Nothing is going to go wrong. Ashley Miles has worked too hard for her independence to let some Bentley-driving hunk named Quinton Murphy interfere with her plans—or her freedom. Yes, the chemistry is phenomenal. Kind of scary, actually. But that’s it. NO emotional commitments.
I seem to have a love-hate relationship with Lori Foster’s books. The last one I read I absolutely LOVED. This one, not so much. 14% in, a real conversation between the two main characters and all Quinton can even focus on is the fact that Ashley still has her v-card. Normally not really an issue, but every part of his POV is focused on having sex with Ashley. For some reason, this rubbed me the wrong way. I know this is a re-release, and it’s her re-releases I don’t seem to love so much, but IDK. I did like Ashley though. Her wording of things was pretty funny.

I enjoyed this book. It pulled you right in and kept you turning the pages. This book was well written and I had no issues following the story. It tied into the other books in the series well.

Lori Foster has away with words that make you want to keep turning the pages. Murphy's Law is book two of the Law series. There is great chemistry between the characters . Basically you have two characters from different parts of the spectrum falling for one another ...but can they come together and make it work???An overall good read.

Wow! What a steamy romance full of suspense! It gave me chills in good and bad ways and I loved it to bits. Ashley and Quinton's story is not one to miss if you love romance.

Now THAT was much better!
Yes, at first, I thought it was going to be just as ridiculous as Jude's Law, but it wasn't. Yes, there was a lot of focus on the suspense, but also enough on Ashley and Murphy that it was enjoyable. It was actually kinda of cute to read a story of 'love at first sight'...I think the ending was great except I do wish Ms Foster would have continued on and given Tim a HEA, even if it was just a short novella. I think his character growth deserved it. But I'm not a writer, so what do I know....lol

I enjoyed this book a lot. I'm a big fan of Lori Foster & this book is another great addition to my Lori Foster library. The drama & suspense in the story of Ashley & Quinton was gripping with an insane, murdering stalker on her tail. Ashley & Quinton were drawn together but Ashley need to follow her plan & her sexual inactivity have her pushing Quniton back as hard as he is trying to push them forward. My only problem with the book was that I didn't realize that it was a two parter & not having read the first part I was a little lost at first but caught up fast. I definitely want to read the first part now so I know the whole story. Definitely recommend to read.

For those who have been reading Lori's books forever, you might remember this title with a different cover. Yes, Murphy's Law is a reprint with a brand spanking new cover, that's a little more drool-worthy. The over cover is adorable, but this one is drool-worthy. I'm still fairly new to Lori books I didn't know it was a reprint. I basically wanted to read this book because of the cover. By the way this is a book two in a series, and I would strongly recommend getting Jude's Law before starting Murphy's Law. I wasn't completely lost, but it would be a good recommendation to read the first book to get the gist of what happen to the bad guy and why he's seeking out revenge on Ashley Miles.

We have Ashley who grew up in a not so pleasant way. Her family life wasn't the best, but she had an awesome friend. Anyway, in social situation she's a bit confrontational, but it's her self protection mechanism. Now Quinton Murphy is intrigued by her. Hey he's willing to work past her prickly side. Her prickly side isn't the easiest thing to break through, but Quinton is willing to work on.

Anyway, once we get past May and Jude's wedding the focus is on Ashley and Quinton and their relationship. However, their relationship comes with a bumps and a mad man. Overall, Murphy's Law was a pretty good read. It's an older contemporary, because some of the items in the story. However, still pretty good read. So, if you are in the mood for a prickly heroine and a little overprotective alpha, Murphy's Law is your book.

Ashley and Quinton's story. Love this story, and it was hard to put down. I did not read the first book, but was not lost at all. Well written and a real page turner. Between the nut chasing after Ashley, and the snarky comments, I kept switching back and forth from laughter to nervous. I also liked the boys, and actually wished there would have been more with them. Highly recommend this book, series and author. I have not read a bad one by her yet, and that definitely includes this wonderful story.

Murphy's Law is a fun and sexy read with a little bit of comedy and some suspense and a great story to pass your time. Quinn and Ashley have sparks flying all around them even though there is some resistance to a relationship at first. I really enjoyed this one.

Murphy's Law is off the charts HOT!! I first read this when it cane out in 2006, and I loved it then as I love it now. Quinton and Ashley have so much chemistry between them that I was afraid they would combust when they get together.  Quinton is determined to get Ashley to go out with him and will not give up until she agrees to go out with him. He then finds out that Ashley has a stalker and he wants to keep her safe. I love the complex characters that Lori Foster creates. I recommend this book and series to everyone. I give MURPHY'S LAW 5/5 STARS.

