Lily and Milo spend the day together playing in puddles, digging in the sandbox and drawing pictures. The whole time they play the reader is asked to find different coloured items for them. This book is a very interactive reading experience. When reading it with a child you can help them find colours and they can learn to look for them on their own. I really enjoyed the illustrations. I like when drawings have painted aspects to them. The story was also really cute and fun. I recommend this book to kids ages 2-4.
4/5⭐
I enjoy these books that are educational and fun and contain animals.
A rather cute picture book helping your kids to know their colors in a fun and amusing way. Milo like any little kid is just so cute with his mis-oops, he messes up all the time but that is the beauty of being a kid, learning is fun when you are a kid especially learning your colors. This book is truly a fun way to teach your kids about colors. It is just so cute, I like it. Any parent would love this book for their kids the colors are brilliant and unforgettable and the illustration are quirky and fun to look at.
I am an early childhood educator and I appreciated the interactive aspect that allows children to answer questions, point to objects to identify colors, and participate along with the reader. The book allows the reader to teach about friendship, acceptance, feelings, and emotions. I believe that ages from 2-5 would enjoy and learn from this adorable story. I highly recommend it.
My 3 year old daughter loved it and it is now part of our bed time reading book selection.
Kids will delight in this charming book with two very adorable little characters, Lily and Milo. They go about their daily activities incorporating colours into everything that they decide to do.
The cute duo head out to play and need to wear their red boots because it's raining. After splashing in the puddles they end up in their sandbox to dig a big hole and they must choose only the green shovels to get the job done. Next a huge bouquet of multi-coloured balloons magically appear and together they decide yellow is their most favourite. Calling it a day they retrieve their blue cart to take them home from the park.
It's been a very busy time for them and they are tired and thirsty.... oh oh!! They pick orange juice to quench their thirst. Great choice! Wanting to calm down and relax now they decide to draw a picture. They both get a big piece of white paper and use all the colours of felt-tip pens in the box to make a masterpiece.... well Lily did on her paper anyway. Find out what Milo decides to use as his canvas. It will make everyone giggle for sure.
The very best part of the whole book is that the cute two ask you, the reader, to help them choose the proper colours that they are searching for. This clever, interactive book will have your child learning colours in no time flat and have a great time doing it. I highly, highly recommend this book.
I really like this book. It helps small children learn their colors. The story will tell you Lilly and Milo want the yellow balloon. There will be several other colors of balloons as well and it ask to help them find the yellow one. The illustrations are cute, colorful, and engaging to small children. My 2 year old Grand Son really liked the book and he is just learning colors so it was a lot of fun for both of use when he was able to pick the right color. I love children's book that are as much educational as fun to read.
This was a very cute, very quick read. I read this to my three-year-old cousin and he loved every second of it. I can see many children liking this story once it is finished. Although a bit generic, I am sure there are a thousand children's picture books exactly like this, just with different pictures, this one was enjoyable both to my cousin and me. I would recommend this to any person with small children.
Instead of showing and making kids mugging something, if you teach them through interactive and game based approach they will remember for their lifetime. "Looking for Colors with Lily and Milo" is such story where kids were asked to identify colour based on activity Lily & Milo were doing.
Graphics and storyline will add interest to kids to follow patiently. Nice book for kids under 3 I would say.
Incredibly colorful, as one would expect from the title, and incredibly simplistic. Readers look for the objects in the correct color that the narrative tells them to.
Milo is extremely accident-prone.
Quick refresher quiz at end.
This is for really small kids, but feels like a good way to teach them colors.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5
A very, very simple book about two animal friends and colors. Also very short. Toddlers can point to objects of a certain color on each page.
This is a really fun book with some cute images. I think this book would be easily picked up and understood by the target age range of 24 months plus and will help them learn more about colours and identifying them, along with a few other items along the way- 4 stars from me and will definitely be looking to get a copy for my little girl.
For very young children, I'm sure! I liked the story and thought the interactive-ness of the book would be fun for littles! The illustrations wer sooo cute! Should become a series if it isn't one!
This is a cute book to teach colours to young children. Lily and Milo are friends that spend the day doing various activities. Each activity showcases a colour such as red boots, yellow balloon, blue wagon etc. Milo tends to make a mess or have an accident such as breaking his balloon or throwing sand on Lily, but Lily helps Milo out and take care of him. Colourful full page illustrations complement the story. I think little ones will enjoy this book while also learning their basic colours. A great book for a kindergarten classroom or family with young children.
A standard book about colors that is written as most story tellers would have read it. Full of questions for the audience.
