First of all I have to say i've started writting a review 3 times and wasn't satisfied with my words because i didn't think i described all prasie that it deserves. So i think i finally did and here it is:

I've been waiting for this book since November when i received ARC of ROYAL SCANDAL and i have to say it was the longes wait ever but worth every minute of it. I think i fell (a little) in love with Brooks in Hard to fall and then i hated him (a little) when he exposed the Sinclars to the world.

But reading this book i was just soooo happy for Charlotte that she decided to brake a few rules for a little piece of happines even if i was meant to be just for a little while. I always find it funny when men in the books think they can "escape" from falling in love. I loved how Marquita managed to keep me turning the pages, dying to see what comes next. With the sexy and funny dialogues you're definitly gonna fall hard for this two - TRUST ME!!!!

I decided not to finish this book because I didn't feel a strong connection to the story or characters. I will not be rating it or writing a full review, but I appreciate the opportunity.

Royal Affair was a royally delightful book!

Brooks and Charlotte are total opposites... I have to be honest, I wasn't sure if Brooks had it in him to truly be her HEA. But boy oh boy was I pleasantly surprised!

Charlotte is a tried and true Princess in every way... she is quiet and proper, but is sick of being the one that doesn't get to do what she truly wants and let go. Brooks is someone she has been interested in for a while now, and when she finally gets her chance, she goes for it 100%.

These two characters were so fun to read! I have been a fan of Marquita's for so long now, every time she comes out with a new book, I drop everything I am doing and read it non stop!

Well done once again!

A lovely fluff romance between the spare heir to the crown- Charlotte- and Brooks- a media guy. This could go wrong in so many ways but Valentine (what a great name for a romance writer) keeps it light and fun,.

The Royal Affair follows Sinclair "spear" twin Charlotte and the CEO of Walker Media, Brooks as they have a royal affair. These two couldn't be more different, but together they are absolutely perfect for each other. Brooks helos Charlotte to be wild and shows her when to take orders. Charlotte helps ground Brooks and show him the man he was always meant to be. Their love story is all about sacrifices and the sacrifices we make for the ones that we love.

I was drawn in by the plot which seemed fun, and I love royal romances. But I didn't actually get through the book without skimming because I didn't love the hero and the plot just seemed a little silly, any complications were explained away so quickly...just not a lot of substance but not sure what I was expecting.

Cute love story. I love these royal books.
Glad Charlotte got to break some rules and fall for someone unexpected. Can’t wait for the next book.

This one just didn’t have the same wit and humour the last one did. I didn’t like the premise from the beginning and it never got better for me.

The royal wallflower meets the reporter...

Brooks is the reporter that shoved the Sinclair family back into the news which created a big issue for the royal family. Although most of the Sinclair family hates Brooks, Charlotte, the quiet “spare” heir, can’t help but be attracted to him. Their courtship is not approved by her family but Charlotte follows her heart even though she knows that Brooks could print another truthful story full of her families deepest secrets. Brooks had every intention of writing another expose on the royal family but things don’t go according to plan.

There is betrayal, love, steamy scenes and the return of a bitter family rival. I absolutely adored Charlotte and Brooke’s story.

I can’t wait to see what awaits Theo and Gen.

Valentine has written one of the best Royalty romances I've read. She also added in that secret crush and enemies to lovers. There's so much to this book and if I tried to tell you everything we'd be here all night. Royal Affair was fun and engaging as well as sinfully sweet. It's one everyone needs to pick up.

Finally, a romance book that got me back into the genre. This book was sweet, with a great plot, and just enough romantic angst to keep me happy. This installation was about Princess Charlotte and Brooks, the man who outed her family and sent them out of hiding. I loved Charlotte, she was as relatable as a princess can be. Brooks was the "villain" that wasn't so villainish as we first think.

The character development was perfect for these two characters, and the complemented each other so well. I loved Brooks' family, especially his brother. The ending left me a bit off-kilter. It wasn't what I expected to happen, or necessarily wanted, but it worked well with the story.

Charolette is a princess who is second to the throne and her twin sister is the queen. Charlotte has been in a gilded cage. Charolette is quiet and shy and usually a wallflower. But Charlotte desires some freedom away from the spotlight. Charlotte has always followed the rules, loyal to her family and duty as a royal. But Charlotte doesn’t want to rule, she hates being on display, and she gets serious anxiety when she thinks of ever being Queen. Brooks is a hot man who values the truth and honesty. He is a journalist who has created a successful media company that has made him a household name. Charlotte has a crush on Brooks even though he had brought out a scandal about her family : the Royals. Brooks is the type to never give up and Brooks has been interested in Charlotte before he had ever met her Charlotte sees Brooks at a charity event and he invites that they leave together. Even though her brother disapproves Charlotte leaves with Brooks. Charlotte suggests to Brooks they have an affair and Brooks agrees. Both Charlotte and Brooks have secrets.
I had mixed feelings about this book. I felt this had too many contradictions concerning the plot. But I did feel the writing itself was good. The were hot sex scenes. I especially liked the idea of a forbidden love of a journalist and a royal whose family has secrets. I advise you to read the first book of the series before this one as it helps things to come together. I felt this was a little predictable. I did love how Brooks let Charlotte be herself. I wonder when this was written as Royals have stepped away from the throne and the royal life and duty before for love. As I said I had mixed feelings on this book.

