Well, wasn't that fun.

Let's just be real. You are here because of the story, the blurb is intriguing...but, the reasons you looked in the first place are the cover (because, hello) and the billionaire SEAL because, well, it's a BILLIONAIRE. SEAL.

If that isn't one of the things that got you here, turn right back around because this book is exactly what you expect. It's hot, he's rich, he's super alpha, capable of leaping buildings in a single bound (wait, he was going down the building, but nevermind that detail, the meaning is there) and really into his woman. Although, it does take him a bit to admit that to himself.

Van and Chloe are great for one another. I loved the slightly forbidden aspect of them being pseudo siblings as he is her foster brother, but really, the connection is far enough removed that no one, but Van when he is trying to protect her, is going to care all that much.

You get what you are expecting with this book, a fun, hot sexy ride with a couple of characters you enjoy and who steam up the pages with their sexy times. This is not my first book by this author, but it is definitely one of my favorites. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series, because, well...Billionaire. Seals.

Enough said.

Great start to a new series. Looking forward to learning about all three Tate brothers and what their adoptive father has planned for them beyond the grave. Van is a Navy SEAL and now heir to a fortune. Chloe is shocked to learn her father left her nothing in his will and finds out she is in danger. Van and Chloe have been attracted to each other for years and now that he must protect her can he keep is distance and keep her safe? I was hooked from beginning to end. I liked the story and the chemistry is steamy. A very entertaining read.

Not my favorite book from Ashenden. I normally love her books, but I found this storyline to be hard to get into. I wasn't crazy about Van and Chloe. I hope other books in the series will be better.

Note, I did receive an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley.

Hmmm, mixed feelings on this one. Usually this author keeps my attention but this one was unusual in that it didn't and I really had to push through.

Good concept and I had high hopes entering it - thought this would be an awesome series. However although I enjoyed the second half of the book and the ending I thought that the characters were a bit repetitive in their narrative and kind of annoying in places.

Will read the next though as the series itself caught my attention. See if I enjoy it more - there wasn't too much about the other brothers in this one...

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book from NetGalley and St.Martin's publishing.

This book kept you hanging on by the seat of your pants. I never knew what was going to happen next. Chloe was the daughter of an oil tycoon. She had three older foster brothers that went away to become navy seals. She stayed behind to manage her dad's ranch. Then suddenly her father died and her oldest brother Van summoned her to New York to discuss the will. She has been harboring feelings for Van since she was sixteen. He is ten years older and hasn't seen him in eight years. As soon as they see each other there is a current between them that neither can explain. There are some twists with the will and danger lurking for Chloe. As Van and Chloe spend time together they begin to realize they have strong feelings that can't be ignored. And wow! When they succumb to each, its hot. I love how Jackie tied this story to the other Billionaire series. Can't wait to see what happens next. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy.

Jackie Ashenden writes some of the best alpha-males in romance today. Van Tate is broody and strong while also being incredibly protective and sweet with his foster sister, Chloe. I am excited about these Tate brothers, and I am looking forward to the next two books in the series. Ms. Ashenden's romances are always sexy with the perfect amount of angst and romance.

What a great beginning of a new series!! This book had me captivated from the beginning and I couldn't read it fast enough!

Van, Lucas and Wolf were fostered by an oil tycoon (Noah Tate). Their dad is found dead and it's ruled accidental, but Van doesn't believe it was. Van, since he's the oldest, is now in charge of Tate Oil. Him and his brothers are all Navy SEALS and being the head of a business isn't something he wants to do. Each man was given a letter by their father as to what he expected from them when he died.

Chloe Tate lives and manages the family ranch in Wyoming. It's all she ever wanted to do. She is summoned to New York when her father dies by Van. She has to find out why the ranch wasn't left to her and she will do whatever it takes to get it back!

Chloe always had a crush on Van and when she goes to New York and sees him again after 8 years, the wanting/needing him is still very much there for her. She finds out that Van also wants her, but can they share just one night of steamy sex? After all, isn't it taboo to want that with your foster brother?

Loved this book from the beginning! I thought the characters were likable and real! There's nothing like a hot Navy SEAL in a story!! This book was not only captivating, but it was hot, mysterious and nail biting! I look forward to reading the rest of the series and find out what Lucas is up to and what Wolf's story is!

Featuring two strong characters, this story by Jackie Ashenden is enthralling. Van Tate and his two brothers grew up in a boys home. Adopted by Noah Tate, they grow up to be good and honorable. Van is left the company but does not want it. Until he reads the letter left by his father. Chloe is the little sister who is not an actual sister. Tate remembers her as a happy child but then reality sets in: she has grown into a beautiful young lady who, according to this letter, needs his protection. Chloe, however, has other ideas and that is where this story shines. Experience their growth and understanding for yourself.

