.

THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE is a story of family, betrayal, secrets and lies. The presentation suffers with too many repetitive reminders about the past, internal dialogues (Chloe and Van) laced with self-pity and a defeatist mindset; and the believability factor is questionable. Van’s emotional self-depracating attitude and guilt override his personal well being, as well as a heroine who is TSTL (too stupid to live) as she continuously places herself in the line of fire believing she is impervious to the threats against her life. Chloe’s apparent rejection by the father she loved is another constant throughout the story-there is plenty of whining and self pity from both of our leading characters. There is very little in the way of conflict resolution so I am going to presume more is to come in the next installment(s).

THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE introduces the players and background to the Tate family history- a history marred by secrets and lies, and a father ill-equipped to look after the family he chose to raise. There are moments of heartbreak, sorrow and revelation; acceptance and moving on from the past. The premise is challenging; the romance struggles in the face of guilt; the characters are tragic and lost. Sadly, I struggled with some aspects of this introductory story but overall I am looking forward to see how it all plays out.

As a fan of Jackie Ashenden’s riveting storytelling, I couldn’t wait for this new series, featuring three brothers, billionaires and SEALS, no less. The Tate brothers have really picked my interest! Once upon a time, they were three orphaned boys living in foster care whose dreams came true when they were adopted by Noah Tate, a billionaire oil tycoon. Except Noah was an absentee foster father, mainly preoccupied by his business empire and his legacy. And, to his dismay, he had to watch his foster sons choose a military career over a business career and join the Navy SEALS.

Sullivan, “Van”, is the eldest Tate brother and has always been the one looking out for his younger siblings. After his father’s death, he wants to honor his last wishes and take the lead of the Tate business empire, at least for a short period. His younger foster sister, Chloe has been placed under his protection. As it happens, Chloe has had a crush on him when she was a teenager, but life happened and they were estranged.

Chloe is no damsel in distress, I liked her independent mind, she is defiant, stubborn and doesn’t like being told what she has to do. Van definitely had his work cut out for him, but he will do anything to protect her. His squadron commander’s leadership skills don’t impress her, though! She is still attracted to him and she likes the idea of Van protecting her. Chloe has led a lonely life and she has missed him.

Jackie Ashenden’s storytelling is fast paced and intriguing. There were layers upon layers of Noah Tate’s secrets to uncover and a hostile takeover to ward off. To be honest, I didn’t buy into some of the secrets revealed, and some plot twists felt contrived. Nevertheless, the characters were engaging and likeable, I definitely rooted for them. I enjoyed Van’s interactions with his brothers, Wolf and Lucas, these guys always have each other’s back. Overall, this book was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait for the next book featuring Lucas Tate!

Wow I just love this author and her books they just get better and better. It's smoking hot at times you need to cool down before you carry on as the scenes in this are really steamy. Lol Sullivan 'Van' is a navy seal, a billionaire, the heir in waiting and Chloe is his foster sister who needs protection because their dad had an enemy and a secret. What transpires is a passionate page turner that keeps you in suspense . I could not put it down and didn't want to, the very end and then I wanted more. So glad there are two other brothers in this story and it is quite clear that on their fathers death the letter they all received had a secret. I am hoping we will find this out in the following books very soon coz I can't wait so please can we have it soon lol loved this book and this author and you totally need to read her books so will recommend and I have left review on Amazon.uk for you.

This is the first in a brand new series by Jackie Ashenden. Three foster brothers, all Navy seals, and a their sister are thrown for a loop when their dad dies unexpectantly and they are thrust into a situation with his company and his enemy. Van is the oldest and the heir to the company and is expected to take charge of it and his baby sister. Their attraction for each other confuses things and they fight the attraction for a variety of reasons. Chloe has no idea she is the not the biological daughter of her who she thought was her dad. He leaves her nothing in his will either. Knocked down by these revelations she's even more upset than she was by the way she was treated by him before his death. Now she and Van are facing a threat from her real father. I don't know. I wanted to like this book. I liked the idea. The three brothers are Navy Seals. They are all different and intriguing but you don't see enough of them in this book. Lucas comes back a few times even though he keeps saying he can't and he's in the middle of something life or death. Wolfe you never hear from him again once he leaves at the beginning. I wanted to see them work together more but Van and Chloe don't even tell them they are together. Van and Chloe were interesting at times and other times whiny and not being very smart. I felt all over the place on how this book worked for me. Parts of the dialogue was great. Other times i just wanted to put it down and walk away. Not sure I'm going to stick with this series unfortunately. Going to have to see the blurb and maybe a excerpt for the next book to decide.

