This book is the fairy tale for all the wallflowers out there that wish to get the hot guy! I can't be happier that I got to read "Royal Affair". I loved it! I had heard of the book "Royal Scandal" and it was on my to-be-read list, but I hadn't read it yet. In a way I'm glad, because I read that first (due to my OCD of reading books in order) and immediately had to read "Royal Affair". Only now I have to wait until later this year to read the next book to be released in the series!
Royal Affair has romance, deceptive intentions, heartache and a HEA.
Brooks Walker, the man that outed the Sinclair children from living secretly in the outskirts of Charlotte, NC from their exile of their island country, Isle of Man. Only to find out the reason is from a blog that Charlotte Sinclair had written under a psuedoname. From previous knowledge of being a hacker, he found out Charlotte real identity and researched from there. It was her blog entry that interested him and he then followed her other social media accounts to keep up with the wallflower that fascinated him. Unknown to him, that Charlotte was doing the same with his accounts. Although he had outed her family into the spotlight, for Charlotte, it was a physical attraction that lead to finding out about Brooks.
I loved the somewhat cat and mouse chase between Brooks and Charlotte. Even though everybody would have thought he would have gone for the queen, Imogen. Their are both alike in personality, but Brooks brings out the confident side in Charlotte. And Brooks is taken aback when Charlotte propositions his for an affair. Thinking that he can find out more information about the Sinclair family, he agrees. She's smart, sophisticated, beautiful and can match wits (when not flustered) to keep the interest of a playboy.
I love the steady pace of the both books that kept me reading nonstop. A definite must read that will keep you wanting to continue to find out what happens for the next Sinclair sibling!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Loveswept for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was lucky to read both books in this series so far. I love Cinderella stories. I especially love the Sinclair siblings.

I found this book to be pretty witty, especially between the two main characters. They had a great chemistry and flow between them that had me chuckling in places. I love that Charlotte was looking for the villain in her story and she found that with Brooks, but as the story progressed it was hard to tell whether he was the villain or the hero in the story. If you are wondering about the heat index in this book… yep it has it. Not over the top which I hate but just the right amount of sweet and sexy.

I loved the secondary characters in this book and look forward to reading more on them. I am really hoping that Theo is the next book. I loved that Brooks family took to Charlotte and showed her what a family is like outside of Royals. That she didn’t have to be stuck in her castle anymore. And give her a sense of a normal life.

Why not a 5? It really came down to Charlotte and Imogene. I think at time they can act pretty immature and there was something about them that could throw me off. Saying that, I would definitely do a re-read and would buy the other books in that series.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to the end. This is a very cute fairy tail story with lots of romance and also close family connections. The book is a good mix of love, romance, lust, and sex between the two main characters along with love for family and country. I enjoyed how much Charlotte(Princess) and Brooks were willing to give up in order to be with each other once they admitted they were in love and could begin to trust each other. I will be reading more of the books in this series. I would be glad to recommend this book to friends.

This is the second book in this series and it is just as fun as the first one. Charlotte has always been the shy and quiet sister who dreamed of something different but hid herself away. Brooks walker wanted to make a name for himself completely outside of his family legacy. He isn't looking for love or family just the next story that will win him the award that proves to all he has finally made it. What they both get is exactly what they need even though it's not exactly what they thought to begin with.
I enjoyed the way you see not only the main characters but how they interact with their families and you get a little more of a view into the other Sinclair siblings a well.

A fun read perfect for a day at the beach.

Ever wonder what happens to the villain of a story?? Do they ever get a HEA??

Well Royal Affair will answers those questions for you. I loved that this was a slightly different type story in that the Hero of the story was also the villain. Although I have to be honest...never thought of Brooks as the villain. I fell in love with him from the very beginning. I truly thought he was the perfect match for Charlotte.

There is something about this series by Marquita Valentine that I absolutely love!! These books are fun, entertaining, sexy and captivating. I have loved all the characters and storylines. I love that she creates a story that takes her readers to a different place and makes you feel a part of the story. I also love that there isn't an over abundance of drama in these stories. It's all about the characters and what they bring to the story that keeps you turning the pages. The length of each story is perfect. The flow and pace of this story worked well for these characters and their story.

Royal Affair is the second standalone novel in this series. It's told in Dual POV. Even though this is a standalone I would recommend reading this series in order because the storyline kind of carries over into this story. Yes this story is a whole new storyline for Charlotte and Brooks, but there are characters that carry over and things you learn about Charlotte and her family in Book 1 that carry into this book. I don't think anyone would be lost if this book is read first but this will spoil things for Book 1 if read first.

