I loved this new addition to the series. NJ Walters always comes through.

Tarrant was sexy as hell. I liked him. He's an easy character to fall in love with. I think his initial caustiouness made sense and then once he trusted her he treated her like a princess, and who wouldn't love that.

I like Valeriya. She had a terrible childhood and a horrible sister to deal with and I enjoyed the family dynamics. I loved that she was an author and wrote stories about dragons, it was a nice touch, she was a sweet character but also strong in her own way.

Great story and I can't wait for the rest of the brothers' stories.

long overdue, but I'm finally diving back into N.J. Walter's drakon series. I've been so fascinated with this world that N.J. has created. There's a lot history evolving around the war that has been happening between the drakons and the Knights.

Just like book 1, I was completely engaged the whole time and constantly learning new things about both the drakons at the Knights. And one by one, the drakon brothers are finally finding the loves of their lives. There's definitely a reason for it after so many years, but there's so still so much to learn.

I loved that there's a little mystery around both parties, I thoroughly enjoyed that the author slowly mentions bits and pieces of truth as you getting through the book. It definitely keeps you guessing and wondering what will happen next.

I'm all for fated mates, but I wasn't quite connecting to it as strongly as I normally would. However, these two definitely know how to steam up a room. 😉

Drakon's Prey is such a great addition and I'm just dieing to know more! Can't wait to start book 3, Drakon's Plunder.

Karina is the leader of the Knights Of dragons - a human organization that captures Drakons, If a human drinks the blood of s drskon it helps them to stay young and heal any illnesses or injuries. The only Drakon known of at this time is Darius and the Knights were using all the resources available to them to find him. A Drakon had a human mother and a dragon shifter father, Valeriya is Karina’s sister but she had been raised mainly by kindly grandparents and wanted nothing to do with The Knights of Dragons. Valeriya writes and illustrates children’s books with the main character is a magical dragon. Valeriya feels if she could do one good thing against the Knights she would be happy. Valeriya wants to warn Darius that the Knights were looking for him. Valeriya goes in her sister Karina’s office and gets an address to a cabin in the woods. Valeriya goes there but what she doesn't know is that beneath the cabin Darius’s younger brother Torrent has his underground lair. Torrent has lived over four thousand years. Torrent has high security above ground and he seen Valeriya long before she came to the cabin. Torrent didn’t know if she was a danger or what she wanted. Torrent has made a fortune and runs it but computers. Drakons are solitary by nature. His beast wants the women and his human side wants answers. The only way to get answers was to take Valeriya and kidnap her so Torrent can question her. Torrent didn’t trust easy but he didn’t believe that this woman meant him or his brothers any harm. Then Torrent slowly let his guard down and Valeriya was falling for Torrent. But Karina was not taking Valeriya disappearance lightly.
I liked this book. I do wish there had been more action. I do advise you to read the first book in this series first as it helps you to pull everything together. I love Torrent and Valeriya together. I didn’t really care for Karina and felt she would sacrifice her sister if she had to if it helped the knights. This book contained: The Knights Of dragons, Drakons, an ancient war, suspense, danger , intrigue hot romance, kidnapping and alot more. This did drag for me a little at times. I liked the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Drakon's Prey has a wonderful premise which was what prompted me to read it in the first place. Unfortunately, as the book progressed, I realized it just wasn't for me.

The book has kudos for everything except the romance, which is the most important thing in this case! I tried so hard to get into it, but I just couldn't get past the fact that it was happening too quickly. I'm never against quick developments on the physical side of things, but these two lovebirds got involved emotionally WAAY too fast. And it was everywhere and impossible to ignore. It really hurt my enjoyment of the story.

I would have preferred for the pace of the feelings to give itself time, for the two characters to know each other before the 'I love you's were thrown around.