When I first picked up this book the beginning reminded me of another story I had read by a different author, where the adoptive father had passed away and left each of his three adoptive sons a letter along with his last will and testament, and that was the end of any similarities. This story had to totally different feel to it and I was hooked.

Van has been tasked with the protection of his adoptive sister Chloe, there is a ten year age difference but that didn't hamper the fact that they each tried to fight the attraction they felt towards the other. Cesare De Santis (you may recognize this name if you have read Billionaire Fairytales series) has had a long hatred for Noah Tate and now that Noah has passed it would be a perfect time to get what he has always wanted but will he be able to break through the Tate boys to get it?

This was a great beginning to a new series by Jackie Ashenden and I cannot wait to read Lucas' story which will be out later this year.

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

The Dangerous Billionaire was exactly what the doctor ordered. It's a great read for one of those days where work was piling up and chores weren't getting done, and even though you need to do the dishes, it's time to sit down and escape from real life. Van is the oldest of three adopted Navy Seal brothers, and when their mogul adopted dad dies, he leaves them with a mess of business and a foster sister, Chloe, who's all grown up and now in danger. It's just the right mix of romance and adventure for an escapist read. We're looking forward to more from Jackie Ashenden from The Tate Brothers Series, as these foster brothers find love.

~ARC was given by the publisher made avaialble via NetGalley.~

As the first book in the series, and a new author for, I do not expect much. Yes. I am that kind of reader. I would read whatever book given to me, regardless of he past reviews. I tend to form my own thoughts when it comes to books. Each book is different, therefore they should not be judge by according to the norm.

To be honest. It was a struggle for me to continue reading the book. The start of the book was nice, but when Chloe was introduced, it get too dicey.

The thoughts of both characters were too much. It began to bore me. I was trying to fast read some of the thoughts, I wanted to read the conversation between them, rather than what was on their mind.

It took a good turn half way through my reading, the phase started to kick and the action started to happen. It was a little part, but it made me enjoy the book.

All in all, not bad, as the first book, we are given the main reason for the change. It might be a big of a ripple, but it is there. I would like to know more about the rest of the brothers. Especially Lucas. then again, Wolf's character is interesting too.

I give this 4 stars. It is because of the start of the book and how it ended. Yes, I love the ending.

3.75 STARS

Van Tate and his two brothers were taken in by Oil Billionaire Noah Tate. He raised them into good men, expecting them to one day take over the business. However, after his father death Van is left in charge not only of the family business but in addition of the protection of his little sister Chloe (not blood related) who's in danger. This comes to disrupt his plans of going back to being a Navy SEAL.

Chloe is the girl that never felt like a real sister to him. She's ten years younger than Van, and he only remembers the little girl who was so full of smiles for him whenever he came home for the holidays. Now she's this beautiful grown woman, who needs his protection but doesn't want it! All she wants is to go back home to Wyoming and take care of her horses.

I would have love it if I had been warned that this series is a spinoff of a previous series! I was really taken aback!! I love this author and her writing style as well as her stories in general. However, this book was as amazing as all the ones I have read before (this is just my personal opinion).

I'm not going to be a critic of the writing and editing issues, since what I read was an actual ARC. When I get the chance I'll be reading again from the copy I've already purchased.

The story-line and plotting were okay, but there was still something missing for me and other times it was hard to believe. Overall, the story was a nice suspense romance, with characters that were way to interesting, intriguing and captivating to kept me reading till I flipped the last page. In addition, knowing that the final product was not the one I was reading make it easy while rating the book!!

Author Jackie Ashenden always delivers at the end of the day, so if you ask me I will say, go ahead and give it a try, she's one of my favorite authors for a reason!!

I almost didn't finish this book but I forced myself to finish.

I just couldn't stand Van and Chloe and the story didn't grab my attention.

The Dangerous Billionaire was a bit repetitious at the beginning but then things started to progress and I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the story and invested in the characters journey. I loved the overall of not living your life to other's expectations because you're doomed to fail in living up to it instead live for yourself.

I enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next in the series.
