This is my Gina L. Maxwell first book, It captivated me and now I want to read more.
In this book Erik is a fireman, former Army Ranger suffering from PTSD. He is a real hero, but one fire got him back into his old days and has him struggling to a point his boss wants him to seek out help.
Olivia Jones is a divorced psychologist trying to get back into dating after a couple of years. Her specialty is PTSD, as her godfather was a former Marine an a psychologist as well, who invited Livvie to help him at the clinic.
After a few horrible dates, she is ready to give up, but then she meets Erik at a licorice store and agreed to a one no strings attached night. Their chemistry is off the charts, so hot I thought my Kindle would catch fire.

I can’t wait to read about the other characters in the next books. They got me intrigued and I would absolutely want to find out their stories as well.

Hot for the Fireman by Gina L. Maxwell......5 Flaming Stars for the Fireman! What more can you ask for a former military hottie that now is a fireman hottie. This story had me laughing at the bantering between Erik and Olivia. There is just the perfect amount of emotions in this book, Gina L. Maxwell has written a book of perfection. I love seeing this story be told for these two. I voluntarily reviewed an an reader copy of this book.

4.5 Stars! I truly enjoyed this story! Gina is a fairly new to me author. This is only the 2nd book I've read of hers, but I loved it, and I will definitely be reading more.

Erik "Wolf" Grady used to be an Army Ranger, and now he's a fireman. He's used to high stress situations, but a recent fire call served as a startling reminder, and started a downward spiral of PTSD and flashback issues for him, stemming from his time overseas. His boss has ordered him to see a shrink to deal with it before it becomes a bigger issue in a future work situation. He's suspended until he gets the all-clear.

Olivia Jones is a psychologist. She's a PTSD specialist, and she works in her godfather's clinic. Her godfather is a former Marine and is now a therapist as well. She used to be married, but it's been 2 years and she's finally back on the dating scene. This has led to a string of terrible, horrible dates, and she's finally had it. Livvie meets Wolf in a liquor store, while picking up a bottle of wine after another bad date disaster. He comes to her rescue, and they agree to have one night together, no real names, and no strings. Famous last words, right?!

Livvie and Erik's chemistry was off-the-charts hot, and their dirty talk, and banter was sexy as hell. They really seemed to understand each other, and worked to overcome their issues. They were really great together. The issue that came up between them was completely believable, not to mention heartbreaking, and it really killed me. I liked that they were both willing to do the work they felt it would take to begin resolving their issues.

The side characters in this book were also fantastic! I'm hoping this was set up for them to all get their own books! Wolf's best friends from the Army/Fire Dept. each have their own issues, and they need to find their loves! We're obviously well on our way with Dozer! Livvie's best friend Angie was hilarious and fun, and I can't wait to find out more about her! The whole backstory of the entire crew, as well as the setting in Boston were so well done. I can't wait to read more about these awesome characters. This book was a big winner for me!

Who doesn't love a book about firemen?? Especially ones from Boston!! Erik is on desk duty until he got to see a doctor and talk about his PTDS that he has being experiencing lately. After a few tours in Iraq, it is not surprising that he would come back with somethings he needs to talk about. But being the man that he is, he doesn't want to go.

The night before his appointment he runs into Olivia Jones. She is on her 10000 bad date since jumping back into the dating pool. When Erik pays for her wine, he also offers her one night of passion and fun to take her mind (and his) off of everything. Anonymous one night of fun never seemed so good.

The next morning everything is thrown for a loop when Olivia turns out to be his Dr Jones, and one night soon becomes more when Erik decides it is meant to be.

I really enjoyed this book. Gina L Maxwell did a good job with telling Erik's story and getting things right on the Boston front....

I LOVED this book! Super sexy fireman meets emotionally closed off uptight therapist makes for one fun and sexy story. The air around Erik and "Livvy" is definitely sexually charged but there is a lot more going on there than either wants to admit to. This story is filled with humor, witty banter, and seriously hot sexy times but it also has a great story of two people building a relationship of friendship, trust, and yes ultimately love. This is just the beginning of what should be a fantastic series and I can't wait for the next one. Put this one on the must read list! I highly recommend it.

Rating: 4.5*

Trope: Firefighter

Chemistry: Off the charts Scorchio

One-Sentence Summary: Firefighter Versus Therapist

Review: It’s been awhile since I’ve read a romance that gave me all sorts of tingly feels but this one certainly did it!

I loved the set up of Erik and Olivia meeting each other and not knowing that they were going to have to work together in “real life”. Erik’s persistence at getting her to go out with him was nicely mirrored in the latter half with Olivia refusing to give up on him.

Whilst I spent the first half wondering when Erik’s PTSD, the whole reason for them meeting, would come into play when it finally did, it did so in a big way. It felt so raw and real and I really felt for him.

Erik’s condition keeps him off work for the duration of the book so for those of you looking forward to a book full of sexy firefighting action, you may be a little disappointed but I am sure Maxwell has plenty of time to explore that side of things in the rest of the series

One of my favourite things about the book was undoubtedly the introduction of Dozer and Angie. I am guessing their book is up next and I, for one, absolutely can’t wait to read it. I love a good reconciliation romance.

PS. Loved the shout-out to Kate Meader’s awesome Chicago firefighting series!