We met Charlotte and Brooks in Book 1 but we really get to know them in this book. This is their story :). Charlotte is a twin and the second in line to be queen after her twin Imogen. Charlotte is the wall flower of the two girls and has no ambition to ever be queen. She suffers from severe anxiety and doesn't like the spot light. Brooks is a journalist who exposed Charlotte's family history, so to say he isn't liked by the Sinclairs is putting it mildly. He is drawn to Charlotte but also wants to get close to get her deepest secrets. He is all about getting a head of the competition and making a name for himself. Charlotte just wants to experience some freedom so she suggests an affair with a person she shouldn't be with. What happens then is the journey these two take to becoming better people and getting everything they want.

Can Brooks really change who is for Charlotte?? What happens when information lands in his lap...can he overlook it for love?? Will these two get their HEA?? Read this fun, sexy and entertaining read to find out.

I would totally recommend this book/series to anyone who loves an enemies to lovers story with a Royal twist.

This was a sweet fairytale like story that I loved from start to finish. I enjoyed that the story in this book picked up a little after the previous book in this series with the characters from the previous book making cameo appearances. I enjoyed the characters Charlotte and Brooks as they grew as characters through out this book. I enjoyed watching Charlotte gain her confidence and Brooks realize that there is more to life than work. The couple also had amazing chemistry together and I also enjoyed how Charlotte made Brooks work for the HEA at the end. The plot moved along well and did not drag at all while keeping me interested as to what would happen next in the story. I enjoyed this story from start to finish and would recommend it to others.

Brooks and Charlotte finally meet after stalking each other for a long time on social media. Brooks is enamored with Charlotte and they reach an agreement. She wants an affair and in return will give him some of her secrets. For a social blogger who was thrust into the spotlight when he let the whole world know who the Sinclair's really were, this is like gold to Walker. He finds himself not using this information to his advantage however. He finds Charlotte more and more endearing and, although he claims that his heart is secure, he really does bend quite a bit. Charlotte was quite silly and is keeping some seriously shocking secrets. Why she would agree to this arrangement really baffled me. Both find themselves drawn to the other. As usual, outside forces try to keep them apart on both sides. Walker receives an unusual offer and has to decide which path to take - either keep Charlotte in his life or expose some serious revelations about the Sinclair family. You will have to read the book to find out what happens. I did like how Charlotte put herself out there repeatedly for Brooks. He wasn't always the most forthright but he had his reasons. Both Charlotte and Brooks will have to give up a lot to stay together. It was a good addition to this series and I really enjoyed it. I was grateful to receive an ARC from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I loved this book. It is even better than the first book in the series. This book is about Charlotte, the quiet, introverted twin that doesn't want to be locked up in the royal tower. She has been obsessed with Brooks Walker, the owner of Walker Media and who outed the royal family being in the US. Brooks crashes a ball and convinces Charlotte to leave with him. The adventure begins!

I love how Charlotte trusted Brooks and thought the best of him even though her whole family did not like him. It was wonderful to see Charlotte come out of her shell and be assertive. Brooks seemed like a jerk at first, but being with Charlotte showed us a more tender side of him. I was glad to see that he and his twin were supporting each other again. I loved Brooks family, especially his mother. I couldn't stand Davies who used work for the royal family. This was a great book and I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. Loved

I received this book Via Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I couldnt wait for Charollette's story, and it was worth the wait. Marquita always provides a phenomenal story that will make you fall in love with the characters. Your heart will break when the last pagescome, not because of the ending, but because your lost without them.

Brooks is the bad boy you want but know you shouldn't. Charlotte is the sweet, kind, loveable woman that he's not good enough for. but fate is a funny thing..

Royal Affair sucked me right in from the beginning - I couldn't put it down!

Before I go on about Royal Affair, I didn't read the first book in the series and I really wished I would have. I enjoyed Royal Affair a lot, but Brooks and Charlotte know each other from something that happened in the first book and I wished I knew how all that went down. There is a little bit of info in Royal Affair (enough so that you aren't wondering why things happened so quick between them) but if you want to know the whole story start there (that's what I'll be doing after I write this review).

Charlotte is a princess and therefore not at all in charge of her own life. She has security and an overbearing twin sister (who will someday be queen) and her brothers who all think they know what's best for her. Charlotte just wants a little bit of normalcy.

Brooks is swoony and adorable and a little bit aggressive business wise, which is how him and Charlotte have some history. I loved how he struggled with how he was feeling for Charlotte and his job as a reporter. He had some crappy things happen to him near the end of the book that pissed me off, but all's well that ends well.

Brooks and Charlotte were a good pair, even when they were trying to pretend they weren't falling in love with each other.

