This story was a good mystery with just enough of the romantic element. If I have any criticism, it would be that the story went on just a bit too long, which made it possible for me to figure out "whodunit."
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Dangerous Behavior by Nancy Bush that I read and reviewed.
The twisted and creative mind of Nancy Bush blows my mind again with another book that I was unable to put down.
I loved Dangerous Behavior from the start and Bush had me guessing who the killers were literally until I read the very last section of the book and that was some excellent writing. I can't say much more because I don't want to accidentally give away spoilers but this is a must read if you love romantic suspense.
Dangerous Behavior gets five out of five stars.
Money, intrigue, murder,a pair of killers, and a beautiful backdrop is the perfect mix for this mystery! We have Sam Ford, former cop, lost with no real idea on where life is taking him. He regrets his past, he does not seem to want to exist in his present. He is basically estranged from his older brother until he receives a cryptic text from his brother requesting to meet . When his brother never shows, Sam takes a drive and see a boat ablaze out at sea. Fear grips him as he arrives on the scene, especially after he finds his brother's wife, whom happens to also be Sam's ex, unconscious on the shore. This jump starts a thrilling ride through the twists and turns of this whodunit.
The farther into the book you go, the more drawn in you are. The characters are well thought out and the relationships between everyone are well defined without it seeming like filler. Every word leads you closer and closer to solving the murder. The twist at the end left me gasping, totally unexpected.
If you are looking for a gripping, hold on to your pants murder mystery, look no further!
Julia Ford and Sam were high school sweethearts. Circumstances caused them to break up and Julia ends up married to Sams brother Joe Ford. Sam receives a mysterious text from his brother to meet with him but his brother is a no show. Sam finds Julia half drowned on a deserted beach and Joe is missing. There is a boat on fire on the lake and it might be Joes. The thrill ride starts.
This book will hold you on the edge of your seat from the beginning. You don't know who you can trust. People are keeping all sorts of secrets. You have a pair of twisted thrill killers, plus someone else who might be using them to eliminate people for him. There are a couple of major twists in the story at the end that I didn't see coming. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
I am reviewing this book for RT Book Reviews magazine
Like other books by this author, emphasis is placed on the mystery and suspense over romance. There was enough romance for me, and I appreciated the twists and turns in the story. I did not figure out the central mystery, but we were given clues.
Julia St. James Ford has no memory of how she came to be washed up on a beach near her home in Oregon. Nor does she have any idea how her husband, Joe, died. Police rule the whole thing a terrible accident. But Sam, Joe’s brother, and Julia’s first love, doesn’t believe it. As Julia struggles to regain her memory, and Sam investigates, Julia’s neighbors harbor dark secrets about murder and the one person who can bring all their “fun” to an end. Jules is a marked woman. Nancy Bush consistently provides first class entertainment and surprises in her mysteries
