The Dangerous Billionaire by Jackie Ashenden was the first book in her Tate Brothers series and it set the tone for a great new series with some characters we saw in some of her latest work. I am looking forward to reading the upcoming books in the series and how the brothers handle the will of their adoptive father. Great characters and an interesting plot. I appreciate the opportunity to read the book and Thank Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I found this very disappoint and not this authors best work.

The billionaire is Sullivan "Van" and he's a Navel Seal. There are three foster brothers (all Navy Seals by the way) and Chloe.

Chloe loves and works on the family Wyoming ranch. But when their father dies, Van is left in charge as well as inheriting the ranch. Chloe is heartbroken and also learns that her life is in danger.Their father had some dangerous enemies and now they believe they might be after Chloe. All three brothers are Navy Seals.

So Chloe is summoned to New York and while there she hopes to convince Van to give the ranch over to her.

Chloe has had a crush on Van for forever and while in New York they have a night of sex. Well Van says that's it and can't happen again. Chloe is seeking love and wants more. Repeat!!!

So I found Chloe to be a brat (sorry, that's the word that kept coming to mind) and a girl with major Daddy issues. And Van was always negative and pushing Chloe away. The bickering was childish and immature. I found neither character had depth and each irritating in their behavior and actions. It was a flat story line and not the authors best work.

Always love Jackie Ashenden's books. then never fail to keep me reading. Van ends up trying to protect his stepsister from her real father. A must read book.

This book wasn't bad. I've never read anything by the author that I know if but I was invited to read the book and like I said, it wasn't bad. I liked the relationship between Van and Chloe and the thriller aspect with the danger from de Santis but honestly throughout the majority of the book I was so distracted wondering what was going on with Lucas that I felt like that was what pulled me through the story only to not even find out.

What would you give up for love? The Tate family have just lost their father and he has thrown them all for a loop. He has given them each a letter but they don't know what they contain. Van realizes that he has to protect his adopted sister Chloe but why him? He just wants to go back to base and be the Seal that he is. Chloe is so angry with her father, he promised that she would get the ranch and then he changed his mind and she has no idea why she has to come to NY to see Van.
Van knows that he will do anything for her and even if he feels has other feelings for her, he can't go there. Chloe didn't know how hard it was going to be seeing him again as she has missed him so much and she never understood why he stopped coming home and she knows that she is going to fall even hard for Van.
Chloe finds out that her father wasn't her real one and that he kept it hidden all this time and now her real father wants to use her. Van can't allow her to be taken ever and he will do whatever he has to keep her safe. But he is blinded by his feelings for her and she goes with the man that can destroy the Tate family.
Can Van get her back and do the right thing or will he just push her further away? Quite a ride. The Tate boys are seriously hot but all seem to be troubled by something. The old man wasn't always the best father but he did instill honor in his boys. Can't wait to read the next one as I think that Lucas is going to be a real hard case.

This book has a good mystery attached to this story. I enjoyed this book, the characters are all very interesting and I found that the book was written well.

So here's the deal. Plot line is good, characters are good, developement is good. What's absolutely horrendous is the way the Lord's name is used in vain on every other page. Unacceptable no matter what your personal beliefs are. It was so offensive, I couldn't even read sections. This author is too good to use such a lack of imagination to come up with a better phrase!

I have read many books by Ms. Ashenden and have loved them all with the exception of one, now two. The issue I had with that book was the heroine. She was immature and childlike. Same issue here. I really did not like Chloe. She was very whiny and complained about her dad all of the time. I was tired of it. Sullivan (Van) was no better. The storyline was good but I was bored through 70% of it. At around the 70% mark it became more interesting (when Cesare entered the picture). The last third of the book was what I wanted out of the whole story. I am interested in Lucas and Wolf’s stories, especially Wolf.

The dangerous billionaire is another story in the series but it was the least favorite. The writing was sufficient, character interesting well develop. But for me it was too many and too much of repeating things, memories feelings thoughts over and over and over again. It was too much if it wasn’t for excellent describing passion like Jacki masters I would be totally disappointed. Chloe and Van did not impressed me but like I said it if wasn’t for their explosive chemistry….
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Van is Chloe's foster brother. After their foster father died secrets came out that changed everything. Van is charged with keeping Chloe safe. Chloe has been in love with Van for some time. So when they're forced to be together night and day feelings are explored. Question is, how far are they willing to take it.

I loved this book, although it seemed to drag in a few places at the beginning, it finally picked up and then I didn't want to put it down. The "taboo" relationship between Van and Chloe was hot, and I'm glad they finally came to terms with the whole thing.

