Project You: More than 50 ways to Calm Down, De-Stress and Feel Great by Aubre Andrus is a self help book that gives you step by step instructions for individual problems or events. This book will teach you how to mediate and teach you breathing exercises that show you how to center your thoughts bringing you back to the present. You learn about mindfulness or being in the present moment without judgement, this helps to lessen stress, depression and anxiety. Andrus helps you learn how to not only hear what people are saying but truly listening to what is being said. The book has yoga poses that you learn how to do correctly. These poses help to loosen your mind, body and soul to release all the tension and negativity held deep inside. This is one of the best self help books I have found.
This was a quick fun read. The cover and description drew me in and the subject matter was something that interested me.
This book is aimed at a younger audience but it was still enjoyable. I found that the illustrations and overall design of the book we're really beautiful. There was a good amount of advice and tips that could be useful to a teen dealing with stress, but there is one thing that i would change. At the end of the book there is a "Help" section, stating that these tips are not aimed at people suffering with anxiety and depression and what you should do if you are in such a situation. I believe that this disclaimer/ help page should also be added to the beginning of the book
Overall I think that this is a great self help book for teens suffering from regular amounts of adolescent stress. It's also a good way for teens to begin to live a healthier life by making small lifestyle changes i.e.: meditation, exercise etc.
