So, this book is about a love triangle. Period.
It doesn't try to make a secret of that fact, nor does it try to be something it's not, and I loved that about both the author and her novel.
If you loathe, despise, hate love triangles with a passion, this book obviously won't be for you.
If you don't care too much for love triangles but can tolerate them from time to time if they're well executed, like me, you might end up enjoying this a lot.
If you love the angst that comes with a love triangle, well, what are you waiting for?
I never thought that would ever happen, but I'm girl-crushing hard on a heroine that's maintaining a love triangle. Now, how did that happen?
I just love a heroine with a healthy self-confidence, a filterless mouth on her and honesty in spades. And I think it's the latter that made Bex leading on two great guys so much more bearable to me - that she kept communicating her intentions clearly from the first second. Her inner voice probably helped a lot, too. This wasn't as angsty a read as you might expect from a classic love triangle. It was fun, sexy and easy to digest most of the time.
Then there were Paxton and Dean, two gorgeous, easy-going hunks of football players practically falling at her feet and competing for her attention (in case you're wondering: Team Paxton ftw!).
It was impossible not to care.
The only thing that kinda irked me and made me withdraw a star, was the ending.
(It felt rushed, unrealistic and a tad too convenient to me and while I get that it's a solution that will make everyone happy, I wish the author would have been a little more bold and made Bex choose between the two guys.)
Other than that, though: thumbs up and Kudos for making me enjoy a love triangle!
My first read by S.J. Noble was thoroughly enjoyable and provided interesting characters and a strong storyline. I liked the character dynamics and the overall concept of the book, and look forward to reading more by this author.
This is a fab read from S.J. noble who I've not read any of her books before but will be in the future coz of this book.which I just didn't want to end. I just couldn't put it down till I got to the very last page. Then I just wanted more books about the Memphis Knights coz this is a fantastic start to a fantastic series.
The characters are just fab and there is a lot of mixed things going on which will grab your interest and keep you turning the pages till the very end. Which gives you an amazing and fantastic book. Plus the chemistry between the characters is so hot and very steamy and just sets the pages on fire as you read this boo. Would highly recommended this story to everyone.
I have mixed feelings about this book, especially the ending, but overall, I thought it was a great read with a good storyline. It's the story of a woman trying to follow her heart, yet her heart wants two men.
Dr. Bexley Vaughn is a team doctor for the Memphis Knights, a pro football team. However, she's not just a regular ol' doctor, she's some super genious who has developed a way to help the team win games by using video, social media posts and science. It was really quite intriguing to hear how she used this to assist the team (and it actually made sense). Not only is she intelligent, but she's a food and beer loving 26 year old that speaks her mind and attracts people with her personality. So, definitely not what you'd expect.
Paxton Davies is a quarterback legend in the league and is trying to salvage at least one more year of his career. He wants to go out on top and he's hoping Bex can help him do so. Bex has had a crush on Paxton since she was a teen (he's 12 years older than her), so when she meets him in real life, she wants to go all fan girl, but suppresses the urge. Paxton is married to his wife Debbie and has been since right after high school, so this means that any relationship Bex hopes to have is off limits...or so we think.
Dean Kincade is the cocky rookie quarterback on the team that is too handsome for his own good and needs to improve his persona so that he doesn't drop out of the league before his time. He's battling with Paxton to win the starting spot on the roster, so he regularly meets with Bax as well to try and improve his game.
Bex ends up having a relationship with both men, but not at the same time. They both know that she's seeing someone else, but Dean has no clue that the other person is Paxton. Of course, Bex has to go and fall for both men, so now she's really in a tough position, trying to figure out which one she wants to be with long-term. It's not an easy predicament - Paxton is married after all (but in an open marriage).
I'm not sure how I felt about Bex with Paxton. I mean there was no denying the attraction and he was incredibly sweet and attentive (and who knew he would turn out to be a bit forward and aggressive in bed), the perfect guy essentially. But I'm not sure if I liked the idea of a married man having a relationship with another woman, even if he did have an open marriage with his wife for a long time. This bothered me a bit, but I did like them together and could see them having a long future together, IF he divorced his wife.
I felt bad for Dean. I mean he really loved Bex and yet he knew she was also sleeping with someone else. He was incredibly sweet as well and didn't push her. He turned out to be a much better character than I expected and became my favorite.
What annoyed me was Bex feeling as though it was okay to lead both men on and honestly, it felt as though she was cheating on the both of them the entire time, even if they knew there was someone else. She knew they both loved her and wanted a relationship with her, yet she didn't step back and think it through to see how that would work. It just rubbed me the wrong way and honestly at the end, I thought that she'd end up with neither man the way things were going.
I won't give away the ending, but it honestly surprised me - I didn't see it coming, that's for sure. I wish we had been given an epilogue and a look into the future to see how it all worked out a year or two down the road. I still find it a bit unbelievable and was hoping to get some reassurance as to how the dynamics worked. I look forward to reading the next book though and hope it will include some glimpses into Bex's life in the future.
Double Coverage was awesome. Solid 5 Star read! I love a book that can hook me in with the first page then keep me there, this was one of those.
Double Coverage is the first book I have read by S. J. Noble and I can’t wait to read more. I enjoyed this book the dynamics of the relationship between the main character worked well and made this a great read. I look forward to reading what comes next
Football Romance and falling for two men? Where do I sign up? I don't know any woman who would love to be sandwiched between two guys.Great book Noble, not so patiently waiting for the next.
The title had me curious and the story pulled me in i really loved this book and hope to see more similar to it in the future.
This book is AWESOME!!! It is so real and funny when she just opens her mouth to speak whatever she is thinking, it's refreshing to read!! I loved it! I loved that she just was super smart and yet had character flaws like everyone else. I loved the depth of all the characters and the craziness of the dates and the Birthday gift from Dean - a plush venerable disease- I was laughing so hard! It was such a funny situation! I loved how they bonded and friendships grew into something more, it wasn't insta love or them going straight to the dirty deeds this has great friendships development and I really loved that aspect! I am so hooked on the writing of this author and I can't wait to read more!!! I hope there are more books in this series. I just loved this book, excellent writing and characters who are just so complex and people who I wish were real so I could be friends with them.
These characters show genuine emotion- the men seem to show even more real depth than the woman. This is a love triangle, as can be seen on the cover. With the way the book ends, there could be a sequel, but maybe the author is just leaving things to imagination.