If you love books about royals I definitely recommend Royal Affair, but maybe read Royal Scandal first.

the sinclair siblings have lived in exile and hidden away from public scrutiny most of their lives, but all that changed when brooks walker published the truth about their identities. suddenly their private lives have become public curiosities. and following the rules of their small island with diplomatic ties to the united kingdom becomes more pressing. as the second in line for the throne, charlotte sinclair has always been good at following the rules. her duty to her twin sister, imogen, the future queen of their country, has always been clear to her. but sometimes she wishes she had something that was just hers.

her obsession with brooks walker is maybe just one of those things. and when he approaches her at a charity event and goads her into leaving with him she can't help but feel a thrill. even though she knows it is a dangerous thing to trust brooks, even after they've shaken hands on having an affair, a royal affair. with rules about what is on and off the record. and how they are not going to get attached. as far as charlotte is concerned, brooks is the villian of the story. he's the one who has attacked her family and pushed them into a public scrutiny that they were not ready for. and there are secrets he hasn't uncovered, secrets that only she and imogen know.

and brooks has a million reasons to keep digging. but the reasons he wants to know charlotte and uncover her secrets has nothing to do with his online reporting and everything to do with how he feels about charlotte. he likes her. he likes everything about her. she's intrigued him from the start, and while he's always been keen on exposing the truth, he isn't interested in hurting the people he loves unduly. being with charlotte brings him back into his family fold, reconnects him with his own twin brother and his parents.

but also, the way he feels when he is around her is something he's never felt before. being with her, loving her, making love with her, it's better than anything he ever imagined. so when the truth lands in his lap and he has to make a choice between revealing the truth about charlotte or revealing the truth about his feelings, there is only one choice he can make.

in royal scandal there was so much happening between colin and della that we didn't get to see as much of the sibling relationships. also i think that since colin was their de facto parent and guardian we weren't privy to the sibling relationships between theo and imogen and charlotte, but we do get that here. we also get to see brooks relationships with his brothers. and the fact that we do get to spend more time with their families, adds a depth to both charlotte and brooks and lets us know their real character in a way that never happened for colin and della. even though things with charlotte and brooks begins almost on a lark, their relationship is more emotionally satisfying and sweeter.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Loveswept to an ARC of "Royal Affair" by Marquita Valentine for my honest review. The genres for this novel are Women's Contemporary Fiction and Romance.
Princess Charlotte is described as a lonely, shy and laid back Royal. Although she has been warned of the consequences, Charlotte has been on social media using a different name. Charlotte panics in social situations, not especially helpful for a princess.
Brooks Water is a journalist that specializes in getting information on the political elite. Brooks has already exposed Charlottes" family who were in hiding, and caused a dangerous situation.
Both Charlotte and Brooks have a twin. Charlotte's sister will be the Queen, and Brooks' brother is an attorney.
Brooks and Charlotte find themselves at the same ball, and both are verbally sparring with each other. There do seem to be some sparks.
Is Brooks trying to get information out of Charlotte, and what does Charlotte want with Brooks?
The author describes the characters as quirky and moody. I found that this book to be an easy and sexy read.

Book Review – Royal Affair (4 Stars)
Book two of the Royals and Exile tells the story of Brooks and Princess Charlotte Sinclair. Once again the Royal Sinclairs are breaking all the Royal Rules and sucking me in every step of the way.
Brooks Walker is breaking a few rules of his own. As the middle son of the Political Walker Clan (we met his brother Hayden in book four of the Take the Fall Series), he has no desire to follow in the footsteps of his father or younger brother in to the world of politics. No, Brooks’ passion is news and trying to break a story that can really put him on the map and gain respect in the world or journalism. He’s on a mission to prove that he’s not just another gossip rag. Brooks’ big break came when he broke the story of the Royal Sinclair Family hiding in plain sight right in his home state of North Carolina. Needless to say the Sinclair family is more than just a little leery of him; all except Charlotte that is. The quite twin, second in line for the throne seems to have a bit of an obsession with him that rivals his own obsession of her. It takes no time for Brooks to realize that Charlotte is much more than just the story that could make is career.
Wallflower Charlotte hasn’t led a very adventurous life, being royalty tends to kill the buzz of adventure but a girl can dream. So when Charlotte decides she’s going to do something about her obsession with the Brooks Walker she gives “taking the walk on the wild side” a whole new meaning. The last person Charlotte should trust with her feelings, heart and secrets is Brooks Walker but that’s just what she does. Brooks turns out to be completely different from what every thinks him to be and Charlotte has a hard time keeping the family secrets to herself whenever she’s around him; Brooks has already “outted” them to the world once can, she trust that she means more to him that his desire to open the door to the world he’s always wanted access to?
When I first started this book I was a little skeptical. Here’s this princess that propositions this reporter to be her “affair”, in no time she shredding her clothes for him and divulging family secrets. I thought it was moving a little fast but out of nowhere this storyline emerged and I was just completely sucked in. I don’t know if I was just having one of those days but there was just something about this book that had me all in my feelings (or as my little cousin would say, had me very “commontional”). There were so many similarities between these two and not that each just happened to be a twin. They both seemed to prove to their families that they were their own person, to the world that they were more than just their last names and two each other that they were more than they gave themselves credit for. They each seem to have this desire to be free. I loved these two and I think they were perfect for each other! As usual with Marquita’s books the supporting characters were just as interesting as the main characters and I’m now even more excited for their storylines. In the tradition of other authors such as Kristen Proby, Marquita’s series always link up to each other which leads me to wondering if it’s possible for us fans to get a flow chart/family tree like type of document. While I remember most of the characters, I start to get them a little confused.
Very good read and up next is Theo’s story….CAN’T WAIT!!

