Stunningly adapted to a manga style - a true combination of two of my great loves. Such beautiful artwork.

Amazing Read

This was an incredible read. I have had this on my Netgalley shelf and finally read it. This is the first volume of Disney Beauty and the Beast Manga. Belle is one of my favourite Disney princesses because she is smart and loves books. In this volume, the story is told from Belle's perspective and to see the story in a manga adaptation was beautiful. I loved how her POV and feelings were portrayed in the manga and I loved seeing the Ballroom scene. I loved the artwork, and it was a great addition to the Disney collection. Overall, an amazing read.

Belle's Tale is the first in the two part manga retelling of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, originally released to coincide with the live action adaptation that came out several years ago.

Mallory Reaves adapted it well, coloring Belle's Tale to match the shounen manga style to signal the romance of the story itself. The colors are bright and evocative, soft around the edges at times. Beauty and the Beast adapts well to the style, romance tropes abounding without distracting from the original story at all.

I thought this was a nice, quick read. It would be a good intro reading manga for those unfamiliar with it, and a fun nostalgic romp for those who are familiar with it and fans of the Disney films.

I'm a biased opinion as I love Beauty and the Beast and did enjoy the new movie, but this is a solid adaptation. The art is not amazing, but I have incredibly high standards, so, at the very least I can say artist knows what they are doing.

It is a little forgettable, as I finished reading it and promptly forgot most of it or what made it different, but it has some smaller scenes beyond the movie, and I approve of that. I also approve that they split the book into two which allowed for the story to breathe a little.

With the release of the live action Beauty and the Beast came the manga retelling! In “Belle’s Tale” we follow her as the classic stories go in the movies. That saying, there isn’t anything new added to the story. The manga style was a cute and fun way to enjoy a Disney classic!

Such a gorgeously done version of a story I absolutely love and have since I was young. If you are a Beauty and the Beast fan, then I highly recommend!!

I love Beauty and the Beast so much so it was wonderful to see it in book form and illustrated in such a lovely way! I really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to the second volume.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite fairytales, so what's not to love about this?? Belle, a girl who loves books and the Beast, a gentle being looking for love. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed both volumes of this graphic novel. Yes it is based mostly on the live action movie, but I still enjoyed it (big Beauty and the Beast fan here). The artwork was excellent and I really enjoyed the story.

If you are a fan of the Beauty and the Beast story, you will love this graphic novel. It is written in Belle's point of view, so you will get all her insights. I usually don't read graphic novels or manga so it took me a while to get used to the format. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book.

This book tells the story of 'Beauty and the Beas' from Belle's point of view.
The art's beautiful and clean.
The story itself is "Beauty and the Beast" so you probably already know how it goes. It has some twists in comparison to the original animated movie, given that it's based on the live action version.
I absolutely loved the characters and their development, it was as though my childhood was back.
I really liked this book.

These were very interesting takes on the BATB story line. The art was well done. I am a huge fan of anything BATB so this was right up my alley.

I absolutely LOVE Beauty and the Beast, and having a graphic novel made for it is perfect to tell an enchanting 'tale as old as time' story.

A fantastic read. Love this timeless story. 5*.

This really captures the look and feel of the film, in exquisite manga style. We get to learn a bit more of Belle's thoughts and feelings, which makes it a perfect accompaniment to the film.

There is nothing better than Manga and Disney, together in one book.
