I do not publicly post negative reviews so I will not be sharing this.
Terribly disappointing. Not a fan of multiple narratives and the asides from the editor and the mother were annoying.
Dropping tidbits from previous cases and saying read for more info did not entice me, it was just annoying and did nothing for the story.
I would not recommend this book.
This is the first book I've read by Barbara Allan. This is not the first book in the Trash 'n Treasures Mystery series and does make references to things from earlier books but doesn't give away any prior things. Although the main characters are a mother and daughter team, there is a third party, Sushi the shih tzu. Vivian and Brandy Borne are wrapping the season of their television show hoping for the show's rating are good enough to provide the renewal of their contract. Brandy's boyfriend, Police Chief Tony's estranged wife, Camilla, comes into the picture as the antagonist and things really get interesting . Having the book told through first party narration, I found it entertaining especially Vivian's remarks. You can be guaranteed a enjoyable time filled with not just a mystery but also humor.