More Dragonssss!!! This one picks from where we left in the last book with our protagonist going to find a Drakon (dragon shifter) to warn him about her sisters plan. This is kind of a hate to love story (mostly just on the heroes end). Let’s down to business…

Valeriya Azarov is an children’s books illustrator and has nothing to do with being a knight or her sister and her family’s business in capturing and torturing Darkons. Instead Valeriya even as a child imagined dragons as playmates rather than creatures that were to be hunted for their blood. Her books include dragons that are beloved by the children that read them. Valeriya goes to find the drakon her sister is intent on capturing, no more sitting on the side lines.

Tarrant Cooper is a wind dragon and has little love for knights especially one whose sister is the head of the operation. After losing one of his human friends in the last book due to the actions of the knights, Tarrant is angry and seeing Valeriya he decides to gain information from her to destroy the knights.

Tarrant is drawn to Valeriya from the moment he sees her, as is Valeriya fascinated by him. Tarrant is hesitant to trust her all the while he can’t help be attracted to her and his instincts tell him that she is innocent. I really liked them together, Valeriya was sweet and just a lovely character and Tarrant was quite protective of her which I really liked. They had chemistry right of the bat and we see them slowly falling in love. They were adorable!

This one also has a more threatening presence of the knights and we get see a bit more of the politics of their organization which increased the action factor of the book.

Quibbles: I do wish that Tarrant hadn’t so much done so much stalking of Valeriya through the cameras, it just felt weird. « Hide Spoiler

Overall, I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait for more. It just keeps getting better and better. Wonder which brother we will get next, the extremely social one or the quite one??

Book 2 in this new series by NJ Walters, and I'm loving it!! This was a really fabulous read that got me completely immersed in it!! I didn't want to come up for air, I just wanted to keep on reading and find out what happened!!!

This book is about Darius' dragon brother - Tarrant, the IT/Tech wizard. He's locked away in his mountain hideaway spying on everything going on in the world and running one of the most recognised telecommunication firm in the world, except its just him!! He hates the Knights and everything to do with them, even more so after losing a friend in book 1. So when a woman, Valeriya, shows up at his cabin looking for Darius, things get interesting, as he captures her to hold her prisoner, for her own safety of course!! Things get rather heated when he learns she knows about the Knights!!

What starts as a captor/captive relationship quickly turns into something much more. But Tarrant is a lot more stubborn than Darius, and has had less interaction with women, so has a lot to learn. Valeriya is like a little mouse compared to the giant that is Tarrant and his enormous presence. But Valeriya proves to Tarrant time and time again just how loyal and protective she is. She goes to great lengths in order to save the dragons any way she can.

Again this is told from dual POV's and from some baddies again, giving a fab overview of what's going on from both sides. There is a lot going on in here, as danger lurks around every corner as the Knights are closing in on the dragons. I loved watching how Tarrant's and Valeriya's relationship grew and expanded in such a short time. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts as their all consuming attraction to each other is barely containable!! It was quite a roller coaster of a ride, emotional at times with everything going on, very intense!!

I can't wait for book 3 and to learn about another of Darius' dragon brothers!!

DRAKON'S PREY is absolutely amazing! I love this series and Tarrant Cooper, Darius Varkas' (from DRAKON'S PROMISE) brother and his banks of security computers/cameras is the perfect setup to watch out for all drakon's. Valeriya is a sweetheart, who just wants to draw her dragon's and write her stories. She took a chance to warn the man who had caught the eye of the Knights and that led her to Tarrant. Lucky girl. There is a lot of action, interesting dialogue and of course the romantic moments are off the charts.

Author N.J. Walters gives her readers a new look at dragons in her Blood of the Drakon's series and it is filled with everything paranormal and romance readers want and more. DRAKON'S PREY has sexy dragon shifters (I will leave the explanation of Dragon vs. Drakon to the book), a heroine who is gutsy and determined, sweet and steamy romance, and love (though the men would probably deny it) that includes family, what more could you ask for? Maybe a couple more books by this author

I so enjoyed the second book, Drakon’s Prey in NJ Walters’ Blood of the Drakon series. In Drakon’s Prey, we meet Valeriya Azarov. Valeriya is the head of the Knights of the Dragons sister. Valeriya is opposed to the mission of the secret society and takes it upon herself to try to save at least one of the Drakon’s. This effort, of course, makes her a traitor and a target for the Knights.

