Heather was part of a surgical team .she went home “ good tired” every day. She also knew her patients personally as she knew everyone in town. Today was harder as the mother of her best friend Lacy’s mother was in for cancer surgery. Lacy’s fiance Jake called in a favor from his marine buddies to find Lacy’s brother Michael. Even though Lacy figured Michael had shown very little interest in the family in the past few years. Lacy figured Michael had a right to know what was going on. Michael had shamed his family many timed. Heather didn’t have a great relationship with her parents as her parents were more aloof. It had been almost ten years since Michael had seen his family. Heather was all for second chances. Michael had been attracted to heather when they were younger and the attraction was still there as he found out when he seen her again. Heather and Michael decide to see where the attraction could go.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was a relaxing easy read. I didn’t want to put this down as it kept my attention from the beginning to the end. I do advise you to read the other book of this series first so everything comes together. This did drag a little for me at times. I thought this was well written, i liked there was some mystery in this. I liked the plot. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.
Michael and Heather have known each other for years- but not really KNOWN each other. This charming small town second chance romance set in Oklahoma is all about getting back to your roots to find love. I didn't read the first book in this series but that didn't matter; I thought it was a perfect standalone. This is the sort of book you pick up when you just want a no-stress, good read (and recipes a a bonus!) Thanks to netgalley for the ARC.
Such a great book! This is a new to me author but I will definitely be reading more of her work. Her writing style is fluid and clear with a great storyline and very well developed characters. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book. This is the second book in the series but it was easily read standalone.
Mike Evans never thought he would step foot in Coldwater, OK ever again. Not after his father told him to leave and never come back. He can't stay away though when he learns his mother is battling breast cancer. It seems some things never change. First, the little town and it's residents are as quirky as ever. Second, his attraction to Heather Walker has never diminished. Going after a second chance with her just seems like the natural thing to do.
What a great book. The book is well written with a good plot with lots of family dynamics. I loved the small town setting. I enjoyed this author's style of writing.
A Coldwater Warm Hearts Wedding by Lexi Eddings is the 2nd book in her Coldwater series. Heather Walker, our heroine, is Lacy Evans’s (previous book heroine) best friend. Heather, who is a nurse, is helping take care of Lacy’s mother who has just had an operation for breast cancer. Michael Evans, our hero, is Lacey’s brother, who left home 10 years ago after fallout with his father, but finally returns home to see his mother.
Lacy’s convinces Michael to stay awhile and be Jake’s best man at the wedding. Heather remembers Michael as the boy who called her “Stilts”, and he was always one of the bad boys in town. Now that Michael is grown up, the attraction between them also heats up. Michael has built himself a successful business, which no one really knows about. Michael decides to move some of his crew to Coldwater Cover temporarily, so that he can watch over his mother’s recovery; attend the wedding as best man and explore the feelings he begins to have for Heather. To Heather’s surprise, she too is falling in love with Michael, and she knows he will not be there long.
There is also a mystery revolving Heather’s deceased sister, who died 10 years before. Because of that, Heather avoids her family as much as she can, thinking they wished it was her who died in the accident. But there will be some surprises that will not only change things, but threaten the growing relationship between Michael and Heather. This will also open the door for Michael and his father to mend, as the truth is revealed.
I liked Michael and Heather together, as well as many of the secondary characters. This was a sweet romance, with a bit of mystery that will have us worried if our couple will not be able to stay together. The ending also had a surprise twist. The Coldwater Warm Hearts Wedding was another nice sweet romance by Lexi Eddings, with a small town background and a great couple. I suggest you start with the first book in this series.
A Coldwater Warm Hearts Wedding by Lexi Eddings is perfect book to read on a rainy day or when you are feeling a little blue. I really enjoyed reading this book and felt it left me with an overall warm heart because even though this book has its ups and downs it leaves you with a feeling of hope. Eddings does a superb job writing a story that you can see yourself there in the middle of all the twists and turns this story takes. The plot line and setting is one that a lot of people have been through or you know someone who has been though. I can close my eyes and see exactly what Eddings seen when she wrote this book. I think this is a must read if you are looking for a great romance novel.
You don't need to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one. My first book by Lexi Eddings and I totally enjoyed it. I really like small town stories. The characters in this were great and had depth and a history. There was a lot going on in each storyline with the different characters, not just the main two. I also liked that there was a little bit of romance as well as some mystery along the way. I was also surprised at how the mystery unfolded but it was well done..........I also liked the last little twist to the story at Lacy's wedding.
