I don’t know about the Ice Man, but I sure melted *gulps* Anyone else feeling the heat? *looks around* No? Sorry, must just be me then *winks*
As a PNR-loving reader, I’m always on the lookout for a new take on vampire mythology. My only grumble with this story was that it was over much too quickly for my liking, but as you know, I’m greedy like that *shrugs* I literally devoured this story, and felt a little bereft at the end. I didn’t want to leave this new world I had discovered. Well, who would? Smoking-hot guys, kinky *whistles*… need I go on?
All it takes is one look across the bar for Rowan’s life to be turned upside down. And, let me tell you, that is saying something coming from this bartender who works in a fetish club, and also just happens to be a blood slave to a very powerful vampire *snorts*
Rowan knows his attraction to Brett is a complication he could do without. Especially, considering his pesky addiction to Theron’s blood kiss, but he’s finally found something and someone he wants for his own.
Brett was just looking for some fun – of the adult kind. Only, it looks like he might have finally found the one thing that has eluded him in his life so far; the love of a good man.
The connection between Rowan and Brett was palpable. These two together are sizzling, a.k.a. fried brain cells *smirks* I had everything crossed, that when push came to shove, they would make the right decisions.
I freely admit that Theron fascinates me – I need to know more about what makes this vampire tick. It looks like I have a new obsession…

I was unable to totally connect with this storyline. Felt like the characters were just too unbelievable "not talking about vampires" I mean their actions towards each other. I did not finish the book.
Ice Man starts off the series Blood Slaves by author Kyann Waters. This book was previously published and I cannot see any significant changes to the original work.
This book really sets us up into the world of blood slaves and vampires. There is quite a bit of information that will carry on in other books. I liked that though there is a ton of information, the story itself did not suffer for it. Nice arc to the story and solid writing. Always a plus when I am reading a book.
The love story itself is rather complicated in this story.
Rowan owes his vampire Theron a lot. Without him he would have been dead. He is a very willing blood slave. But what happens when a blood slave falls for someone who isn't the vampire they are feeding? Theron has strong feelings for Rowan. But Rowan his heart is taken by Brett.
Brett is a anything goes type of guy. Rowan is the bartender at the catacombs. Brett wants him but Rowan isn't sure he can handle just what really goes on in the basement.
These two walk a fine line for most of the book. It is fun to see the entire love story unfold and learn about some exceptionally gifted vampires.
When you want a paranormal with a ton of twists and turns in it this is the story to pick up.
Five Shooting Stars
Ice Man left me exhausted the next day because I couldn't go to sleep until I finished the book. Lol. Wonderful story.
Great start to a new series. The story is fast paced and very steam. Rowan is a blood slave and hooked. What happens when he meets Brett, a human, their chemistry is off the charts steamy but will it be enough for Rowan? Entertaining, steamy read. I really liked it and am looking forward to more.
In a vampire world, insta-love is allowed. That's what happened to Brett and the blood slave, Rowan.
Years of being Theron's blood and sex slave didn't make him stay. One look, one night, and he falls for Brett.
Of course Theron was upset and angry and did everything to make his favorite slave stay.
I don't know, I'm kinda feel sorry for Theron here. Because, he cannot say no to Rowan? Or being too weak as a leader?
He let Rowan 'do' Brett one night, but Rowan wanted more.
How a ungrateful slave he was.LOL.I didn't really enjoyed the sex, but I liked Theron and Rowan's relationship more than Brett and Rowan.
Overall, this is an okay read for me, but if you're into the dark side of vampire world, erotic story full of sex and sweat and blood, you'll probably like this one. And of course there's a HEA.

The story was too short and the insta love didn't feel real. To meet someone and almost immediately walk away from the person you were with for sevens years just did sit right with me. I think that whole exchange could have been done better. I laughed when Brett called for maintenance to come install the swing that was funny. I had issues with barebacking without any discussion between Rowan and Brett. You've known each other less than 24 hours and Rowan you decide to throw away your humanity after saying no for 7 years. That was dumb. But I can see the start of a lasting relationship here. I feel sorry for Tac.
2 1/2 star review.......
I’m a huge fan of Vampire stories, but my first read by KyAnn Waters is average at best; and while the passion between the main couple is definitely explosive, the story as a whole felt lacking.
Maybe the length prevented the author from going more into depth about the characters and their decision making process; food for thought in future books. That said, I will give this series another go and see if the next instalment has more to offer.
I was looking forward to this one, because vampires!! Gay sex!! They're two of my favourite things, there's no way this could go wrong!!
Incorrect.
The focus in the book was on Rowan, human blood-slave to a vampire, and a guy he falls in love with called Brett. Except, he can't be with Brett because of his possessive vampire master. This did not float my boat for many reasons, one of the main ones being that I was expecting a book /about/ vampires. This was more like your average m/m contemporary drama romance with vampires thrown in as an afterthought. it's not really a /vampire book./ I feel like the vampire aspect was just there to spice it up a little (dare I say... vamp it up a little?), but sadly, there was not enough vampire action to salvage the thin characters, thin plot, thin everything.
Alright, so it's an erotica. Maybe I shouldn't be expecting a lot. but still, erotica or no, flat narrative and flat characters are unforgivable in any genre. Sorry. I would probably have liked this a lot more if the focus was on the actual vampires, and if the writing was better. (I swear, the same words were repeated over and over again!!)