Tarrant Cooper has lived alone for thousands of years. He’s survived so long by listening to his gut and his natural suspicious nature—plus a shit ton of electronic surveillance, hacking, and such. When Valeriya moves into the cabin above his secret lair, Tarrant is intrigued and cautious… especially once he is in her presence… he realizes she’s his mate, but she’s also a pawn in a dangerous game. Can Tarrant protect his heart and his mate and keep himself and his Drakon “brothers” safe?

Oooh, I so love to immerse myself into a well written paranormal book. Delving into the world created by the words. Add in some sexy romantic suspense and don’t even attempt to interrupt me until I’m finished reading! I really enjoyed the romance between Tarrant and Valeriya. Their instant attraction and connection was palpable. I found myself rooting for the two of them to best the Knights at their game and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Drakon's Prey is book two in N.J. Walter's Blood of the Drakon series. In it we get to story of Tarrant - brother of Darius and another Drakon and Valeriya, sister to the Knights of the Dragon leader.

Valeriya hasn't wanted a thing to do with the Knights of the Dragon or the things it does, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know things. When she's got an opportunity to hopefully help the Drakon's she takes the chance.

Tarrant is concerned when a woman, followed by two men from the Knights of the Dragon, arrives at the cabin above his secret lair, he's drawn to her but he's also uncertain of her intentions. When he discovers that she seems to not be involved with the men trailing her - he feels compelled to protect her, so he puts a plan into motion.

The connection between Tarrant and Valeriya is palpable from the start of the book. Though there is a bit of a trust issue - as in they aren't sure of the other's motives at first there isn't a hint of worry about the danger of each other. As they learn more about each other, the connection between them deepens and their chemistry sizzles.

I loved Valeriya and her goodness. She was truly concerned about the Drakon's, and wanted to do anything to save at least one of them if she good, even if it meant putting herself in danger. Her heart is pure and good, and though she loves her sister in a familial way - she detests the woman she is and the things she does. Tarrant was an interesting character - strong and smart, but also willing to rely on his instincts about people and act on the impulse to protect even when he didn't fully understand or know Valeriya.

Drakon's Prey dug us deeper into the world of the Knights and the Drakon while giving us another romance in the midst of it. With nods to the danger surrounding both the Drakon and anyone who may post a threat to the Knights, the story kept me hooked. The chemistry between Tarrant and Valeriya brought to life a relationship that felt real and fated in ways.

I look forward to reading more books in this series and exploring the ways of the Drakon further.

I love me some dragons, period. No matter good, bad, neutral. I got acquainted with this series with the first book, Drakon’s Blood, last year. I got pulled in and surrounded by the richness of the world that was created. I stayed and enjoyed the romance of the half-breed, Darius, and his Sarah. I knew that that another would be coming. I knew that I would fall in love with the characters chosen. I got myself to Tarrant and Valeriya.

Leading us to her involvement in all of this makes for a good read. She has step in to the wrong/right territory. For the right reasons and my just get something much better than she ever dreamed as a reward. She was being tracked or hunted. Not quite sure how I want to classify this one.

There was hot sex. A hunt or two. A kidnapping. A supposed rescue. A seduction. Limited action. Limited depth. The world carries in from the first book. I personally would say read book one before reading book two. Things carry over and provide connection between the two. It also allows for you to see the steps toward growth.

I’m looking forward to book three.

Second volume in the Blood of the Drakon series featuring drakons, the male children that dragons from another dimension had with human women before leaving. These drakons have been hunted down by a secret society, the Knights of the Dragon, who wish to take advantage of the powers found in their blood. Drakon’s Prey tells the story of Tarrant, the brother of the first volume’s hero, and Valeriya, sister of the Knights’ current leader.

