Another great addition to the series. NJ Walters knows how to hit it out of the park.

Tarrant was sexy as hell. I liked him. He too like his brother in the first book was easy to like and you didn't have to hate him then learn to like him. He was true to life that he would be cautious with Valeriya then decide about her. When he did decide he was wonderful to her and treated her like a princess.

I like Valeriya. She had a terrible childhood and for her own sister to want her dead, that just stinks! I loved that she was an author and made stories about dragons! She had a soft heart but was strong and loyal like no ones business!

Great story and I can't wait for the rest of the brothers' stories. Ezra and Nic!!

Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Valeriya copied a note she could tell was important from her sisters desk and she had to warn Darius Varkas the Drakon that the Knights of the Dragon are hunting. When she shows up in the cabin Tarrant who is hidden takes her in the middle of the night because two men are looking for her.

When she wakes and sees him she isn't afraid but then she doesn't know he is a Drakon. She has been in love with them for years but only in her fantasies if fact she writes children's books about them. Valeriya's sister is in charge of the Knights of the Dragon and she has no problem having her killed but something stops them. Tarrant is in love with this brave woman who wants to save him instead of herself.

This story danger and all is just so sweet and I loved how protective they were of each other. Part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Drakon's Prey by N.J. Walters was another great read! Being the second book in the Blood of the Drakon series, I was excited to sink my teeth into Valeriya and Tarrant's story. Ms. Walters thrusts you into a world full of dragons, power, deceit and revenge! You will be on the edge of your seat, biting your nails wondering what will happen next.

Tarrant and Valeriya's relationship was on the rocks from the beginning. Her family hunts and kills Tarrant's kind. But once they get to know one another, things start to get hot and heavy! They get better understanding of one another, and I thought that was beautiful to see.

The ending was exceptional! Little hints here and there on to which Drakon will be featured in the next book in the series. I can't recommend this series enough, one of my new all time favorites.

Drakon’s Prey sucked me right in from page one, and I simply couldn’t put it down. While I had some issues with the ending, this was a fast-paced read with a half-human, half-dragon alpha and his sweet human counterpart.

What better friend than a powerful creature who could be both playmate and protector, both human and dragon?

There was so much suspense to this novel! Living amongst humans, there’s another species in the world—the drakons—who are half-human, half-dragon. The meet up between the two main characters is inevitable, and boy, does the thrill of that hook the reader.

Valeryia has such a soft-heart as well as a good soul. As such, she doesn’t agree with what her family has done for centuries—hunt drakons in order to have the healing and immortality they get from taking their blood. In fact, Valeryia’s own sister runs the organization. Valeriya can sense danger, so she takes action, heading out to warn the drakon of his hunters.

I really adored Valeriya. She has a solid moral compass, and she stands by what she believes in. Even though she’s not built with the hardcore persona of her sister, Valeryia has her own inner strength. It’s delightful to see, especially when she matches it up against the hero of this tale, Tarrant.

Tarrant’s a loner and has hidden himself away in a remote cabin. His solitude is intruded upon by children’s author and sweetheart, Valeryia. He’s enchanted by her propensity for talking out loud to herself as well as her resourcefulness. However, her connection to the Knights of the Dragon concerns him. He holds her captive, but pretty soon, it’s him that’s captivated by her. I mean, dang…do these two fire up the sheets! And not just because Tarrant’s half-dragon, ya’ll.

I loved how bit-by-bit they open up and share their secrets. It kept me riveted. I felt, however, that the ending lost some of the power that the opening of the novel had. What should have been the pivotal moment ended up falling flat, and the story just kind of ended. I kept looking for something more. Something to tie up loose ends.

That being said, the conflict around the drakons and the Knights of the Dragon is building to a head as the series goes on. I appreciated the time we get to spend with the couple, and I can’t wait to see how the story continues to progress. The world building is phenomenal, the cast equal parts menacing and adorable, and the romance erotically charged.

4 stars!

I just love me some dragons.
Another great additional to this wonderful series. I’m so happy I found this series. I’ve read two other books by this author and she knows how to write paranormal romance. With Ms. Walters you get sucked into the story even if you don’t want to but believe me you will. There is a great blend of paranormal with suspense and the world that has been built and the Drakons.
Drakons are half dragon and human sired by male dragons with human mothers. They are hunted down for their blood by the Knights of the Dragon and have shied away from humans to protect themselves they prefer solitude anyway. But the time has come to go on the defence and not the offense.
I loved Tarrant and Valeriya together. They have chemistry and banter with delectable steamy scenes thrown in. Although they get off to a rocky start as Valeriya’s family business is to hunt Drakons down for a living to get their blood to heal sickness and prolong life. They overcome it all and have their happily for now.
Whereas we got a peek at the end of the epilogue in the book who would be next we unfortunately aren’t so lucky here. I hope it is Ezra the water dragon. The most anti-social bunch of the brothers. I can’t wait to continue with this engaging, fabulous and humorous series.

Wow, this story just flew by, I was wrapped up that I didn't even realize it was ending. But that is part of the problem I felt like I missed a pivotal part of the story, but really it just was a smooth easy read, no major climax. Overall I am not disappointed, I love where this is going and look forward to Ezra and Nics story.

THUD *hits the floor in a faint* Drakon's Prey continues on with all the beauty and wonder that Book 1 brought to the table.

Drakon’s Pray is Book 2 of the Blood of the Drakon Series by N.J. Walters and is absolutely breathtaking with the author’s wonderful crafting of her story. This was one rollercoaster of a ride that I didn’t want to end. Such vividness and detail, the storyline comes to life and is fully enhanced by the sexy alpha males and their sassy counterparts. Ms. Walters is a master of PNR...pure perfection!

4.5 Stars Drakon’s Prey is an awesome addition to the Blood of the Drakon series. The story was well paced, and I loved Tarrant and found Valeriya a good match for him. I look forward to reading more by this author.

It started out promising. I loved the main characters - Valeriya was so cute and charming, and Tarrant seemed to be charmed by her. I thought that that this would be a couple I could get behind. But I really had a problem with how quickly they had sex with each other. Valeriya hadn't even known Tarrant two days, and what she did know pointed to him being a concerned kidnapper at best and her future murderer at worst. I just thought their relationship wasn't allowed enough time to develop, and that left me disappointed. I lost interest about 1/3 of the way through because it was too much about the sex and not enough story. Just needed more bonding before the sex, in my opinion.

I am really starting to enjoy this series and I recommend a reread of Drakon's Promise just because it made it fun to go from one to the other! I'm sure you like me found yourself immensely curious on Darius' brothers and Tarrant does not disappoint. I will say I would love to see one of these drakon's find a mate who is as physically strong as these Valeriya and Sarah have been mentally and spiritually. Nevertheless I liked Valeriya and Tarrants story and the sex between these two is smoking! There is continuing story development from Darius' book but not tons, I'm really hoping for Ezra next and some interaction with Nic.