There's no question that Erik and Olivia set off sparks, their chemistry is off the charts. So much so that it becomes hard to maintain a boundary between personal and professional. He needs a shrink to guide him thru the chaos in his head. What he ends up getting is a tempting distraction that he wants to warm his bed. Olivia is a woman of sophistication in a respected career where her rep is her calling card. When her past meets her present, her world becomes one of wicked attraction and hormonal overload. Will this turn out to be just what the doctor ordered? A whole lot of naughty equals out to a spicy read.

Hot read !

At a liquor store Wolf overhears Livvies phone conversation with her friend after a bad date to indulge in a one night stand. Wolf is intrigued and interested, but having just decided against indulging in one night stands, he doesn't act. But a series of unfortunate events keep going them in each other's sights and they spend the night together.
After a memorable night, Wolf wanted to see her again but she left while he was sleeping and he lost the chance. When he learns she's the psychiatrist assigned to him, he knows it's a second chance given to him that he will make the best use of. He managed to win 3 dates with her in a totally rigged bet.
Wolf and Livvie have a off the charts hot chemistry and the dirty talk acted like gasoline. I loved the banter between them. It was funny, naughty, emotional, totally entertaining read. The bond between Wolf and his buddies is worth mentioning.
I can't wait to read more in the series.

Loved this book! It's sexy and H.O.T. - so hot that it should come with its own fire extinguisher! Sexy as sin in all the naughty ways.

Erik is a former Army Ranger who now is a fireman where he leads his team of rangers that now work together as firemen. Unfortunately, his past as a ranger, and its resulting PTSD, sneaks up on him after a particularly bad call. He stops at a liquor store to pick up something numbing and sees a woman wrapped in a sexy red dress.

Before long, they agree to a night of sexual escapades without even sharing their real names. Without anyway to get in touch with her, fate steps in and offers a second chance of sorts and a bargain is struck.

Fans of the genre will LOVE this book. It's very sexy and fun, while also telling an engaging story. Even better, it shines a light on PTSD and the struggles that those that face it deal with on a daily basis. In this day and age, I can't imagine that there's many of us that aren't touched by PTSD in some way- either with someone we know, love, or ourselves. This novel brings those struggles to life in a way that made me appreciate what those I love face.

Kudos to the author for the deft way she told this story. This book is a MUST READ and the author is on my must read authors' list.

Where there's smoke there's fire and Gina Maxwell torched this one. I loved this book.
This book is a 4 alarm blazing read that will leave your kindle melting in your hands. I'll guarantee you'll never look at a fireman in his turn out gear the same again!!! Hot!

Erik "Wolf" Grady is a Lt. in the BFD, ex Army Ranger, dedicated and panty melting hot. His crew in the BFD are his team from the military and so called by their call signs. Wolf is Erik's and that comes with its own story. Erik has a problem, which for the most part is under control until the last large call out and is now remanded to therapy for his PTSD. He's now on desk duty and if he doesn't complete the therapy, he's on desk duty forever. Sheer torture for this man.
Stressed out, angry and out for a brew with his crew, he finds his a little "stress relief" burning up the sheets with "no names please." Chuckle. Needing a name, he gives her Wolf, she gives him Livvie. A wild night in the rack eases a little of his tension, and set for his appt to see the therapist the next morning. Showing up for his appt. yeah, you guessed it. Dr Olivia "Livvie" Jones. Olivia is stunned to see her one night scorcher in her doorway the next morning and absolutely refuses to see him as a patient and turns him over to her co-worker/boss, also Uncle. Erik wants Olivia. So he sets out to court her. Baiting her, he ropes her into three dates, in public so he can prove to her that he's more than just a roll in the rack and that he really does want to get to know her.
Between watching the courtship and listening to the dialogue between these two, which is at times hysterical and Erik's struggle with his PTSD, guilt and nightmares, the book had my emotions swinging on a pendulum. I loved these two together. Add to that the secondary characters, her best friend Angelina and Dozer who have history..... (please let this be the next book I need Dozer's story) . The sex and tension between these two was so palpable and so flipping hot. Nothing boring about these two.
Erik is truly a good man and Olivia is just a great female lead.
This book was so well written, I love Gina's books but I have to say this is her best by far. She captures not only the relationship but the stresses that those with PTSD bring to life and she did it justice. So much packed between these pages, it's just a must read.
Amazing book Gina!! Thank you!!

Gina Maxwell books are kind of synonymous with hot alpha heroes and the women who bring them to their knees. I absolutely loved this novel and could not get enough of Erik and Olivia together. This novel was full of my perfect formula: heat, heart and humor.

After meeting randomly and feeling the electric chemistry between them, Erik and Olivia have a night of passion they both won't ever forget.  But when morning comes, sweet and responsible Dr. Olivia Jones wants to leave this one night stand in the past and move on in hopes that this fiery hookup will help push her back into the dating world after two years. But Erik, a combat veteran and a Boston Fire department Leiutenant, on the other hand, is ready to find his anonymous hookup for a second round. But what happens when his personal demons from serving in the military begin to affect him? Will he be able to balance a relationship wirh Olivia while trying to heal from his time serving his country?

I absolutely adored this novel. I felt Maxwell was abke to balance the serious nature of Erik's PTSD condition with the lighthearted comraderie between Erik and his brothers and his sexy banter with Olivia. I look forward to more books in this series from this author especially a Dozer and Angie book! 4 stars ~Ratula

I would like to thank Entangled for an advanced copy of this novel.
