Nice adaptation, from Belle's perspective. Would be a good introduction to this classic for anyone who somehow missed the movies or is already a fan.
Wonderful illustrations, telling the Beauty and the Beast story from Belle's point of view. Shame the illustrations aren't in colour but a great book for fans of the Disney version of the story.
This is a beautiful rendition of the film from Belle's pov, I love all the little added details.
Disney Beauty and the Beast Volume 1: Belle's Tale was an excellent adaptation of the new Beauty and the Beast film!
The art in this book was amazing and I very much enjoyed it. I feel like the illustrator did an amazing job adapting the film for a manga-style book while still keeping the feel of the original source material. I actually think Beast looks better as a manga-style character than he did in the film!
This volume covers the entirety of the film, however it shows only the scenes that Belle was directly involved in. I think it was an interesting choice to make two volumes, one from each Beast and Belle's points of view. By giving each of the main characters their own volume, it allows you to know more of what the character is thinking in any given scene.
Overall, Belle's Tale was very enjoyable and was a very close adaptation to the film. I'm glad I have volume 2 to pick up right away as the book does feel a bit incomplete without the Beast's scenes. I highly recommend this for Beauty and the Beast fans and it could be a nice introduction to manga for those unsure if they would enjoy the format.
This was a faithful retelling of Disney's Beauty and the Beast! It was fun and easy to read. I recommend this to children six years and up.
It's so unpleasant to read manga books with such a huge tag on them. The work is good, but honestly I didn't even finish it. When you decide to share books on NetGalley, you should trust the people here. Every book has a warning in the beginning, but not on every page. Especially in this case, where the graphics are so important, I think our first experience shouldn't be like this.