I thought strange that the heroine’s parents never try to force her to join the Knights when her mother was herself the leader at that time. But the author prefers saying they set her aside, and she was able to become an author and illustrator of children books. Of course…
So she decided to come and warn about the danger the person living at the coordinates she discovered in her sister’s office, and the cabin in the middle of nowhere being empty she decides to move in for a few days in the case the owner came back…
Besides feeling guilty for what her family and the Knights have done to drakons for centuries, and to be despite everything still a bit naïve, Valeriya also has the distinctive characteristic of having a kind of very developed sixth sense which warn her when danger comes near, which doesn’t prevent her to put herself in dangerous situations all the same.

Tarrant is an alpha male very gifted for informatics who lives alone in an underground bunker. He’s immediately suspicious when Valeriya moves in in the cabin above his bunker, and even more when he discovers who her sister is. He kidnaps her to question her, but except for growling on her he’s not really threatening. He’s also quickly protective of her.

The attraction in the couple is quite immediate, and I didn’t really appreciate they have sex when none trust the other. The love scenes are steamy and numerous as it’s most always the case with this author. However I thought they don’t really to know each other outside the bedroom, but as the story takes place on few days it’s a bit normal.

Some details seemed exaggerated IMO, as the fact the underground bunker has a room big enough for the dragon to fly comfortably, you can imagine the size of the room or the time spent digging it (even if drakons are immortals and need not a lot of rest). There are also some repetitions in each character’s thoughts, which can become tedious in the end.

All in all I thought the story never really took off, and apart from some bad guys deaths following an attack there’s not much going on. However I intend to read the next volume to know what happens to the other drakons and their war with the Knights, hoping that it’s more captivating.

A great addition to the Blood of the Drakon series.Drakon's Prey was just as good as Sarah and Darius' story. This one features Darius' brother,Tarrant who is an air drakon.Drakons are half human, half dragon and are the targets of many greedy humans, especially the Kinghts of the Dragons.Katrina is the head of this, and her little sister is Valeriya, a children's book iluustrator, who has never liked her family's involvement in this.
When Valeriya finds info that might save a drakon's life, she is overcome by the need to contact and warn him.So when she approaches the cabin in the woods, she is both disappointed and relieved to not find anyone there. But little does she know that too many people are watching her.

Tarrant doesn't want to trust this woman who has come to the cabin looking for Darius, but there's just something about her.So when something happens he sorta kidnaps her and takes her to his underground lair. But it sure didn't feel like a kidnapping ;)
And as they spend more time together,Tarrant belongs to realise that Valeriya genuinely wants to help them, but bringing her into his life would mean exposing so many things and putting her in danger too.Are they ready for that?

The relationship between Valeriya and Tarrant was well developed but had a slight instalust feel to it.The chemistry between them was well done!Valeriya was really sweet without appearing too Mary Sue-ish.The action had me at the edge of my seat, but at one point I felt like the antagonists could use more character development.Sometimes they feel a little one dimensional. It was so great seeing Sarah ,Darius and others again.I really hope the next one is Ezra's book and he finds a great girl.Maybe someone really kickass ;)

Drakon's Prey picks up where Drakon's Promise left off. N.J. Walters' world of half dragons and the evil knights that hunt them is a roller coaster ride, full of thrills and feels. I love the world that Walters is building. She's created something special, with it's own rules and cannon. It's unique and her characters are engaging.

I really liked Valeriya Azarov. She's always been the outsider, too soft and weak to be a part of the Knights of the Dragon. Not even important enough to a pawn in her sister's world of deceit and power. Tarrant Cooper hoards information. To him it's more important that the air he can control as an Air Drakon. So what happens when he impulsively takes Valeriya from the cabin above his bunker?

Walter's keeps the plot moving and the action well paced. She's also bringing in more characters and laying the ground work for a larger story arc. What's going to happen now that the Knights have poked the drakon? They may have started a war they can't handle.

