Hard Stick is another great novel by L.P. Dover. I really enjoyed it. It's Full of lovely characters, Hot & Steamy moments and great story.
L. P. Dover has done fantastic job and Every Reader must read Hard Stick.
I cannot get enough of LP's characters and stories. The woman is a genius at story telling. She interweaves the characters so that we hear from our favorites in previous stories. She is amazing.
In Hard Stick, we meet Kristen, a hard working architect. She is in a relationship with a man that seems to be a little hand strong with her surroundings. This relationship is controlling and has chaos written all over it. A lot of terrible things happen within days of each other and Kristen finds herself just trying to keep going.
Kellan is in the prime of his career as captain of the NC Hockey team. He has a funny crew of friends that we get to meet in this story. He is determined to win Kristen's heart even though she is a little hard to get to know. Once she lets down her walls though they are explosive.
I loved the chemistry with these two, they were friends, they were lovers, and they truly cared for each other. The support system around them both is amazing and I cannot wait to see where the other hockey players shake out if they get stories of their own.
Be prepared to ride the emotional roller coaster with this one. She has you feeling all those emotions within a few chapters and it continues on until you get a huge sigh at the end letting you know all is well.
Fun sexy sports romance book, cute story but adds nothing new to the genre. A fun read nonetheless that I’d recommend to fans of sport romance books.
Hard Stick was an absolute hoot and fun and sexy read. Dover never fails to serve us the charming and sexy heroes and pairs them with fiesty or sweet heroines to match. And Hard Stick delivered on the humor, the romance, the character arcs, the sexy times. You'll have all the best time and fun reading this.
This is my first and definitely won't be my last book by L.P. Dover! I was consumed from the first page to the last! I love a great sports romance L.P. Dover delivers in Hard Stick! I couldn't stop once I started.
I loved this book! Love this author. I devoured it. Love me a good sport romance
Thank you for the Arc Netgalley
Sex toy entrepreneur single mom needs a place to stay until she can find an affordable home. A cottage on Nicks’s propert is volunteered by their mutual friends. Nick is a loner with a lot of self-blame going on in his head. He finds himself more and more drawn to Jodie and her daughter, Zyana. Everything is complicated by his doubts and her reluctance to try to lean on people. Great love story, not just them falling for watch other, but him falling for her daughter.
Not your average sports love story. Alot of people are complaining about not enough hockey in this. To be honest that is why I love L.P. Dover. Yes it is involving a hockey player but it's more than that.
Personally I loved it. The plot was suspenseful and delightful. Dover did not let me down. It is easy to get lost in the story and definitely worthy of a read.
Ever have a toxic relationship that felt like it was a be all or end all thing? This story is about recovering from one of those and opening yourself up to the possibilities of a better one.
Sexy. Sweet. Unforgettable. I love this author and the stories she writes. Great chemistry. Undeniable attraction. Smoldering tension. Characters that make you feel everything. Highly recommended this book y'all!
This is not a story about hockey. This had so much more to it than I was expecting which made me love it even more. Just enough suspense to keep my attention but also enough sassiness and sexiness to keep me swooning. I've been reading LP Dover for years and this is just another book added to the favorite list.
This book was pretty good. It definitely held my attention and I’ll be checking out the author’s other books.
Hard Stick is a good romance, with some suspense and quite a bit of heartache as well.
I sometimes found the character dialogues to be a little repetitive, even when they still felt quite natural.
This one was not your typical hockey book, in fact there was hockey players but not really hockey. Kristen thought she had found the man for her in Mitchell but he was over dominant and possessive to the point of obsessive and what made her fear for her life. This made her run. She found herself working in a pub under a different name and met the players of the Charlotte Strikers. There she meets Kellen. He is not looking for another hook-up but works hard to get Kristen to agree to a date. There was an underlying mystery and suspense going on. This was well written with great characters and even though this was not the typical sports romance, I look forward to more in this series to see where it leads.

I started this expecting the usual sports romance and was pretty surprised about the suspense part of this book.
The beginning threw me right into the suspense part and had me on the edge of tears within the first 20 pages. The suspense was build up nicely and always lunging in the background, so there was a constant tension.
The romance part was very enjoyable too. I loved Kellan and Kristen together and they had a gread chemistry. Especially Kellan was a great character, always there for Kristen and always caring for her. I also enjoyed the sports setting with the rest of his team.
"Hard Stick" was a great romantic suspense and I am looking forward to read the other books in this series.
Hockey romance books are my weakness. So of course when I saw this one, I requested it immediately. I feel slightly let down. This whole story felt rushed and fast-paced. It was hard to like the characters, they felt slightly fake and superficial. It was a quick read, so it didn't take long to get through, but it just wasn't my kind of book.
4.5 Stars from Renee!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.
This is Kristen and Kellan’s story. Kellan is the enforcer for the Charlotte Strikers. He thinks of himself as a regular guy. Kellan knows for the right woman he will settle down and enjoy some clean but naughty fun. Kristen just might be that woman. But once I get the date I have wanted for a while after one kiss she shuts him down. Kristen has secrets. If those secrets come out it might just be the end of everything she is building. She can’t allow herself to get attached to Kellan. When her past comes for her she might just have to leave. Kellan wants to know all her secrets. Can she trust him not only with her secrets but also with her heart? Will he protect her from her past?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book.
Twists, turns and sexy excitement, I really enjoyed this book!
**4.5 Stars**
Kristen and Kellan’s story is one of my favorites I’ve read so far in 2017. There is something about the slow burn that they experience that brings them together. Their chemistry is off the charts and you can’t help but love them both, but watching them fall was the best part.
Kristen has secrets she can’t tell anyone. So why would she want to start dating and falling in love? That was the plan, to stay away until she should finally move on with her life and not have to worry about her safety.. until Kellan.
Kellan doesn’t date. He has a reputation of being a ladies man, but is he a ladies man or is it all for show? There was something about Kellen I couldn’t hell but love when I first met him. I had to know what this sweet man was going to do to prove Kristen that he was really interested in her.
These characters both have thinks in their life they don’t like to talk about or can’t for that matter, but watching them learn to trust and confide in each other made their story so much sweeter. I loved everything about Kristen and Kellan, even if their journey was sad at times, you couldn’t help but love them!
OMG This book was excellent. Do not START this book unless you can sit and read it all at one time, because you will not want to put it down. This book had it all, I don't usually enjoy books that make my heart pound, This book made me laugh out loud and eat potato chips and dip for supper because i didn't want to put it down long enough to make something. If you don't read this book you will be missing out on the best read I have read in a very long time. I give this book 10 starts rather than 5