Overall this was a good read with a very hot Seal who came home to take over his father's empire. Van and his brothers each receive an envelop from their father along with the will. We don't know what the brothers missives are but Van is tasked with keeping Chloe safe. Chloe is their foster sister who has been living and running the ranch in Wyoming. Danger is afoot and Chloe is in the midst and she does not want anyone taking over her ranch. Oh, and she has had a crush on Van forever. Lots of sexy chemistry, heat, angst, danger, mystery, and intrigue keep this story moving.

This was not my favorite read but I am glad I read it.

3-5 stars
'The Dangerous Billionaire' by Jackie Ashenden is book One in the "Tate Brothers" series. This is the story of Sullivan “Van" and Chloe. Van has been left in charge of the family and the family business. Chole, Van, and two other brothers were the foster child of Noah Tate. Noah Tate is down dead leaving most everything to Van. Chole who ran the family ranch is somewhat upset that her foster father didn't leave the ranch to her. When she is summons by Van to come to NYC she goes to try to convince him to leave her the ranch. Van and his brothers are Navy Seals who have no desire to be businessmen but they have a great sense of honor to their foster father Noah. So they settle in to do as their foster father asked. Van feels that Chole is possible in danger and he plans to keep her safe.

Navy SEAL Sullivan "Van" Tate is the reluctant heir to his adopted billionaire father's fortune. Chloe Tate is shocked when she is called to NYC from the Wyoming family farm she has always lived on to find that out that she is in danger and left out of her father's will. As Van and Chloe find themselves with different objectives the one thing they cannot deny is neither thinks of the other as a foster sibling anymore.

Jackie Ashenden brings dark and lethal to the forefront with the first book in her new Tate Brother's series, The Dangerous Billionaire. This author deftly used Van's uncertainty over his foster sibling role as an element of uneasiness in her story that gave it a grit and desperation. As Van fought to contain his and Chloe's attraction Chloe went out of her way to provoke it leading to a powerfully charged sexual undercurrent that when accepted exploded off the pages. As information came to light so did this couple's recognition of the inevitability of their love for each other. Ms. Ashenden has an aptitude for baring her characters deepest pain and sharing it in a brutally emotional manner making for stories that linger and sting even as they ultimately result in happiness. The Dangerous Billionaire is signature Jackie Ashenden and promises a series full great writing and edgy love.

I am a Huge fan of Ms. Ashenden's work and when this gem came up about a new series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. In this series we have the Tates'. Sullivan known as Van, Lucas and Wolf, all Navy SEALS and heir to the Tate Oil fortune. In a turn of events we also have Chloe Tate, their foster sister.. So upon the death of their Father, the boys are all given letters with specific instructions. Van, being the oldest, is tasked with protecting Chloe, from Cesare de Santis. If you have been reading Ashenden's books that name should be familiar to you. Van sets out to do as his Father asks and little does Chloe know, the bomb that is about to explode her entire world. During the course of the story while Van is trying to protect Chloe, they fall in lust. For Chloe not so much, because she has had feelings for him that were not of the brotherly sort, since she was 16. Van fights his feelings, feelings that he feels are wrong for his foster sister until he can't anymore. Eventually secrets are exposed that needed to be said in order for Van to be free of his demons and allow himself to fall in love with Chloe. I did find the relationship that the brothers had kind of distant and cold. They seemed to pull it together when they needed to but it seemed more that they did not get along with each other as they should. Even with Chloe, Lucas seemed very cold towards her. I also didn't quite like the angle of foster brother and foster sister getting together that much. It was a bit repetitive, I mean you know they aren't blood related but still it was repeated over and over. In the end they are met with some opposition to their union but they decide to have their HEA. 3 stars!

The Dangerous Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden is the first book in the Tate Brothers series. This series concerns three foster brothers (all Navy Seals) that were adopted by a very rich man. Upon their father’s death, the brothers are left everything but his daughter inherits nothing. Why? It held an interesting story line and drew me in to read it. The main characters Chloe and Van danced around each other for way too long. They are both unhappy with their fathers death and in general seem unhappy with life. They are both attracted to each other but feel it is wrong due to their family dynamics. He is ten years older than Chloe but she has loved him since she was a teenager. Van was assigned a task in a letter to defend Chloe against a sworn enemy of her father.
I found the pace to be slow in the beginning and the story just a little bit confusing for a while. The plot was suspenseful, but should have been reduced in length. It was a bit repetitive, and I found myself skipping forward a few times to get to a change in the story line. I am interested in reading the next in the series concerning the other foster brothers Wolf and Lucas as their personalities seem more solid.