I have read the first book in this series and this was such a typical chick lit I just decided to give it a chance. The first one in the series had a more appealing type of storyline to me with the arranged marriage-ish type of vibe. This however was completely different.

Princess Charlotte is the "spare" twin where her sister, being slightly older is queen. She longs to be free from the burdens of being royal and from the face of constant loneliness. Where her sister is wild Charlotte is demur. Enter Brooks, the very same man who helped reveal her families secret in the last people. He is the typical sleazy "gossip" reporter who just wants the scoop. Of course he is hott and Charlotte wants him despite any of his ulterior motives. They both have an idea and suspicion about each other and want to use each other despite that.

I felt Charlotte was a bit to proper for my taste, I like my heroines with a bit more crazy/spunk/quirkiness. And while Brooks was hott, it was too much of a cliche. It seemed like a twist on princess diaries or a hallmark movie. However, the royal family dynamic was very charming and kind of the saving grace for me.

Recommendation: If you read the blurb and like cliches, this is the book for you. Charming but a bit lackluster. Nothing too fancy about the writing either, just a clear and simple story.

It is a smart switch to have the Princess who is seen as shy and quite be the one who has a fierce crush of the one person she should stay miles away from... the journalist who outs all of the royal secrets.

These two characters break all the rules by have an affair that turns into so much more... And the question is what will either of them do... risk family and obligations for love...or turn their back on what they started never to experience it again.

Charlotte Sinclair is the quiet twin. The spare twin. The twin in line for the crown should her sister, the queen, decide to abdicate her throne. But there is more to Char than meets the eye. She is smart, loyal, caring, kind, trusting and beautiful. She is also lonely. So, when rogue and really bad for her media shark Brooks Walker sets his sights on her, Char gives into temptation and starts a very hot, very dangerous, royal affair. Brook is not a relationship kind of guy, yet with the princess, he agrees to have a monogamous relationship while it lasts. A relationship which should gain him access to information that will further his career. But soon, exposing Charlotte or her family is the last thing on his mind. Protecting her is all he wants. Threatened to lose everything, Brooks must decide what his priorities are: love and family or fame and fortune? Charlotte has secrets she will take to the grave. Her siblings are everything to her and to protect them she will give anything up. Even love. But what if love isn't ready to give up on the most romantic of all Sinclairs? I love Marquita Valentine's Royal Series. I was absolutely hooked with Colin's story, but Charlotte's drove the romantic in me home. The characters are so lovable, even the villains are awesome. The story line is intriguing and unexpected. The siblings take turns surprising readers and the new characters transform the story bringing new spins and expectations. Brooks is beyond hot and I can't wait to read about Theo and his assistant, or the queen and her bodyguard…

Ms. Valentine has done it again. A Royal Affair follows Charlotte on her path to her Flynn Rider (from Tangled/Rapunzel). But "Flynn" is the journalist that had uncovered and exposed their family, how can she trust her won't publish more?

Royal Affair was a fast paced happily ever after story that was not only fun to read, but to picture it as a movie played in my mind as I read. I love Brooks and Charlotte. I love that they are both twins.

Spare heir, Charlotte Sinclair, knows villainous Brooks is bad for her, but she agrees to an affair to help get her out of her 'tower' and wallflower ways. Brooks is known for exposing the elites' secrets -including the Sinclairs family- through his media company. in this modern day twist on Rapunzel, Marquita Valentine, garners your attention in this sexy romance between these lovers that cannot stop their addiction for each other. This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed this royal romance, but I do feel that it would have been better if I read the first book in the Royals in Exile series. I received this ARC through Netgalley.