A great romantic suspense read that is fun, cute and sexy! Heads-up this title was originally published about a decade ago. I've read it twice now since I didn't realize this at first. The newer version as a hunky man on the cover. The old version only had words.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGallery, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Murphy's Law was fun! And sweet. And romantic. And filled with suspense and danger, too. Foster never fails to delight me, and I have to say that Murphy's Law hit the right spot. Ashley and Quinton were both characters I could relate to, even if they are very different from me. Ashley really touched me, because she was such an independent woman, but still managed to ask for help when she needed it. And she definitely knew when she should stop being stubborn, and make sure she and the people she cared about would stay safe... at least as safe as possible.

This is an oldie but a goody! I read this book in 2006 when it first came out and enjoyed reading it again. It was funny, sexy and very romantic. I loved the spunky attitude of Ashley and Quinton's wont give up attitude because they both kept this book fun and sexy and left the readers wanting more.

Finished Reading Add a date
Review I read this book years ago and loved it! It was nice to reread it! Lori Foster is an awesome author and her books are so easy to fall into!

Quinton Murphy is 33 years old, hot and rich! He owns a business with his Uncle. He is very interested in the girl that cleans his office..Ashley Miles. She was a hard worker, gorgeous, sassy and a sharp tongue, taking no crap off anyone...him included. She kissed him and now he's like a school boy pursuing her.

Ashley Miles is a college student that works two jobs. She had a horrible childhood and left home at the age of 17. Because of how poor she was as a child, there was one girl, May, that always took up for her and became her best friend. May is engaged to Jude, a famous fighter and somehow Ashley winds up with Quinton as her date to the wedding.

This book has it all! There's sappy love, of course, but it also was humor, mystery, twist and turns, suspense and copulation!! Definitely a 5 star story in my opinion!

I loved re-reading this book! Quinton was awesome, and Ashley was fabulous and independent. I remembered the reveal with May differently, but I'm sure I just don't remember correctly since its been so many years since I've read it.

I have chosen to DNF this book. I was not really able to get into the characters and I felt like I was missing something, like there should have been a chapter before this book started.

I appreciate the opportunity to read the title and look forward to the next one.

This is one of my favorite books by Lori Foster. It is a standalone, but it is recommended that you read Jude’s Law first. There are a lot of facts and mentions in the book that will make more sense after reading the first book. I love Ashley’s independent and snarky attitude. She was not afraid to say what she felt, and she stood up for what she believed in. The only part that was a little annoying, was her constant complaining about her breast size. She was so confident in her life, but she was hooked on that one physical feature.
Quinton is a rich businessman, and he has his eye on Ashley. She tries to avoid him because her life is so busy, and she does not have the time for a man. But Quinton is not a quitter, and he sets out to change her mind. Sparks fly, and Ashley inevitably gives in to the attraction. There are plenty of twists and turns in the book, and there are some unexpected surprises.

Our heroine, Ashley has a plan to make something of herself and no-one is going to stop her from escaping the poverty of her past. Unfortunately, Quinton didn’t get that memo and pursues her like he has no other. Ashley doesn’t understand why her sarcastic wit and aloofness isn’t driving Quinton away but actually acts as a catalyst to bring them together. When Ashley finds herself in the crosshairs of a revenge plot, Quinton will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Sparks and bomb fragments fly in Murphy’s Law by Lori Foster.

Murphy's Law follows Jude's Law and features Ashley and Quinton. I haven't read Jude's Law and at times felt I would have understood information throughout the story slightly better having read the previous title.

Ashley is a unique, and quirky the type of character who moves to the beat of her own drum. She's stubborn, strong willed and determined to make her way in this world, without being dependent upon anyone else.

Quinton had a completely different upbringing and comes from a very different social standing. He's a rich, intelligent, hot, sexy, caring and protective alpha.

The chemistry and attraction is intense and undeniable between the hero and heroine. I thoroughly enjoyed their banter and interactions that were fun and flirty and at times quite humorous and had me laughing out loud.

Murphy's Law is an enjoyable, light, easy to read contemporary romance, as the name suggests if it can go wrong it does for Ashley. There are elements of intrigue and suspense that kept this story from being a traditional billionaire romance. I did feel that the ending was a tad rushed, but other than than another enjoyable Lori Foster read.