This author has had a couple of books on my tbr so I was most excited to finally take time to read one of her's. I did not mean to get into this though in the second of the series but the story sounded so intriguing to me. There is always that one that rebels against a family business if there is one. In this one there is and Valeriya is the rebellious one but writing is fine by me though since a reader. She also has a heart that will lead her into drama. Tarrant will cross her path with the chemistry going thru the roof. The drama that follows them will pull you slowly to the edge by then capturing you with their story. Right and wrong battle it out that in itself is one to watch and add paranormal with one of my fav dragons it is all good.

This installment was totally different from the adventure we had going on in the first book, and was more like a paranormal ROMANCE with mind games and 'what ifs' and 'maybes' played between all the characters that we already knew was going to happen. Still, it was entertaining, hot and super sweet. A bit cheesy at times in the small moments of realization (good going, Drakon) but overall I really liked it and it was nice seeing the other people's POVs because I heart them a lot lol definite recommend.

I was so excited to be back in the world of the Drakon! It isn't necessary to read book 1, but it will help you better understand the world Walter's has created! Drakon's Prey is the story of Tarrant and Valeriya so strap in!

Tarrant is a drakon (part dragon, part human). He and his brother are being hunted by the Knights of the Dragon. The leader of this group? Valeriya's sister! So, when Valeriya shows up at Tarrant's hideaway, he is suspicious. However, Valeriya isn't part of her sisters clandestine group out to destroy an entire species. Her and her sister aren't exactly close and Val is not okay with the things her sister is doing.

I am so much more forgiving of insane plots in PNR. For example, Val is kidnapped by a stranger, he threatens her life, and then kisses him. If this were a contemporary romance, I would be screaming "STOCKHOLM SYNDROME" and rolling my eyes. But, in PNR, I'm like "Oh, cool." I think because the entire genre kind of forces you to accept lots of supernatural things, I am just more open. I mean, he is part dragon, she has a 6th sense that alerts her to danger, and they are fated mates. Not only do I accept it, I LOVE it! I know lots of readers struggle with PNR for these exact reasons; so, if you are one of those readers (no judgement) you won't enjoy this book. But, if you are like me and love a good, unrealistic dragon romance, Drakon's Prey is good pick.

Tarrant is the broody brother you meet in book 1 so it was nice to see him meet his mate. Val is quirky and fun but has had a tough life. Ostracized by her family because she didn't want any part in the Knights of the Dragon, she was a pretty lonely kid. Now as an adult, she is still lonely. So, the Knights are now looking for the drakons and Val because they want to know what she is up to. So, Tarrant and Val form an odd alliance at first, but it doesn't take long before the mate bond takes hold and they are hooked on each other.

Mix 1 lonely girl who wants to save someone with 1 surly drakon who wants to save his species, throw in some fate that demands attraction and a secret society hellbent on destroying and you have Drakon's Prey!

I enjoyed DRAKON'S PREY just as much as I enjoyed DRAKON'S PROMISE. If you didn't read book one, make sure to read it before jumping in, you won't want to miss the backstory.

The Knights are after a Drakon and the sister of their leader has set out to warn him. DRAKON'S PREY starts off right were book one left off. Sarah and Darius are safe with another brother and Tarrant is in his home when a woman starts sniffing around the cabin and eventually ends up moving in.

I absolutely love watching an alpha male get wrapped around a woman's finger, especially when they don't see it while it's happening and don't care when they realize it happened. The connection between Tarrant and Valeriya is pretty much instant, but both of course fight it a little before they fall into bed with each other. Even after jumping into bed they don't trust each other, but feel very protective of the other. It was entertaining watching them try to hold themselves back and frustrating when their lack of communication caused hurt feelings.

Not a whole bunch happened with moving along the Knights of the Dragon storyline, but I didn't much notice with all the hot romance going on. I'm ready to meet another brother and watch him fall in love with his perfect match. I also want to see the Knights go down, so bring on book three!

I loved the first book in this series (Drakon's Promise) and I was delighted to find that Drakon's Prey was just as good if not better than it. The two main characters were really well written and their story arc was well thought out and well written. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I am reviewing this book based on an ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.
