This is a great book for teenage girls, giving them probably their first experience of interior design and upcycling.
I would have given this a five star review if everything wasn't quite so pink!. A lot of teenage boys like to personalise their own rooms too, and I think this could easily have been given a more unisex appeal. That said, the projects are easy to do and effective. The instructions are clear with good photographs, making all the projects seem easily achievable. I also think that many a parent would dip into this for some ideas, as they could all be easily adapted to a more grown up scheme.
All in all a great idea for a book, and something different for those who love getting crafty.
This book is beautifully put together and features a cute colour spectrum of white, pink and sky blue colours as it's main palette as well as using an array of graphics to help images and text stand out.
The layout is clear to read the steps on plain white background with black type telling us our supplies and then the project photos are backed onto funky designs instead to draw us in to looking at the examples to follow.
I studied textiles in school and this book reminds me of projects we found in books then only in here, they show and tell you clearer steps, there is an example mood board to follow as well. It features easy DIY's for things such as, make-up holders, sunglasses organizers, earring holders, mirror and wardrobe up cycling, curtain ideas and more!
The book features a DIY for everything you may ever need in your bedroom and is perfect if you like crafts and Youtube or Pinterest projects. If you are in a plain room or just need to change things up, need a gift for someone crafty or a teen this is the book you need!
4.5 Stars! I really like this book! I got some really cute ideas that I plan to use on my room! It definitely is a book more for the pre-teen & teen aged girl! Still, there are a few ideas I'd like to do & I'm 30!! I think adults will like some of these DIY ideas too! It has lots of pictures & clear directions! Would be a great book to get for ideas for a mother/daughter DIY bedroom re-do project!!
This book is quite simply a MUST HAVE for anyone who needs inspiration.
Room Love: 50 DIY Projects to Design Your Space by Healther Wutschke is a cute book of room and storage ideas for teens. I thought the projects were challenging enough to interest teens and some adults, but not too difficult to actually complete and have the finished product look good.
This book is all you need to update your teen/tween's room with some adorable and simple projects that everyone can do! Great storage ideas, cute pillows...lots of super fun projects!
This is rreally interesting, especially if you have a teeneager daugther or son, 'cause both can created a personal space just for them, but if you growh up and have the tools to actually create something thnks to this advise, you will a have a great time
Being able to unleash your creativity is so freeing, in such a digital world it is important for middle graders and teens to be able to spend time being creative and this book is a great kickstarter.
The book is very appealing, there is lots of colour, easy to follow instructions and clear pictures. The author has chosen projects that the middle grade and teen age group can relate to; holders for earrings, storage ideas, chair covers and adding colour to already existing furniture are just a few of the design your space ideas.
What I like about this book is that it is:
• Encouraging screen free activities,
• It is a starting place to ignite a person’s creativity;
• Colourful and pleasing to the eye;
• And, uses materials that can be found around the house or for very little cost.
I believe this will be a very popular book and will be hours of fun.
I found this book to be very reliable very helpful and quite nifty. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family that is interested in this kind of resourceful book. Personally, I think that the reathe author has done a really good job in providing insightful information for people to use which is easy and simple to understand. So please take a read and see for yourself because I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Review placed on Goodreads, Amazon UK when book is released in September 2017.
Sweet, pretty and girly!
Overall: 4.5/5
Cover: 5/5
Content: 4.5/5
Appealing: 5/5
I love the style. SUPER love it.
But I think a few ideas are not very useful....perhaps it's because I expected the book to be completely about DIY stuff. A few pages were only about ideas instead of instructions.
Anyway, this is a book I would definitely take a look if I see it in a bookstore (The cover's super stunning), but if there's a copy in the local library, I don't think I will buy a copy myself.
Looking forward to the author's next book:) (Her styles completely matches mine <3)
Inspired by the fact that we each spend at least a third of our lives in our bedrooms new title Room Love shares a collection of DIY ideas to decorate and organise your space into one you truly love.