I loved !! Royal Affair !! and I cant wait to see what Marquita Valentine will write next !!

This book tells the story of Charlotte Sinclair, Princess of the Isle of Man, and Brooks Walker, expose journalist extraordinaire. Charlotte can't help her attraction to Brooks even though he is the one that outed their family for being royalty in hiding. As Charlotte is not the Queen-to-be though, she has a little more freedom to make her own decisions and she decides to start an affair with Brooks. And as they spend more time together and get to know each other better, they realize how well they fit together. But when Brooks is presented with a story about Charlotte that could explode his career, can he really but his whole life on the line for love? 

Overall I really liked this book. This book was Definitely WAY more steamy than the first book in the series, Charlotte and Brooks' chemistry leaps off the page. At the same time I really liked the plot better in this book too, there was more development of the characters I thought and the intrigue and plot twists flowed a little better than in the first book. I also like how the author is continuing to develop the overall series, I'm interested to see where we go in the next book. My only confusion really with this book was why we had to jump like 5 years into the future, it felt like no time had passed at certain points and at other points it was obvious 5 years had passed. The whole idea just felt a little off and left a few holes in the story. Like has Imogen been ruling as Queen this whole time? Why was Davies just making his move now, 5 years after he was fired? There were some points of the plot that I thought could've been explained better or developed further but at the same time this one was a quick, easy, light read and adding more in would've made it longer. Either way I liked this one and I'm interested to see where the series goes next!

This is the second book in the Royals in Exile series and it's just as fun as the first. More secrets are revealed in Royal Affair and their story of corruption and coverups go even deeper. Truths are not truths. Enemies reappear along with blackmail and threats.

Overall Royal Affair was fun and engaging, sweet and sinful. And a reminder that family can be both reliable and a Royal pain. I enjoyed how in both books Marquita Valentine gives a little bit of a teaser for the next book in the series. It's done very well - not a cliffhanger (which I hate) a glimpse into the next couple. I look forward to reading more of this series.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series! The Sinclair siblings are full of life and I’m excited to follow them until everyone has their happily ever after ... but will they? There is plenty of intrigue with the secrets and mysteries that surround this royal family. They support and love each other, which is sweet and funny.

Royal Affair is the story of Princess Charlotte Sinclair, “the spare.” The line of succession is by queen in the world of the Sinclairs. Being the younger of the twin girls, Charlotte is groomed to take her place as queen should anything happen to her sister Imogen and she falls into a real 'Cinderella' type role always at her sister's beck and call, always playing the dutiful princess, never breaking the rules or letting loose. That is until Brookew Walker enters the scene and exposes Charlotte's wallflower existence.

A great read and I cant wait for the next in the series!

Another Royal in Exile love story. It is really nice when you get to see some of your favorite characters from the previous book again, especially when they give you a nice time jump. Charlotte was an awesome character and I loved how her personality just shines through. It makes it especially fun when it messed up with Brook's attempts to change things in her life. She changes the man and shows that he can grow. Great job can't wait for the next one.

I love a book with a royal twist! This was a fun read! I can't wait to read the other book and continue to see what happens with this family.

I loved they were all so different yet wanted to be their own person.

The sequel to Royal Scandal, and a real joy to read.  This one has the wallflower girl who shows up to have spine, the scoundrel who found his noble inside, and the family who gathers to support their wallflower sister.  It was a real treat to read this one, it was lively, had more royal intrigues, and more challenges on the characters, as both had to grow up to live up to the other. And there's a twister at the end, although the author teases the reader with hints throughout the book. I re-read Royal Scandal and found the hints there too!

Princess Charlotte Sinclair is reclusive and shy, she gets anxious at public functions. So she's kept sheltered by her brothers and sisters. Against Colin's wishes, she keeps social media accounts under a pseudonym, follows Walker Brooks very closely through his social media accounts, and keeps a personal blog. There was a charity ball where the royals were the hosts and Brooks crashed the party. He sought Charlotte out and he got the shock of his life when she asked him to have an exclusive affair with her. In exchange he could publish information about her and her family, just no intimate details. They agree and he's delighted at the opportunity, except he fell for her prim ways, felt sorry for her solitary life and decided to bring the princess out of the cocoon.

Meanwhile, the evil ex-Prime Minister is harboring plans to upthrow the new monarchy and attempts to blackmail Walker.  Walker is promised a Peabody award, versus the ruin of his company.  Hard decision indeed. For a while, I had no idea which side Walker would take.

This book has the sweetest romance with the sweetest heroine, and Walker proved to be a true hero, self-sacrificing for the benefit of his beloved, helpful to the family, and honorable at the crucial moment. He used to be a grouch and a jerk, but Charlotte humanized him and brought closeness again to Walker's parents and twin brother. There were funny moments, like when Colin held a pink water gun to Walker's temple to make him step away from this sister, and poignant moments when Charlotte said: “I’m not complaining exactly, but I wasn’t given a choice to have this life and there are times that I find it unbearably miserable and lonesome.” Their dialogues were tender and loving and they always have humor and snarky responses. Really, Walker had no defenses against this sweet, prim, polite princess. She was frequently called to attend to Imogen because she's the spare princess, to be queen should something happen. When these trips happened, we get a feeling that Imogen is covering something. Later we find out what and why. Truly, this story was a joy to read.
