Aiden Allen does not like to practice proper hygiene with his hair. As a result, it gets very messy and out of control. It has a mind of its own - making a mess in art class and knocking his friends down in the mud at recess. Will Aiden find out what his hair wants and get his wild mane tamed? This was a pretty funny picture book that can encourage those kids who don't like taking baths and brushing their hair to do so. The illustrations are cute and funny, with Aiden's hair taking up a LOT of room on the page due to how out of control it is.

Hair-pocalypse by Geoff Herbach is a wonderful, funny picture book of a boy named Aiden who has wild. Aiden is a little boy with hair that has a mind of its own. This story takes us through a day in Aiden’s life with his wild hair and how he was able to deal with it. The overall message of the book is about compromise and understanding.

Aidan has wild and crazy hair. Aidan’s also a bit on the “grubby” side, as young boys are inclined to be. The book opens with Aidan’s hair in full on rebellion. With what appears to be a mind of its own the mop of hair undertakes to make Aidan’s life embarrassing and difficult. After yelling and screaming and fighting with his hair Aidan finally has a calm conversation with the unruly mop and works out an accommodation.

The illustrations are wonderful and help enhance the story. The pictures depict the personality of the hair and show its rebellion, and then it’s eventual abandon. The pictures show the support and energize the story, which helps the reader with getting into the story.

I give this book 5/5 stars.

So, you think you're having a bad hair day? Well, you haven't seen anything until you see Aidan Allen's hair! It's got a mind of its own and no matter how much Aidan yells and screams at it, it just won't behave. Can Aidan find a way to tame his mane?

Hair-Pocalypse is a fun picture book that teaches about hygiene in an entertaining way. I particularly loved the passage where needs are distinguished from wants. Although the focus is on hair in this instance, it is a great lesson that parents can apply to other circumstances relevant to their child.

The story is funny and engaging, and the illustrations are captivating. I loved the personalities that were captured on the childrens' faces in the illustrations and the use of colours and detail to maintain your attention. Be certain to look closely at the pictures, as it seems the story may not be over for Aidan at the end of the book.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley (thank you very much to NetGalley and Capstone) in exchange for honest feedback. I want to this book to find its way into homes, schools and libraries. Parents are sure to see their kids in Aidan and kids are going to really like him.

My entire childhood was basically one extended bad hair day, so as you can imagine, I really loved Hair-Pocalypse by Geoff Herbach. The humor and hyperbole here are pitch perfect as Aidan tries to figure out why his hair is quite literally acting up. The illustrations compliment this wild story that will sure to be a hit with kids. I am looking forward to reading this one aloud soon!

Aiden Allen is a grubby kid and his hair is angry with him. It simply won't behave. His hair throws a hair brush, knocks over his cereal, ties itself into bows on the school bus, and just keeps acting out. After a long day at school, Aiden Allen finally decides to reason with his hair and come to an understanding together.

Kids will laugh at Aiden Allen's hair's antics throughout his school day.

Hair-pocalypse is a picturebook written by Geoff Herbach and illustrated by Stephen Gilpin. It is currently scheduled for release on August 1 2017. Aidan Allen has angry hair. That's right angry hair. Hands down, he has the angriest hair anyone has ever seen. But why is his hair so angry? Why is his hair trying to ruin his life? Why is the sky blue? Two of these three questions will be answered in this comical tale of kid vs. hair.

Hair-pocalypse is a bright and energetically illustrated picturebook. As someone that has hair with a mind of its own (in fact my hair's sentient nature is a running joke among some of my friends- who claim it grows and moves when I get angry) this book was one I just had to read. However, Aidan and I have some major differences in out hygiene habits. In short, Adian does not really care to be clean. He is admittedly a grubby kid- and his hair has had enough. I loved the images of the things his hair does to get his full attention, and how simple a peaceful solution is. I think this is a great book for sharing with kids that argue about bathing, brushing, and other basic issues that effect cleanliness. Most children go through a stage when they do not want to take the time to get clean, or try to rationalize that they will just get dirty again. I can think of a few little ones that I need to share this fun, and non shaming, book about needing to be clean, at least a little. I really like that the changes Adian makes are small steps, ones that are likely to stick and perhaps start a trend in a cleaner direction for him and readers of like mind.