Jackie Ashenden can do no wrong. She writes wonderfully complex characters that are easy to relate to, especially when it comes to their emotional nuances. I can't recommend her to enough of my readers!

I did not enjoy this book. I really look for sweet, romantic and hot reads and this book had way too much drama and not enough romance to hook me. That said it was well written. I just did not grow attached to the characters to want to read this whole book and it was just too little romance and way too much drama for me.

The story is about this rich guy who dies. He leaves behind a giant mess, a ranch, oil business, 3 foster sons and 1 daughter and an enemy of the entire family. Van is tasked with keeping the daughter safe, Chloe does not know the foster brothers well, she grew up on the ranch and they were so much older than her. She is told she needs protection and she does not take it well.

Largely I did not feel the heat or romance between Van and Chloe. He was over ten years older than her and he knew her from an infant. It was really hard to imagine a romance between these two. Also Chloe was not that interesting a character as she was kept on the ranch for 25 years. I mean not even a vacation. She just did not seem like a strong lead to me.

Then there was the suspense and drama of the bad guy after her. I just did not feel it. It made very little sense once the big secret was out. I totally could understand why the bad guy was mad but not why he was after Chloe. I don't want to spoil much so I can't way more than that.

When the Tate brothers father dies unexpectedly, they all meet in NY where his large oil business was based. All three brothers are Navy SEALs. Sullivan "Van" is the oldest and so blinking dominant that despite his brothers warnings that he is not their CO, he runs right over them. After the reading of the will which Tate leaves everything to Van, each son also receives a letter. Van's is special. Because they have a foster sister back home in Wyoming who is running the ranch and Van is in charge of keeping her safe. Because of her fathers rather shifty dealings which come to light more clearly throughout the story, he fears for her safety. With good reason. And only Van knows why. Chloe is summoned to NY City, angry and upset at not only being summoned but he's taking her away from the ranch and her projects she's got going on. Chloe was left nothing in the will.
To say the father was less that any semblance of a father to these three men is an understatement. Along with his lies and deceit to both them and Chloe, Chloe comes to never expect anything from anyone. A lesson hard learned vis her father's neglect. Her only bright spot growing up is Van.
Van taught her how to ride. The boys were shipped off the boarding school while she remained at home, but when they'd come home, there would be Chloe waiting. Always making him happy to see her. Until 8 years ago when he stopped coming home. With no explanation and not a word.
This story is a romantic suspense one that had a few crazy twists in it. The story really focuses on Van and Chloe and their past and present. It's a great read. Van was really hard to like much of the time. Chloe I really liked. Van had good qualities don't get me wrong, he just didn't know how to put it all out there. There's plenty of steam in this book too and these two burn it up. It's well done and not over the top. Great read as always Jackie!! I look forward to the next brother's book, hopefully Lucas.

First time reading a book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. The characters are well developed and the storyline was complete. She covered the taboo subject fairly well and didn't leave the story dangling too long before we got closure. Lots of side potential left with unanswered questions of what's in Lucas and Wolf's letters. Will be meeting a lookout for the next books.

A very quick read! And even though Van and Chloe's story has come to an end there is still unanswered questions! I think something is up with that snow globe!!! I really hope there is a surprise with that in one of the upcoming books.

Van is definitely one hunk of a man for sure. He commands very well and showed a little dom side with the get on your knees.

Lucas... could you make a character more elusive??? And Wolf? Dying to know what was in his letter. And I do hope that all three brothers are included in each of their individual stories.

What didn't work??? Are we to believe none of them talked to Chloe at the funeral or the two weeks they were back home?? Fail

I was given an ARC in exchange for a honest review by St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley.
This is the first book of the Tate Brothers.
Navy SEAL Sullivan "Van" Tate has been called home because his father has died, what he didn't expect was having to watch over his step-sister Chloe Tate.
Not everything is as it should be!!!!
New series by Jackie Ashenden

I loved the tension between the main characters and how the world tied in with the Billionaire Fairy Tales.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I am sorry to the author for this but I could not force myself to finish this book. It was a major struggle to get the the half way point of this book and I just can't go on. I did not like either of the main characters Chloe or Van. The writing was bad, keep saying the same stuff over and over again, it got very old and annoying very quickly. The story is very unbelievable, I believe dragons shift into really hot men more then I will ever believe this story could happen. I really did try to read this book but I cringed every time I though about picking this book back up again. I wish the author luck but this book was just bad.

Van & Chloe 3 star so, no review. This book was slow, plodding and , at times, downright boring. The last 6 chapters were great. Had the rest of the book been that great, it would have been worth the time that was wasted. So sorry to have to write this about an author I love to read, as a rule.