Aimed at a Middle Grade audience the book starts out by sharing tips on how to declutter, create mood boards and sketch layout designs to prepare for a room makeover. These preparation tips are followed by a series of DIY projects focused on using easy to access supplies and simple ideas that can make a huge difference to any room. Each tutorial comes complete with colour photos, in some cases including several step-by-step images or before and after shots.
Projects included range from painting up an old dresser or recycling cereal boxes as drawer dividers to the more unusual, for example using faux fur fabric to turn your desk chair into something that resembles a fluffy cat! One of my favourite projects from the selection were the room scents made using essential oils and natural ingredients like fresh herbs and fruit. Other projects that particularly caught my eye were the Driftwood Jewelry Hanger and Dream Jar.
Whilst I’m not amongst the target audience for the book myself, I believe that Room Love is a fun title full of bold ideas which will encourage young teens to use DIY as a way to make their space truly feel like their own.

Room Love is filled with lots of fun DIY projects for teens and adults alike. Included with the crystal clear photographs for each project are a comprehensive list of materials needed and step by step guides to accomplish each project.
This book is a great addition to the library of a budding crafty person and hobbiest, however, I do believe it should be aimed at older teens and the like.
I jumped at the chance to (hopefully) get a review copy. My niece is very crafty and likes to make and build her own stuff before even thinking about wanting to buy furniture/items/etc. So, while she is a year or two too young for the targeted age group for Room Love (which is 9 - 13), I thought maybe I could rehash some ideas for her.
The only one I could probably do with her is the Treasure Box one, which is pretty simple. Get a large shoe box (or any type of box really), decorate it how you want, and ta-da, a treasure box for all her birthday cards, rocks, or whatever she'd like. Also, the pretty charging station looks like a great gift idea to make for her mom or grandma (or whoever).
One thing I didn't like (or really found fault with) was the inclusion of a dream catcher "craft". Dream catchers are cultural items that aren't necessarily easy (or even okay) to commercialize and "do-it-yourself".
Overall, I liked Room Love. The layout is clean, simple, and yet offers enough colors and patterns to inspire the crafter within me. I also appreciate the "get parental approval first" labels on some projects (don't want those budding crafters going off with the glue-gun quite yet). Room Love would be a great addition to any crafter's (and inspiring crafter's) library, even more so if the dream catcher craft was removed from the book.
A nice book for either a girl, who is interested in decorating and organizing her own room, her mom or for both. The book includes multiple projects that might trigger own creative ideas and fun family times.
I love the design and layout of this book. The projects are really easy but look amazing when done. I really like the step by step and pictures that accompany each project. This would make a great gift for a preteen or teenager.
This is the perfect DYI book for any young middle-school girl who is tried the the room she is living in. This book has very cute and fun ways to make your room look brighter and less cookie cutter. And the nice thing is that all the ways given to do this aren't that hard or that expensive.
Some are a bit on the cutesy overboard side, but then I am no longer a teenage girl, but I would have loved to have some of these ideas to work from. There are even tips on how to redo what you did if your mood changes. These are the sorts of projects you might see in Pinterest or Etsy, fun, cute, and just a little bit bright. It is nice to have the ideas all in one place.
This is a great book for a library to have, or in a home. Easy to follow directions, and great pictures to show how it might look along the way and when it is finished.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
This book is recommended for girls from 9 to 13 yr, and I think it does a good job in showing how to make some very easy and trendy accessories for the bedroom. Although I think some are more suitable for the lower end of the age scale; all very simple to make and easily altered if taste change. I know my granddaughter would love some of the ideas and I will help her make some for her room.
A nice resource for aspiring interior decorators, or for teenage girls who are bored to death with their current rooms and not finding anything they like on Pinterest. Would recommend as an addition to a YA nonfiction collection.
Nice little book with some very cute ideas. I liked that it highlighted places where parental consent would be good