As kid goes through various phases of his/her life, he faces various problems. But below age of 8-9, it parents responsibility keep them reminding importance of hygiene and importance of our day-to-day activities like bath, brush, wash, etc.
It is a story of a small boy who got problems due to lack of attention towards his long and curly hairs. Funny narration and drawings make kids laugh while reading. A nice book with good message.

Aiden Allen is a grubby kid but one day his hair is just extra maddeningly out of control. As in it literally has a mind of its own and is creating mayhem – from spilling milk to making him look like a fool. Something must be done before Aiden’s hair ruins his life forever.

Wow, that’s some wild hair. At first I thought this was just another one of those books about a bad hair day, but this takes the bad hair day to the next level. The idea of hair literally having a mind of its own is quite freaky since hair never wants to behave. Aiden’s solution to the problem provides a possible suggestion for others who like to be grubby but should really be more presentable for social functions. It’s a little bit about hygiene and a lot of crazy comedy about what hair would do if it had a mind of its own. Kids should eat up the crazy situations that Aiden has to face at the mercy of his unruly hair. Look carefully in the last illustration spread; there’s some good fodder for a continuing story for those creative little writers out there. (Aiden’s shoe laces look like they might have a mind of their own now.)

Aiden Allen's hair is ruining his life. From the time he gets up in the morning until the middle of the afternoon, Aiden's hair wreaks havoc on his family, friends and classmates. When Aiden finally finds out what had made his hair so angry, it is an easy fix. This book is hilarious, well illustrated and fun for kids, especially any with unruly hair. I recommend this book to any child or their family who has issues with their hair and loves to laugh.

We've all had bad hair days, but what happens when the hair really takes control? Grubby kids and neat kids both will love hearing about Aidan's hair drama in this humorous, yet sweet tale.

Right let's start with the good bits - nice to see a male protagonist on the subject of hair. Although a bit of stereotyping on the lack of personal hygiene. Illustrations are great, story is ok. Not entirely sure it would hit the spot with my students.

Aiden was also grubby. But that wasn't the problem. It was his hair, it was out of control. He got a brush stuck in it. At breakfast his dad tells him to fix up his hair. But there was not time before the bus came. On the bus his hair tied itself into bows. In class his hair formed airplane wing. He was so embarrassed. His hair had a mind of it's own. It continued to wreak havoc all day. Aiden finally asks his hair why it keeps going crazy and what it wants/needs. His hair spells out WASH ME.
This is a funny book perfect for a messy/grubby kid to read. Just from the cover you can tell the mayhem Aidens hair will cause him. I enjoyed the illustrations. They brought the story to life perfectly. Aiden learns a lesson about hygiene. If he doesn't wash his hair every day it will act out and take revenge on him.

4/5 ⭐

Aiden's tries to tame the most stubborn of all hairs has left me smiling the whole time while reading it.

More of this wit and wonderful illustration is much needed and I am definitely keeping my eyes out for more picture books by Geoff Herbach.

Big crazy hair is my weakness so I was instantly in love with the cover! It reminds me so much of my 8-year old daughter whose hair is always acting up :) the illustrations were fantastic! I think she'll have a blast reading it. A good lesson about tidiness compromise and problem solving :)

I am afraid my son would want the crazy hair so he might refuse a shower after reading this book. What a fun book though. Loved the details. It works great as a social skill book for hygiene too.

Hair-pocalypse by Geoff Herbach has much of the same humor that his YA books have! It starts out as a silly book about Aidan's crazy hair and ends up being a book about thinking of others and compromise. This'll definitely be a favorite read aloud!