I have read a couple of different books and series by Jackie Ashenden, and the one thing I can say is that each series is different. This seems like the beginning of a new series about 3 brothers ( although she does seem to like that theme) who are all Navy Seals. Dad owned a major oil company and at his passing, left the oldest, Sullivan as the head of it. Oh and also the safety of their younger foster sister who because of this particular storyline may be in trouble. Interestingly Chloe, the foster sister has always had a huge crush on Van as he is known, and thus we have a romance. I actually thought the plot was really good and the entire story was enjoyable. I did get tired of Van running hot and cold in his feelings towards Chloe thinking that, that behavior went on too long, but it kept the story going. A fun read, and a satisfying HEA. Looking forward to the next in this series. Thanks as always to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this for an honest review.

This book was ok. I'm a fan of this author and have enjoyed everything I've read from her but this one was a bit disjointed. You've got to suspend belief with this plot, which I can normally do but their seemed to be too many things that didn't add up for me. On top of that, I didn't like Van. The Hero's are what draw me, personally, to a book. I never felt his connection to Chloe. It really bothered me that Van and his brothers didn't visit Chloe for 8 years. They are foster siblings but grew up together. Pretty much everyone abandoned Chloe and I couldn't seem to get past that. It was a fast paced storyline and the brothers stories have potential, but I wish they were more eager to help Chloe since she was in danger. Hopefully that will get answered in their book. ARC provided by NetGalley.

I liked it, the storyline was good. I found it was a v easy read. If you want a light book for when you don't be too absorbed this is perfect. Light and a good story.

However, I didn't connect that well with the characters. I didn't find either that likeable or even interesting.
Overall it wasn't that memorable but I enjoyed the read

I have read very few SEALs books, this book was very interesting, I really liked it and read it in one sit. Van and Chloe are a different kind of romance couple, from the once I usually read. The plot line was good, I would've love to have more action, more SEAL training into it. The forwardness of Chloe was innovative but I think Van was lacking a bit of something. Being a SEAL commander I would've given him more action. However, I am intrigued with the rest of the Tate brothers and their stories. So I will be looking forward for the next book.

jackie ashenden's latest series introduces the tate brothers, sullivan a.k.a. van, lucas, and wolf, in the dangerous billionaire. foster brothers, navy seals, mega rich and stupidly attractive, it's hard not to see the appeal. since enlisting they haven't spent much time together, but their foster father's death and the subsequent demands of his last will and testament forces them to reunite to protect their father's company. as the eldest the largest share of the burden falls to van, and he's also charged with protecting their foster sister, chloe.

(is it a little sketchy that this romance is between a foster brother and sister? on the one hand they are in no way related by blood. van has 10 years on chloe so they technically weren't raised together. except that they still spent a lot of time together thinking of each other as siblings. the author tries to write her way out of the ick factor, and for the most part you can forgive the characters, but it is still a bit icky.)

chloe is at turns devastated by her father's death and infuriated with more of his broken promises. when van requests her presence in new york city she takes her first trip away from the family's wyoming ranch. she believes that he's going to discuss their father's will. but he's brought her to new york to protect her and there's no way she can return unless she listens to him.

she's felt abandoned by van all these years, so she's not too keen on listening. which creates some actual problems because there is a real threat to chloe's safety. everything is tied to a big secret regarding chloe's past, and revealing more would spoil some of the twists and turns in the story.

i'm intrigued to see where this series is going, and if it will intersect with the fairy tale billionaire series ashenden is also writing. because i can't help but wonder if wolf will end up playing the big bad wolf in one of those.

Entertaining read from Jackie Ashenden - first in a new series. I liked the premise of this book, and enjoyed reading about Van and Chloe, especially about their "family" relationship when they were younger. I was almost expecting there to be more suspense surrounding Noah's death, but it was all about the de Santis angle. I found that I wanted Chloe to be more firm at the end and not just relent to everything Van said, but eventually Van wised up and made it right. I'm looking forward to reading about the other Tate brothers.

I always look forward to books by this author and have previously read her Motor City Royals and Texas Bounty series, but I just couldn't get into this one at all. After a couple of attempts to finish the book, I realised one of my biggest issues was the constant whining by both lead characters.

Apart from being repetitive in parts, this isn't a bad book, however I expected more from Van being a Navy SEAL, but his inner strength never seemed to surface. And Chloe was just plain annoying. I’ll give the next story a try, but I hope that whichever brother is portrayed, shows more endurance.
